Probably the last bump I'm going to do. There is 24 hours left to enter, we only have 17 people so your chances are still good!



I'm part of a little group of smogon breeders called "The Type Of The Month Club" where we pick a pokemon type, breed some pokemon of said type and then giveaway and exchange the fruits of our labor.

This Month I am hosting the Water type. Below are the pokemon available for the giveaway with some simple rules to follow:

1. You must PM me a picture + a fun fact about a plant or animal that primarily lives in water. I am a biologist so I can appreciate entries regarding fungus, bacteria etc but I will also know if you just made shit up.
2. The max number of photos+facts is 3. Each photo is not considered a separate entry but the more interesting/odd things you choose the better you will be overall judged.
3. I will run this giveaway until July 2nd 12 am GMT -5
4. I will then share the entries with my fellow club members and we will judge who deserves a prize.
5. You will be able to choose your prize, the number of prizes will depend on how many people enter.
6. We would like the re-dis policy on the pokemon to be followed, the more often people ignore this the less cool prizes we may offer.
7. All pokemon will be level 1 and un-trained.

Now, let's say you're breeding with 2 5IV pokemon with x in the same stat. Just like the 5IVx6IV breed, the absolute worst you can expect is 4IVs: the RNG can pick the random stat in something perfect, plus the RNG can pick the x stat for either the mother or the father. The problem with this is that you're more likely to get 4IV pokemon, as the RNG can pick the mother to pass the x stat, and it can pick the father to pass the x stat (where with a 5IVx6IV, it can only pick the x stat from the 5IV), thus breeding between 2 5IV pokemon with x in the same stat is STILL sub-optimal.

Thus, in general, it is always superior to breed with a 5IV and a 6IV pokemon over 2 5IV pokemon.

I'm not arguing your point, however with 5IV and 5IV your only outcome is the exact IV spread or 4 IV. With the 6IV and 5IV you could still get a 5IV, but not the target spread.

So if the chance of having 4IV is the same either way, not use the 5IV and 5IV and have your target spread instead of random 5IV spread?

If anyone has a Donphan with stealth rock before everything was shut down, i would greatly appreciate a message to set up a trade. I have some good things to trade for it with more than a 1:1 ration of trade as well

Untrue. Using 5IVx5IV, you're just not going to get very many 5IV spitbacks (as often as your RNG spits out a perfect 31 IV for the random stat, which isn't very often), and you'll get a WHOLE lot of 4IV pokemon (way more than with a 5IVx6IV). And that's ONLY when you use 2 5IV pokemon with x in the same stat. I'd rather have the 5IV spitbacks myself.

But, everyone is entitled to breed their own way, and if you'd prefer breeding with 5IVx5IV, then that works for you, and I wish you luck with it. :)

If you could transfer me one with these moves, no IVs, nature, or gender preference I would be grateful. Here's what I can offer.

Only 2 moves I request with any gender: BP items, mega stones, 0 SPd IV ferroceed with leech seed and SR
Prankster Sableye, Droight Vukpix, Pokerus, red Gyarados (no rng so bad stats), EV training of 2 pokemon.

All moves I request, male: female defiant Piplup, spitback iron fist Chimchar with Egg moves (ask me), Encore Wobbuffet with 31/x/31/x//31/x, EV training of 3 pokemon, 31/0/31/31/31/31 rotom modest.

But I am saying the target IV spread. If you are continually getting 5 IVs but not the 5 IVs you want, then how is using a 6IV helping your outcome?

I time machine breed so this has no outcome on my effects.

Hi, I can help you with the TSV. Deposit a pokemon in the GTS (tell me what it is) and ask for a male Bunnelby. I should have your TSV by tomorrow.

For the SID, you need to download a programme called PkHex and follow the instructions. I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.... Or you can use an action replay. Or PM .com
