PU Poliwrath

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Circle Throw
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Despite the recent departure of Kingler, Poliwrath remains a prominent defensive staple in the PU metagame. It differentiates itself from other common walls thanks to its fantastic bulk and excellent defensive typing, which allows it to consistently check some of PU's most prominent threats and, most notably, serve as one of the most consistent answers to Rock-types such as Aggron and Lycanroc, which it can repeatedly check thanks to Rest and Sleep Talk. Additionally Scald and Circle Throw allow it to immediately deter setup from the likes of Gurdurr and Type: Null. Because of this, it fits best on balance and semi-stall, which appreciates its ability to check the aforementioned wallbreakers. While Poliwrath may have a considerable list of strengths, it still struggles with Flying-types such as Oricorio-G and Swanna, so Pokemon such as Togedemaru and Regirock make good partners. Psychic-types such as Mesprit and Alolan Raichu also pose a huge threat, so Dark-types such as Skuntank and Spiritomb also make excellent partners.

Despite the recent departure of Kingler, Poliwrath has remained a prominent defensive threat (i'd say staple over threat) in the PU metagame! Poliwrath differentiates itself from other common wallls (walls) thanks to the combination of its stellar bulk (i wouldn't go as far to say stellar, especially when considering its spd. it's good though yes), excellent defensive typing, which allows Poliwrath to consistently check some of PU's most prominent threats, including Aggron, Lycanroc and Physical Skunktank, which it can repeatedly check thanks to the combination of Rest and Sleep Talk (it's basically the go-to rock-type check alongside mudsdale). Additionally, Poliwrath's access to moves such as Scald and Circle Throw allows Poliwrath to immediately deter setup from the likes of Gurdurr and Type: Null, while also crippling potential switch-ins such as Qwilfish and Spiritomb (nah qwil isn't crippled at at. circle throw can be used to phaze it before it can spikes more than once, but that's about it). Because of this, Poliwrath is best utilised on Balance and Semi-Stall teams, which greatly appreciate its ability to check the aforementioned wallbreakers (poliwrath can phaze with spikes stack too, and froslass is a great partner for it). While Poliwrath may have a considerable list of benefits, Poliwrath still struggles to deal with Flying-Types such as Oricorio-G and Swanna, so Pokemon such as Togedemaru and Aggron make good partners (are you recommending aggron as a check to any flying-type :blobglare:. change it please). Psychic-Types such as Mesprit and Jynx (because this is a facebook spotlight i'd try and mention another psychic-type. jynx creates farrrr too many "what if" scenarios with basically all of its checks) also pose a huge threat to Poliwrath, so Dark-Type pokemon such as Skuntank and Spiritomb also make for excellent partners.
working on it. i should reject on the font alone tho
Implement this then tag me again, just so we can trim stuff down once it's all in.
