Over the past couple rounds we've received an increasing amount of requests from people saying "x agreed to tutor me", or "can I request x tutor if possible". That's not how we make pairings -- it's unfair to the people who lack Smogon connections, and it's unfair to the people who sign up early and make a very concerted effort to be in this program.
There are rules and there are guidelines that we follow when making pairings. First, those who were skipped get priority and get a tutor. Second, Those who posted early are assigned to the remaining tutors.
As a lot of tutees want to be tutored in the current metgame (XY OU) we don't have enough tutors in this tier but we still have enough low tier tutors with no tutee so we have to check the whole thread to see if there are users who posted late who want to be tutored in those low tiers.
