Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Use umbreon with baton pass. I've posted on this so many times. I personally think Umbreon is a mid tier or top tier wall because of baton pass which lets it maintain offensive presence. It eases prediction like hell.
Forgo protect, or don't. The standard set is also good.
IMO, Clefable is far from S. I'm thinking it's more of an A/A- pokemon right now, since it's worse in the current post-aegi meta. It's a great mon, but it's simply just not bulky enough to be great.
Let's list the biggest threats in the tier:
Keldeo:
Beats clefable no matter what spread is...
Yeah the best it can do is U-turn out, which IMO, is good enough for a threat that is otherwise... completely unwallable? Cross is slow, so switch ins are relatively easy after a u-turn.
Disaster averted, and momentum gained, whie lando stays relatively healthy enough to do it one more time...
It's time for Lando-T to move to A+. The 252hp/252def+ set is nearly a must, and you see it spammed on the upper ladder. This is out of necessity almost, since the ladder has become fairly shitty post-aegi.
Impish Lando-T checks/counters: cross, mawile, terrakion, breloom, dragonite, chomp...
The way I see it, at this point the meta is dominated by 2 overpowered circles:
the mega wall fuckers: mawile, char x, char y, cross, cham, gard, pinsir. If I don't get at least 2 kills a game using one of these, I'll be pissed.
^seriously these things are all obscenely "broken" under gen4-5...
That's the entire point my friend. Baton pass, by and large, eliminates the need for prediction.
I would agree chansey is a better wish passer. But one of vap's sets that I believe is most effective is not dedicated wishpasser, but BP pivot. Chansey would fit better on a stall team, while...
Lol this is utter bull shit.
Vaporeon has wish, heal bell, scald immunity, baton pass. Suicune, Rotom-W, Slowbro, and Quagsire have none of that.
Not to mention, baton pass is still VERY GOOD in the meta right now, especially on umbreon/vaporeon/sylveon. It gives great momentum ability...
Will always vouch for Torn-T, as I did like 6 months ago. AV is ridiculous and will quickly make a well made stall team into a testrun team that forgot to put items on all its pokemon.
Also, super power > focus blast pls. Run mixed I'm not kidding, even at the expense of -Def stats. AV is...
Zygarde. Can we discuss this beast?
Notable moves (attacking): earth quake, stone edge, extreme speed, dragon claw
Notable moves (support): substitute, coil, dragon dance, glare
Zygarde is pretty bulky and with substitute can be a set up late game sweeper with e-speed/eq/sub/coil, or an...
1. Good pokemon are versatile. See: gengar, rotom-W, scizor, charizard, landorus, thundurus, lucario. Aegislash is one of a big handful of good pokemon. Versatile pokemon tend to have "no hard counters" because they have different sets for a reason.
2. If everything had a hard counter...
Agree with your points, but I'm definitely arguing for A+ for gengar. Post got buried at the bottom of last page, reiterating the relevant parts:
This generation gengar is actually much more unpredictable, versatile, and stronger.
-LO shadow balls can be spammed very easily thanks to its...
IMO, it's time for Gengar to move to A+ rank.
Last generation was kind of boring for gengar. It was good, as it always was, but only really ran one set: sub + painsplit/disable + Shadow Ball/Focus Shit (sub+3 attacks also existed, using either giga drain/tbolt). This was mostly due to how...
Who cares about lesser recoil/slightly higher speed when you can switch in easier? Staraptor is never able to switch in, and relies on prediction or double switches. Floette is also not afraid of burn. I think it will be better than staraptor, and be someting like B+ tier.
