Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Time for voting is now over and the time has come in my infinite wisdom to place bring you guys a new team. Its totally not because I'm overseas in japan right now . Anyway Im happy with how this has turned out and Im pleased to announce that JTD783 has made another entry to the archive with the z move kartana nomination congratulations. Hall of fame will be updated soon
Dropping more standard choices like kingdra in favour of greninja and mega swampert this team seeks to not only capatilise on rain but minimise its weakness outside. Peliper is standard while specs ash gren and mega swampert form the rain core one using prioty and the other laying rocks in addition to sweeping. Ferrothorn completes the hazard core and handles opposing rain while torn t acts as a stallbreaker with 100% accurate hurricanes. Magerna rounds the team as a back sweeper and answer to fairies.
That's the team. Happy nominations and i wish you all luck. Nominations can contain 1 or 2 pokémon.

CB Bulu has the ability to one shot 5/6 Pokemon on the team, one shot 4/6 with Wood Hammer after Rocks and 2hko 4/6 with Horn Leech. While it can be revenge ko'd by Magearna and Torn-T and prediction needs to be made when Ferro is healthy, is ability to dent everything with Horn Leech with little consequence makes Bulu hard to whittle down by the opposing team.

HP Electric is a nice tech for Pelipper which can often switch in on this mon which allows Sun to remain up and basically ohko each and every member on this rain team. Even Ash-Gren isnt able to kill Char-Y in Sun with Surf. EVs can of course be adjusted to prevent this as the Speed isnt necessary on Zard here apart from needing to be able to outspeed Swampert. Sun also fucks with Tornadus Hurricanes.

Rotom-W is an absolute menace for this team to deal with, especially when paired with an adequate breaker, Nothing wants to switch into it between Volt Switch and Will-O-Wisp/Hydro Pump, it can pivot into multiple mons on the team (Pert, Torn, Peli,), and is an all-around irritant for this team to deal with. Mega Swampert shouldn't be switching into Rotom-W for fear of this happening, so Rotom-W can pivot around on this team and go into teammates like Mega Medicham or Kartana to dismantle the team. Really solid mon that irritates the fuck out of rain and can more or less win rain games by itself a lot of the time.

I love Mantine, and it has a pretty solid matchup versus Rain. And while it's passive as hell, Rain-boosted Scalds are annoying to everything except Ferrothorn and Pelipper.
Being immune to Rain-boosted Water moves is also nice since it forces the Rain user to be more aggressive, which you can exploit. Gotta watch out for Rocks though, as well as Magearna.
With this spread you do live unboosted Magearna's Thunderbolt after Rocks 100% of the time so you can fire off a Haze if they've only Shift Gear'd up.

Kind of a meme pick I saw in a blunder live yesterday. This thing is such a menace against rain, especially the ABR & BKC rain, as I'm fairly positive it was tailor made to dismantle it. Played around with it a bit and it's pretty fun to use. Requires a bunch of prediction, but if you get it right, the reward is absurdly good.
As much as I love that one scarf grass knot victini rmt I saw, my nom has to be this pokemon. CTC really do be the GOAT of builders.
Sorry for the wild delay, but thank you everyone for participating once again! Unfortunately I'm going to have to disqualify the Charizard submission following the viability rule listed in the OP; tl;dr Charizard simply cannot afford to be walled by Heatran and Tyranitar in this meta. Anyways, here are this week's submissions:

Voting closes whenever we decide it is. Happy voting!
Im back from holiday and my roster is stabilised so this long voting period is over. My Votes goes to Rotom W and Tapu Koko. As both are solid picks in the meta outside of there rain match ups and in this day and age you need as much role compression as you can get. Congratulations to@Mannat for making the archive for the first time with your Rotom Nomination stealing it with 3 Votes.

Probably the most common Volt Switch Offence team I've ran into on the ladder. Featuring 2 fairies and built around taking hits and volt switching until either mawile breaks the opponent or Kartana cleans the team overall a solid choice in the balance filled meta. Mega Mawile runs the 4 attacks to makimise lure potential without needing to set up While Torn T and Garchomp whom doubles as a rocker are the primary stall breakers. Rotom W and Magerna form the volt switching backbone of the team taking hits, spreading status and in magernas case ensuring a certain common clefable cant get in the teams way. Kartana rounds out the team proving much needed speed control to team that would otherwise have none.
Teams Not without weakness and things like priority T-wave or fast mons like mega bunny and Ash-greninja can render this already slow team at the mercy of faster threats should they knock your counter options out early.
Thats the team and I wish you all good-luck for this week. You may nominate either a single mon or a core that breaks the team. Nominations will end sometime next week and a short explanation of your choice is appreaciated.
PS: In Addition if you nominate a mon thats not on the viability list you must provide replays that are 1600+ or from tournaments and explain how it works in the meta. If you fail to do so those nominations wont be eligible for voting.
This team gives Volcarona many opportunities to switch into play, and it can sweep pretty easily. Mega Mawile, Kartana, and Magearna tend to invite Volcarona in and can't really do much to it if Volcarona is backed up by solid Defog support that can keep Stealth Rock from Garchomp off the field. From there, Volcarona will quite often be able to just win, though you should obviously be wary of the opponent baiting Savage Spin-Out.
Dragon Claw Mega Charizard X seems to be on almost equal footing with its Earthquake variant these days. When looking at the team, I noticed that it's very weak to Mega Charizard X as its dual STAB is unresisted and capable of severely denting the team, considering it has three Steel-types weak to Flare Blitz and its Fire resists are hurt by Dragon Claw. It also can't get burnt by Rotom's Will-O-Wisp, which is the would-be course of action against physical sweepers/wallbreakers like Charizard.
Even without any boosts, Charizard is able to OHKO 5 out of 6 Pokémon, including Tornadus-T after rocks. Only Rotom-Wash is able to tank any hit and not die.
252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Flare Blitz vs. 92 HP / 0 Def Mawile-Mega: 422-498 (159.8 - 188.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Dragon Claw vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 356-420 (99.7 - 117.6%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Dragon Claw vs. 252 HP / 132+ Def Rotom-Wash: 129-153 (42.4 - 50.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 52 Def Tornadus-Therian: 288-340 (79.5 - 93.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Flare Blitz vs. 248 HP / 36 Def Magearna: 440-518 (121.2 - 142.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kartana: 808-952 (311.9 - 367.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
After one Dragon Dance, it outspeeds every Pokémon bar Kartana and still OHKOs every Pokémon bar Rotom-Wash. At this point the only things you have to worry about are recoil damage from Flare Blitz, Mawile's Sucker Punch, Rotom's Hydro Pump and Kartana's Sacred Sword. All of these attacks do about half or less to Charizard so you should be able to Roost them off a lot of the time.
252+ Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Charizard-Mega-X: 132-156 (44.4 - 52.5%) -- 21.5% chance to 2HKO
0 SpA Rotom-Wash Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Charizard-Mega-X: 141-166 (47.4 - 55.8%) -- 79.7% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Kartana Sacred Sword vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Charizard-Mega-X: 116-137 (39 - 46.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
If you manage to get two Dragon Dances off, Charizard outspeeds every single Pokémon and even defensive Rotom-Wash won't be at its mercy, so the only thing you have to look out for at this point are recoil damage and Mawile's Sucker Punch, which you can finesse with Roost.
+2 252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Dragon Claw vs. 252 HP / 132+ Def Rotom-Wash: 258-304 (84.8 - 100%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
In a nutshell, Mega Charizard X should be able to tear holes through this team if you are able to bring it in safely, i.e., not onto rocks or into strong attacks, especially if you predict correctly. If you find a chance to get off a Dragon Dance, which often times you should be able to thanks to reliable recovery in Roost and pretty decent natural bulk, there's a good chance it's GG.

Look at the team and then think about its camel switch-ins. The biggest threats to camel are garchomp and rotom-w, both of which take boatloads of damage switching in. The latter of which also gets bopped by nature power in grassy terrain. Not to mention camel doesn't die to garchomp eq or crush without a boost. Bulu gives camel energy ball and recovery and punishes rotom going for hydro, getting off one of the strongest hits in OU in wood hammer. Camel will always put holes in this team, and Bulu takes advantage of that.

My favourite core is back once again to wall the 93820984th team since the beginning of this project. This team has exactly one chance to break through, and if Steela clicks Protect as Garchomp clicks Continental Crush, then it's GG right there.
I've slashed Giga Drain since this team has three Steels and a bulky Water, but Sludge Bomb is better in general and can poison Torn on the switch if you're lucky.
+2 252 Atk Garchomp Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 28 Def Celesteela: 207-244 (52.1 - 61.4%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

The Z-move does kill Steela at +2, but it's easily played around with Protect, at which point Garchomp can be stalled by setting Seeds and spamming Protect or Synthesis. The rest of the team is so embarrassingly hard-walled that calcs are irrelevant.
252+ Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 172+ Def Venusaur-Mega: 96-113 (26.3 - 31%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 SpA Venusaur-Mega Hidden Power Fire vs. 92 HP / 0 SpD Mawile-Mega: 108-128 (40.9 - 48.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
No, seriously, this is the best any of them can do.

Smash Rotom-W w/ Grass-Z and threaten out everything else with Magma Storm. Use Tangrowth to help w/ Garchomp and Kartana. I guess you could just use Toxic + Firium Heatran but Grassium Z also weakens Garchomp which is nice.
