Concerning Substitutions: At any point in time during the week, a team may make a substitution for an inactive player. In order to do this, a manager must post in the thread, tagging the hosts, the opposing managers and the opposing player stating which player is substituting out, and which player is substituting in. A player that has substituted out for a week cannot be substituted back in. In addition, in order to catch any attempts at garnering favorable matchups (where the lineup you choose affects pairings), all substitutions are subject to veto by the hosts if the substitution is suspected to be attempting to “game” the system.

Monopoke additionally does not count for Weekly Standings, its purely a for-fun slot. I'll update the players for slots when they get chosen, for those without players immediately.

SS Bo7: tears vs. XSTATIC COLD (I really want Carlos to prove himself in teamtours, but he's either a masochist or incredibly unlucky. He continues to throw himself at the best ss players [including xsc], and it doesn't seem to go all that well. XSC is at the top of his game, and I really don't think porygons can provide the support necessary to make dude's ideas beat the champ.)
SS Bo5: smely socks vs. LuckyPiper (shouldn't be close. while I don't think smely is worth anything near 18k, he's a great clicker with impressive support this tour. he smashed piper in wc too, iirc, who's ss support was probably better there with sice on the team. I don't expect an upset here)
SS Bo5: Downcoming3 vs. Close (I don't know much about close in ss, but he's a consistently good clicker across several generations. I don't necessarily like pqs starting over him, but I don't have that many better ideas to juggle newgens in this team. anyw, he's a step above dc3 and I expect it to show)
SM Bo5: Jamez155 vs. pqs (0-5qs lol. I don't know what deg was thinking when he drafted pqs and xsc and then slotted pqs into sm over mishlef, but I don't like it. I fully expect james to smash him here with dc3 support)
SM Bo5: Grain2Sel vs. Kentari (I'm really not a kentari fanboy; I think his teams have substantial holes to high-tier shit and aren't always cohesive, but he wins games. g2s is a solid ladder kid, but it's not like them nor james are really creative builders. kentari takes this in the teambuilder for sure.)
ORAS Bo5: Finchinator vs. Mubs (lol wtf is this)
BW Bo5: Potatochan vs. philisteen (potato's kinda built different in BW and as sacrilegious as it feels to say this, I think he's more in touch with the meta than deg is rn. kyub's ban is gonna lead to a lot of innovation, which I think potato can capitalize upon here)
DPP Bo5: Yami vs. Jabiru (Yami either goes godlike or does horribly in team tours, and I'm really not sure which way they'll fall this time around. I think this is an important match for both teams. gun to my head I'd probably predict cabb here, but this is as close to a 50-50 as this series gets)


Simping Slakings vs Pyramid of Poliwrath (8-0)

SS Bo7: Bopher vs. dogknees (my two favorite aussies. dogknees is a solid player, but worth nowhere near 19k, especially with poor ss support on his team. he really enjoys talking ideas out with others, and I'm not sure he'll be able to do that here as much as he likes. I definitely think this tour will be a far cry from the support he had in cone, so I'm interested to see how he does. I obviously hope he succeeds, but not vs my team. bopher is a strong player coming off of a strong ursalt with strong ss support. he'll take it for sure)
SS Bo5: Waylaid vs. Itchyfoot (I'm gonna be completely honest when I say that I have never seen itchy play a game in my life. I think they're a 2v2 player, which is cool, but I'm feeling awfully motivated after this draft and I think team support should be no issue here)
SS Bo5: magicarpe_lvl100 vs. Murman0064 (the only thing I know about murman as a player is that he asked for wins in reqs once, which was pretty funny. he got reqs fairly his second time around, but with over 100 games on a single account. I don't think he's consistent, whereas carpe performs well. shouldn't be close)
SM Bo5: LBDC vs. Akumajou (I'm like 5-0 vs suste in sm through both prep and play and synon and I have more experience than most in feeding lbdc teams. unlucky mu for suste here)
SM Bo5: AltCauseImInsecure vs. Boat (my heart jumped when I saw we got acii. I rate him top 5 sm players ever, and while boat is a good friend of mine, I don't expect this to be close)

SS Bo5: zio vs. Aliss (alice is a good clicker and builder. zio is a much better clicker and builder. he's more motivated, he has MUCH better support, and he's coming off of more success as of late. I really think rhyperiors are over their head in these first 2 matchups)
SS Bo5: Tricking vs. Bomb21XD (really just a toss-up. tricking has better support at the slight cost of never having played a game of 1v1 in his life. bomb is a solid player but is known to bring that shitty roserade team whenever he can, which frita captains denis and stable know about. if I'm being honest, I feel like bomb's gonna get owned in the builder and tricking's gonna miss a 3-0 or smth)
SM Bo5: Satanic Beast vs. TheShadowClaw (this is a fire matchup. alice made the right choice putting tsc in sm, but edgar is really solid here. I'm going with what I think is probably the upset here and picking edgar, though tsc wins every time if stable decides to help edgar prep)
SM Bo5: Freddy Kyogre vs. Joker 1v1 (I really don't think post-2019 freddy is very good. he's out of touch with the meta and isn't a good enough clicker for me to think he could beat a prepped joker here. it might be a close match, but joker should honestly take this one)
ORAS Bo5: DezShizzels vs. Lancer Fr (why is dez in oras... lancer's back, and while he got picked up by the rhyperiors, I don't think it's SO bad. the last time joker helped lancer prep he got kinda smashed, so I think it'd be best if he only built with fan this pl. regardless, dez as a starter confuses the hell out of me and I think lancer should win this handily)
BW Bo5: STABLE vs. eblurb (I'm 100% rooting for the blurb here. stable would straight up quit if he lost to the reigning classic champion in his pet tier, which would greatly benefit my team when we play the thwackeys. unfortunately, I don't expect that to happen. eblurb without crucify is like a ship without a sail)
DPP Bo5: Gym Socks! vs. 187 Fan (holy shit what a weird matchup. fan in dpp is weird, tho I guess he can get ink support if he asks nicely. I suppose it makes sense to juggle here, because the rhyperiors have 3 oras mains with one oras slot. I think gym is certainly a better builder than fan, but the looming threat of dpp ink [who's better than both] isn't something to take lightly. should be a fire series)

SS Bo7: Nalei vs. SiceXV (although sice is recently 1 and 6 against trans users, I really don't think he'll take this one home. nalei just won ursalt and while crucify + sice building is sure to be intimidating [it certainly carried the foxgirl], I honestly think nalei is better than the entire ss pool. I'll still predict for myself when I inevitably play her, but I doubt I'll bold against her the rest of the tour)
SS Bo5: Tom842 vs. crucify (no clue as to what rosa thought she was doing after drafting like 4 dpp players, but it seems to be a theme of hers. anyw, tom's getting smashed here. he might be able to outpick a couple games, but crucify is nothing if not consistently good. I'd have put him in bo7 over sice due to sice's tendency to tilt, but he'll still have no trouble here)
SS Bo5: Rellia vs. parr0t (parr0t is a cool dude but a painfully bad clicker. I have no doubts that his prep will be better than rellia's but rellia's definitely gonna outpick here. I'm honestly surprised that they didn't start d2 here, because on a team with cruc it really just comes down to who can pilot the best)
SM Bo5: UBERLandon21 vs. Squirtell 1v1 (Oh my god I can't wait for this match. it'll take EASILY 2 hours, but it'll be nothing if not an impressive show. I really can't decide here, because peak landon is better than everyone whereas squirtell is better than everyone not named "peak landon." I'd give squirt the edge if I had to, but it's too close to call)
SM Bo5: frostyicelad vs. lmni 1v1 (I'm a big frosty fan and I hope he wins but I can't see him taking enough games off of lmni to win the series. she's coming off of a solid world cup and decent play, whereas frosty is coming off of a slightly less solid world cup and also decent play. lmni in 5, probably)
ORAS Bo5: bea vs. LRXC (I don't think this really warrants an explanation but I'll bite. lrxc + crucify might be the most dynamic building core in this tour, whereas bea will bring at least 3 charizards this series. she's a good clicker but it's just not enough to have a decent shot here.)
BW Bo5: Rosa vs. Maki (this has got to be a joke. I'll bold maki because crucify 2907 is known to help people (eblurb) perform well past their ceiling in oldgens, but this is such a weird week 1 matchup between two non-bw players. I guess I didn't notice how shallow the pede's lineup is that they're starting maki in bw, but I am not a fan of this pairing)
DPP Bo5: Inkreativ vs. SoulWind (best oldgens matchup of the tour. one of the best dpp players versus soulwind, a former classic champion. I'd bold ink here because sw is probably out of touch, except lrxstepdad is gonna probably give some godlike prep here. can't wait to see how this one goes)

So these are my predictions, and I will put a ratio for each user to win a match-up. You reply or tag me saying what you disagree on and we wager. My projected winner is given a 1/2 ratio.

Explanation

A fractional listing of 6/1 (six-to-one) odds would mean that you win $6 against every $1 you wager (in addition to receiving your dollar back, i.e. $1 – the amount you wagered). In other words, this is the ratio of the amount (profit) won to the initial bet, which means that you will receive your stake ($1) in addition to the profit ($6), resulting in a total payout of $7. Therefore, if you stake $10 at 6/1, you get a total payout of $70 ($60 profit + $10 stake).

SS Bo7: tears vs. XSTATIC COLD I don't think I could physically predict the opposite. Has tears played any SS ever since DLC2 came out?
SS Bo5: smely socks vs. LuckyPiper weird slotting decision here. smely will have a much easier time beating piper, especially since the SS support on this team isn't as impressive. I figure Close wouldn't have much trouble beating smely and Piper would have more of a chance against dc3, but we'll see.
SS Bo5: Downcoming3 vs. Close dc3 hard flopped in wc against some meh opponents and Close absolutely crushed some extremely talented oppos with a 4-0 record. Miracles would need to happen
SM Bo5: Jamez155 vs. pqs Again, baffled by some of the slotting decisions. Kentari would beat James no swear and pqs would own G2S, but this MU becomes more of a toss up for pqs. He's been way more into SS which is the tier he was also planning to play (idk why he was slotted here instead of getting swapped with Close). Giving it to James although I strictly believe it wouldn't be too surprising if pqs won
SM Bo5: Grain2Sel vs. Kentari g2s has never played a teamtour and afaik the last time he has played 1v1 was like 1 year ago. Kentari stays crushing
SM Bo5: Jamez155 vs Kentari ok much better LU. Yeah Kentari is just amazing and james isnt very hot (benched in wc lol).
SM Bo5: Grain2Sel vs pqs lol just cteam
ORAS Bo5: Finchinator vs. Mubs finch in ORAS is a very ??? slotting decision, especially when his ORAS team support is literally negative. Not to talk about the fact that Finch's ssnl performances haven't been the most shining.
BW Bo5: Potatochan vs. philisteen deg might struggle building wise in post kyub meta, and having to feed a player to pick for you is way less viable than having a good builder than builds and plays for himself. + Potatochan won kyubless so this is the meta he was tailored for (gl in week 2 when dnite is gone tho kek)
DPP Bo5: Yami vs. Jabiru cabb has been more invested in current dpp than yami for what I've seen. Yami was even considering not buying themselves due to work-related time drains. Jabiru shouldn't have too much of a hard time here

SS Monopoke Bo5: Aurodian vs. Trashuny alt of a banned (and thus viable) user. I know from experience that xsc fucking helps with monopoke prep lmao.

Over-all closer than I expected, but porygons' winning MUs are very close to a coin-toss while catgirls' wins are expected to be bodybags.

SS Bo7: Bopher vs. dogknees 19k for a player whose overall teamtour record is 5-3 (lmao) and had to be carried by absurd SS support (which is pretty much non-existent on his current team) is absurd. This man was not worth more than 12k, which is already quite the overpay. While I don't like some of the dlc2 techs Bopher has been coming up with (stuff like scarf sylv), they do work, so I'm gonna give it to him. Even though, disclaimer, his only tour showing was 1-2 in wc (he didn't even get drafted in PL), so I think his pricetag as a manager was insanely exaggerated. I wouldn't be surprised if he lost this, since he's gonna have to provide support to other slots, and his building is insanely slow. As a first time manager, he might end up neglecting his own slot over others'.
SS Bo5: Waylaid vs. Itchyfoot I think Euphonos kinda took the "new blood" strategy from 2020 Asia quite too far, going as far as starting both Itchyfoot and Murman, players that I wasn't even sure were gonna get drafted, at most both as a permabench that build a bit until later weeks. These players don't even have a good builder to take as reference on the entire team, while as Asia had support demons deg and Kaif. It's gonna be extremely rough for either of the two to pull through with even a single win especially in the positions they're in.
SS Bo5: magicarpe_lvl100 vs. Murman0064 I've seen firsthand Murman's shortcomings when it comes to metagame knowledge, and there's some very big gaps to fill for him to become remotely viable. Again, as I've said before, his SS support is literally non-existent and carpe has shown he can beat formidable opponents with the correct support back in wcop. Let's see if he's still capable
SM Bo5: LBDC vs. Akumajou sust was extremely carried by support throughout his whole career, so even though he's an amazing clicker, he's in an awful position currently. He doesn't like the team at all, he has no SM support, and he's being put in this position as an extremely high pay vs.ing some of the best SM players of all time, being entirely un-supported for the first time. LBDC will be able to easily take advantage of sust's shortcomings. I'm scared of how Akumajou will fare in the long run throughout the rest of the tour as well, since I presume Euphonos will never move him from SM 1, and mantaining a positive record while going up against such behemots of the tier is gonna be extremely tough.
SM Bo5: AltCauseImInsecure vs. Boat both haven't had the best tournament season in 2020, to be honest. Boat has never shown too much aptitude for 1v1 ever since PL3 when he started playing the tier, and he doesn't have too many impressive wins. ACII has never participated in a PL and hasn't done very well in WC. I'm gonna give it to him simply based off the fact he is an amazing builder when he tries and that he might be able to rely on Close's help this time around.
ORAS Bo5: Scraftionite vs. OM [2-3 in ORAS in PL into 1-2 in WC] OM comes back strong, off of "extremely impressive" wins such as 2020 Togli, avarice and The Immortal. I have no idea how this man went for 10k but I certainly do not believe he can hold up. I didn't actually expect Scraft to play but as long as he clicks "Accept" and brings 3 mons on his team in all his games, it's very difficult for him to lose.
BW Bo5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs. Quantum Tesseract no comment.
DPP Bo5: Synonimous vs. Euphonos at last, quite the close match. I'm giving it to Synon simply cause he has more experience and he seems quite more involved with the tier. I've built with Euphonos before and while he is pretty good, he still somewhat struggles.

SS Monopoke Bo5: lvl100Blaziken vs. Krytocon the past never lies, players with "lvl100" in their name are infinitely goatered at Monopoke (magicarpe_lvl100)

SS Bo5: Tom842 vs. crucify cruc considers himself washed, while Tom has never been particularly convincing to me. Never went much better than even and hasn't played SS in a long time.
SS Bo5: Rellia vs. parr0t the underdog parr0t makes his showing and is up against a somewhat tough MU in rellia. Rellia is kept at a considerably high standard despite the fact he has no results aside from "doing decent in ursalt". I guess it's fair, but it's still far from proven. Still, parr0t doesn't really come near the amount of metagame knowledge and teambuilding support rellia has.
SM Bo5: UBERLandon21 vs. Squirtell 1v1 extremely good Landon pick for the Regalias, although I'm pretty sure it was accidental, lmao. Landon revealed to me pre draft that he was gonna be active this PL since he had nothing going on, which is why he was a vital part of my draft plan, but things went slightly different. I think he's gonna be extremely menacing this time around and I'm actually giving this to him over Squirtell off gut alone.
SM Bo5: frostyicelad vs. lmni 1v1 my dear lmni, part of my plan and stolen from me... She's pretty good, but her teams are quite old and she doesn't build much. I v much so doubt Squirtell is gonna be prepping anything for her as well, so she will have to rely on Maki on that end (player that also got all his results by being fed kek). Ofc I'm still giving it to her, her oppo is frostyicelad lmao.
ORAS Bo5: bea vs. LRXC I'm gonna put bias aside, and I'm sorry to say bea, but your results don't really justify your presence as an ORAS starter. LRXC has the upper hand here by a mile, especially given that bea got most of her way through by using dom teams, and as soon as she started building her own she got owned. I really hope I'm wrong tho...
BW Bo5: Rosa vs. Maki I was so sure Rosa was gonna slot herself in BW this time around. Her mindset is that "she can cover any slot her team needs". Well, yes, but as shown in the past, only mediocrily so. I'd give this to whichever side had the best BW support, but we find ourselves once again in a pickle, cause the support is the same on both sides: non-existent. I've seen Maki play BW firsthand with my teams last year, though, and I've also seen Rosa play BW in some unofficials, and based on that, I can say I'm slightly more impressed by Maki. I still think this is insanely close (but for the wrong reasons).
DPP Bo5: Inkreativ vs. SoulWind predicting SW here because he's an absolute threat if he tries (which I heard he would) and he has support from the teambuilding demon that is LRXC. Absolute steal from crucify if they can keep up with building. I think this is the only MU I would ever feasibly bold someone over Ink.

SS Monopoke Bo5: TBD vs. D2TheW dude I heard this TBD guy is pretty good. He's playing for my team, too. Goat


eblurb vs STABLE blurb slander aside, I've been wanting to play against him for a while now, it seems like it's gonna be fun. You can say all you want about him being passed teams but he was alone for both kyubless and oras swiss, and he made finals. Can't really argue with results
