Zipette Zipette elle fait une fixette sur ZWEILOUS
Pour mon 17ème post il fallait marquer le coup, donc salut la team et bienvenue dans un tuto sur comment jouer Zweilous.
Teambuilding Process:
The main idea:
So the idea was to build with a funny mon. Thanks to Hustle, some high BP moves and the ability to carry a Choice Band, Zweilous had the potential to be a super good breaker.
Help Zweilous in doing damages:
Due to his typing, Zweilous struggle against Fairy-Type, specially Clefable (and Tapu Koko) who don't take Stealth Rocks and have the ability to heal freely and forcing Zweilous out, same for Weavile which is a super top threat that can revenge kill easily.
To handle that, Assault Vest Melmetal was a good option, he eat most moves from the 3 aboves Pokémon like a chief (maybe not Low Sweep Weavile but we'll come to that later) and pressure them with the 2nd most dumbest move ever invented.
To complete that, Scarf Tapu Lele act as a revenge killer, cleaner and speed control, outspeeding Dragapult, Tapu Koko, Weavile etc... as well as offering great support to Zweilous with Future Sight.
Don't lose to everything:
At this point it was obvious that fast Ghost-Type such as Dragapult and Blacephalon were top dangerous. Despite his typing, Zweilous can only come once on resisted moves from them, and they almost have the 2HKO with rocks up. In the same way, Heatran was really pressuring, and thanks there is a Pokemon that can handle all three of them.
Tyranitar with SpeDef invest appeared as the answer to all of that. Can check really dangerous threat, set rocks up, spread para with Thunder Wave and offer a way to play around weather based team.
The final touch:
At this point there were still things that can end Zweilous career on preview: fast physical mon (specially scrafer who outspeed Tapu Lele). Urshifu, Kartana, Barraskewda, Rillaboom, Landorus, Garchomp are all dangerous.
Tangrowth is an amazing mon with the ability to check almost everything on the physical side. He's weak to U-Turn but punish spam with the Rocky Helmet, don't take that much from neutral move, even at +2 and can hit back with correct Atk and SpAtk stats. Regenerator grant healing ability and his low SpeD stats is completed by TTar's ability to come on what threat him. But, there's still a big problem, hazards.
To get rid of hazards, offer a ground immunity and a way to pivot, Rotom-Wash was perfect. At some point, Tornadus was seen as an option but the neutrality to Elec, the ability to "check" Weavile were definitly what was needed to the team. Rotom offer momentum with Volt-Switch, can clear the field with Defog, heal and chip with Pain Split and do some damages with Hydro Pump (shitty move).
Sets explanation:
Tangrowth
Tangrowth @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Giga Drain/Leaf Storm
- Knock Off/Sludge Bomb
- Stun Spore/Sleep Powder/Sludge Bomb/Earthquake

Tangrowth
Tangrowth @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Giga Drain/Leaf Storm
- Knock Off/Sludge Bomb
- Stun Spore/Sleep Powder/Sludge Bomb/Earthquake
- Focus Blast
- Come on most physical threat specially: Urshifu, Landorus, Barraskewda, Excadrill, Rillaboom, Zeraora, Kartana and punish with Rocky Helmet.
- Focus Blast allow to "pressure" Ferrothorn, Kartana or Melmetal, as well as cheap Heatran on switch or anything that want to come on Tang.
- Giga Drain is the main STAB and Stun Spore allow to spread Paralysis to help Zweilous to spam move easily.
- Knock Off help against almost everything, knock Boots from Tornadus-T, Zapdos or Leftovers from Landorus, Melmetal, Heatran combo with Stealth Rocks and Rocky Helmet allow a to kill slowly.
- Sludge Bomb: it's an option to think about, a good move to hit Tapu Koko, Clefable, Rillaboom and poison. Could be used instead of Stun Spore to keep a mean of removing items but keep spread a status, or instead of Knock Off to spread two status. Poison is specially useful for mons like Garchomp, and Volcarona that can normally come on Tangrowth.
- Earthquake: Same as Sludge Bomb, allow to hit some mons like Tapu Koko, Heatran, Magnezone on a switch as well as Glowking. It basically hit same things as Focus Blast (+ some others) in a less miss reliant way but you lose the ability to hit Kart/Ferro.
Melmetal

Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 128 HP / 116 Atk / 252 SpD / 12 Spe
Careful Nature
- Double Iron Bash
- Earthquake/Superpower
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Can come on Fairy such as Clefable, Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele to check and force them out as well as a lot of mons on both physical and special side.
- Double Iron Bash is basically Melmetal Fishious Rend so it cancel anything that don't resist on a in with rocks up.
- The other moves are just coverage to hit what DIB can't.
- Superpower: As explained most of the time Earthquake is better, but Superpower is a way to hit Ferrothorn which can be helpful with Lele.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers

- Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave/Fire Blast
- Tyranitar set Stealth Rock which offer some good calc to Zweilous and Lele. Can come on most Special move and is a good in to check Dragapult, Blacephalon and Heatran.
- Rock Blast/Earthquake are here to do some damages, to like Zapdos, Tornadus, Tapu Koko, Heatran and others mon on in.
- Thunder Wave is, again, here to spread paralysis and help Zweilous.
- Fire Blast: Fire Blast is an option to consider so TTar will be less passive agains't Ferrothorn and Corviknight.

Weaknesses
- Buzzwole: Buzzwole can be checked by Tangrowth and revenge killed by Tapu Lele. But without Sludge Bomb Tangrowth can't do much and with Rocks up it's hard to in Lele, not a dead MU but hard to deal with.
- Volcanion: Specs drop things but Rotom can "in" few times against it and Rocks prevent to come freely. Boots Volcanion is a real hard MU.
- Volcarona: Almost same as Volcanion, you may have to play aggro to prevent a setup that will lead to a sweep.
- + Clefable: Clefable is not dangerous or hard to break by itself, but the Rocky Helmet basically kill Zweilous and chip Melmetal.
- + / Lokix : Just a pain.
Hard to break cores:
- + GastroTran: Heatran in are Rotom and Tytar, and both are cancel by Gastrodon that even prevent Rotom to get the momentum back. Just try to play around SR to cheap and maybe kill tran. FSight + Zweilous can break but be aware of Flame Body.
- / () +/ Rocky Helmet: As said, Rocky Helmet on mons that can come on Zweilous and Melmetal is a hard, so everything that take advatange from them weakened is a pain. Skarmory can easily be Knock Off by Tangrowth and with FSight you can manage to break it.
And prolly some more.
