ZU Olympiad Announcements and Administrative Decisions​

This thread will contain information regarding the tournament and auction format, managers and their teams, rosters, and schedule. Decisions and announcements will also be communicated here. The first iteration of ZU Olympiad will be hosted by Xayah and Mirbro.

Important Rules:

1. Managers can have one Assistant Manager each.
2. Both the Manager and the Assistant Manager are allowed to selfbuy (15k each).
3. Each team will have a minimum of ten players (eight starters and two subs).
4. Players may not be traded at any point.

* As discussed in this post, Throh and Type: Null will be unbanned in SM ZU during this tournament!

Re: Manager self-buys

After further discussion, we have decided to allow both manager and comanager to buy themselves. Each will cost 15k credits.

Discussion regarding self-buy pricing is not closed yet and the value could still be changed.

Re: Number of substitutes

We have decided to lower the number of required substitutes from 4 to 2, which brings the minimum number of players from 12 to 10. This is due to a limited number of signups otherwise restricting teams too heavily.

It should be noted that this also puts manager self-buy prices into a new context. With a lower minimum player count, there are more credits available for each player. Thus, the 15k credits for managers are 'worth less' than with 12 minimum players. As such, we will not be lowering the manager self-buy price at this time.

Re: BeatsBlack vs JonAmon 25

At the end of the ADV game between BeatsBlack and JonAmon 25, JonAmon 25 asked a mechanics question. Specifically, he asked what the result of the game would be should he use Explosion with his final mon Nosepass and kill the opposing final mon Koffing. This question was answered in the chat by several people, and following this, JonAmon 25 chose to use Explosion, thus causing a tied game.

As stated in this post, stating a mechanic is allowed if requested by the player. This is what happened in this game, so answering the question will not be considered ghosting.

Result: The tie stands. BeatsBlack and JonAmon 25 will replay the game.

RE: Sellback Zealous Outlaws Oinkologne

The Zealous Outlaws Oinkologne are selling back Louna on the basis of minimum activity requirements. He will removed as a player from the Zealous Outlaws Oinkologne and barred from signing up in the next edition of Olympiads. The Zealous Outlaws Oinkologne have selected SOMALIA as their replacement. They will be eligible to play starting in Week 4.

RE: SiceXV ban

Smogon has just banned SiceXV and, thus, Paradox Pablos team and their respective managers DurzaOffTopic and TWiTT are able to look for a replacement in the left pool.

RE: Jabbathegriffin vs Hys

This ADV game between these two players (Paradox Pablos vs Paradox Dustox) was meant to happen week 5. Jabba reached Hys on Friday to schedule (a bit late but Hys didnt reach before either) preferably on Sunday, Hys agreed but they would message on Sunday to confirm the time. Sunday passed, Jabba even post a message in Hys' wall, nothing happened. Durza (Paradox Pablos' manager) reached hosts to tell us that this happened and we tried to contact Paradox Dustox managers (no answers). With the deadline due and after talking to a TD, we decided that this game is an activity win for Jabba and Paradox Pablos. With this tie, the get first seed. Drama solved.
