heres the only bulky hoopa spread that ive liked

donovan (Hoopa-Unbound) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magician
EVs: 8 HP / 160 Atk / 128 Def / 148 SpA / 64 Spe
Rash Nature
- Hyperspace Hole
- Hyperspace Fury
- Ice Punch
- Protect

defensive investment lets you take a talonflames brave bird + keldeos secret sword (which you normally wouldnt, of course) and can ohko back! shoutouts to xzern for coming telling me abt the 144 defense thing on hoopa, and also for having 20 times as many gfs as me (0 x 20 is 0). 148+ spa lets you always ohko amoonguss with hyperspace hole, while the speed lets you pass up scarf-adamant landog (e: under tailwind), while the rest is dumped in attack. if ur using this on trick room, move the speed evs to attack and the nature to quiet :0

heres some relevant calcs
-1 152 Atk Life Orb Hoopa Unbound Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Landorus-T: 343-406 (107.5 - 127.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 144 Def Hoopa Unbound: 251-296 (83.3 - 98.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
152 Atk Life Orb Hoopa Unbound Hyperspace Fury vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 308-364 (103.3 - 122.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 0 HP / 144 Def Hoopa Unbound: 220-261 (73 - 86.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
152 Atk Life Orb Hoopa Unbound Hyperspace Fury vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 330-390 (101.8 - 120.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
148+ SpA Life Orb Hoopa Unbound Hyperspace Hole vs. 252 HP / 76+ SpD Amoonguss: 432-510 (100 - 118%) -- guaranteed OHKO

8 HP / 128 Def survives Life Orb Talonflame's Brave Bird with 8 less EVs. Can't Talonflame just outspeed and OHKO with U-turn though? It also doesn't outspeed Landorus-T since it has a higher base Speed (80 v 91), unless I'm missing something?

EDIT: Good point regarding U-turn; I wasn't thinking. You didn't mention Tailwind in the original post, but I can see it outspeeds it by 3 points now.

good point with the spread, thanks for letting me know

u turn talonflame isnt a thing, or atleast its not a good one.

i said it outspeeds scarf landorus-t under tailwind. scarf is a 1.5 boost, tailwind is a 2x boost. hoopa outspeeds it with minimal investment.

e: nvm im dumb and i forgot to put that lol

hey life orb lando t is increasing in popularity so i thought i'd post some basic spreads to get the discussion started and if people who have used this set more (like KyleCole and Hashtag) want to post their spreads they should do so

Here's a slow one:
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe
Adamant Nature

Max attack, outspeeds bisharp and other neutral natured max invested base 70s, rest into HP

A faster one:
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature

Same as above but outspeeds boosting natured base 70s like breloom

An even faster one:
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Jolly Nature

This one outspeeds neutral base 100s, like adamant kang, and does the same as the above 2

The consensus best one:
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

You aren't getting much bulk from 32 HP EVs, so it's good to just go max speed

These are lame spreads, use this:

EVs: 132 HP / 88 Atk / 36 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
HP EVs survive LO Bisharp's +1 Sucker Punch. Combined with the SDef it survives 252 Timid Thundurus' Hidden Power Ice. Speed is capped to outrun as many things as possible so you can drop rocks on them and #fish4flinch. Attack is a dump.

Landorus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Superpower
- Protect

Regular Life Orb, hit as hard as possible ofc with max speed. I suppose I can get on board with some of the EV spreads that take a bit out of speed but still outspeed neutral natured base 100s but taking anything out of attack just isn't practical.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 168 SpA / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Protect

HP Ice Trick Room spread, KOs other Lando T with HP ice and ofc max attack. The HP hits a Life Orb number and then the remaining 8 are split into Defenses but you could honestly go max attack/Satk if you were so inclined.

Some words of wisdom from our banned friend:

[14:35] @Stratos:when neutral base 100s are so popular i see absolutely no reason to use anything but 252+ spe on life orb lando-t. if it catches on im probably going to have to start running jolly kang again which will hurt me deeply

[14:35] @Stratos:also dont use level 51s spread, its clearly a VGC spread as u can see by the fact that it's EV'd not be OHKOed even tho it has a fucking life orb, just do the novel idea of not using lando-t as ur only kangaskhan check

More additions because I'm avoiding my homework, and I've noticed that I'm sending newbies to this thread more often for help with EVs.

Tier 1
  • Only a Relaxed Nature on 252/184/72 Amoonguss can live a Mega Metagross Zen Headbutt, so add that as a slash
  • Diancie doesn't need 48 SpA EVs to OHKO Heatran with Earth Power, those are just for Bisharp
  • 252/252 deserves a mention for scarf Lando, both with Adamant and Jolly slashed. Speed tying other scarf Lando can be helpful especially since it's so common
  • Add the Life Orb Landorus spreads (both 252/252 and KyleCole's TR Mixed Attacker if you think that's relevant enough)
  • 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / Quiet could be added to Rotom-W as a Specs set on TR teams
Tier 1.5
  • Slash Relaxed with Bold for Cresselia on the Calm Mind set - for use under Trick Room
  • Sub Heatran is missing 4 EVs - add them to Speed, letting it keep the Leftovers number in HP
  • Bulkier Tailwind Attacker Hoopa-U spread, courtesy of aberdeen: 8 HP / 160 Atk / 128 Def / 148 SpA / 64 Spe with a Rash Nature. Lives Talonflame Brave Bird and Keldeo Secret Sword, outspeeds Adamant Scarf Lando-T under Tailwind, OHKOs Amoong with Hyperspace Hole and Aegislash with Hyperspace Fury.
  • Jirachi could use some more spreads - 252 HP / 52 Def / 96 SpD / 108 Spe / Careful Nature does a few things:
    • avoids the 2HKO from Kyube's Ice Beam
    • outspeeds Base 70s
    • rest in phys Defense
  • move the nature above the description for Kyu-B's second mixed scarf set, which should have Spe over SpA as the third stat
  • (super nitpicky but) add a space after the 4 HP in Latios' spread
  • Reorder Mega Metagross' faster attacker spread to 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
  • Change Talonflame's mixed spread to Hashtag's 252 Atk / 120 SpA / 136 Spe / Naive Nature, which is more efficient.
  • Reorder Speedy Special Attacking Thundurus' spread to 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Tier 2
  • Add the mention that Azumarill's second spread uses an Adamant Nature
  • The first spread on Deo-A actually uses a Rash Nature (+SpA, -SpD) to outspeed Mega Gengar. You could alternatively use Naive/Hasty and a spread of 64 HP / 252 SpA / 192 Spe to outspeed Adamant scarf Lando-T if running Ice Beam.
  • This one's up to you, but 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe / Timid Nature on Mega Gengar is the best spread if you're using it for Perish Trap. Add it at your own risk heehee
  • You could slash Quiet with Modest on Specs Politoed for use on RainRoom, but it's pretty niche. Just thought I'd point it out.
  • Suicune is now Tier 2', so if it's easy to move, this list should reflect that. Also, the spread being used on your current analysis is probably better, I'll include it here for convenience's sake: 252 HP / 100 Def / 104 SpA / 32 SpD / 20 Spe with a Bold nature does lots of things:
    • Avoids 2HKO from Mega Kangaskhan Return
    • outruns Adamant Scarf Lando-T under Tailwind
    • always OHKO's 4 HP Lando-T with Ice Beam
    • rest in SpD for extra bulk
Tier 2'
  • Add checkmater's Mega Gardevoir spreads found on post #41
  • checkmater's Togekiss spread creeps what it's supposed to outspeed by a lot, maybe move 24 Speed EVs to Special Defense?
  • In Mega Venusaur's description, you should add the word EVs after Special Defense to clarify the subject/noun agreement
Tier 3
  • You could add checkmater's Life Orb Diancie spread - 148 HP / 252 Atk / 108 SpA with a Brave Nature lets it OHKO Keldeo with Moonblast, maximizes Atk, then dumps the rest in HP for bulk. However this is somewhat niche on an already niche mon.
  • I like Gourgeist-XL so I'm suggesting this spread be added as a Trick Room setter: 248 HP / 88 Def / 172 SpD with a Relaxed Nature
    • lives LO Talonflame's Brave Bird
    • minimum speed for better function under Trick Room
    • rest in SpD for more bulk
  • Same with Reuniclus, it's a pretty good TR setter imo. 152 HP / 36 Def / 252 SpA / 68 SpD does this:
    • maximize SpA, minimize speed
    • HP and SpD let Reuniclus always live Aegislash's Shadow Ball
    • rest in Defense for a great chance to live Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Punch
  • Get rid of the extra space in Mega Mawile's description
  • Add a space after "252 HP" in Rhyperior's description
  • Add Stratos' Zapdos spread: 252 HP / 32 Def / 72 SpA / 136 SpD / 16 Spe with a Modest Nature, it lives 2 Lando-T Rock Slides and 2 Assault Vest Ludicolo Ice Beams, creeps Bisharp, and dumps the rest in SpA.
  • KyleCole's Zapdos spread is a more offensive alternative: 252 HP / 36 Def / 176 SpA / 28 SpD / 16 Spe with a Modest Nature, lives 2 Lando-T Rock Slides, creeps Bisharp, and OHKOs Keldeo with Thunderbolt and 4 HP Lando-T with HP Ice, rest in SpD.

That was a ridiculous number of notes, so I put it in a hide tag to avoid scaring people away with a wall of text. A lot of it was just collecting posts from earlier on for convenience's sake, but I hope this helped!

  • checkmater's Togekiss spread creeps what it's supposed to outspeed by a lot, maybe move 24 Speed EVs to Special Defense?
it creeps diancie un-mega (which is definitely a good benchmark because no diancie will protect in front of a toge unless threatened by toge partner so getting tailwind off before they can diamondstorm can come clutch it a lot of matches, see me vs clius g3) and maxspeed deoa/aero-mega in tailwind. I suppose one could move it lower to landot if they wanted

lets try again

Mega-Mawile
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 12 Def / 116 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Speed
Lives max SpA Chandelure Heat Wave and -1 Adamant Choice Band Talonflame Flare Blitz, remainder goes into Atk.

Victini
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 124 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Speed
Lives max atk Lando-T Earthquake, 252 LO Timid Keldeo Scald

Jellicent
EVs: 196 HP / 132 Def / 180 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Speed
Lives Choice Specs 252+ Hydreigon Dark Pulse, lives 252+ Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off, lives 172+ Ferrothorn Power Whip.

EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Speed
Lives Life Orb 252+ Hydreigon Dark Pulse, 252+ Aegislash Shadow Ball, 252 Thundurus Thunderbolt, 252+ Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch, 172+ Ferrothorn Power Whip.

Also you miss the natures on the other Jellicent spreads, the first one is probably Relaxed. The second spread has a Relaxed nature too, the last spread has a Quiet nature.

Volcarona
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
Pretty straightforward, this spread deals the most damage but has no bulk. Even though it isn't the most efficient I feel like it still should be included.

EVs: 252 HP / 188 Def / 68 SpA
Bold Nature
Lives 252+ Mega-Kangaskhan Double-Edge, 252+ Landorus-Therian Rock Slide, +2 252+ Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball, 252+ Bisharp Sucker Punch (as well as Mawile's Sucker Punch). 37.5% chance to OHKO Amoonguss with Overheat.

Togekiss
EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 36 SpA / 60 SpD / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
Lives 252 Mega-Metagross Iron Head (as well as 252+ Life Orb Bisharp Iron Head) and 252 Thundurus Thunderbolt. 60 speed outspeeds 252 Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian in Tailwind. Rest goes into SpA.

EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 60 SpD / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
Does the same as the above spread, however this spread outspeeds 252+ Deoxys-Attack in Tailwind.

Aegislash
EVs: 240 HP / 160 SpA / 112 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 7 Spe
Lives a 252+ Choice Specs Hydreigon Dark Pulse, remainder goes into SpA. If you use Weakness Policy you will KO Hydreigon at +2 with Flash Cannon. The 7 IVs are for outspeeding neutral Rhyperior with 31 IVs, however I don't know if that is still as relevant anymore considering Knights of the Sun doesn't exist anymore

Cresselia
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 44 SpA / 112 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Speed
Avoid getting 2HKOd by 252+ Mega-Gengar Shadow Ball, avoid getting 2HKOd by 252+ Mega-Kangaskhan Double-Edge. (Also lives 252+ Mega-Heracross Pin Missile, the more you know)

EVs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 88 SpA / 156 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Speed
OHKO 44 HP Landorus-Therian with Ice Beam, live 252+ Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off, you can probably do something more efficient with these 156 SpD EVs but w/e

Other notes:
For the Trick Room Attacker set for Conkeldurr it's better to put 0 Speed IVs down.
Same goes for regular Diancie, Escavalier, Mega-Mawile's first spread, Victini's first spread.

Lives max atk Lando-T Earthquake, 252 LO Timid Keldeo Scald
victini isn't surviving 252+ lando-t EQ with that spread but has a lot of margin to dying vs scald

252 SpA Life Orb Keldeo Scald vs. 128 HP / 124 SpD Victini: 299-354 (80.1 - 94.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 128 HP / 4 Def Victini: 390-458 (104.5 - 122.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

you can just go flat 252 HP and have a chance to live EQ while never dying to scald still

252 SpA Life Orb Keldeo Scald vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Victini: 338-400 (83.6 - 99%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Victini: 390-458 (96.5 - 113.3%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
if you wanna be guaranteed of EQ survival you gotta invest a lot
252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 136 Def Victini: 338-402 (83.8 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Jellicent

IVs: 0 Speed
Lives Choice Specs 252+ Hydreigon Dark Pulse, lives 252+ Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off, lives 172+ Ferrothorn Power Whip.
252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 196 HP / 132+ Def Jellicent: 416-491 (106.6 - 125.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 196 HP / 180 SpD Jellicent: 338-402 (86.6 - 103%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
172+ Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 196 HP / 132+ Def Jellicent: 330-390 (84.6 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
you fail to reach all benchmarks you listed (it's even jolly bisharp, unless you meant itemless jellicent in which case all high hp spreads live that), and i can't make a spread that does all of that, but i can at least make a more efficient spread that has higher bulk on both sides

248 HP / 108+ Def / 152 SpD

252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 108+ Def Jellicent: 424-502 (105.2 - 124.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 248 HP / 152 SpD Jellicent: 348-410 (86.3 - 101.7%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
172+ Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 248 HP / 108+ Def Jellicent: 338-402 (83.8 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

You forgot to factor in spread reduction, which means that Victini can live an Earthquake :B:

252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 128 HP / 4 Def Victini: 390-458 (104.5 - 122.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO (single target)
252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 128 HP / 4 Def Victini: 290-344 (77.7 - 92.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (spread)

(Also I personally think EVing just for Scald isn't the best idea as Hydro Pump is so common :X)

You are right about Melo forgotting to calc Knock Off with an item. You are also correct about Melo not completely guaranteeing those calcs (smh Melo :P). Anyways, here is a spread which does reach the other two benchmarks (tip for everyone when making spreads: (generally) use the nature to boost the highest stat!!!). triple post sorry :/

Mega Metagross

EVs: 244 Atk / 12 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

Always lives an Adamant LO Sucker Punch from Bisharp. (16 HP achieves this as well but investing in Defence allows a higher Attack investment)

252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 12 Def Mega Metagross: 252-299 (83.7 - 99.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mega Camerupt
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature

Always lives a spread reduced Earthquake from Adamant unboosted Landorus-T.

252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Mega Camerupt: 288-342 (83.9 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Think I found a better Bulky Mega Gardevoir spread:

72 HP / 108 Def / 220 SpA / 108 Spe
Modest Nature

It still outspeeds base 70s and survives Talon BB, but with more SpA investment to hit harder. Just enough HP EVs to live Aegis Shadow Ball or Flash Cannon as well.

CorruptedOmega

Banned deucer.
Pastelle found a mistake in one of Azumarill's sets. The EVs go over 508.

EVs: 200 HP / 200 Atk / 140 Def (by Pocket)
Adamant Nature
Survives a Choice Band Brave Bird from Talonflame and Explosion from Landorus-T after Belly Drumming.

EVs: 236 SpA / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Modest Nature

lives aegislash flash cannon/shadow ball, outspeeds 252+ hoopa-unbound

Carbonific made a more efficient spread with 56 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 196 Spe

Mega Gardevoir's base HP is very low in comparison to its Special Defense, so raising the former is more efficient for surviving special attacks. 56 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 196 Spe does the same with maximised Special Attack:

252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Flash Cannon vs. 56 HP / 4 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 246-290 (84.5 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Yoda2798 and I were looking at some of these spreads and noticed that the one for Ferrothorn is outdated, as it's EV'd to KO a Washtom spread and a Togekiss spread that don't exist anymore. So, after lots of calc's, we've come up with a couple of other options. Enjoy!

EVs: 252 HP / 176 Atk / 80 Def
Brave Nature
Avoids 2HKO from Jolly Breloom Mach Punch (not factoring Leftovers) and OHKO from Virizion CC, 2HKOs standard goggles Togekiss even at -1.

EVs: 252 HP / 224 Atk / 12 Def / 20 SpD
Brave Nature
2HKOs standard Washtom through Sitrus even at -1, OHKOs max HP Azu and standard Kyube at +0. 20 SpD lets it avoid the OHKO from Modest Gardevoir's Focus Blast. Rest in Def.

EVs: 240 HP / 224 Atk / 44 Def
Relaxed Nature
A more defensive version, should be used with Rocky Helmet. Avoids the 2HKO from PuP Adamant Mega Kang, KOes in return without even clicking an attack due to recoil. Rest in Atk, which means it beats Lando-T trying to switch in since Gyro Ball 2HKOs at -1 with Iron Barbs

0 Speed EVs are assumed for all the above spreads. Yes, the first spread is basically the same as the current one, but it's more optimized by a whole 4 EVs (!!!). Some of these benchmarks are pretty strange but I promise these were the most relevant of the ones we came up with.
