oops. :PHow do you figure? Do you mean Snorunt?
Yeah.... see above.Tyrogue doesn't resist ice, but Snorunt and Thick Fat Swinub/Azurill do.
actually, nidoran-m has the highest. also patrat is tied w/pidove as well. plus inkay gets contrary superpower, so ice isn't uncounterable. One thing I've noticed: There is only one Pokemon in the tier that has STAB supereffctives moves on Ice, which is Tyrogue, making Ice a surprisingly good type.

INTRODUCING...
In some ways the exact opposite of Fail Cup, Mega Cup only allows Mega Evolutions. Discounting Mega Mewtwo, there are 26 to choose from, which allows for a certain amount of variety while still keeping the metagame small enough to be "Micro". The twist is that in this metagame, instead of having to mega-evolve, all pokemon start out in their mega form and are allowed to use any items they want.
That's right, you can have anything from Choice Band Mega Medicham to Assault Vest Mega Tyranitar. This may seem broken, but when every pokemon in the game has that level of power, it balances out fairly well. The big powerhouses such as Mega Kangaskan and Gengar now have to face new counters such as Will-o-Wisp Mega Banette and Choice Scarf MegaChomp. Although mostly dominated by attackers, Aggron, Tyranitar, Venusaur and Blastoise still function well defensively, so not every team has to play hyper-offense.
Weather is interesting here. The most noticeable thing is that Rain is the only auto-weather that doesn't exist in Mega Cup. Tyranitar, however, remains stronger than ever with access to Assault Vest and Life Orb. (Not to mention, Mega Garchomp is an absolute monster in sand.) Mega Charizard Y is not to be underestimated either. Sun has always been good, but it was held back by the ever-present rain teams and the overall mediocrity of Ninetales. Neither of those problems stand in the way of MegaZard Y, and with 159 SpA and good abusers in the form of Houndoom and Blaziken, it's definitely going to leave a mark.
Mega Abomasnow isn't nearly as good, but it does have its own niche in the form of Trick Room. In a metagame filled to the brim with fast attackers, Trick Room allows pokemon like Mega Mawile and Mega Ampharos to dominate. Unfortunately, the only setters are Mega Alakazam, Gengar, Gardevoir and Banette, all of which are rather fast and have subpar defensive typing, so it probably won't have any large effect on the meta.
Stealth Rock is still pretty important. With several good setters, four 2x weak pokemon and two 4x weak pokemon (including the indomitable Mega Charizard Y), it's still viable, especially if you want to counter sun teams.
Beyond that, it's up to the imagination. What new cores can be formed with access to more than one of these pokemon? Who can best abuse items like Choice Scarf and Weakness Policy? Anything is possible in the world of Mega Cup!

Within The Borderline
What is this?
Within The Borderline is pretty self explanatory. The only Pokemon allowed are Pokemon in their respective BL are allowed. This includes BL5 (from FU) and LC Ubers.
How do Megas work?
So, Some Megas are in a Borderline, but their base formes aren't. So, the base formes are allowed. (Ex. Mega Medicham is in BL, Medicham is UU)

Yes, it is! Just build a team with only the Pokemon listed above and battle your friend!
+6 Linoone annihilates this meta. Fully physically defensive Shelgon can reliably take one Extreme Speed, but dies to two. Metang can't reliably switch in, as it risks the KO from Shadow Claw after switching in on Espeed, even if it's fully physically defensive. Toss in some hazard support to break sashes, something with Fire to destroy Metang, bring Linoone in on a free switch, destroy everything.approved by Eevee General

please get this approved the next time you post this. This micro takes place in the Doubles format (name might have given it away) and there are two extra rules involved.Doubles: Counterparts
Or, Yinyangmons
- Your team must consist of 3 pairs
- You must open the match with a pair, but you can switch around however you want after that
List of pairs:
But wait, there are more than 50 Pokemon listed! Because this is in the doubles format, I'm cheating and counting pairs as 1 unit.
- Butterfree & Beedrill
- Clefable & Wigglytuff
- Sandslash & Arbok
- Ninetales & Arcanine
- Vileplume & Victreebel
- Persian & Primeape
- Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan or Hitmontop, pick 2
- Electivire & Magmortar
- Omastar & Kabutops
- Ledian & Ariados
- Honchkrow & Mismagius
- Ursaring & Donphan
- Espeon & Umbreon
- Pinsir & Heracross
- Tauros & Miltank
- Gyarados & Milotic
- Skarmory & Mantine
- Beautifly & Dustox
- Cradily & Armaldo
- Ludicolo & Shiftry
- Sableye & Mawile
- Ninjask & Shedinja
- Plusle & Minun
- Volbeat & Illumise
- Zangoose & Seviper
- Solrock & Lunatone
- Camerupt & Seviper
- Salamence & Metagross
- Latias & Latios
- Purugly & Skuntank
- Rampardos & Bastiodon
- Gardevoir & Gallade
- Cresselia & Darkrai
- Throh & Sawk
- Carracosta & Archeops
- Whimsicott & Lilligant
- Gothitelle & Reuniclus
- Accelgor & Escavalier
- Braviary & Mandibuzz
- Heatmor & Durant
- Electrode & Amoonguss
- Tornadus & Thundurus
- Tyrantrum & Aurorus
- Slurpuff & Aromatisse
- Clawitzer & Dragalge
- Trevenant & Gourgeist
Opening pair strategies:
+
- Sableye gives Mawile a chance to mega evolve by causing any threats to Mawile to flinch with Fake Out, usually on a Special Attacker that doesn't care about Intimidate. That way Mawile can set up a Substitute without burning a turn to Protect.
+
- This core is a good answer to the one above it thanks to its own Intimidate Gyarados to dampen Mawile's power while Milotic nabs a Competitive boost. Gyarados can Protect as Milotic spams Surfs, shielding itself from Sableye's Will-O-Wisp and the Surf damage. The resistance to Steel is also nice.
+
- And this core is a good answer to the one above. Both could run Defiant if they want, though Prankster Thundurus offers so much utility it's hard to pass it up. Obviously Thundurus's Electric STAB scares off Gyarados and Milotic, and you can use that to set Rain Dance and then alternate between spamming Hurricane/Protect (if Tornadus is Special) and Discharge.
+
- The small amount of Steels in the pool means Dragon spam could be effective except when these two show up. As a starting core, they resist Sleep and Taunt as well, though Unburden Slurpuff is probably more viable.
+
- This is more of a fun core. Butterfree uses Sleep Powder to disable a threat and Beedrill mega evolves with Protect. Basically, you have to use Butterfree to have access to Mega Beedrill, so that's as good as it gets.
Thanks to Arcticblast for some of the development and ideas!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Vileplume should be with Bellossom, not Victreebel. This micro takes place in the Doubles format (name might have given it away) and there are two extra rules involved.Doubles: Counterparts

Thanks to Arcticblast for some of the development and ideas!
It was Arcticblast's idea because they were pseudo-legendaries introduced simultaneously. It's a bit of a stretch, but it adds some competitive flavor to the format, being both an answer to Dragon spam and Fairies at the same time. Electrode and Amoonguss are here because they're both Pokeball inspired... plus it was the easiest way to get Amoonguss, a good Doubles mon, on the list.I don't think that Salamence + Metagross or Electrode + Amoonguss should be here. Being pseudos introduced in Gen III doesn't make them counterparts because nothing else about them is related, and neither does being generational counterparts, unless you want to add Machamp + Conkeldurr, pick 2 of Pidgeot/Staraptor/Unfezant/Talonflame or Raticate/Furret/Linoone/Bibarel/Watchog/Diggersby, etc.
