[SET COMMENTS]
  • Cresselia is one of the premier support Pokemon, with a versatile movepool, exceedingly high bulk, and a new signature move in Lunar Blessing that synergizes especially well with setup focused teammates. It's is held back by its lack of offensive presence however, and requires strong teammates alongside it so it doesn't become a sitting duck.
  • Psychic hits Iron Hands and Amoonguss, the latter of which will frequently impede teammates making use of Trick Room, and is the best option for damage when it's not necessary to use one of Cresselia's utility moves. Alternatively, Ice Beam is often chosen to 2HKO Landorus-T and Dragonite.
  • Lunar Blessing is a new addition to Cresselia's movepool, restoring HP and removing status effects such as Burn for bulky set up users such as Palafin, Kingambit, and Iron Hands.
  • Trick Room is Cresselia's most reliable speed control option. Slow teammates such as Iron Hands, Volcanion, and Amoonguss make excellent use of this Speed reversal to get the upper hand against fast threats like Flutter Mane and Chien-Pao.
  • Ally Switch allows Cresselia to absorb attacks for a partner, such as powerful damaging moves that Cresselia can absorb with its great bulk or a Spore that it can block with Safety Goggles. Helping Hand gives teammates an extra power boost, making up for its own lacking offensive output. Ice Beam can be used as a secondary damaging option, hitting the likes of Landorus-T and Dragonite much harder than Psychic.
  • This EV spread survives a Dark Pulse from Timid Choice Specs Chi-Yu.
  • A Terastallization Type of Dark provides immunity to Tornadus's Prankster Taunt to guarantee Trick Room being set up, and is also useful to resist strong attacks from Chien-Pao or Kingambit.
  • Cresselia functions best alongside setup attackers and bulky attackers it can support with its utility options, as its own offensive presence is lacking. Swords Dance Iron Hands or Kingambit and Bulk Up Palafin are excellent for this, as Cresselia will clear status such as burn and sleep and allow them to set up and stay in for many turns. Amoonguss is another excellent teammate, being one of the slowest Pokemon in the metagame, it's often able to put multiple targets to sleep within the duration of Trick Room. Teammates that lack their own recovery such as Heatran and Volcanion strongly benefit from Lunar Blessing, being able to stay on the field for much longer and spread damage.
  • Fake Out support helps Cresselia to do its job, allowing it to set Trick Room and avoid being knocked out by multiple strong attacks, or heal a teammate in a pinch.

  • no overview point about it being among the best support pokemon in the tier for its bulk, utility options, and new signature move lunar blessing that synergizes extremely well with a plethora of setup attackers yet it is held back by its own lack of presence?
  • Psychic is used to do good damage to Amoonguss, which will frequently impede teammates making use of Trick Room. Alternatively, Ice Beam is often chosen to 2HKO Landorus-T and Dragonite 3HKO Tornadus (i mean psychic only does 10% less... and cresselia isnt an offensive check anyway, so drop this).
psychic is just used to chip foes so you can do something even when you're taunted or your utility options serve no purpose... it notably does good damage to amoonguss and iron hands (mention this) but imo you should rephrase that point
  • Lunar Blessing is a new addition to Cresselia's movepool (remove space), restoring HP and removing status effects such as Burn for bulky teammates set up users such as Palafin, Kingambit, and Iron Hands.
  • Trick Room is Cresselia's most reliable speed control option. Slow teammates such as Iron Hands and Volcanion make excellent use of this Speed reversal to power through get the upper hand against fast threats like Flutter Mane and Chien-Pao. Amoonguss is another excellent teammate, being one of the slowest Pokemon in the metagame, it's often able to put multiple targets to sleep within the duration of Trick Room. this is more of a line to use in the teammates section; you can rewrite it to "Slow teammates such as Iron Hands, Volcanion, and Amoonguss make use of this Speed reversal to get the upper hand against fast threats like ..."
  • A Terastallization Type of Dark provides immunity to Tornadus's Prankster Taunt from the likes of Tornadus to guarantee Trick Room being set up, but and is also useful to resist strong attacks from Flutter Mane (shit just moonblasts u) Chien-Pao or Kingambit.
  • Cresselia functions best alongside (remove space) a teammate it can continually enable, so that it's not a momentum drain for your (rewrite as not to include 'you') side of the field. Swords Dance Iron Hands or Kingambit and Bulk Up Palafin are excellent for this, as Cresselia will clear status such as burn and sleep and allow them to set up and stay in for many turns. mention amoonguss here, mention it enables other bulky foes w no consistent recovery like heatran and volc, mention rilla and hands are good fake out users
