HeartGold is easier in so many ways. Platinum/DP require a lot of preparation and you can get lost as you advance your frames. HG/SS pretty much allow for checking your current frame while advancing it, so it's much easier.

What's your typical range for delay? Like, are you getting at least a consistent wrong delay (like always 609 or something)? If you are getting the same wrong delay, put that into Pikatimer's "Other Delay" box and it will adjust the timer accordingly. Also, I have never RNG'd on a ROM so I don't know what typical delays are for that. Do you not have the cartridge at all?

I first need to know what you know. What are you trying to catch/hatch? What version are you playing? Have you read the all generation prng thread and know about hitting a delay?
