Gen 1 [PU] Golbat [GP 1/1]

[OVERVIEW]

Clearly winging it, Golbat doesn't have even the slightest hope of taking flight in PU. Right off the bat, outside of its above-average Speed, all of its stats are below-average to bad. It lacks any powerful attacks or utility options, usually failing to draw blood from its target. In fact, it's completely unable to sink its fangs into Gastly due to its lack of coverage. Its typing is also very subpar, leaving it battered in the face of common Ice-, Psychic-, and Electric-type attacks. While its Speed and access to Confuse Ray are quite solid, the only thing blood curdling about this vampire bat is how terrible it is.

Confuse Ray can give Golbat extra turns, though it's quite unreliable. Screech is the most useful form of utility Golbat has, and it slightly abates its low attacking power. Double-Edge is Golbat's primary means of battering its opponent. Hyper Beam can be used over Screech or Double-Edge as Golbat's most powerful attack. Mega Drain lets Golbat leech health off its target but is only useful as coverage against Rock-types, such as Graveler and Omanyte. While Golbat already does about as much damage as a vampire in the sun, Gastly completely stonewalls Golbat, so checks to it such as Drowzee and Abra make good partners.

Right off the bat, (LMAO) its mediocre to bad stats leave its place in the meta severely battered., (RC) (this one flops, change it; you can say boltbeam etc "batter" it later or something) while its It movepool lacks any powerful attacksing or utility options, leaving it never able to usually failing to draw blood from its target. The latter also notably leaves it In fact, it's completely unable to sink its fangs into Gastly. The only thing blood curdling about this vampire bat is how terrible it is. (cover its few upsides before ending the paragraph - Cray, 90 speed in a tier where not much beats that... yeah thats about it.)

Screech's presence is rather of ar-bat-ary, (sorry i cannot allow this in good conscience, tone the puns down) but it's (apostrophe) the most useful form of utility Golbat and sightly a-bat-es its low power (okay if you just take the hyphens out this one can pass). Double-Edge (AH) is Golbat's primary means of battering its opponent. Hyper Beam can be used over Screech or Double-Edge (AH) as Golbat's most powerful attack. Mega Drain lets Golbat fulfill its role as a vampire bat and leech health off its target, but it's (apostrophe) only useful as coverage against Rock-types, (AC) such as Graveler and Omanyte.
