Resource Fun (& Possibly Bad) Teambuilding Workshop (Not For The Faint-Hearted)

Status
Not open for further replies.
I am going to be posting my teams here like how a lot of people do. They're all free to use, of course. Tell me what you think of them...! I don't know how often this will be updated though. I tend to play offense / balance. So expect those types of teams. *Constructive* criticism is okay.
I should mention that I have certain Pokemon I have no idea how to use / teambuild with, and others that I know how to use and teambuild w/ very well. Some Pokemon that I'm horrible w/ using are Clefable, Gothitelle, Dugtrio, Weavile, Chansey, Conkeldurr, Slowbro. Some Pokemon I'm great w/ are Mega Aero, Mega Gyara, Excadrill, Victini, Volc, Mega Diancie, Garchomp, Thund-I/T. There are Pokemon that I just never use such as Talonflame, Charizard, Diggersby, and Dragonite.
I am not the most experienced player, but everyone starts somewhere...! I like teambuilding so I think that's what I want to become experienced at first.

(Note/additional info: I have everything written out, etc. but I've made quite a bit and spent a lot of time doing so. I'll try to edit this thread later if that's a thing, and add sprites, etc. and maybe more teams that I might've missed that are worth posting)

Successful Teams

Excadrill / Absol / Milotic / Zapdos / Jirachi / Thundurus-I
This team is very fun, it's my first successful OU team I've ever made. This was made back in X/Y. It gets absolutely destroyed by Lopunny though in ORAS. Still a fun team, but probably won't get you very high on the ladder due to the Lopunny weakness. Milotic's Hidden Power can be changed to Grass, but it seems like people think they can setup Gyara against Milotic, and a +2 - +4 HP Electric kinda stops it. People tend to lead Lando so if you lead Milotic it's a free +2, then they tend to pivot into Rotom-W so HP Grass can help a lot. I remember that Absol's special attack investment was for something, but I just can't remember what. I don't think anything else really needs to be explained besides X-Scissor Exca is outdated and is for Celebi, and a lot of people don't seem to remember it gets X-Scissor anymore.
Milotic tends to abuse Lando-T leads and dents the team, Thund-I does Thund-I things, Zapdos + Rachi as walls you can use healing wish rachi if you'd like this team was made in X/Y while it didn't have healing wish, Absol *can* sweep, but it seems like Exca does the most sweeping lategame in this team.

Garchomp / Manaphy / Celebi / Heatran /Thundurus-T / Latias
Disgusting Celetran core b/c Celetran core is fun and very versatile. 3 attack Manaphy kinda just destroys everything that scarf chomp doesn't, I also love using Fire Blast on my scarf chomps. I'll be honest, I have no idea why Thund-T has NP but it does. I remember that this team worked great. No mega though, so you can use this team in No Mega OU if you'd like. It's a very strong team.

Mega Gardevoir / Serperior / Excadrill / Tyranitar / Thundurus-T / Landorus-T
Hyper Offense! I thought about this team's sweeping core being Gard + Serp! They seem to work really well together in a Hyper Offense setting. You can use Will-O over CM if you'd like though as it seems like Will-O would help more. Normally this team seems to win w/ Thund-T the most. Thund-T does A LOT mid and late game. Ttar+Exca b/c Exca is very strong and w/ SD it's a bit insane once you take down Rotom, but I think a lot of people actually already know this. Serperior has HP Ground instead of Ice b/c it's so easy to punish players who think Heatran and such completely shuts down Serperior. You can run HP Ice if you really want to, there were a few games where HP Ice would've been so much better, but HP Ground still does a lot. Lando-T set is the one I enjoy, it's an ubers set and I suppose it isn't very optimized for OU, but Max Attk EQ does A LOT and players don't seem to see Toxic coming, you can mess around w/ the spread and such if you'd like.
As it is, it was very successful and still does quite a bit and it has things it loses to, but that's HO for you. Your games will obviously end fast one way or another. It's not perfect, but it's not horrible either. This team was made before Weavile became so popular, but you can still find ways to play around it and beat Weavile's.

Mega Diancie / Latias / Scizor / Landorus-T / Skarmory / Raikou
This team I don't know how to explain. there are standard ubers sets in here and it's hard to explain. Diancie is a standard Ubers set, it was the only one on Smogon and I didn't know what to use. I know speed tying w/ 110's and such is important, and it can be easily remedied by just using 252/252 Timid. This set in OU I'll try to justify though. I wanted to use a CM Diancie. I really did. And here it is. Diamond Storm with this spread punishes Clef / sylv switch ins fairly well. AV users that don't resist Diamond Storm still take a lot of dmg as well from it. you can CM up on things like Magic Guard Clef if it's uninvested. If you're at like +1/+2 Sylv can't do too much. If you want to run the 252/252 Timid I would say not to run HP Fire. It's surprisingly not very needed on this team.
Rocky Helmet Skarm helps w/ physical attackers like Mega Lopunny and Metagross which can give this team some trouble. It can help a bit against Bisharp as well, but it doesn't necessarily completely stop Bisharp lol. I assume it can help against Azu as well.
Latias gives a welcomed second chance to any "win condition" you may have in the battle, and it helps quite a bit.
Raikou helps w/ special attackers and talonflame.
Hazards are kinda important on this team. If you can get Spikes up, it's very welcomed. If you want to be that guy that uses Diancie to try and bounce back rocks set up by Lando / chomp / exca or w/e you can very well try. If it's successful it'll surely pay off.
Ubers Lando-T set b/c I really like using it in OU. Not much more to say about it. It also checks other Lando-T's, and if they're defensive you can Toxic it easily to really pressure opposing Lando-T and win easier. They'll assume you're scarfed when they don't see an item so you can also bank on the fact that they'll bring in something like Hippo on Lando-T and you can Toxic it. W/o investment it's still kinda frail but intimidate helps.

Teams that I'm not quite sure if they're great or not, but they're still here. If you use them, tell me how they go!!

Zygarde / Heatran / Raikou / Mega Aerodactyl / Celebi / Scizor
This team is based around choice banded Zygarde. I wanted to use Zygarde. I think it's somewhat nearly kinda decent. I thought it has all the tools but lacked something for OU. I thought CB might be okay w/ it. It's pretty decent TBH. Everything is to help Zygarde and Mega Aerodactyl or Scizor to sweep. All the members can do things for the others. Celetran b/c I needed something for Talonflame and a few other mons that I can't exactly remember, the walls should be able to be replaced for other walls.

Mega Glalie / Victini / Landorus-T / Bisharp / Starmie / Conkeldurr
Glalie team where I want Glalie to do stuff. I don't have Explosion b/c I feel it can do a bit more than just Explode on a Skarm or something. Victini I believe is a fine partner for Glalie as they can help each other a lot, surprisingly, at least to what I found. Eplate Lando-T b/c that's basically the only type of Lando I like. Physically Defensive Starmie, I don't quite remember why, maybe for Bisharp? I don't quite remember. But AV Conk b/c that thing never dies.

Teams that I forget if they were good or bad, regretfully.

Terrakion / Rotom-W /Hippowdon / Mega Metagross / Latias / Kyurem-B
This team revolves around just kinda destroying everything if I remember right. Terrak + Meta for mid/late game sweeping. Everything gets pretty straightforward when you see these kind of Pokemon together. Latias gives something a second chance which is really good w/ this team.

Mega Gyarados / Rotom-W / Excadrill / Jirachi / Landorus-T / Kyurem-B
(Mega) Gyarados Offense. I think this was a fairly decent team, but I can't remember what everything did. Really good AV Exca set though. I think that X-Scissor wouldn't be bad on Exca since +2 Giga Drain from Celebi only does like 30%, so it's your call if you're scared of NP BP Celebi or not. Lure Rachi to lure in Ferro, Skarm, Lando-T and such to make it easier for the other teammates.

Teams that I've never tried, might not sound decent, and things in progress or needing change. So, this is the misc. section.

Absol / Landorus-T / Raikou / Terrakion / Klefki / Tornadus-T
I wanted to use Absol as a sweeper. And I wanted to use Smack Down SD Lando-T. My friend told me to use Expert Belt. This'll be interesting. There are 2 choice scarfers. I thought that scarfed Terrak might be nice. And I felt like dual scarf could be kinda nice as well. Raikou is EVed to outspeed scarfed Latios/Latias. Klef is for hazards which is really good w/ Absol, and Pokemon like Terrak.
Klefki has Magic Coat for Stealth Rocks. It'll help try and combat other status moves as well. If they predict a switch and toxic on your Magic Coat it could end up great, same if they twave, etc. I have Twave but you could easily run Toxic instead or Magnet Rise.
Torn-T is for Keld. It's AV. I feellike speed tying w/ other Torn-T is important, but I have no idea what to take away from for this. If you think it's important as well, feel free to mess around w/ that.

MY MEME TEAMS, OH HOLY MOTHER OF MEMERS THIS IS IT...! Purely fun teams w/ nothing but gimmicks that are just fun. You may not win games, but you'll have fun...! And that's what matters...!

Show Me The Switch In! Featuring Noivern / Sableye / Jirachi / Kyurem-B / Dragalge / Zygarde
Self-explanatory. this is more of an AG team. But it is still good enough for what it is in OU. And I like this team not just b/c it's fun to drop dracos everywhere w/ little drawback, but you also hit Pokemon that *should* be immune to moves, which is always very satisfying. Basically, you drop dracos. You outrage b/c you're mad. You sludge wave those steels. This is just based around Ring Target fun! Noivern + Dragalge *actually* works in UU though. Noivern's Draco does around 40% I believe to standard defensive Florges. But basically this is just a team for if you want to spam those dragon type moves... Especially Draco... Drop a draco, friend. :]
