Looking at a near unanimous vote toward Pumentum, we might as well end it now.

Congratulations for Beebos with the Pumentum line winning via tiebreaker! And now, for the next slate.

Slate 8 - Rainforests, Jungles and Flower Fields, Oh My!
:sv/sawsbuck::sv/teddiursa::sv/shroomish::sv/illumise::sv/volbeat::sv/florges:

Forests are a frequent environment found in many Pokémon mainline games and fangames, with a vareity of Grass-type, Bug-type and Fairy-type Pokémon frequently found in there. That said, this is a place that still allows a variety of other types if precedences are any indication. Expect a mushroom Pokémon with Spore to be found there!

Here’s the Rules
- This slate is kind of a free slate, but any flavor you make for you submissions must be forest-related. You can still be quite flexible with this (ex: Pikachu living in Viridian Forest), but make sure to address it.
- You may sub up to 4 unique evolutionary lines of Pokémon. These lines can include split evolutions.
- There is no hard BST limit for this slate, though you should stay reasonable unless you have a good flavor justification like Slaking.
- As for what's typical for a standard Pokémon, final evolutions tend to peak around the 520-530 range, sometimes going into the 540s for stuff like cross gen evolutions or Gyarados. Florges and Arcanine are the only two non-flavor exceptions to this, being over 550, with the others (Slaking and Archeops) having flavor reasons. Standalone Pokémon tend to stay below 500, especially for early-to-midgame mons, though there are a lot of exceptions for later game mons like Duraludon or Dhelmise.
- Pokémon that live in caves are usually Rock, Ground, Steel, or Fighting-type, but you can be flexible with it (ex: Bat Pokémon that live in caves have been Poison, Psychic, and Dragon and all of them are Flying).
- You can sub regional forms for this slate. Make sure to not make a repeat of Galarian Darmanitan power-wise!

The chart below is a count for non-Legendary fully evolved Pokémon so far. Ice now overtook Steel for total of fully evolved Pokémon, and Electric still sits at a miserable one, with Psychic and Rock behind with two. Avoid making new Ice-types for the time being.

As usual, submissions lasts for six days, and veto phase would lasts for one or two days.

Name: Poppilar (Poppy + Popular)
Typing: Grass
Abilities: Sweet Veil / Misty Surge / Good As Gold
Base Stats: 45 / 30 / 40 / 65 / 40 / 20 (240)
Height + Weight: 0.2 m + 2.2 kg
Flavor/Design: Based on a budding poppy seed.

(Use a Sun Stone with max friendship)
Name: Poptimist (Poppy + Optimist)
Typing: Grass
Abilities: Flower Veil / Misty Surge / Good As Gold
Base Stats: 90 / 60 / 90 / 130 / 90 / 20 (480)
Notable Moves: Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Leaf Storm, Psyshock, Psychic, Future Sight, Dazzling Gleam, Earth Power, Aura Sphere, Boomburst, Pollen Puff, Weather Ball, Strength Sap, Leech Seed, Ingrain, Trick Room, Calm Mind, Helping Hand.
Height + Weight: 0.8 m / 8.5 kg
Flavour/Design: Based on the California poppy, California Sunlight/Cup Of Gold, the official state flower of California, as well as cheerleaders. Its head is circular with golden petals growing along the rim like Sunflora, its body is a long stem that flares out into multiple root-like portions on the bottom similar to Arboliva, while its hands are like flower pompoms, similar to Roselia's.
Poptimist are incapable of being sad, and will always be on the lookout to turn any frown upside down!
Potential Competitive Role: Trick Room user that blocks status effects/stat changes, halves Dragon-type moves/status effects or nullify status moves.
(Has a 25% male/75% female gender ratio)
Name: Sylphart (Sylph + art + sweetheart)
Typing: Bug/Water
Ability: Tinted Lens / Water Veil / Dancer
Base Stats: 60 / 50 / 50 / 40 / 50 / 90 (340)
Height + Weight: 0.4 m, 2.0 kg.
Flavour/Design: Sylpharts have it rough, facing heavy competition from Spikicles and Ledybas for food and stalked by Raichats. With nothing but amateur dancing skills, they've adapted... intimate relationships... with other Pokemon or even unsavoury trainers in a attempt for protection. While some are successful, others risk violation. Based on a sylph with... stripper elements.

(Use Teeter Dance 20 times against an infatuated Pokemon)
Name: Dancelfly (Dance + Damselfly)
Typing: Bug/Fairy
Ability: Tinted Lens / Shed Skin / Dancer
Base Stats: 70 / 95 / 65 / 95 / 65 / 115 (505)
Notable Moves: Bug Buzz, Pollen Puff, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Air Slash, Hurricane, Energy Ball, Petal Dance, Scald, Hydro Pump, Psyshock, Icy Wind, Blizzard, U-Turn, Leech Life, Spirit Break, Play Rough, Dual Wingbeat, Acrobatics, Petal Blizzard, Power Whip, Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Heart Stamp, Steel Wing, Quiver Dance, Victory Dance, Teeter Dance, Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Soak, Aromatherapy, Defog, Tailwind, Sticky Web, Attract.
Height + Weight: 1.2 m, 19.0 kg
Flavor/Design: Sylpharts who have mastered their dancing arts become Dancelfly, but this new evolution doesn't bring them joy. As much as they dislike the lifestyle they've chosen, at the same time it does give them a measure of safety and security against predators than they once feared, so for better or worse, it's what they'll continue to do. The behaviour, ironically enough, makes it popular with jaded youths of Desvega, who see it as a symbol of Desvega's unforgiving entertainment competition. Based on the vivid dancer, a damselfly that's the state insect of Nevada, as well as strippers and exotic dancers. (...This is the slate involving Las Vegas, if we haven't gotten something involving casinos in yet then might as well try incorporating the nightlife.)
Potential Competitive Role: You can run Physical or Special sets with a dance move of your choice, though like Ribombee, it's not exactly bulky...
(Lvl up Joltik starting at lvl 36 in Desvega)
Name: Galvantula-Desvega
Type: Ground/Electric
Ability: Tinted Lens/Grounding*/Swarm
Base Stats: 60 / 70 / 60 / 107 / 60 / 115 (472)
Notable Moves: Joltik's movepool + Earthquake, Accelerock, Smack Down, Foul Play, Earth Power, Acid Spray, Sludge Bomb, Stealth Rock, Silk Trap, Toxic Thread*.
Height + Weight: 0.8 m + 14.3 kg
Flavour + Design: In addition to the tarantula, it's also based on desert recluse spiders, which also gives reason for the numerous Poison-type moves learnt by it. In Desvega, Joltik were hunted by Charparoll and Raichat, which drove the Galvantula underground to protect their offspring, developing the Ground-type and much stronger voltage to ambush their new predators as a consequence. Just picture the Galvantula with a more sandy colour and rocky fur.
*Grounding: When the Pokémon is grounded, it can inflict paralysis on any Pokemon even if they're an Electric-type, as well as damage Ground-type Pokémon with Electric-type moves for neutral damage.
*Toxic Thread: Now lowers the target's Speed by two stages and inflicts bad poison.
(Lvl up Ekans starting at lvl 22 in Desvega)
Name: Arbok-Desvega
Type: Poison/Ground
Ability: Rattled/Shed Skin/Traveller(!)
Base Stats: 60 / 115 / 69 / 45 / 69 / 90 (448)
Notable Moves: Arbok's movepool - Dragon Tail, Fire/Ice/Thunder Fang + Terra Charge($), Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Sappy Seed.
Flavour + Design: In addition to cobras, they're based on rattlesnakes. Someone tried and failed a convergent Arbok, so here's a Desvegan one.
No one really knows how Ekans managed to arrive in Desvega, but either way, they seem to be terrified of Arcognition something, so they hid, the Arboks losing their iconic hood pattern for a more flexible one and picking up a Ground-type for self defence.
(!)Traveller: Immunity to all entry hazards; upon switching in, remove all entry hazards off this Pokémon’s side.
($)Terra Charge: Ground-type Double Edge that has a 10% chance to lower the target's Speed by one stage.

Original Species: Evolution of Sudowoodo
Pokémon: Shnaniganopy
Typing:

Stats: 130 HP / 140 Atk / 145 Def / 30 SpA / 80 SpD / 10 Spe / 535 BST
Abilities: Sturdy / Rock Head | Tall Order
When this Pokemon has more than 1/2 its maximum HP and takes damage from an attack bringing it to 1/2 or less of its maximum HP, its Special Defense is raised by 1 stage. This effect applies after all hits from a multi-hit move. This effect is prevented if the move had a secondary effect removed by the Sheer Force Ability. (Berserk clone)
Movepool: Sudowoodo’s movepool + Fissure, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Horn Leech, Ice Hammer, Ingrain, Iron Head
Weight: 921.6 kg
Flavor: The redwood forests are iconic to NorCal, featuring the very tallest and some of the oldest trees on earth. It’s only natural that a certain wood impersonator would want to reach the same heights as these beloved trees.
Sudowoodo that aspire to be as large as Desvega’s tallest trees evolve into Shnaniganopy, a Pokémon of titanic proportions and one of the largest ever discovered. Despite Shnaniganopy’s towering presence, it is not much better at pretending to be a tree, as it still has the telltale texture of stone. Since it’s too large and heavy to move, Shenaniganopy must grin and bear it when it rains. Name is a portmanteau of "shenanigans'' (contracted due to character limit) and "canopy."
Role: Big tank. Can sustain itself through Drain Punch or Horn Leech. Tall Order can patch up its weaker SpD and is esp strong on Curse sets. Aside from that, can be a fat hazard setter, having access to both Rocks and Spikes, or use AV so it can sponge hits and dish em out.
Height: 19.0 m
New Feature: Tall Order is the signature ability of Shnaniganopy.

Name: Junipage (juniper + sage)
Typing:

Ability: Natural Cure / Own Tempo / Regenerator (HA)
Base Stats: 45 HP / 30 Atk / 50 Def / 50 SpA / 60 SpD / 35 Spe (270 BST)
Notable Moves: Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Aromatherapy, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Magic Powder, Psychic, Psyshock, Calm Mind, Trick Room, Synthesis, Growth, Leech Seed, Shadow Ball
Height + Weight: 0.3m / 7kg
Flavour/Design: Junipage is a small, quiet Pokemon with a round body that prefers to rest among tree branches and bushes. Sometimes mistaken for an Oran Berry, they spray a bitter, greyish dust at anyone who tries to pick them up. This dust not only temporarily blinds their target but also confuses them and can cause short-term memory loss. Junipage dust is currently being researched for potential use in medicines to treat achy muscles as well as anxiety. Based on juniper berries, Junipage has a round, bluish berry-like body shaped like Smoliv or Sunkern with a short stem and small leaves on top.
Potential Competitive Role: LC Decently bulky with Eviolite, Regenerator pivot, has Sleep Powder and Aromatherapy for team support

Name: Salviage (salve + sage)
Typing:

Ability: Natural Cure / Own Tempo / Regenerator (HA)
Base Stats: 65 HP / 45 Atk / 65 Def / 70 SpA / 90 SpD / 45 Spe (380 BST)
Notable Moves: Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Aromatherapy, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Magic Powder, Psychic, Psyshock, Calm Mind, Trick Room, Synthesis, Growth, Leech Seed, Shadow Ball, Future Sight, Aura Sphere, Dazzling Gleam, Teleport
Height + Weight: 0.6m / 13kg
Flavour/Design: Salviage is often sought after for its leaves, which are highly prized for making medicinal mixtures. Salviage leaf tea is known for its calming, restorative effects. The leaves can also be ground into a paste to make healing poultices for injuries. Unlike Junipage, Salviage has control over whether its grey dust affects others, which it appears to control psychically. Based on white sage plants of the Salvia genus, Salviage has a greyish green stem with two arms that end in leaves. Leaves on its head and face give the appearance of a veil.
Potential Competitive Role: NFE Slow RegenPort pivot, has Sleep Powder, Aromatherapy, Future Sight

Name: Eversage (forever + sage)
Typing:

Ability: Natural Cure / Own Tempo / Regenerator (HA)
Base Stats: 95 HP / 55 Atk / 85 Def / 100 SpA / 120 SpD / 55 Spe (510 BST)
Notable Moves: Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Aromatherapy, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Magic Powder, Psychic, Psyshock, Calm Mind, Trick Room, Synthesis, Growth, Leech Seed, Shadow Ball, Future Sight, Aura Sphere, Dazzling Gleam, Flash Cannon, Earth Power, Teleport
Height + Weight: 2m / 80kg
Flavour/Design: Eversage are said to be among the oldest ever living Pokemon, and as such, they are considered extremely wise. They have a calm disposition that seems to have a calming effect on nearby people and Pokemon; anyone near an Eversage loses any desire to fight and has their anxieties calmed. For this reason, Eversage are often recruited for their presence in stressful places like hospitals, schools, and workplaces, as well as in temples and places where people meditate or worship. Wild Eversage are rather rare, but they are frequently found in the company of Pokemon like Oranguru, Medicham, and Arboliva. Their leaves can be used to make an herbal calming tea. Based on bristlecone pines, the longest living known tree species, Eversage has a pale grey-blue trunk covered with leaves that form a robe, and two branches as arms that are often held low. Leaves on its calm face give the appearance of a wise man's beard and bushy eyebrows.
Potential Competitive Role: Slow RegenPort defensive pivot, has Sleep Powder to put things to sleep, Aromatherapy, Future Sight, can set Trick Room for itself/teammates

Name: Boltowl
Counterpart: Psychawk
Typing:

Ability: Keen Eye / Volt Absorb (HA)
Base Stats: 75 HP / 100 Atk / 85 Def / 90 SpA / 85 SpD / 75 Spe (510 BST)
Notable Moves: Guardian Wind*, Sparking Leap*, Air Dive*, Volt Switch, U-turn, Discharge, Hurricane, Air Slash, Heat Wave, Defog, Feather Dance, Roost, Moonlight, Parabolic Charge, Moonblast, Energy Ball
Guardian Wind* (Loria) - Sets Mist and Safeguard for 3 turns, then switches out to a teammate
Sparking Leap* (Loria) - Electric, Physical, 80 BP, 100 Acc, high crit. ratio
Air Dive* (Desvega) - Flying, Physical, 60 BP, 90 Acc, always crits
Height + Weight: 1.2m / 30kg
Flavour/Design: The regal Boltowl is regarded by local peoples as a guardian of the Desvegan forests, where it patrols the nighttime skies. Boltowl silently flies around hunting for rodent Pokemon like Rattata, Flumi, and Furupika. During the day, it rests on tree branches camouflaged against the bark, avoiding competition with the other dominant bird of the forest, Psychawk. Based on the barred owl, with mostly brown feathers but with lightning-shaped patterns on its body.
Potential Competitive Role: budget Zapdos, bulky pivot, Defogger

Name: Psychawk
Counterpart: Boltowl
Typing:

Ability: Keen Eye / Magic Bounce (HA)
Base Stats: 100 HP / 70 Atk / 75 Def / 90 SpA / 85 SpD / 90 Spe (510 BST)
Notable Moves: Guardian Wind*, Air Dive*, U-turn, Psychic, Psyshock, Esper Wing, Hurricane, Air Slash, Heat Wave, Defog, Feather Dance, Roost, Morning Sun, Future Sight, Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball

Air Dive* (Desvega) - Flying, Physical, 60 BP, 90 Acc, always crits
Height + Weight: 1.1m / 25kg
Flavour/Design: The noble Psychawk is regarded by local peoples as a guardian of the Desvegan forests, where it patrols the daytime skies. Psychawk proudly flies around hunting for rodent Pokemon like Sentret, Gopharm, and Skwovet. At night, it rest on tree branches high up in the forest canopy camouflaged against the bark, avoiding competition with the other dominant bird of the forest, Boltowl. Based on the red shouldered hawk, with mostly brown body feathers and sky blue wings.
Potential Competitive Role: very budget Lugia, Magic Bounce for blocking status and hazard setting, bulky pivot, Defogger

Name: Comysol (Glaucomys, a genus of flying squirrel that is found in California + corruption of "soul")
Type: Ghost/Fairy
Stats: 65 HP / 78 Atk / 78 Def / 104 Sp.Atk / 104 Sp.Def / 91 Speed (520 BST)
Abilities: Power Lock
Some Moves: Phantom Force, Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Ominous Wind, Shadow Ball, Destiny Bond, Grudge, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Round, Disable, Encore, Mean Look, Pain Split, Perish Song, Scary Face, Sleep Talk, Screech, Swagger, Seed Bomb, Energy Ball, Leaf Tornado, Strength Sap, Mystical Fire, Will-o-Wisp, Detect, Clear Smog, Mud Shot, Ancient Power, Psycho Cut, Extrasensory, Psychic, Imprison, Magic Coat, Guard Split, Guard Swap, Power Split, Power Swap, Rest, Speed Swap, Icy Wind, Haze, Lash Out, Dark Pulse, Flatter, Parting Shot, Taunt, Topsy-Turvy
Design: Comysol is a flying-squirrel-like Pokemon, that glows in the dark (Flying squirrels actually do this when exposed to UV light). It leads travelers astray at night and feasts on their energy. When many gather together, it is a bad omen.
Competitive Use: It punishes set-up Pokemon by being on the field, at the cost of relatively low defense and HP. Can use moves like Mystical Fire or Strength Sap to force opponents to take chip damage with its ability or just play as a regular set-up sweeper with Nasty Plot.

While the user is on the field, damages every Pokemon on the field that has stat changes* at the end of each turn by 1/8th, if a Pokemon attempts to have its stats raised, the move fails and it loses 1/4th of its HP. Does not affect Pokemon with this ability.

*A stat change is defined as an increased or lowered stage of a stat such as the effects of moves like Swords Dance, Calm Mind or Leer or Parting Shot. Does not include the effects of moves such as Reflect/Light Screen/Aurora Veil, Sandstorm/Snowscape type boosts or passive ability boosts like Huge Power or Supreme Overlord.
Name: Corocan (Anagram of Raccoon)

Design: A grey and brown raccoon-like Pokemon with purple where the mask of a normal raccoon would be. It is highly adaptable in its environment choice. It is among the most intelligent of all Pokemon and can come up with solutions to complex problems.
Competitive Use: Potent mixed attacking wall-breaker that can select its coverage as needed. Can boost in many ways and can therefore be tailored to target specific Pokemon as necessary.

Moves that are neutral against the target have their power increased by 1.3x
(Could pass this ability around but for now, signature of Corocan)
Name: Desvegan Drapion
Base Form: Drapion
Pre-evolution: Skorupi (Level-Up to Level 40 in Desvega)
Type: Dragon/Bug
Stats: 60 HP / 105 Atk / 100 Def / 60 Sp.Atk / 70 Sp.Def / 105 Speed (500 BST)
Abilities: No Guard / Sniper // Keen Eye

Design: Similar to Sinnoan Drapion but remains Skorupi's bluish color. It is smaller than Sinnoan Drapion and has a spiky crest running along its back.
Competitive Use: Swords Dance, Dragon Dance or Focus Energy set-up sweeper, Spikes and/or Toxic Spikes setter, or it can be a No Guard Pokemon that can use the high base power of moves like Dragon Rush and Megahorn without drawback. It could also use the Loaded Dice well with Pin Missile and Scale Shot for STAB moves.
