Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

Played my first ladder matches on PS yesterday and I already ran into some pretty interesting stuff to say the least... Unfortunately I didn't save any replays, but none of them were that spectacular anyways.

Stuff I remember off the top of my head include Bulk Up Talonflame, people repeatedly trying to Toxic my Heatran and one guy switching out of my Togekiss to reveal his mighty counter... I don't remember exactly what it was, but I remember it used Focus Blast which did less than the lefties recovery. He immediately quit afterwards.
Bulk Up is actually a legit move on TFlame.

Bulk up Talonflame is one of the recommended Smogon sets. I use it and it's devastating. It has swept a number of teams 6-0 by itself.

Dunno... I've mostly seen Talonflame as a hit&run Poke, and it's not like it can take a hit even after bulk up. Not saying it can't work, but the guy using it didn't seem to really have a strategy... Otherwise he would've removed SR first since Talonflame at 50% will die to just about anything if it takes a turn to bulk up.
Its surprise factor helps it set up. Run it with max sp def, burn physical attackers, bulk up and roost residual damage. It's easy to get it to +2 or even higher, at which point you have a priority abusing tank with priority recovery.

ETA: just remembered that this forum has a funny thing about multiple posting. Sorry for any offence caused, mea culpa.

Interesting. If you say it works I'll take your word for it since I've never used Talonflame myself. I sure as hell didn't expect it so you're probably right about the surprise factor lol.

Done.

This forum is no longer "silly things you've seen on the OU ladder", its become, "Here! Try to beat someone with this redicoulsly bad team!"
~_~
But if you manage to beat someone with such a bad team the person must have some silly things on his team

Sludge Bomb Houndoom beats Azumarill, which is very useful.

• Choice Band Latios,
• Choice Band Greninja,
• Choice Band Volcarona,
• Choice Band Thundurus-I,
• Choice Band Manaphy.

greninja can be physical for niche stuff, as can thundurus-i, unless you mean they had special moves with choice band.

I know it's alright, but it isn't that good. But a team with 6 Choice Band wielders is not good teambuilding, in my opinion. Especially when it involves Flare Blitz Volcarona and Zen Headbutt Latias..
I thought you couldn't be that bad. Then I saw someone with Moonblast Smeargle.
I can beat that. Hidden Power Smeargle.
