Hi all! it has been a while since I done one of these. I recently created a team surrounding a Mega Garchomp and Ferrothorn core, but I can't find the necessary 6th teammate! Please Help!
#1: Wallbreaker Mega Garchomp
Garchomp @ Garchompite
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
I have had a lot of fun playing with Mega Garchomp recently. He is the team's powerful wallbreaker, Easily punching holes in enemy teams, while also setting up stealth rock just to add to his usefulness. Earthquake easily destroys most neutral foes, and gets rid of most of the pesky steel types like Magearna, Heatran, and Mega Mawile in one go. Draco Meteor catches Lando, Torn-T, and Rotom-W off guard, and can often OHKO after stealth rock. Fire blast hits grass types who switch thinking they can escape, such as Bulu, Tangrowth, and Ferrothorn. Mega Garchomp sets up the stealth rock, and early in the game punches sizable holes in the enemy team.
#2 Offensive Tornadus-Therian
Tornadus-Therian @ Metronome
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Defog
This beautiful Pokemon compliments Garchomp well, making up for it's lackluster speed and taking on flying types such as Lando. Hurricane is a powerful stab, which threatens any grass types or volcaronas which dare stay in against it. It also has great nuetral coverage, meaning it is a hard hit against many Pokemon. Knock is extremely useful, throwing off items from foes it can't touch, such as Ferrothorn, Zapdos, and Celesteela. Removing their leftovers makes it much easier to wear them down. U-Turn is the pivot move of use, and is great to do some chip damage as well. Finally, Defog clears away any excess hazards on both sides of the field. Tornadus-T is an amazing offensive Pokemon, with few real switch ins due to Knock Off or Hurricane.
#3 Hazard Setter Ferrothorn
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 232 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip
Ferrothorn and Garchomp make a great hazard stacking core, and are the main focus of this team. Spikes compliments the hazard stacking, and makes it unbearable for certain Pokemon to switch in. Leech seed can be used on predicted switch ins, giving Ferrothorn more hp as well as limiting the enemy's Pokemon's time on the battlefield. Thunderwave cripples faster switch ins, and can make it easier for other wallbreakers to destroy. Power whip is a high base powered grass type move which can threaten water types like Greninja and Tapu Fini. The second half of the hazard setting core, Ferrothorn is also an excellent wall, and checks Greninja (also AshNinja), Tapu Fini, rain teams, and many others!
#4 Defensive Rotom-Wash

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe

- Pain Split
Rotom is a nice switch in against fire types like Heatran, and compliments Ferrothorn's typing by being a secondary option to check greninja, as well as being mainly a physical wall. Hydro Pump does a surprising amount of damage, and can one shot certain Pokemon weak to water like Lando and pressure other ground types. Volt Switch is a clean way to pivot out, and completes a VoltTurn core with Tornadus. It also does nice damage against water types and flying types. Will O' Wisp makes sure that physical attackers cannot switch for free, further crippling them, halving the damage of their attacks. Pain Split is the closest thing to a recovery move Rotom has. In effect, Rotom relieves a lot of the pressure from Ferrothorn.
#5 Shift Gear Magearna

EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Calm Mind
- Fleur Cannon
- Focus Blast
Where to begin, Magearna is the best sweeper on this team. if just given the opportunity to set up, she will clean up the mess the wallbreakers leave behind, and with hazard stacking its even easer for her to get those sweet, sweet ko's. Shift gear boosts her speed, making her much faster. Calm Mind increases both her special defense and special attack, increasing her damage output. Fluer Cannon wipes out anything not resistant to it at +1, and for those extra bulky threats, a fairium z will do. Focus Blast mops up other nuisances fluer cannon doesn't destroy. Magearna can sweep entire teams, with little to no effort.

Here I have explaining to do. The team feels very fluid, except for the 6th slot. I have tried to fill it with Pokemon, but they just don't seem to work. Ash Ninja is an excellent Wallbreaker nonetheless, and even a form of speed control thanks to priority In water shrunken. Hyrdo Pump hits like a truck, murdering almost anyone not resistant to it. Dark Pulse mops up literally everyone else.Water shrunken is a nice form of priority, and since I run spikes on ferrothorn, I put ice beam in ash ninja to fight grass types.
