You have up to 24 hours to discuss the winners. If not much discussion is going on, I will immediately go to the next slate.

Ghoosling line - You know, the priority-blocking abilities are pretty cool but it's never had time to shine in singles: the three mons that get them are either too slow to take advantage of it, or are named Bruxish. Swaunted, however, does not have that problem. Base 107 speed is really solid, so being able to prevent opponents from circumventing that speed with a Sucker Punch or Accelerock is a big deal. Combine that with Ghost/Flying, Calm Mind, and a good SpAtk, and Swaunted is shaping to be a pretty threatening breaker. Berserk is also a fun option, but let's be real you're using QM.

Bisite line - Doesn't get Draining Kiss, 0/10. In all seriousness, Vampinae is... fine, I guess, but Strong Jaw Leech Life is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here.

Vilink - Is a Prankster mon. I would be fine with this but we already got three other mons with Prankster so far so it feels pretty redundant, and while Vilink at least has a wide array of status moves to abuse, its only good stat is SpDef and it keels over and dies to any Dark-type that switches in.

Roxwell line - Rock/Psychic is a big turnoff, especially without Levitate (at least for the final stage), but between a solid speed tier and fat twin beams and meteor beams, it will at the very least be a fun pick for whatever team it can fit into.

Comysol - I should have brought this up sooner but we really need to nerf the numbers on Power Lock: 1/4 is pretty big chip damage for an effect that can trigger on the switch turn without any counterplay, even if it's prediction-reliant. Outside of that though Comysol looks p good - notoriously good typing, stats are... okay enough, and pretty wide movepool

Kindread line - Why did you give it Drought.

Duroach line - The cooler Bisite. the Bug type has some big resistances to Ground and Fighting, so seeing a pure Bug wall in action will be interesting

Next slate ready!

Slate 10 - Aquatic Slate: Aquarium of Possibilities
:sv/gyarados::sv/finneon::sv/clobbopus::sv/inkay::sv/milotic:
The Aquatic Slate refers to Pokémon that lives near or within bodies of water, be it rivers, lakes, beaches or the ocean itself. The move Surf - or a variety of substitute - and / or a fishing rod is needed to get more specific kind of Pokémon living in these aquatic places. There is even underwater exploration back in Hoenn as well!

Here’s the Rules
- This slate is kind of a free slate, but any flavor you make for you submissions must be aquatic. You can still be quite flexible with this, but make sure to address it.
- You may sub up to 5 unique evolutionary lines of Pokemon. These lines can include split evolutions.
- There is no hard BST limit for this slate, though you should stay reasonable unless you have a good flavor justification like Slaking.
- As for what's typical for a standard Pokémon, final evolutions tend to peak around the 520-530 range, sometimes going into the 540s for stuff like cross gen evolutions or Gyarados. Florges and Arcanine are the only two non-flavor exceptions to this, being over 550, with the others (Slaking and Archeops) having flavor reasons. Standalone Pokémon tend to stay below 500, especially for early-to-midgame mons, though there are a lot of exceptions for later game mons like Duraludon or Dhelmise.
- Pokémon that live in aquatic places are usually Water-type, but you can be flexible with it.
- You can sub regional forms, convergents and cross-gen evolutions + babies for this slate.

Here is the type count of fully evolved Pokémon so far:
1692708656391.png

The type count is more balanced this time around. Ice is still way ahead despite the lack of addition last slate, but other than that, the type count shows a good amount of representation for most types so far.

As usual, the submission phase will lasts for about six days.

Name: Aleviar (Alevin/newly hatched fry that's still attached to the yolk sac + Caviar)
Typing: Water/Normal
Ability: Water Bubble / Infiltrator [HA]
Base Stats: 71 / 56 / 63 / 55 / 70 / 70 (385)
Height + Weight: 0.3 m + 1.0 kg
Flavour/Design: Based on roe, the eggs of fish such as trout. Design wise, picture Nemo's siblings if they were like Solosis. Aleviar are preyed upon by other Water-types such as Shorror, but these critters are the equivalent of roundworms, so if your Pokémon feel sick and hydrophobic, better take them to the Pokémon centre to check if they've had something fishy to eat recently.
Potential Competitive Role: One of the naturally bulkier options for Water- or Normal-types in LC - as a Normal-type, it's bested only by Lickitung and maybe Munchlax overall, while it trumps fellow Water-types Chinchou and Shellos; Water Bubble helps patch up its alright attacking stats for Water STAB.

(Lvl up Aleviar starting at lvl 24)
Name: Cuttrout (Cutthroat trout)
Typing: Water/Steel
Ability: Battle Tide* / Infiltrator [HA]
Base Stats: 75 / 100 / 63 / 112 / 75 / 85 (510)
Notable Moves: Aqua Jet, Wave Crash, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Triple Axel, Ice Hammer, Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Rapid Spin, Double-Edge, Breaking Swipe, Outrage, Acrobatics, Revenge, Superpower, Brine, Scald, Surf, Hydro Pump, Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Dark Pulse, Dragon Pulse, Final Gambit, Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Autotomize, Taunt, Fillet Away.
Height + Weight: 1m + 19.0 kg
Flavour/Design: Based on the Cutthroat Trout & Rainbow Trout, state fish of Nevada and California respectively, who also interbreed to make a cutbow. Cuttrout is a trout with glistering metallic scales that reflect light like a prism and help it break through icy waters. Cuttrout are pragmatics, utilising everything they can to trounce competitors and predators; one notable and funny incident involved a group of anglers reeling in a Cuttrout who proceeded to slap all twelve of them silly before diving back into the water. In the wild, they prey on Bug-types such as Spikicle and Vampinae, though are kept in check by Desvegan Ursaring, who adapted the Water-type specifically to even the odds.
*Battle Tide(Loria): The Pokémon draws in and is immune to Water-type moves. When hit by a Water-type move, boosts the Pokémon's Atk by one stage. (RedwoodRogue specified that Battle Tide is the physical counterpart to Storm Drain, so the Spreadsheet's definition might be slightly inaccurate)
Potential Competitive Role: Fillet Away is a Cuttrout option (pun intended :p) for hyper offense, with Battle Tide providing a boosting immunity for physical sets while Infiltrator deems Subs and Screens void. Just hope that the Steel-type is enough to help you survive...
(Has a 25% male/75% female gender ratio)
Name: Sylphart (Sylph + art + sweetheart)
Typing: Bug/Water
Ability: Tinted Lens / Water Veil / Dancer
Base Stats: 60 / 50 / 50 / 40 / 50 / 90 (340)
Height + Weight: 0.4 m + 2.0 kg.
Flavour/Design: Sylpharts have it rough, facing heavy competition from Frostfish and Ledybas for food and stalked by Raichats. With nothing but amateur dancing skills, they've attracted attention from infatuated Pokemon, some of which offer protection, others violation. Based on a sylph with... stripper elements.

(Use Teeter Dance 20 times against an infatuated Pokemon)
Name: Dancelfly (Dance + Damselfly)
Typing: Bug/Fairy
Ability: Tinted Lens / Shed Skin / Dancer
Base Stats: 70 / 95 / 65 / 95 / 65 / 115 (505)
Notable Moves: Bug Buzz, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Air Slash, Hurricane, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Petal Dance, Scald, Hydro Pump, Psyshock, Icy Wind, Blizzard, U-Turn, Leech Life, Spirit Break, Play Rough, Dual Wingbeat, Acrobatics, Power Whip, Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Heart Stamp, Triple Axel, Steel Wing, Quiver Dance, Victory Dance, Teeter Dance, Aqua Ring, Aromatherapy, Defog, Tailwind, Attract.
Height + Weight: 1.2 m, 19.0 kg
Flavor/Design: Sylpharts who have exhausted their dancing arts to secure a patron become Dancelfly, but this new evolution doesn't bring them joy. While their dances are noted to be much more vigorous and seductive, their expressions are hauntingly numb. This makes it popular with the jaded youths of Desvega, who see it as a symbol of Desvega's unforgiving entertainment competition. Based on the vivid dancer, a damselfly that's the state insect of Nevada, as well as prostitutes. (...This is the slate involving Las Vegas, if we haven't gotten something involving casinos in yet then might as well try incorporating the nightlife. Bonus fact, Nevada is one of the few places where prostitution is legal, sooo...)
Potential Competitive Role: You can run Physical or Special sets with a dance move of your choice, though like Ribombee, it's not exactly bulky...
Original Species: Wingull [Convergent]
Name: Winghoul (Wingull + ghoul)
Type: Ghost
Ability: Illuminate/Soaring Spirit*/Gluttony
Base Stats: 40/60/30/30/30/80 (270)
Height + Weight: 0.6m + 9.5kg
Flavour/Design: A will-o-wisp encased within a tattered plastic bag, projecting glowing, ethereal wings from holes on the side that it uses to move around, sometimes by crawling, sometimes by flying. Winghoul will attack people who litter with reckless disregard, when the offender is removed from the premises, they will consume as much rubbish as possible, because the plastic bag is easily broken.

(Level up Winghoul starting at lvl 25 at night)
Original Species: Pelipper [Convergent]
Name: Peliphear (Pelipper + fear + pier)
Type: Ghost/Flying
Ability: Dazzling/Soaring Spirit*/Gluttony
Base Stats: 45/100/55/55/100/85 (440)
Notable Moves: Shadow Sneak, Shadow Claw, Phantom Force, Poltergeist, Oil Slick, Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Dual Wingbeat, Air Dive*, Drill Peck, Brave Bird, Knock Off, U-Turn, Ominous Wind, Hex, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Air Slash, Hurricane, Snarl, Dark Pulse, Icy Wind, Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Dazzling Gleam, Destiny Bond, Roost, Tailwind, Defog, Calm Mind, Swindle*, Will-O-Wisp, Wide Guard.
Height + Weight: 1.2 m + 18 kg
Flavor/Design: The will-o-wisp's now constructed a better vessel to pilot, so now Peliphear can kidnap terrified litterers to its heart's content by scooping them in its bag and dump their dead bodies into the ocean when they're finished eating.
*Soaring Spirit (Loria): Levitate + The Pokemon's Flying-type moves are boosted by 50%.
*Air Dive (Desvega): Flying, Physical, 60 BP, 90 Acc, always crits.
*Swindle (Loria): Dark, status, The user swaps its item with the target; if successful, also switches out to a teammate.
Name: Threshbuckler (Thresher Shark + Swashbuckler)
Counterpart: Dominusse
Type: Water/Fighting
Ability: Scrappy / Vigilante* / Blademaster*
Base Stats: 70/110/50/85/65/100 (480)
Notable Moves: Aqua Jet, Aqua Cutter, Flip Turn, Aqua Tail, Upper Hand*, Sacred Sword, Superpower, Counter, Pursuit, Knock Off, Ceaseless Edge, Cross Poison, Poison Jab, Aerial Ace, Acrobatics, Bounce, Brine, Scald, Surf, Hydro Pump, Focus Blast, Icy Wind, Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Air Slash, Bulk Up, Taunt, Swords Dance, Focus Energy, Agility.
Height + Weight: 6.1 m + 500 kg
Flavour/Design: Based on a thresher shark, with elements from a swashbuckler, thus they are an male-only species. Threshbuckle proudly slices through the open waters in search of the next great adventure, brandishing their bladed, whip-like tail to slash and skewer both predator and prey with finesse. A famous Desvegan blockbuster duology involved a Threshbuckler and his Dominusse mate being stalked by a Shorror, until they each defeated the Ghost-type in a climatic battle.
*Vigilante(Brazdo): The Pokemon's offensive stat is multiplied by 1.5 while using a Fighting-type attack.
*Blademaster(Desvega): The Pokemon receives 1/2 damage from slicing moves; its own slicing moves will always result in a critical hit and do not make contact.
*Upper Hand(Paldea): Physical 80BP 100% Fighting contact move. If the target is about to use a move with increased priority, Upper Hand will strike first and always make the target to flinch, unless the target is immune to flinching; otherwise, Upper Hand will fail. Has +3 priority. [As of writing, Upper Hand has only just been announced; I've elected to use Sucker Punch as a basis to fill in the numbers for the time being.]

Name: Dominusse (Domina/Lady of the house + Nusse/What the name Nurse Shark is believed to have been corrupted from over time)
Counterpart: Threshbuckler
Type: Water/Psychic
Ability: Hydration / Sudden Guard* / Clairvoyance*
Base Stats: 70/50/100/85/110/65 (480)
Notable Moves: Aqua Jet, Bouncy Bubble, Flip Turn, Waterfall, Zen Headbutt, Psychic Fangs, Play Rough, Body Press, Whirlpool, Surf, Hydro Pump, Psyshock, Psychic, Psychic Noise*, Future Sight, Mirror Coat, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Hyper Voice, Rain Dance, Light Screen, Reflect, Rest, Trick Room, Encore, Heal Bell, Wish.
Height + Weight: 4.5 m + 330 kg
Flavour/Design: Based on a nurse shark, with elements from a Scream Queen, such as a damsel in/out of distress and a final girl, thus they are a female-only species. Dominusse are rather docile, preferring to tend to their breeding reefs and taking care of injured Pokémon that drift in; unfortunately, this also leads to opportunistic Pokémon to fake injuries so they can inflict one onto Dominusse for a snack. A famous Desvegan blockbuster duology involved a Dominusse and her Threshbuckler mate being stalked by a Shorror, until they each defeated the Ghost-type in a climatic battle.
*Sudden Guard(Loria): If the Pokemon is switching in that turn, the damage it takes from moves that are not super-effective is halved.
*Clairvoyance(Desvega): The Pokemon's offensive stat is multiplied by 1.5 while using a Psychic-type attack.
*Psychic Noise(Paldea): Special 95BP 100% Psychic sound move: Inflicts Heal Block on the target(s) for five turns. [As of writing, Psychic Noise has only just been announced; I've elected to use Hyper Voice as a basis to fill in the numbers for the time being.]
Original Species: Inkay (Convergent)
Name: Finkay (Fin + Inkay)
Type: Water
Ability: Clear Body / Illuminate / Mold Breaker
Base Stats: 46/37/53/54/53/45 (288)
Height + Weight: 0.4m + 3.5kg
Flavor/Design: If Inkay was more water-based.

(Level up Finkay after using Topsy-Turvy 30 times)
Original Species: Malamar (Convergent)
Name: Malamer (Malamar + Merfolk)
Type: Water/Fairy
Ability: Power Lock* / Dazzling / Mold Breaker
Base Stats: 86/68/90/75/90/73 (482)
Notable Moves: Liquidation, Wave Crash, Play Rough, Knock Off, Darkest Lariat, Foul Play, Drain Punch, Scald, Surf, Hydro Pump, Dazzling Gleam, Dark Pulse, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Sludge Bomb, Misty Terrain, Topsy-Turvy, Snatch, Swindle*, Leech Seed.
Height + Weight: 3.0m + 94.0kg
Flavor/Design: Based on giant squid and mermaids. Malamer, while not as sinister as Malamar, as nonetheless as mischievous, making a fool out of underwater divers who get too close to its territory. There's a popular game show in Desvega where contestants try to bypass an obstacle course without getting humiliated by the Malamer lurking underneath.
*Power Lock(Desvega): When the Pokemon is on the field, damages other Pokemon currently in battle that have at least one stat boost and/or debuff at the end of each turn by 1/8th of their max HP; if a Pokémon affected by Power Lock attempts to use a move that could boost its own stats, they take damage equal to 25% of their max HP and cannot execute the move (PP is still consumed). The Pokémon is also immune to other Pokémon's Power Lock.
*Swindle (Loria): Dark, status, The user swaps its item with the target; if successful, also switches out to a teammate.

Potential Competitive Role: 100/95/95 isn't shabby defenses at all for a Strength Sap poison type. It can U-Turn and set all 3 hazards so use it carefully. Uturn can have value over flip because while more things resist it, nothing blocks it outright with a bug absorb ability.

Added Moves: Sap Strength, Bulk Up, Iron Head, Close Combat, Nasty Plot
Potential Competitive Role: 100+ in all offensive stats is great. Boom Burst and Gunk Blast are brutally strong. The coverage needs help. Corrosive can help a lot as steel, ghost and rock types or Earthquake if those types aren't airborne. Probably wishes it had a fire move. Water is okay for airborne ghosts.

Potential Competitive Role: It's Lanturn with actual survival. Its bulk is decent, no recovery however so be cautious. A fun alternative to Rotom Wash, try to swap in on a good electric like the rat! Speaking of the rat...

Name: Crayoct ("Crayon" + "Octopus")
Forms: Crayoct's defining feature is that it can be found in different colors; Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Brown. Could be denoted as Crayoct-Red, Crayoct-Blue, etc.
Type: Water
Stats: 72 HP / 88 Atk / 64 Def / 120 Sp.Atk / 64 Sp.Def / 104 Speed (BST: 512)
Abilities: Suction Cups* / Water Veil // Protean
Moves: Aqua Jet, Liquidation, Hydro Pump, Surf, Whirlpool, Soak, Bind, Ink Burst, Camouflage, Disable, Recover, Reflect Type, Sleep Talk, Smoke Screen, Octolock, Acrobatics, Gunk Shot, Sludge Bomb, Clear Smog, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Calm Mind, Rest, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Nasty Plot, Taunt
Description: Crayoct is an octopus-like Pokemon that can be found in a variety of environments. It changes it color to suit its situational needs.
Competitive Use: Special attacker with good coverage

Updated Effect: Prevents the opponent from switching Pokemon using moves like U-turn, Volt Switch or Parting Shot in addition to its current effect.
Reasoning: It makes sense thematically since suction cups help things stick and I think that having some form of stop-gap for switch moves would be healthy for the game.
Type: Normal
Category: Special
Power: 90
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10 (16 with 3 PP Ups)
Effect: Changes type based on Crayoct's color. Lowers the targets speed by 1 stage (30% chance). Hits adjacent opponents in double and triple battles, and is non-contact.

EDIT: Fixed grammar
Red - Fire
Blue - Flying
Yellow - Electric
Pink - Fairy
Brown - Ground

Name: Whalin ("Whale" + diminuitive suffix "-lin")
Evolution: Dorsong (Level 38)
Type: Water
Stats: 70 HP / 60 Atk / 30 Def / 60 Sp.Atk / 30 Sp.Def / 40 Speed (290 BST)
Abilities: Thick Fat / Swift Swim // Liquid Voice
Moves: Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Liquidation, Waterfall, Wave Crash, Hydro Pump, Surf, Brine, Life Dew*, Double-Edge, Echoed Voice, Hyper Voice, Round, Perish Song, Sing, Sleep Talk, Zen Headbutt, Synchronoise*, Rest, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Dragonbreath, Dragon Dance, Crunch, Dark Pulse, Iron Tail
Description: Whalin is a juvenile killer whale-like Pokemon. It travels in pods of many members and will work in teams to hunt fish Pokemon. It communicates with its pod members through a series of clicks and whistles that almost sounds like singing.
Potential Competitive Use: Potentially a Little Cup rain sweeper.

Updated Effect: Now recovers 1/3 Hitpoints (rounded up) but in rainy weather it recovers 1/2 HP rounded up.
Reasoning: Brings it in line with other recovery moves but at the cost of being forced to use it during rain. Rather than make it an exact copy of Jungle Healing and Lunar Blessing, I want it to have more healing because currently, the move is relatively weak.
Old Effect: Only affects Pokemon that share a type with the user, 120 power.
Updated Effect: 60 power naturally, 60 power added for every type shared between the target and the user. Ex: Sigilyph's Synchronoise would be 60 power against Gengar, 120 power against Gallade and 180 power against Swoobat.
Reasoning: This move is garbage LOL.
Name: Dorsong ("Dorsal Fin" + "Song")
Evolution: Orking (Trade while holding a Dragon Scale)
Type: Water
Stats: 85 HP / 80 Atk / 60 Def / 80 Sp.Atk / 60 Sp.Def / 55 Speed (420 BST)
Abilities: Thick Fat / Swift Swim // Liquid Voice
Moves: Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Liquidation, Waterfall, Wave Crash, Hydro Pump, Surf, Brine, Life Dew*, Double-Edge, Echoed Voice, Hyper Voice, Round, Perish Song, Sing, Sleep Talk, Zen Headbutt, Rest, Psychic, Synchronoise, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Breaking Swipe, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Dragonbreath, Dragon Dance, Crunch, Foul Play, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, Switcheroo, Iron Tail
Description: Dorsong is an orca-like Pokemon. Its dorsal fin is more developed than that of Whalin. It is capable of producing more complex tonal variations than Whalin.
Potential Competitive Use: Potentially an NFE rain sweeper or Choice Specs user with Liquid Voice.
Name: Orking "(Orca" + "King")
Type: Water / Dragon
Stats: 111 HP / 100 Atk / 70 Def / 104 Sp.Atk / 70 Sp.Def / 60 Speed (525 BST)
Abilities: Thick Fat / Swift Swim // Liquid Voice
Moves: Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Liquidation, Waterfall, Wave Crash, Hydro Pump, Surf, Brine, Life Dew*, Breaking Swipe, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Draco Meteor, Dragonbreath, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Dance, Double-Edge, Echoed Voice, Hyper Voice, Round, Noble Roar, Perish Song, Sing, Sleep Talk, Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Synchronoise, Calm Mind, Rest, Trick Room, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Crunch, Foul Play, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, Switcheroo, Taunt, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Dazzling Gleam
Description: Orking is a mature orca-like Pokemon. Often the leader of a pod of Whalin and Dorsong, its singing is said to be heart-wrenching. It is much more regal and majestic than Whalin and Dorsong. While it is beautiful, it is very vicious when hunting.
Potential Competitive Use: Rain sweeper, Liquid Voice special attacker with Calm Mind or even a Dragon Dance Pokemon. It can also use Life Dew to keep itself healthy when in rain.

Name: Zingray ("Zing" + "Ray" or "Stingray")
Type: Poison/Electric
Stats: 63 HP / 88 Atk / 63 Def / 90 Sp.Atk / 68 Sp.Def / 120 Speed (492 BST)
Abilities: Swift Swim / Volt Absorb // Levitate
Moves: Poison Jab, Poison Tail, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Venoshock, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Wild Charge, Zing Zap, Discharge, Electroweb, Electro Ball, Parabolic Charge, Rising Voltage, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Zap Cannon, Electric Terrain, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Weather Ball, Pain Split, Protect, Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Waterfall, Brine, Hydro Pump, Surf, Whirlpool, Fell Stinger, Sand Tomb, Mud Shot, Shadow Ball, Zen Headbutt, Psybeam, Extrasensory, Icy Wind, Iron Tail
Description: Zingray is a stingray-like Pokemon that uses its tail to paralyze its prey before it finishes it off.
Potential Competitive Use: Fast offensive electric type that can set up Toxic Spikes and dance around with Volt Switch. Can play in rain to take advantage of 100% accuracy Thunder, it also beats grass types that can fight against rain.

Name: Cramorant-Desvega
Typing:

Ability: Gulp Cannon*
Base Stats: 80 HP / 75 Atk / 75 Def / 75 SpA / 95 SpD / 75 Spe (475 BST)
Notable Moves: Surf, Hydro Pump, Scald, Ice Beam, Acid Spray, Clear Smog, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Venoshock, Flip Turn, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Defog, Rapid Spin, Poison Terrain, Roost, Gastro Acid
Height + Weight: 0.9m / 20kg
Flavour/Design: Based on a combination between cormorants and grebes, Desvegan Cramorant have wings too small for flight, but are much better swimmers than Galarian Cramorant. They swim through kelp forests and rocky reefs searching for fish Pokemon to eat. They developed an immunity to poison through their predation of poisonous Pokemon like Skrelp, Qwilfish, and Mareanie. They can use the poisons obtained from their prey to defend themselves from attackers.
Potential Competitive Role: solid bulk and defensive typing with Eviolite
Gulp Cannon* - functions like Gulp Missile except exclusive to Desvegan Cramorant and Toxirant; the Gulping Form lowers SpD by 1 stage while the Gorging Form poisons the attacker (Desvegan Cramorant catches Mareanie, Toxirant catches Toxapex)

Name: Toxirant (toxicant, or toxic + cormorant)
Typing:

Ability: Gulp Cannon*
Base Stats: 110 HP / 75 Atk / 90 Def / 90 SpA / 105 SpD / 65 Spe (545 BST)
Notable Moves: Surf, Hydro Pump, Scald, Ice Beam, Acid Spray, Clear Smog, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Venoshock, Flip Turn, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Defog, Rapid Spin, Poison Terrain, Roost, Gastro Acid, Aqua Ballet*
Aqua Ballet* (Loria) - status, raises SpA and Spe by 1 stage, dance move
Height + Weight: 1.5m / 40kg
Flavour/Design: Based on a combination between cormorants and grebes, Toxirant can't fly but are amazingly graceful swimmers. Unfortunately, they maintain their family's gluttony which causes them to attempt swallowing anything they can while diving for food. Instead of finding Pikachu, they manage to get Toxapex stuck in their large beaks.
Potential Competitive Role: bulky with good defensive typing, poison spreader, bulky pivot, hazard removal

Name: Teeniweed (teeny + weed)
Typing:

Ability: Water Absorb / Rocky Payload / Grass Surge (HA)
Base Stats: 40 HP / 60 Atk / 60 Def / 40 SpA / 40 SpD / 40 Spe (280 BST)
Notable Moves: Power Whip, Aromatherapy, Grassy Glide, Synthesis, Growth, Leech Seed, Stealth Rock, Rock Slide, Liquidation
Height + Weight: 0.3m / 4kg
Flavour/Design: This line is based on rockweed, a type of kelp that grows clinging tightly to rocks. Teeniweed is a small piece of kelp holding tightly onto a rock. It is small and shy, growing in shallow pools that can be either freshwater or saltwater. When ready to evolve, Teeniweed gathers more rocks and covers itself with them. Evolves at level 18.
Potential Competitive Role: LC Grassy Terrain setter, rocks setter, cleric

Name: Kelpsul (kelp + capsule)
Typing:

Ability: Water Absorb / Stone House* / Grassy Surge (HA)
Base Stats: 60 HP / 80 Atk / 95 Def / 55 SpA / 55 SpD / 55 Spe (400 BST)
Notable Moves: Power Whip, Aromatherapy, Grassy Glide, Synthesis, Growth, Leech Seed, Shore Up, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum, Liquidation, Razor Shell, Iron Defense, Body Press
Height + Weight: 1m / 30kg
Flavour/Design: Kelpsul is a larger stem of kelp that has encased itself in a rocky shell, which it uses for defense and offense. When it has absorbed enough energy from its environment, it travels around on its roots searching for a particularly rare rock to incorporate into its shell. Evolves when traded while holding a King's Rock.
Potential Competitive Role: NFE Grassy Terrain setter, rocks setter, cleric, Eviolite physical tank
Stone House* (Brazdo) - +2 Defense upon switching in on Stealth Rock

Name: Kelplossus (kelp + colossus)
Typing:

Ability: Water Absorb / Stone House* / Grassy Surge (HA)
Base Stats: 90 HP / 105 Atk / 130 Def / 65 SpA / 65 SpD / 65 Spe (520 BST)
Notable Moves: Power Whip, Aromatherapy, Grassy Glide, Synthesis, Growth, Leech Seed, Shore Up, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum, Liquidation, Razor Shell, Iron Defense, Body Press
Height + Weight: 2.5m / 120kg
Flavour/Design: Based on giant kelp and stone golems/titans, Kelplossus is a large bundle of kelp encased in large rocks, with a crown-shaped rock on top of its body. While it prefers to live calmly in shallow waters around rocky reefs and marshes, when threatened it will shift the rocks around its body to form a four-legged and multi-armed golem to defend itself. Kelplossus allows people it trusts to harvest some of its leaves, which are full of nutrients and contain binding substances that can be used in all sorts of products from foods to makeup.
Potential Competitive Role: Grassy Terrain setter, rocks setter, cleric, physical tank
Stone House* (Brazdo) - +2 Defense upon switching in on Stealth Rock

hi im back with subs- oh we're on slate 10 huh
Name: Lampranium
Typing: Dark / Psychic
Ability: Storm Drain / Swift Swim (Hadal Zone)
This Pokemon takes 50% damage from Dark-type moves. Its own have 1.2x power.
Base Stats: 110 / 106 / 87 / 46 / 121 / 60 (530 BST)
Notable Moves: Latch On, Crunch, Bite, Wave Crash, Psycho Cut, Zen Headbutt, Beat Up, Giga Drain, Leech Life, Pursuit, Strength Sap
Dark-type - Status - 16 PP - --- Accuracy
This Pokemon protects itself from all damage. When contact is made, it disables the move that hit it for 3 turns. Cannot disable 2 moves on the same Pokemon. (Baneful Bunker but it's Disable)
Height + Weight: 2 m, 60 kg
New Features: you can let hadal zone + latch on cook on other stuff idc
Flavour/Design: It's a big brain lamprey. Living in the deep water for so long has caused it to abandon its physical abilities in favor of mental ones. Despite that, it's still a physical attacker because I said so.
Potential Competitive Role: what if a dark / psychic type didn't have to worry about U-Turn as much? It's pretty prediction reliant, but if it can Latch On to a pivoting move, it can basically force out a hard switch- which it can capitalize off of with Hadal Zone-boosted Pursuit. Benefits a lot from the addition of like 20 ghosts last slate, but the typing is still awful, and if you predict wrong, gg you're getting U-Turned into the grave.

Name: Neuroe
Typing: Water / Psychic
Ability: Storm Drain / Illuminate (Telepathy)
Base Stats: 60 / 56 / 42 / 20 / 70 / 10 (258 BST)
Notable Moves: Psycho Cut, Zen Headbutt, Beat Up, Giga Drain, Leech Life, Pursuit, Strength Sap
Height + Weight: 0.1m - 0.1kg
Flavour/Design: A cluster of neuron-shaped eggs.
Potential Competitive Role: lc (garbagemon bc it's eggs lmao)

Name: Emperaperl (emperador, Spanish for emperor + Clamperl)
Type:

Abilities: Mirror Armor, Iron Barbs
Stats: 70 | 77 | 140 | 81 | 85 | 32 [BST =485]
Notable Moves: Aqua Ring, Clamp, Explosion, Flash Cannon, Heal Bell, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Ice Spinner, Iron Defense, Iron Head, Scald, Shell Smash, Spikes, Thunderbolt
Aqua Ring Rework: User sets a veil of water on their side of the field for five turns. While active, the veil restores 1/16 max HP at the end of each turn and prevents/cures burns.
Competitive Role: Physical wall and cleric mon. Yes, Emperaperl does get Shell Smash, because of its poor speed it's not exactly inclined to sweep teams. Gets Aqua Ring and Heal Bell for status curing, and while its movepool isn't great, it does at least have BoltBeam coverage. This mon would also come with a buff to Huntail and Gorebyss (because lord knows they need it)

Flavor: A larger Clamperl, with the clam lined with steel and the pearl coated in a metallic sheen. The fleshy cushion stuff (whatever it is) that surrounds the pearl is more spiky and can spill out of the shell. Based on clams and pearls like, erm, Clamperl, but specifically draws inspiration from the black pearls of Baja California.
Evolution Tree: Clamperl -(Level up/Trade holding a DeepSeaTooth)> Huntail
-(Level up/Trade holding a DeepSeaScale)> Gorebyss
-(Level up/Trade holding a Metal Coat)> Emperaperl

aaand that'll probably be it for this slate. Maybe I'll suddenly come up with something good in time but I don't have any other good ideas atm

Quick check, both Huntail and Gorebyss have 485 BST, not 500 BST.

You would either adjust Emperaperl‘s BST down to the others’ level or raise a few stats of Huntail and Gorebyss to make them both have 500 BST.

EDIT: Also from this on, it would be nice if we don’t do “pre-evo + stuff” and “universal Gen 9 moves” as our coder anaconja doesn’t appreciate those things. Even I went for this blunder, so we should be more precise next time.

EDIT 2: 48 hours warning due to slowed down activity.

I COULD BE BANNED!
:sv/urshifu::sv/grapploct::sv/urshifu-rapid-strike:
Original Species: New evolution (Grapploct)
Name: Octopunch (Evolves after learning Hydro Pump)
Typing:

Ability: Technician / Unseen Fist / Torpedo(HA)
Base Stats: 100 / 118 / 100 / 70 / 100 / 42 (BST:530)
Notable Moves: Taunt, Sucker Punch, Drain Punch, Wicked Blow, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Octolock, Aqua Jet, Surging Strikes, Bulk Up, Earthquake
Height + Weight:
Height: 2m
Weight: 87kg
Flavour/Design: I wanted to make an aquatic Pokemon that didn't have a Water typing, so I chose Grapploct, because it's a fish out of water. (Or in this case, an octopus). I chose Urshifu as my references because they were made in the same generation, and there was also a discussion video where i saw Grapploct and Urshifu-Rapid on the front page.
Potential Competitive Role: Stallbreaker, Physical Wallbreaker,

Torpedo = All Water have 1.5x power (Can be distributed to other Pokemon)

Veto phases open today, and from this one on, we decided to take a more direct approach both here and Discord.

This allows for more community-driven modifications and allows competitive experts to chime in.

As usual, it lasts for 48 hours.

If there is anything concerning but is from a user that is not available / is inactive in Discord, please let me know here!

EDIT: I’ll let Falchion’s late submission slide since it were literally a minute after my announcement.

OK, time to work my pet mod submission magic once again. Hopefully I'll be able to submit to at least some of the upcoming slates for this mod going forward! Hopefully I'm not too late with this one...

The Aquapede Pokémon
A Venipede adapted for life on tropical shores. With its many paddle-like legs, it's able to hunt in the water as effectively as on land.
In habitats these Venipede share with Wimpod, the former may prey upon the latter. Whoever wins depends on which is faster.

Updated Type: Bug/Water
Updated Abilities: Swift Swim/Swarm (HA Speed Boost)
Updated Stats: 30/59/45/30/39/57 = 260
Removed Moves: Poison Sting, Poison Tail, Venoshock, Toxic, Venom Drench, Megahorn (not technically removed entirely, but placed in TMs, egg moves, or tutor moves where applicable)
Replacement Moves: Aqua Jet, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Soak, Water Sport, X-Scissor
New TMs: All Water-type TM moves
Flavor/Design: This semi-aquatic Venipede has a somewhat flatter, narrower body than its Unovan counterpart, which is yellowish green in color instead of maroon. The red-colored antennae on its head and tail are also more feather-like in shape, not unlike moth antennae, and act as rudimentary gills underwater; its eyes are the same shade of red, too. The biggest change from Unovan Venipede however is the shape of its legs, which are much longer and more paddle-like, sticking out to the side rather than below it; on land, these bend downwards at the halfway point so it can skitter along like a house centipede, which is what this design was based on; turns out, house centipedes are quite capable if reluctant swimmers on the water's surface.
Stat and Gameplay Changes: Literally all I did with this stat spread was switch the physical Attack and Defense around - the better to use the physical Water-type moves it can learn, since I imagine this line to be physically oriented - and yes, as ridiculously fast as ever.
The Floatipede Pokémon
Air sacs in its hardened body allow it to float on water. Its spikes and antennae have become fins to quickly roll away from predators across the ocean surface.
In the past, these Whirlipede were used to propel small watercraft. The paddle-wheels on many Desvegan boats are still modeled after these Pokemon today.

Updated Type: Bug/Water
Updated Abilities: Swift Swim/Swarm (HA Speed Boost)
Updated Stats: 40/99/55/40/79/47 = 360
Removed Moves: Poison Sting, Poison Tail, Venoshock, Toxic, Venom Drench (not technically removed entirely, but placed in TMs or tutor moves where applicable)
Replacement Moves: Aqua Jet, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Soak, Water Sport
New TMs: All Water-type TM moves
Flavor/Design: A Whirlipede whose color scheme is a pale aquamarine rather than light purple, this one has spikes that are more teardrop-shaped and laterally flattened, as well as oriented the "wrong way" compared to Unovan Whirlipede. That's because it uses them to act like a paddle wheel for water travel in the same way that its Unovan cousin rolls on land. It has the same red, feather-shaped antennae as its pre-evolution, with solid circular markings on its back that are the same shade of red; its eyes are that red color as well. The color of the gray areas is unchanged.
Stat and Gameplay Changes: Same as Desvegan Venipede.
The Hydropede Pokémon
With its flipper-like legs, it can scuttle and swim with equal speed and prowess, catching its prey off guard. The barbs on its long neck act like pincers to clutch its meal with an iron grip.
Old legends of strange, armored sea serpents may have come about from sightings of Taractipede sticking its neck out of the ocean. On rare occasions, it may hunt in freshwater as well.

Name Origin: Traction or Cataract (a type of waterfall) + Centipede
Type: Bug/Water
Abilities: Swift Swim/Swarm (HA Speed Boost)
Stats: 60/112/69/89/55/100 = 485
New Moves: Hone Claws (replacing Baton Pass), Wave Crash (replacing Double-Edge)
Evolution: From Desvegan Whirlipede at level 30
Flavor/Design: Narrower in girth and somewhat lower to the ground than Scolipede, Tractipede's main legs are shaped like flippers rather than walking limbs, making it less like a "horse-ipede" and more like a vintage plesiosaur or even classic depictions of Nessie. Its "torso" is somewhat thicker than the "neck", but not by much, the whole creature being a little more serpentine than your typical Elasmosaurus. The head is unchanged except for the red feathery antennae which are now long and shaped like Grovyle's head leaf, sweeping down and behind the back of the head, and a pair of huge, serrated, red pincers like Durant's mandibles on either side of its face. Smaller, non-serrated red pincers also bristle from each armor segment of its long, flexible neck, which can even stretch out to seize prey from afar. There are now four large, feathery, red antennae on the tail end, forming a fan on its butt like a peacock's tail or perhaps that of a shrimp. The color scheme, incidentally, is like that of a peacock mantis shrimp, a stunning yellowish-green with blue-green spots (no holes in the center) on the sides of the armor segments. If anything, the whole Pokémon looks like the Loch Ness Monster and a certain species of giant centipede had a gloriously horrifying baby together, one that hunts prey underwater by striking with blinding speed using its extendable, flexible neck and the brutal, crunching pincers equipped upon it.
In all stages of this line, the shiny color scheme is like that of the Unovan Venipede line's normal color scheme... except for a brighter, more red-orange tint like a boiled lobster instead of maroon, not unlike Crawdaunt.
Gameplay Info: Starting from Scolipede's stat spread of 60/100/89/55/69/112, I switched Speed and physical Attack, and then rearranged the other stats aside from HP to make this a decently fast mixed attacker with a physical bias - in fact, it's actually slower than Scolipede due to having flippers instead of feet, though Speed Boost or Swift Swim would definitely make up for that. Liquidation is a no-brainer for this thing, and Megahorn is still learnable as an egg move from Heracross if it helps any, though X-Scissor ain't half bad either with that 112 Attack stat. The same fun support stuff like Spikes, Earthquake, and Swords Dance are also applicable, and with the ability to learn Rain Dance as a TM, it can boost its own speed using Swift Swim and double as a rain-setting lead for Water Monotype teams.

The main inspiration for this variant was Scolopendra cataracta, a species of the same genus that inspired Scolipede itself, but which happens to be semiaquatic, and was first found around several waterfalls in Thailand. If there was anything that would be useful as a water Ride Pokémon in Desvega, it'd probably be this guy. Its somewhat plesiosaur-like shape is inspired by various accounts of serpentine sea and lake monsters, including the centipede-like con-rit of Vietnam as well as Tahoe Tessie, said to live in North America's largest alpine lake, Lake Tahoe, located in Nevada and California. I know we already have Lapras as the premiere Nessie-based Pokemon, but I figured it'd be fun to give a nod to the more traditional, monstrous lake cryptid, especially for one straight from the real-world locations Desvega is based upon.
