Due to its high physical Defense and single-weakness type combination, Mega Scizor acts as an effective support Pokemon in Pure Hackmons. Additionally, Scizor's steel typing includes benefits such a staggering eight resistances and immunity to Toxic. Recover gives Scizor the ability to heal off damage from hazards and weak Mold Breaker attacks. Defog allows Scizor to clear hazards for the rest of its team, while Stealth Rocks can be used to punish switches or to make progress during Wonder Guard-on-Wonder Guard deadlock. Aromatherapy allows Mega Scizor to remove its team's status, giving teammates a second chance after they have been hindered. Magic Coat can reverse status moves that may remove its Wonder Guard such as Gastro Acid, or bounce status conditions or hazard back to the opponent. Finally, Baton Pass gives Mega Scizor the ability to slow pivot, switching after other opponents and generating momentum. Shed Shell is used to avoid Shadow Tag attackers like Mega Mewtwo X and Y, while Safety Goggles gives Mega Scizor immunity to Spore.
