Alright, so everyone knows how useful running a certain move on mons can be, especially with being able to lure and KO threats/checks to that mon. The point of this thread is to have a list of uncommon moves that can lure threats, so people can see why that move is useful, and also what it hits. At the moment, we are currently adding non-stab moves that help with coverage in order to have both coverage and lures in a single compendium.

Rules
Only suggest viable moves/lures, and an explanation for each one will be really helpful. If it looks good and is explained well, I'll add it to the compendium. There's also some mons that are missing from the list, and that's because there's no good lure moves for them atm, so if anyone has one, feel free to share it and if reasoning is good, I'll consider adding it. Right now, the list of mons goes from S Rank through B- Rank.
Here's a little advice before posting a lure:

Does this Pokemon have to sacrifice anything important? If you're losing a key part of a set just for an uncommon threat that isn't even lured in that is what we call a "bad lure", always consider what you give up in order to lure something, that is very important.

This thread looks really great and I really like the idea, nice job! You've done a really thorough job so far but I'd like to touch up the section on Jirachi. First off, Drain Punch is a really shitty lure for Heatran and Ferrothorn, with even Scarf Heatran avoiding the 2HKO 80% of the time.

252+ Atk Jirachi Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 144-170 (44.5 - 52.6%) -- 19.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Jirachi Drain Punch vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 144-170 (37.4 - 44.1%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Jirachi Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 102-120 (28.9 - 34%) -- 98.7% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery


Secondly, one could argue that Icy Wind is better than Ice Punch in most cases as it hits the ice move targets' lower defensive stat and has the added bonus of lowering the speed of switchins. I think it should at least be slashed.

Thirdly, Grass Knot should probably be slashed with Energy Ball as Grass Knot is stronger against Hippo, Mega Slowbro, Suicune and Mega Swampert at the cost of doing shit all to Rotom-W.

Lastly, I want to share one of my favourite Jirachi lure sets, posted in the creative sets thread by Starmei.

Apicot Berry makes Natural Gift ground type. Natural Gift Ground has a major benefit over Hidden Power Ground in that it actually OHKOs Heatran because it hits on the physical side and has signifcantly more BP.

208+ Atk Apicot Berry Jirachi Natural Gift (100 BP Ground) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 368-436 (95.3 - 112.9%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Expert Belt Jirachi Hidden Power Ground vs. 248 HP / 192+ SpD Heatran: 211-250 (54.8 - 64.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Expert Belt Jirachi Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 274-326 (84.8 - 100.9%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

As an added bonus it also OHKOs Magnezone and does nice damage to Bisharp.

With all these TankChomp and Landorus discouraging the use of SD Talonflame, Natural Gift Ice is a pretty neat option to combat them. Apicot Berry gives NG Ground, for the likes of Heatran. It's also been used effectively in high level play like this game.

This idea came from the 2 guys above, but Natural Gift berries make great lures, so if you're not sure about a lure, try those out, as I'll be happy to include them on the list :)

Make sure the pokemon can actually learn Natural Gift first...
 
Some of the things I noticed:

Jirachi :

1) Thunderbolt to hit bulky Waters which wall it. It differs itself from Energy Ball because Thunderbolt also hits Talonflame, Tornadus-T and Mega Charizard-Y.

2) Icy Wind lures the same stuff as Ice Punch except without the recoil from Rough Skin. It also gives Speed control.

3) The NG Ground also hits Mega Charizard-X


Volcarona:

1) Remove Jirachi from the HP Ground targets since your Fire STAB hits it much harder.

2) HP Ice is your only way to deal with Mega Altaria. It also allows you to hit Dragonite, Specially Defensive Gliscor, Garchomp and Landorus-T. It also retains the Super Effective hits on Mega Pidgeot, Togekiss, Mega Aerodactyl and Tornadus-T (although Fire Blast still hits everything except Mega Aero harder)


Serperior :

1) Add Mega Metagross and Bisharp to HP Ground's target


Altaria :

1) Outrage: Hits Talonflame, Mega Venusaur, Amoongus, Zard-Y, Victini and Tentacruel.

EDIT: Is Return Azumarill even a thing? Pretty sure +6 Knock Off OHKOes Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel after Rocks anyway.

I wouldn't add Zard X as a HP Ground target for Serperior, as Dragon Pulse already nabs it.

*Shadow Ball Manaphy doesn't lure in Lati@s, Celebi and Slowbro because they don't want to switch in anyway because of Ice Beam / Energy Ball.
*A +3 Scald is almost a guaranteed OHKO on Metagross and Meta fails to OHKO back, so even as a revengekiller Metagross is not reliable. I don't think you'll often see a Metagross switching in against Manaphy and if it does Scald does the job pretty well.
*Doublade, Jirachi, Bronzong and Metagross won't switch in against Alakazam because they don't like Shadow Ball (except SpD Jirachi) which does more than HP Fire
*I'd personally change Fire Blast Altaria to DD + Fire Blast Altaria, because Skarm, Ferro and Scizor won't switch in against Altaria until they are sure you are DD / Defensive. If you show DD you can lure them with Fire Blast but without DD it won't work.
*Also like RP said add Outrage on Altaria
*Low Kick Bisharp also lures in MAggron

I also think there should be a mention of resist berries (+ coverage moves) because they also lure in some pokemon but fail to do so without the berry

- Wacan Berry / Rindo Berry Manaphy on TG 3 Attacks Sets (lures in electric type revenge killers / serperior and venu)

I agree with the other suggestions.
DPulse ZardY is nice because it also does a ton do Offensive Altaria, Dragonite, Dragalge and Zard X. Wisp is another option to weaken Hippow / TTar / Altaria / Aerodactyl etc.

Not sure why Torn-T needs Iron Tail when Life Orb Hurricane 2HKOes Clefable and Mega Altaria anyway (except against Diancie ). AV sets can't even 2HKO with any move, even with Iron Tail.
Icy Wind can be slashed with HP Ice which nets the guaranteed 2HKO against those threats (Icy Wind has a tiny chance of not 2HKOing) except without the utility of Speed control.

Also HP Fire Metagross should invest in some SpA, so it could potentially do 50-60% to Ferro (I think?)
It lures in regular Altaria which is still a solid switch in, it's a bit overly specific for hitting Altaria, but it works.

HP Fire Metagross is total garbage and should never be used, ever.

also, will-o-wisp Charizard for ground types that would typically switch into it (lando, hippo) or even azu / alt lacking heal bell

Knock off does KO Tentacruel, but does 70% max to Mega Venusaur. Return is better for hitting Megasaur, but inferior in most situations because it forces Azumarill to run Jolly with at least 188 ev's invested into Speed to outrun Defensive Mega Venusaur, and isn't even a guaranteed OHKO.

+6 252 Atk Huge Power Azumarill Return vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mega Venusaur: 309-364 (84.8 - 100%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

add psy move (shock or stored power) clefable for tenta/opposing clefs/venu, hp ice landt for opposing chomp/landts, dazzling gleam mana for kyube (preferably with wacan), ice fang aero for chomp/landt (if you consider it a lure), you can consider adding ng water talon as it hits a unique pool of checks (ttar/tran/diancie/aero/scor), add tpunch dnite to hit both azu and skarm, add superpower dnite to hit both tran and ferro, slash superpower with low kick on gatr cause no attack and defense drop is nice, add hp ice volc for alt/aero/chomp, add smack down landt for skarm/rotom
remove iron head from chomp and its mega as sd is 100% better, remove hp rock talon as it's bad cuz what it should hit outpaces/outprioritizes it and is sr weak anyway, remove thundr fang aero as it does zero % to slowbro and the likes

I think it's about time for this thread to get an update, Add Amoongus to Mega-Altaria's Fire Blast, add Garchomp to Lucario's Ice Punch, add Keldeo and Mega Heracross to Aerial Ace Weavile, also can you slash Iron Tail with Iron Head on Dragonite. Can we add some C Rank Pokemon now? I think it's been long enough, and I have a few good Lures that I can add to the list.

+1 Earthquake from Zard X already kills uninvested T-tar after Rocks (luring Support doesn't matter because it can easily be worn down into kill range while Mega isn't common enough to warrant wasting a move to lure it). Heatran can just be hit by D-Claw to break the Balloon since Earth Power can't kill.
