The Occulture has added new Paradox Pokemon to the 'Enigmas of Paldea', come take a look!

:sv/delphox:
Name: Burning Sage
Original Pokemon: Delphox
Type: Fire/Fairy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Stats: 101 / 77 / 81 / 111 / 97 / 103 [BST 570]
Paradox: Past
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Disarming Voice, Draining Kiss, Eerie Spell, Fiery Dance, Moonblast, Moonlight, Poltergeist, Play Rough, Spirit Break
Removed Moves: Foul Play, Low Kick, Thunder Punch
Description: Fire/Fairy Delphox pre-cursor who unleashes ancient magic to strike fear into its foes.
:swsh/golisopod:
Name: Slicing Tide
Original Pokemon: Golisopod
Type: Water/Flying
Ability: Protosynthesis
Stats: 79/145/79/89/139/39
Paradox: Past

New Moves: Rising Divide, U-Turn, Defog, Acrobatics, Bounce, Night Slash, Sunny Day, Hurricane
Flying type first impression clone, Slicing move

Removed Moves: Leech Life, First Impression, Iron Head, Poison Jab, Struggle Bug, Iron Defense, Harden, Bug Buzz, Bug Bite, Pin Missile, Skitter Smack, Defense Curl, Metal Claw, Venoshock

Description: Based on an old book about how Pokemon once used crude weaponry, and depicts a golisopod in fluttering cloth displaying a slash so fast it could be perceived as flying
:Swsh/sentret:

Name: Iron Glider
Original Pokemon: Sentret
Type: Normal / Flying
Ability: Quark Drive
Stats: 80 / 96 / 90 / 74 / 80 / 150
Paradox: Future
New Moves: Extreme Speed, Acrobatics, Air Slash, Fly, Flame Charge, Volt Switch
Removed Moves: Nah (is Tidy Up a problem)

Description: A Sentret made of metal with funny goggles, more pronounced flying squirrel gliders, and a rocket on its tail. Sort of goofy looking like Bundle

Justification: Very fast. Very, very fast. Has a little offensive potential with STAB booster energy acrobatics, but with a lesser attack stat. Poor typing creates an interesting dilemma for the little pivoting speed demon.
:sm/sceptile-mega:
Name: Iron Tower
Original Pokemon: Sceptile/Mega Sceptile
Type:

The user sends a disorienting pulse to the target, making them flinch and disabling their ability for 3 turns. It works only on the first turn each time the user is sent into battle.

Comp. Justification: Fast special attacker/utility mon, taking a support role like Scream Tail without being nearly as passive. Can Leech Seed, Thunder Wave, Defog, set screens, and Signal Jam, which is a pseudo-Fake Out with no priority, but Iron Tower's natural high speed should cover for it. The ability suppression is big, doesn't affect Proto/Quark abils, but lets it neuter, say, Supreme Overlord :kingambit:, Unaware :dondozo:, Protean/Libero :greninja::meowscarada::cinderace:, etc. If you need a power boost, one of the rare mons that gets access to Tail Glow but its current SpA is decent enough as a support mon.

Description: Robo-Sceptile with a radio tower/cellphone tower tail, a creative reinterpretation of its Mega having Lightning Rod. Eyes just glow a pure neon green, laser gun hidden inside its mouth. The "bulbs" on its back are replaced with actual light bulbs that turn off/light up as it charges up.

Iron Tower: Manipulative, Brainwashing Menace?!

A Pokemon that looks like a Sceptile has been spotted up on high outside towns and cities with its tail pointed skyward. It's a deadringer for an enigma recorded in the ever-intriguing Violet Book. It interferes with radio waves and transmits garbled noise, but for what purpose is unknown. Some theorize it to be a mating call, others saying its trying to brainwash people and Pokemon to do its bidding! Neither have been confirmed, but it's probably for the best to not listen to this creature's strange song for long...
Congratulations to all the winners! Feel free to discuss them and how they'll impact the metagame. Next slate will come in about 24 hours :]

Congratulations to the winning participants!

Here are my thoughts on the winning pokemon:

:delphox:
Fire/Fairy will never be bad as a typing, but the icing on the cake is that its a fire type past paradox mon. 103 speed is pretty okay after a proto boost (Modest 305 -> 457, Timid 335 -> 502), and 101/81/97 will certainly give Burning Sage some shocking longevity.
:golisopod: LETS FRICKEN GO
Water/Flying is amazing both offensively and defensively, I can see this thing working awesome on what im predicting will be “anti-sun” teams. Slicing Tide’s bulk isn't too bad either, with a clean 79/79/139. Signature move fixes the age old problem of “no reliable flying stab”, even if only on the first turn out, and it gets U-Turn for some actual pivoting. Kept Spikes too by the looks of it, might be good as an offensive hazard-setter.
:sentret:
Could go crazy with booster + STAB acrobatics, and tera normal/flying. Aside from that, no opinion on glider at the moment.
:sceptile-mega:
Amazing lead, looks like. First turn out ability nullification sounds at absolute worst really funny, and grass moves allow it to not be walled by ground types. Has a pretty meh matchup into ting-lu but ting-lu isn’t very common right now anyways.

holy crap one of my subs actually won

:delphox: :golisopod: Both of our Past Paradox mons being weak to Stealth Rock should help balance out the fact that they both seem very strong. STAB "First Impression" off of 145 Attack from Slicing Tide is going to hit a lot of things very hard, and as has already been pointed out Blazing Sage will love its Fire moves to be powered up in Sun. Slicing Tide's biggest flaw is likely going to be its low Speed. The fact that its Water STAB is reduced in Sun means that it probably will work great on Rain or weatherless teams (also Hurricane of off base 89 Special Attack can still hit pretty hard it your opponent does not expect it). Blazing Sage will probably suffer from 4MSS, as it will likely have to choose between running a boosting move or running recovery in Moonlight; a coverage move would most likely be mandatory, as its STAB combo is resisted by opposing Fire types. also I hadn't considered how good of a move Moonlight would be on sun teams, I can't wait to see how you guys use it

:sentret: :sceptile-mega: Both these boys are very fast, and hit solidly hard. If there was anything that reliably set up Electric Terrain I would say we should be very afraid of Iron Tower, as a high Speed Pokemon with Tail Glow is that much scarier when its Speed and one of its STAB moves are boosted by the terrain around it. Iron Glider sounds adorable, but honestly might just be best used as a fast hazard remover (though STAB E-Speed is pretty nice).

Burning Sage sounds very powerful on Sun teams, and serves as potent offensive counterplay to the likes of top threats like Gholdengo, Great Tusk, Kingambit and Iron Valiant. Will be a great addition to the metagame.

Slicing Tide is imo a largely a mediocre Pokemon hard carried by an honest to god broken ass move. People are treating as just STAB First Impression. Nah, this is a STAB Flying type priority move, coming off 149 Attack. If you have this Pokémon in your back pocket I find it hard for akot of Pokémon to pull off successful sweeps once their HP falls bekow a certain threshold. Anything weak to flying? Consider that on thin ice at 70% HP or less. That being said, outside of it's move its nothing major to righy home about. It's extremely slow, and that hurts both its offensive and defensive utility, but I wouldn't be surprised that it proves somewhat problematic later down the line as the metagame settles and develop due to it's sig.

No jokes about it, Iron Glider is a shit mon. 96 Attack is horrible, it doesn't pack Swords Dance either. It gets no real Flying STAB either, as I assume it's intent is to rely on Booster Energy + Acrobatics which has it's own problems as a SR weak Pokémon. Extreme Speed is nice, but to get any mileage out of it you need Choice Band. I think it's only real niche is that using this Pokémon you will have unblockable hazard removal, but no one runs Maushold as dedicated hazard control for a reason.

I was going to note how Iron Tower also feels like a shitmon, but it has come to my attention that it gets Tail Glow, which makes it alot more potent as an offensive mon. 98 SpA is once again really low, but Tail Glow can allow you to instantly crank up the heat, and your offensive typing is good enough as to where getting the chance tp successfully pull off a Tail Glow versus teams shouldn't be too much an issue. Honestly losing Focus Blast kinda sucked, but I think Tail Glow + Dual STAB and Volt Switch will give you alot of mileage as a revenge killer and reverse sweeper itself. Its signature move feels like Ambipom style noob bait, literally do not waste energy running that move when you can Tail Glow wallbreak or Volt pivot.

:delphox:

What can I say, literally another Fire/Fairy Delphox lol. That being said, Fire/Fairy is a great typing, and under Sun it's gonna commit some war crimes with Fire Blast + Moonblast + Nasty Plot + Moonlight for longevity ig.

:golisopod:

Ah yes, the Rising Divide Band from a 145 Atk mon. Honestly it sounds like some kind of a Golisopod and Slither Wing fusion, except that Flying is way better as a typing than Bug. Gotta wait and see.

:sentret:

I literally don't know why I would be running it on any team. I mean, STAB Extreme Speed is cool, 150 Speed is cool as well and all, Tidy Up is also very cool but like... Why would I be running this? Even Adamant, 96 Atk is low, ig some offensive sets with Booster Energy and Tidy Up/Extreme Speed/Acrobatics/something, and Tera Normal or Flying, but still, this leaves me a little confused on what it's supposed to do.

:sceptile-mega:

Tail Glow fast mon. Funny. Grass/Electric is nice coverage and hits key targets, but is easily walled by any Dragon and Grass. Wait and see on this one, but I refuse to think this could be unviable as Tail Glow + high Speed + potential for Booster Energy sounds crazy at least on paper.

Paradox: Past

New Moves: Herbal Aroma, Leech Seed, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Tera Blast, Branch Poke
Grass Type-Special-80 BP-15 PP- If target is statused, does 1.5x damage and cures the target's status.
Removed Moves: Geomancy, Calm Mind, Thunder, Thunder Wave

Description: "Legends say it can share eternal life. It slept for a thousand years in the form of a tree before its revival." This is that tree. Herbal Aroma is a real interesting move giving it will cure the opponent if they are statused. Might have some niche uses if people bring Gutsmon around but mostly it's a slightly weaker Leaf Storm but without the caveat of tanking your Special Attack.

Removed Moves: Roost, Oblivion Wing

Description: It is speculated to be a weapon from the future that only is seen when the fate of the world is at stake. Obviously an Oblivion Wing clone would be a little much for OU so we get a Bitter Blade clone instead.

A question for the leaders. All Paradox Pokemon based on explicit Legendary Pokemon have 590 BST regardless of Mega form. Will we be able to apply this to our current creations?
this was an oversight on my part and i heavily apologize for it. i should've checked first—

so yes, all subs in this slate must have 590 BST. do adjust your subs according to this rule. thank you G-luke for notifying this :psycry:

:sv/zygarde-complete:
Name: Iron Guardian
Original Pokemon: Zygarde (based on its Complete Form)
Type: Steel/Dragon
Ability: Quark Drive
Stats: 116 / 74 / 120 / 124 / 86 / 70 (590 BST)
Paradox: Future

New Moves: Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Tera Blast, Volt Switch, Titan's Judgment
Type: Steel
Category: Special
BP: 100
Accuracy: 100%
PP: 10 (max 16)
Flags: Pulse, Protect
Description: Nullifies the target's positive stat changes on use (including Quark Drive and Protosynthesis boosts).

Removed Moves: Crunch, Bulldoze, Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Grass Knot, Coil, High Horsepower, Scale Shot, Toxic

Description:
A living weapon, created without equal.

A warrior, noble and just, yet without restraint.

Created as a last resort, it was designed to protect the final refuges of humankind in their darkest hours. Its exterior is heavily armored and renders it impervious to most physical harm, while its interior is bursting with a mysterious, powerful energy. It channels that energy as photon rays from its hands and wings. It is loyal to the noble and just, and injustice or harm of any kind will send it into a deep rage.

Competitive Description: Defensive pivot that takes advantage of its good bulk and defensive typing, as well as its solid attacking power and coverage, to hit hard and bring in teammates safely. Can run a variety of items, such as Leftovers for passive recovery, Assault Vest to shore up its special bulk, or Heavy-Duty Boots to stop hazard damage. Its signature move gives it a unique form of anti-setup, letting it shut down potential set-up sweepers while also hitting decently hard too (it even affects Protosynthesis and Quark Drive boosts too!). Suffers from a lack of reliable recovery, which hurts its longevity, as well as being a Steel-type that doesn't resist Fairy thanks to being part-Dragon type, giving it potential issues versus mons like Iron Valiant and Burning Sage.
