[OVERVIEW]

Suicune is one of the most centralizing Pokemon in the UnderUsed metagame, and for good reason. Suicune has access to amazing natural bulk backed by a solid defensive typing, making it one of the sturdiest walls in the tier. Suicune's defensive qualities are further augmented by Pressure, an ability that allows Suicune to outlast a lot of Pokemon that would otherwise wall it with ease, such as Blissey. Suicune also has access to Calm Mind and Scald, as well as decent Special Attack and Speed, allowing it to have good offensive presence for a defensive-minded Pokemon.

Despite having so many positives, Suicune lacks access to reliable recovery, forcing it to rely on Rest for good longevity throughout a match. Suicune is also very reliant on its STAB attacks for damage, making it vulnerable to Pokemon that have an immunity to Water-type attacks, such as Dry Skin Heliolisk.

move 4: Sleep Talk / Calm Mind

evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Roar allows Suicune to phaze the opposing Pokemon; it prevents setup sweepers from setting up, racks up entry hazard damage on the opposing Pokemon, and usually prevents Suicune itself from being phazed should it attempt a sweep. Scald is a very consistent STAB attack with a good chance to burn the opposing Pokemon. Sleep Talk ensures that Suicune is less passive during sleep turns, as it has a 66% chance to select either Scald or Roar, deterring most Pokemon from attempting to use Suicune as setup fodder. Lastly, Calm Mind is an option, as it boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense, allowing it to function as a dangerous setup sweeper.

Set Details
========

Leftovers provides Suicune with a source of passive recovery, which it greatly appreciates, as it is reliant on Rest for recovery. The given EVs maximize Suicune's physical bulk, allowing it to take on the many dangerous physical attackers in the tier, such as Feraligatr and Mamoswine.

Usage Tips
========

The way this set is played varies depending on whether Sleep Talk or Calm Mind is chosen in the last moveslot. Should the former be chosen, Suicune works exceptionally well on stall teams as a check to various threatening physical attackers and setup sweepers, such as Swords Dance Feraligatr and Curse Snorlax. Should the latter be chosen, however, Suicune helps its team with role compression by being able to fulfill the role of a bulky setup sweeper as well as a good, albeit softer, check to the physical attackers and setup sweepers previously mentioned. Regardless of which move is chosen, Suicune should generally be capitalizing on the switches it forces by either phazing the incoming Pokemon to rack up entry hazard damage or attacking the incoming Pokemon with Scald to try to burn it.

Team Options
========

Ground-types, such as Nidoqueen and Gligar, are immune to the Electric-type attacks usually aimed at Suicune while Suicune resists the Ice- and Water-type attacks aimed at those Ground-types. Ground-types are also commonly used as entry hazard setters, making them even better partners to Suicune by helping it wear down its foes. Ground-types do not resist Grass-type attacks, however, and some Ground-types are weak to them, so be sure to have a Pokemon resistant to Grass when pairing Suicune with a Ground-type. Grass-types resist both of Suicune's weaknesses, and Suicune resists two of their weaknesses in Fire and Ice. Roserade and Chesnaught get special mentions, as they are able to set up Spikes for Suicune. Suicune forces many switches by virtue of its ability to phaze opposing Pokemon, so entry hazard setters, such as Cobalion and Mega Aggron, are good partners. Toxic Spikes users, such as Tentacruel and Dragalge, can cripple many of Suicune's checks and counters as they switch in. Should Calm Mind be used in the fourth moveslot, clerics, such as Florges and Umbreon, make for excellent partners, as they can wake Suicune up after it uses Rest, preventing it wasting turns.

Moves
========

Calm Mind makes Suicune a terrifying bulky setup sweeper, as it boosts not only Suicune's Special Attack but also its Special Defense. Scald is a consistent STAB attack that also has a good chance to burn the foe, allowing Suicune to have an easier time against powerful physical attackers. Rest gives Suicune a form of instant recovery that not only heals it to full HP but also removes any status conditions. Sleep Talk ensures that Suicune isn't useless when it's asleep. Ice Beam is also an option in the fourth moveslot, giving Suicune super effective coverage against Grass- and Dragon-types while also having good neutral coverage in conjunction with Scald.

Set Details
========

Leftovers gives Suicune passive recovery, thus increasing its longevity. A Bold nature is used in tandem with the given EVs to maximize Suicune's physical bulk while also maintaining good special bulk. Pressure allows Suicune to outlast most defensive Pokemon that could otherwise easily wall this set, such as Blissey.

Usage Tips
========

Suicune should constantly apply pressure to the opposing team either by repeatedly using Scald to wear down its checks and counters or by posing as a constant threat by setting up against teams that don't have a solid answer to it. Suicune should only attempt to sweep once its checks and counters are either removed or weakened.

Team Options
========

Grass- and Dragon-types, such as Virizion and Hydreigon, resist both Grass- and Electric-type attacks. As Grass-types can take on most Pokemon immune to Water, they are usually better teammates than Dragon-types. Roserade gets a special mention for being able to set Toxic Spikes, which ensures Water Absorb Jellicent isn't able to check Suicune. Suicune's main checks are Electric-types, making Ground-types, such as Nidoking and Nidoqueen, good partners. Ground-types, especially specially defensive Gligar, also deal with Toxicroak and Heliolisk, which are both premier Suicune checks, with ease. Special walls, such as Blissey and Florges, are able to take on special attackers that Suicune can struggle with, while Suicune is able to take on the physical attackers that these special walls have trouble against in return. Due to Suicune's ability to force many switches, entry hazard setters, such as Forretress, are good teammates.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense, making it a threatening special sweeper. Hydro Pump is a powerful, albeit unreliable, STAB attack. Scald, on the other hand, is a less powerful but consistent STAB attack that also has a chance to burn the foe. Ice Beam has good coverage in tandem with Suicune's STAB attack of choice, hitting Dragon-, and Grass-type Pokemon for super effective damage. Tailwind allows Suicune to sweep past more offensively oriented teams, and support its teammates by giving them a Speed boost. Hidden Power Electric gives Suicune super effective coverage against Water-types. Extrasensory is also an option in the fourth moveslot to hit Toxicroak, a common Suicune check, for super effective damage. Lastly, Hidden Power Grass is an option to hit Swampert and Seismitoad for super effective damage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread maximizes Suicune's damage output and Speed, and a Timid nature is used to ensure Suicune is able to outspeed some important threats in the metagame, including Mamoswine, Feraligatr, and Chandelure. Leftovers gives Suicune a form of passive recovery, thus extending its longevity. An alternative EV spread consisting of 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe with a Modest nature is also usable for Tailwind variants, as this EV spread gives Suicune more bulk to be able to set up Tailwind, and the given Speed EVs allow Suicune to outspeed Mega Aerodactyl under Tailwind.

Usage Tips
========

Suicune should only attempt to sweep after all its checks and counters have been either significantly weakened or removed. Depending on its moves, these checks and counters vary. For instance, Vaporeon can easily outlast most variants of this set. However, if running Hidden Power Electric in the fourth moveslot, this set can easily use Vaporeon as setup bait and proceed to sweep the opposing team. This set is also, for the most part, unexpected, so it can be used to lure in threats that commonly switch in on Suicune, such as Rotom-C and Hydreigon.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers, such as Choice Band Heracross and Choice Specs Kyurem, weaken walls, thus allowing Suicune to sweep more easily. Sweepers, such as Dragon Dance Salamence and Swords Dance Lucario, can capitalize on Suicune's ability to weaken the opposing team. Due to Suicune's ability to force many switches, entry hazard setters, such as Empoleon and Krookodile, are helpful teammates. Suicune is weak to Grass- and Electric-type attacks, so Dragon-types and Grass-types, such as Dragalge and Tangrowth, respectively, can switch in on those attacks.

move 2: Calm Mind

move 4: Roar / Ice Beam

evs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Substitute allows Suicune to safely set up Calm Minds and scout the foe's moves. Calm Mind allows Suicune to become a threatening setup sweeper, as it boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense by one stage. Scald is a consistent STAB attack that deals decent damage and also has a good chance to burn the foe. Roar allows Suicune to phaze the foe, thus preventing Suicune from being beaten by other bulky setup sweepers and Pokemon from attempting to set up on Suicune. Ice Beam provides excellent coverage alongside Scald, hitting most Pokemon that resist Scald for either neutral or super effective damage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread and nature give Suicune great bulk, particularly physically, while ensuring that it is able to outspeed up to neutral-natured base 71 Speed Pokemon, which include Adamant Tyrantrum and Modest Hoopa. Leftovers gives Suicune a form of recovery, mitigating the HP loss from using Substitute. An alternative EV spread of 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe can be used should more bulk be preferred over Speed. Another alternative EV spread is 252 HP / 112 SpA / 144 Spe with a Modest nature, which should be used if more offensive prowess is favored over increased bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Suicune should be sent in against Pokemon that cannot threaten it much, such as Darmanitan and Doublade, and proceed to use them as opportunities to set up Substitute or Calm Mind. Before attempting to sweep with Suicune, be sure to weaken or remove its checks and counters. Suicune can weaken some of its own checks and counters through the use of the move in the fourth moveslot. Should Roar be used, Suicune can capitalize on predicted switches into one of its checks or counters and phaze it out, racking up entry hazard damage on the opposing team. Should Ice Beam be used, however, Suicune can capitalize on the safety of being behind a Substitute when one of its checks or counters weak to Ice is sent in and weaken or KO that switch-in with Ice Beam.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters, such as Bronzong and Mega Camerupt, make for good Suicune partners, as Suicune appreciates their ability to wear down the opposing team with their entry hazards. Wish users with clerical moves, such as Florges and Blissey, also make for good Suicune teammates, as this Suicune set lacks any form of non-Leftovers recovery and a way to remove status conditions. Suicune needs to have the opposing team weakened before it can attempt a sweep, making wallbreakers, such as Choice Band Tyrantrum and Choice Band Darmanitan, good partners. Suicune is only weak to Grass- and Electric-type attacks, so Pokemon that resist both of those types, such as Goodra and Roserade, are good partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Suicune can utilize a Rest set with Chesto Berry to not waste any turns asleep, but using Chesto Berry means that Suicune is unable to hold Leftovers, decreasing its longevity. Suicune can also use Toxic to spread status, but it generally doesn't have the space to use the move on any moveset. Mirror Coat is an interesting option that allows Suicune to defeat special attackers that generally deal a lot of damage to it but cannot OHKO it; however, like Toxic, Mirror Coat generally doesn't fit on any moveset.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Pokemon Immune to Water-type Attacks**: Pokemon that have an ability that makes them immune to Water-type attacks, such as Dry Skin Toxicroak, Water Absorb Jellicent, and Dry Skin Heliolisk, can easily switch into Suicune's STAB attacks and either force it out or beat it one-on-one.

**Offensive Grass-types**: Most offensive Grass-type Pokemon in the UnderUsed tier can easily beat Suicune with their super effective STAB attacks. Roserade and Shaymin get special mentions for switching into Suicune without worry, as they both have access to reliable recovery and Natural Cure, which can remove any Scald burns simply by switching out. These Pokemon do have to be wary of a potential Ice Beam, however.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types can easily cripple Suicune with their powerful STAB attacks. Heliolisk and Rotom-C get special mentions, as the former is immune to Suicune's STAB attacks and the latter resists them.

**Specially Bulky Calm Mind Users**: Specially bulky Calm Mind users, such as Reuniclus and Slowking, can easily beat most Suicune sets one-on-one, but they are unable to beat Roar variants of Suicune unless they're the last Pokemon on their team.

**Phazers and Haze Users**: Pokemon with access to Haze or phazing moves, such as Haze Tentacruel and Dragon Tail Slowking, can easily remove any boosts that Suicune has accumulated.

**Trick and Switcheroo Users**: Pokemon that commonly run Trick or Switcheroo, such as Porygon-Z and Whimsicott, can cripple Suicune with a Choice item for the rest of the match.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Great overall bulk, solid defensive typing and decent offensive presence, allow it to be a top threat, as well as a reliable check to many threats in the UnderUsed tier. (Mention here specifically that it is one of the best Fire-type checks UU has to offer)
  • Gains access to Calm Mind, allowing it to act as an offensive and defensive setup sweeper.
  • Pressure allows Suicune to outlast a lot of Pokemon that would otherwise wall it, making it hard to check defensively.
  • Relies on Rest for recovery, meaning it can be taken advantage of during Sleep turns should it lack Sleep Talk.
Mention that it hates fast Taunters such as Hydreigon and Mandibuzz although both hate Scald burns.
Mention Cune also hates "water immune" mons such as Toxicroak and Heliolisk if it lacks Roar / Ice Beam.

Moves

  • Roar allows Suicune to phaze the opposing Pokemon, thus preventing setup sweepers (such as Toxicroak) from continuously setting up and rack up entry hazard damage on the opposing Pokemon, as well as preventing Suicune itself from being phazed should it attempt a sweep itself.
  • Scald is Suicune's STAB attack of choice, as it is very consistent and has a chance to burn opposing Pokemon.
  • Sleep Talk ensures Suicune is less passive during Sleep turns, as it has a 66% chance to select either Scald or Roar (I assume you meant Roar > Sleep Talk here), deterring most Pokemon from attempting to use Suicune as setup fodder.
  • Calm Mind boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense, allowing it to function as a dangerous setup sweeper (mention here how it becomes really passive without Sleep Talk though).
Set Details

  • Leftovers is the chosen item for this set as it provides Suicune with a source of passive recovery which it greatly appreciates due to it's reliance on Rest for healing.
  • The EVs give Suicune maximum physical bulk as it's typing is most catered to taking on physical threats such as Feraligatr, Aerodactyl and Mamoswine.
  • Pressure is the chosen ability as it's Suicune's only available ability and helps PP stall out pokemon trying to wear it down.

Usage Tips
========

  • The way this set is played varies depending on whether Sleep Talk or Calm Mind is chosen to be used in the last moveslot.
  • Should the former be chosen over the latter, Suicune acts as a consistent phazer which can shut down a good amount of physically offensive setup sweepers, as well as bulky setup sweepers, such as Dragon Dance Feraligatr and Calm Mind Reuniclus, respectively.
  • Should the latter be chosen, however, Suicune acts as not only a phazer but also as a bulky setup sweeper. Despite being able to fulfill more roles, Suicune becomes less consistent as a phazer due to the lack of Sleep Talk, leaving it vulnerable during Sleep turns.
  • Suicune should be capitalizing on the amount of switches it forces by either phazing the incoming Pokemon to rack up entry hazard damage or attacking the incoming Pokemon with Scald and try to burn it.

Team Options
========
  • Ground-types, such as Nidoqueen and Gligar, make for good partners, as they are immune to the Electric-type attacks usually aimed at Suicune while Suicune resists the Ice- and Water-type attacks aimed at those Ground-types. Ground-types do share a Grass-type weakness with Suicune though, so be sure to have a Pokemon that can take Grass-type attacks when pairing Suicune with a Ground-type Pokemon.
  • Grass-types make for excellent Suicune partners, as they resist both of Suicune's weaknesses while Suicune resists two of their weaknesses in Fire- and Ice-type. Mega Sceptile gets a special mention for being able to not only have a quad resistance to Grass-type attacks, it also has an immunity to Electric-type attacks.
  • Suicune forces many switches by virtue of its ability to phaze opposing Pokemon, making entry hazard setters, such as Mega Aggron and Cobalion (Forretress as well), good partners.
  • Should Calm Mind be used in the fourth moveslot, clerics, such as Florges and Umbreon, make for excellent partners, as they can remove the Sleep status from Suicune after Suicune uses Rest, preventing Suicune from having unnecessary Sleep turns.

  • Toxic can wear down some Suicune checks as they attempt to come in, but it usually struggles to find space for it on a set.
  • Mirror Coat can be used to grab surprise KOes on special attackers trying to target Suicune's often weaker defensive stat, however it's unreliable and often a waste of a slot.
  • Hidden Power Grass hits Gastrodon and other Water / Ground types hard, but misses out coverage on Empoleon while for the most part Water STAB is enough to beat those pokemon.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Pokemon Immune to Water-type Attacks**: Pokemon that have an ability that allows them to be immune to Water-type attacks, such as Dry Skin Toxicroak and Water Absorb Jellicent, can easily beat Suicune one-on-one. (mention Heliolisk here as well)

**Grass-types**: Most Grass-type Pokemon in the UnderUsed tier can easily beat Suicune with their super effective STAB attacks. Roserade and Shaymin get special mentions for switching into Suicune without worry, as they both have access to reliable recovery and Natural Cure, which can remove any Scald burns they might gain via switching. These Pokemon do have to be wary of a potential Ice Beam, however, as it will hit them for super effective damage.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types can easily cripple Suicune with their powerful STAB attacks, making them good Suicune checks. Heliolisk and Rotom-C get special mentions, as the former is immune to Suicune's STAB attacks and the latter resists them.

**Specially Bulky Setup Sweepers**: Specially bulky setup sweepers, such as Curse Snorlax and Calm Mind Reuniclus, can easily beat most Suicune sets one-on-one, but are unable to beat Roar variants of Suicune unless they're the last Pokemon on their team.

**Phazers**: Pokemon with phazing moves, such as Dragon Tail Slowking and Whirlwind Snorlax, can easily phaze out most Suicune sets, but are usually unable to phaze Suicune sets with Roar, as Suicune tends to be faster than most phazers in the tier.

**Trick and Switcheroo Users**: Pokemon that commonly run Trick or Switcheroo, such as Chandelure and Noivern, respectively, can Trick or Switcheroo a Choice item onto Suicune, crippling it for the rest of the match.

**Heracross**: Heracross has access to Guts and a high Attack stat, allowing it to easily 2HKO Suicune with a Choice Band, as well as gain an Attack boost should it get burnt by Scald.
Comments are in bold, if a QC member agrees 1/3 imo.

^The stuff you said to add in Moves of the first set doesn't rly need to be added since it's talked about in Set Details or Usage Tips. Otherwise I agree with all that you said.

My own stuff: in the intro you should say how Scald allows it to annoy or straight up break past things that would normally check it (like the two that NV mentioned) and deters physical attackers like Lucario from setting up on it, cause that's prob the #1 reason why Cune is so threatening.

For Team Options for Roar Cune, Roserade and Chesnaught should be mentioned for having good defensive synergy as well as being able to lay down Spikes. Usage Tips should say that Roar+Sleep talk works exceptionally on stall to check big threats like Gatr, Doublade etc. while CM+Roar works better on balance to compress a sweeper and a (softer) check to these.

For the offensive set, the last slot should be Tailwind / HP Electric with Sub mentioned in Moves.

And ChestoRest is viable for offensive sets in Other Options.

Checks and Counters - Grass types I feel like Whimsicott should be mentioned specifically cause of Encore.

Implement this all and 1/3 :o

extrasensory also hits tentracruel which can otherwise haze :heart:

mention rest/cm/scald/ice beam set either in the crocune set or oo

pokemon that are immune to water moves still have to be able to set up or else that are going to be stalled out by cune in the long run

curselax doesn't really reliably beat cune if it gets burned

whirlwind lax is never used like at all. haze tenta is a better mention here

subcm cune rly hates toxic spikes so mention poison type in team options

EDIT: also take trick users out of checks and counters

EDIT 2: actually hold off I'd like to catch you on ps/irc sometime, the checks and counters section needs a lot of work

Uh sorry been trying to catch Sam for a while but everytime I do it's either super late for him or I have to do something immediately after I make contact lol, will try to get this done asap but the timezone difference makes this pretty difficult.

RoarCune
  • You've listed Ground-types as teammates which is fine but you can further expand on that by saying Gligar and Nidoqueen can set up SR, and the latter Toxic Spikes too, to make Cune apply even more pressure through shuffling.
CroCune
  • Toxicroak and Heliolisk, who Cune can't touch due to Dry Skin, are also checked well by Ground-types, especially SpD Gligar, so be sure to give them more of a mention.
  • Grass-types also make good partners because they can take on Water Absorbers. Toxic Spikes is again great here to prevent Jelli from stalling Cune out, so give special mention to Roserade.
  • In Usage Tips mention that Cune should only attempt to set up if its counters are weakened or eliminated.
Offensive
  • I don't have much experience using this set but perhaps a more bulky EV spread deserves a mention here? The current onsite spread is 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe with a Modest nature that outspeeds Mega Aero under Tailwind which sounds like a reasonable option to me.
  • HP Grass deserves a mention as it nails Seismitoad and outright OHKOs Swampert and its Mega.
SubCM
  • A more offensive spread with heavy SpA investment, like 252 HP / 112 SpA / 144 Spe with a Modest nature is viable too so I reckon it deserves a mention.
C&C
  • Include Jellicent under the "Pokemon immune to Water" section since it can run investment to outspeed Cune and Taunt + WoW to stall it out.
Looks fine to me otherwise, once this is all implemented I'll give it a final look and give you your third check :) Nice work!

Implemented all of this. Regarding the Tailwind spread on Offensive, I was unsure of where the EV spread for Offensive was supposed to be - Set Details or as the main EV spread - but I ultimately put it in Set Details, as I felt the main EV spread should stay the same for more general sets that may not use Tailwind. I decided to remove the Substitute mention in Offensive and make Defensive SubCM just general SubCM.

"Ground-types do share a Grass-type weakness with Suicune though, so be sure to have a Pokemon that can take Grass-type attacks when pairing Suicune with a Ground-type Pokemon." - not all Ground-types share a Grass-type weakness with Cune so correct that, and also this statement: "Nidoqueen and Gligar get special mentions for being able to also set entry hazards." needs to be worded differently to include Ground-types in general because pretty much every Ground-type in UU can set up SR. I only specified Nidoqueen and Gligar in my previous post because those were the examples you had used. Fix these, everything else looks good so 3/3 after that!

GP 1/2
[OVERVIEW]

Suicune is one of the most centralizing Pokemon in the UnderUsed metagame, and for good reason. Suicune has access to amazing natural bulk backed by a solid defensive typing, making him it one of the sturdiest walls in the tier. Suicune's defensive qualities are further augmented by having Pressure, an ability that allows Suicune to outlast a lot of Pokemon that would otherwise wall it with ease, such as Blissey. Suicune also has access to Calm Mind and Scald, as well as decent Special Attack and Speed, allowing him it to have good offensive presence for a normally defensive-minded Pokemon.

Despite having so many positives, Suicune does not come without its faults. Suicune lacks access to a form of reliable recovery, forcing it to rely on Rest for to ensure it has good longevity throughout a match. Suicune is also very reliant on its STAB attacks for damage, making him it vulnerable to Pokemon that have an immunity to Water-type attacks, such as Dry Skin Heliolisk.

[SET]
name: RoarCune
move 1: Roar
move 2: Scald
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk / Calm Mind
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Roar allows Suicune to phaze the opposing Pokemon, thus; it preventings setup sweepers from continuously setting up, (AC) and racks up entry hazard damage on the opposing Pokemon, and prevents as well as preventing Suicune itself from being phazed should it attempt a sweep. Scald is Suicune's STAB attack of choice, as it is very consistent and has a chance to burn opposing Pokemon. Sleep Talk ensures Suicune is less passive during sleep turns, as it has a 66% chance to select either Scald or Roar, deterring most Pokemon from attempting to use Suicune as setup fodder. Lastly, Calm Mind is an option, as it boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense, allowing it to function as a dangerous setup sweeper.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item for this set as it provides Suicune with a source of passive recovery, which it greatly appreciates, as it is reliant on Rest for recovery. The given EVs maximize Suicune's physical bulk, allowing it to take on the many dangerous physical attackers in the tier, such as Feraligatr and Mamoswine.

Usage Tips
========

The way this set is played varies depending on whether Sleep Talk or Calm Mind is chosen to be used in the last moveslot. Should the former be chosen over the latter, Suicune works exceptionally well on stall teams as a check to various threatening physical attackers and setup sweepers, such as Swords Dance Feraligatr and Curse Snorlax. Should the latter be chosen, however, Suicune helps its team with role compression by being able to fulfill the role of a bulky setup sweeper, (RC) as well as a good, albeit softer, check to the physical attackers and setup sweepers previously mentioned. Regardless of which move is chosen, Suicune should generally be capitalizing on the amount of switches it forces by either phazing the incoming Pokemon to rack up entry hazard damage or attacking the incoming Pokemon with Scald and trying to burn it.

Team Options
========

Ground-types, such as Nidoqueen and Gligar, make for good partners, as they are immune to the Electric-type attacks usually aimed at Suicune while Suicune resists the Ice- and Water-type attacks aimed at those Ground-types. Ground-types are also commonly used as entry hazard setters, making them even better partners to Suicune. Ground-types do not resist Grass-type attacks, (AC) however, and some Ground-types are weak to them, so be sure to have a Grass-type resistant Pokemon when pairing Suicune with a Ground-type. Grass-types make for excellent Suicune partners, as they resist both of Suicune's weaknesses while Suicune resists two of their weaknesses in Fire- and Ice-type. Roserade and Chesnaught get special mentions, as they are able to set Spikes for Suicune, while Whimsicott gets a special mention for being able to lock Suicune into a support move via Encore. (er, that Whimsicott bit doesn't seem to belong in Team Options) Suicune forces many switches by virtue of its ability to phaze opposing Pokemon, so making entry hazard setters, such as Cobalion and Mega Aggron, are good partners. Toxic Spikes users, such as Tentacruel and Dragalge, also make for good Suicune partners, as they can set Toxic Spikes that cripple many of Suicune's checks and counters as they switch in upon switch-in. Should Calm Mind be used in the fourth moveslot, clerics, such as Florges and Umbreon, make for excellent partners, as they can remove the sleep status from Suicune after it Suicune uses Rest, preventing it Suicune from having unnecessary Sleep turns.

[SET]
name: CroCune
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Scald
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind makes Suicune a terrifying bulky setup sweeper, as it boosts not only Suicune's Special Attack, (RC) but also its Special Defense. Scald is a consistent STAB attack that also has a burn chance, allowing Suicune to have an easier time against powerful physical attackers. Rest gives allows Suicune to have a form of non-Leftovers recovery that not only heals it to full HP, (RC) but also removes any status conditions Suicune gains. Sleep Talk ensures Suicune isn't useless during sleep turns. Ice Beam is also an option in the fourth moveslot, giving as it allows Suicune to have super effective coverage against Grass- and Dragon-type Pokemon, (RC) while also having good neutral coverage in conjunction with Scald.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the item of choice, as it gives Suicune passive recovery, (AC) thus increasing its Suicune's longevity. A Bold nature is used in tandem with the given EVs to ensure Suicune maximizes its physical bulk while also maintaining good overall bulk. Suicune should only attempt to sweep once its checks and counters are either removed or weakened.

Usage Tips
========

Suicune should constantly apply pressure to the opposing team, either by constantly repeatedly using Scald to wear down its checks and counters or by posing as a constant threat by setting up against teams that don't have a solid answer to it. Suicune should either wear down the opposing team so that either it or its teammates are able to break through the opposing team.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that resist both Grass- and Electric-type attacks, such as Grass- and Dragon-types, such as Hydreigon and Virizion, make for good Suicune partners, as they resist both of Suicune's weaknesses; Hydreigon and Virizion are some examples. Grass-types are make better partners, however, as they can take on a most Water-immune Pokemon that have abilities that grant those Pokemon a Water-type immunity. Roserade gets a special mention for being able to set Toxic Spikes, (AC) which ensures Water Absorb Jellicent isn't able to check Suicune. Suicune's main checks are Electric-types, making Ground-types, such as Nidoking and Nidoqueen, good partners. Ground-types, especially specially defensive Gligar, also deal with Toxicroak and Heliolisk, premier Suicune checks, with ease. Special walls, such as Blissey and Florges, also make for good Suicune teammates, as they're able to take on special attackers that Suicune can struggle with while Suicune is able to take on the physical attackers that these special walls have trouble against. Due to Suicune's ability to force many switches, entry hazard setters, such as Forretress, also make for good partners are good teammates.

[SET]
name: Offensive

move 2: Hydro Pump / Scald
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Tailwind / Hidden Power Electric
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense, making it a threatening special sweeper. Hydro Pump is a powerful, albeit unreliable, STAB attack. Scald, on the other hand, is a less powerful but consistent STAB attack that also has a chance to burn the opposing Pokemon. Ice Beam gives good coverage in tandem with Suicune's STAB attack of choice, hitting Dragon-, Grass-, (AC) and Electric-type Pokemon among others for either super effective or neutral damage. Tailwind allows Suicune to sweep past more offensively orientated teams, as well as allowing Suicune to support its teammates by giving them a Speed boost. Hidden Power Electric allows gives Suicune to have super effective coverage against Water-types. Extrasensory is also an option on the fourth moveslot to hit Toxicroak, a common Suicune check, for super effective damage. Lastly, Hidden Power Grass is also an option to hit Swampert and Seismitoad for super effective damage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread maximizes Suicune's damage output and Speed, while and a Timid nature is used to ensure Suicune is able to outspeed many threats in the metagame, including Mamoswine, Feraligatr, (AC) and Chandelure. Leftovers gives Suicune a form of passive recovery, thus extending its longevity. An alternative EV spread consisting of 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe with a Modest nature is also usable for Tailwind variants, as this EV spread gives Suicune more bulk to be able to set Tailwind and the given Speed EVs allow Suicune to outspeed up to Mega Aerodactyl after a Tailwind.

Usage Tips
========

Suicune should only attempt to sweep after all its checks and counters have either been either significantly weakened or removed. Depending on its set, these checks and counters vary. For instance, a Vaporeon could easily outlast most variants of this set. However, a variant that has Hidden Power Electric in the fourth moveslot can easily use Vaporeon as setup bait and proceed to sweep the opposing team. This set is also, for the most part, unexpected, (AC) so it can be used to lure in threats that commonly switch in on Suicune, such as Rotom-C and Hydreigon.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers, such as Choice Band Heracross and Choice Specs Kyurem, make for good Suicune partners, as they can weaken walls, (AC) thus allowing Suicune to sweep more easily. Sweepers, such as Dragon Dance Salamence and Swords Dance Lucario, also make for good partners, as they can capitalize on Suicune's ability to weaken the opposing team. Due to Suicune's ability to force many switches, entry hazard setters, such as Empoleon and Krookodile, are helpful teammates make for good partners. (getting repetitive) Suicune is weak to Grass- and Electric-type attacks, making so Dragon-types and Grass-types, such as Dragalge and Tangrowth, respectively, are good partners, as they resist both Grass- and Electric-type attacks.

[SET]
name: SubCM
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Calm Mind
move 3: Scald
move 4: Roar / Ice Beam
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Substitute allows Suicune to safely set up Calm Minds, as well as scout the opposing Pokemon's moves. Calm Mind allows Suicune to become a threatening setup sweeper, as it boosts Suicune's Special Attack and Special Defense by one stage. Scald is a consistent STAB attack that has decent damage output and also has a chance to burn the opposing Pokemon. Roar allows Suicune to phaze the opposing Pokemon, thus preventing Suicune from being beaten by other bulky setup sweepers, as well as deterring Pokemon from attempting to set up on Suicune. Ice Beam provides gives excellent coverage alongside Scald, hitting most Pokemon that resist Scald for either neutral or super effective damage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread and nature ensures give Suicune is able to have great overall and physical bulk while ensuring it is being able to outspeed up to neutral-natured base 71 Speed Pokemon, which includes outspeeding Adamant Tyrantrum and Modest Hoopa. Leftovers gives Suicune a form of recovery, mitigating the HP loss from using Substitute. An alternative EV spread of 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe can be used should more bulk be preferred over Speed. Another alternative EV spread is 252 HP / 112 SpA / 144 Spe with a Modest nature, which is used should be used if more offensive prowess be is favored over increased bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Should Roar be used in the fourth moveslot, Suicune can capitalize on predicted switches into one of its checks or counters and phaze it out, thus racking up entry hazard damage on the opposing team. Should Ice Beam be used in the fourth moveslot, however, Suicune can capitalize on the safety of being behind a Substitute when an Ice-weak check or counter to it Suicune is sent in against it and weaken or KO that check or counter with Ice Beam.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters, such as Bronzong and Mega Camerupt, make for good Suicune partners, as Suicune appreciates their ability to wear down the opposing team via their entry hazards. Wish users with clerical moves, such as Florges and Blissey, also make for good Suicune teammates, as this Suicune set lacks a way to remove status conditions and any form of non-Leftovers recovery. Suicune needs to have the opposing team weakened before it can attempt a sweep, making wallbreakers, such as Choice Band Tyrantrum and Choice Band Darmanitan, good partners to it. Suicune is only weak to Grass- and Electric-type attacks, making so Pokemon that resist both of those types, such as Goodra and Roserade, are good partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Suicune can utilize a Rest set with Chesto Berry to not waste have any Sleep turns sleeping, but using Chesto Berry means Suicune is unable to hold Leftovers, decreasing its longevity. Suicune can also use Toxic to spread status, but it generally doesn't have space to use the move on any moveset. Mirror Coat is an interesting option Suicune has access to that allows it to take advantage of special attackers that generally deal a lot of damage to Suicune but cannot OHKO it, and OHKO them in return, but, like Toxic, it generally doesn't find space on any moveset.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Pokemon Immune to Water-type Attacks**: Pokemon that have an ability that allows them to be immune to Water-type attacks, such as Dry Skin Toxicroak, Water Absorb Jellicent, (AC) and Dry Skin Heliolisk, can easily switch into Suicune's STAB attacks and either force it out or beat it one-on-one.

**Offensive Grass-types**: Most offensive Grass-type Pokemon in the UnderUsed tier can easily beat Suicune with their super effective STAB attacks. (fine to keep but it seems kinda obvious to me)

**Electric-types**: Electric-types can easily cripple Suicune with their powerful STAB attacks, making them good Suicune checks. Heliolisk and Rotom-C get special mentions, as the former is immune to Suicune's STAB attacks and the latter resists them.

**Specially Bulky Calm Mind Users**: Specially bulky Calm Mind users, such as Reuniclus and Slowking, can easily beat most Suicune sets one-on-one, but they are unable to beat Roar variants of Suicune unless they're the last Pokemon on their team.

**Phazers and Haze Users**: Pokemon with access to Haze or phazing moves, such as Haze Tentacruel and Dragon Tail Slowking, respectively, (this isn't wrong but not really necessary imo) can easily remove any boosts Suicune has by either using Haze or phazing Suicune out.

**Trick and Switcheroo Users**: Pokemon that commonly run Trick or Switcheroo, such as Porygon-Z and Whimsicott, respectively, can Trick or Switcheroo a Choice item onto Suicune, crippling it cripple Suicune with a Choice item for the rest of the match. (that is also fine, but I kind of wanted to remove the repetition of "Trick or Switcheroo")

Set Details

Usage Tips
========

========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Other Options

===================

Implemented all of this, rly sorry for all the repetitive stuff and dumb mistakes lol, I did this all in one setting and got tired throughout the last 3/4 of it, but thanks a lot for the check. 500th post too o.o

Heads-up: If Pressure actually helps the set in some way, expand on it in Set Details.
Suicune also has access to Calm Mind and Scald, as well as decent Special Attack and Speed, allowing it to have good offensive presence for a normally defensive-minded Pokemon.

Despite having so many positives, Suicune lacks access to a form of reliable recovery, forcing it to rely on Rest for good longevity throughout a match. Suicune is also very reliant on its STAB attacks for damage, making it vulnerable to Pokemon that have an immunity to Water-type attacks, such as Dry Skin Heliolisk.

Roar allows Suicune to phaze the opposing Pokemon; it prevents setup sweepers from setting up, (AC) and racks up entry hazard damage on the opposing Pokemon, as well as preventing and prevents Suicune itself from being phazed should it attempt a sweep. (What if the opposing phazer is faster?) Scald is Suicune's STAB attack of choice, as it is a very consistent and has STAB attack with a good chance to burn the opposing Pokemon.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

The way this set is played varies depending on whether Sleep Talk or Calm Mind is chosen in the last moveslot. Should the former be chosen over the latter, Suicune works exceptionally well on stall teams as a check to various threatening physical attackers and setup sweepers, such as Swords Dance Feraligatr and Curse Snorlax. Should the latter be chosen, however, Suicune helps its team with role compression by being able to fulfill the role of a bulky setup sweeper as well as a good, albeit softer, check to the physical attackers and setup sweepers previously mentioned. (I still think this sounds too much like "aforementioned" but I'll allow it.) Regardless of which move is chosen, Suicune should generally be capitalizing on the switches it forces by either phazing the incoming Pokemon to rack up entry hazard damage or attacking the incoming Pokemon with Scald and to trying to burn it.

Team Options
========

Ground-types, such as Nidoqueen and Gligar, make for good partners, as they are immune to the Electric-type attacks usually aimed at Suicune while Suicune resists the Ice- and Water-type attacks aimed at those Ground-types. Ground-types are also commonly used as entry hazard setters, making them even better partners to Suicune by helping it wear down its foes. Ground-types do not resist Grass-type attacks, (AC) however, and some Ground-types are weak to them, so be sure to have a Grass resistant Pokemon resistant to Grass when pairing Suicune with a Ground-type. Grass-types make for excellent Suicune partners, as they resist both of Suicune's weaknesses, and while Suicune resists two of their weaknesses in Fire and Ice. Should Calm Mind be used in the fourth moveslot, clerics, such as Florges and Umbreon, make for excellent partners, as they can remove the sleep status from wake up Suicune after it uses Rest, preventing it from having unnecessary Sleep wasting turns.

Moves

Calm Mind makes Suicune a terrifying bulky setup sweeper, as it boosts not only Suicune's Special Attack but also its Special Defense. Scald is a consistent STAB attack that also has a burn good chance to burn the foe, allowing Suicune to have an easier time against powerful physical attackers. Rest gives Suicune a form of non-Leftovers instant recovery that not only heals it to full HP but also removes any status conditions Suicune gains. Sleep Talk ensures that Suicune isn't useless during when it's asleep turns. Ice Beam is also an option in the fourth moveslot, giving Suicune super effective coverage against Grass- and Dragon-types Pokemon while also having good neutral coverage in conjunction with Scald.

Set Details
========
Leftovers gives Suicune passive recovery, thus increasing its longevity. A Bold nature is used in tandem with the given EVs to maximize its Suicune's physical bulk while also maintaining good overall special bulk. Suicune should only attempt to sweep once its checks and counters are either removed or weakened. (This belongs in Usage Tips.)

Usage Tips
========

Suicune should constantly apply pressure to the opposing team, (RC) either by repeatedly using Scald to wear down its checks and counters or by posing as a constant threat by setting up against teams that don't have a solid answer to it. Suicune should wear down the opposing team so that either it or its teammates are able to break through. (This is contradictory to the last sentence in Set Details.)
