:zamazenta: Pros :zamazenta:
+ Strong Attack stat of 120
+ Excellent Speed of 138, second highest in OU, outspeeds 120s with just a neutral nature
+ Great all-round bulk and a resistance to Stealth Rock
+ No like for real it has 660 BST, its numbers are really, really good

:zacian: Cons :zacian:
- Mono-Fighting type isn't great defensively, needs to rely on its stats a lot of the time
- No recovery outside of Rest and Lefties
- No boosting moves outside of Howl and Iron Defense
- Lackluster coverage moves with the likes of Ice Fang and Wild Charge

Terastallization Potential

1685420279452.png
- Gives that CC a bit of extra oomph should you need it
1685420285038.png
- Grants an immunity to burn and flips the Fairy weakness to a resistance
1685420290783.png
- Turns each of Fighting's weakness into a resistance while only making Dark become neutral
1685420297223.png
1685420301270.png
- All-round good defensive options

Potential Sets

IronPress

Zamazenta @ Leftovers
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting / Water / Steel
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Def / 88 Spe
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Crunch
- Substitute / Rest

Hey, it's the set everyone wanted last gen. This set uses the free +1 boost from Zamazenta's ability to give Body Press an immediate boost and a total of 542 Defense on the first switch in. Crunch is used to hit any Ghosts that would otherwise ignore this set and the final choice of moveslot are for your pick of a defensive option. 88 Speed EVs outspeeds max investment Garchomp and all the 100s.

Choice Band
Zamazenta @ Choice Band
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Wild Charge / Iron Head / Stone Edge
- Ice Fang / Psychic Fangs / Play Rough

It's a choice band set, click your buttons and do damage. With a Jolly nature, Zamazenta hits 412 speed which is able to outrun Adamant Baxcalibur after one DD and every positive nature pokemon in OU other than Dragapult. Also, with Crunch being a 15/16 OHKO and the return of Chien-Pao, the carefree days of Adamant and Modest Pult outspeeding everything in the tier are now unfortunately over.

Howlin' Wolf
Zamazenta @ Life Orb / Leftovers / Black Belt
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting / Steel / Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge / Iron Head / Stone Edge
- Ice Fang / Crunch / Play Rough
- Howl

Oh hey, it's that move that Houndour learns at level 4 but instead being used by a box art legendary because it's literally the best boosting move it has access to. Either way, there are some options for the other two moves with BoltBeam but bad, some combination of Crunch and either Play Rough or Psychic Fangs and something else I'm probably missing.

:zamazenta: Brief Comparison to Zamazenta-Crowned :zamazenta crowned:

Pros:

+ Access to an item slot
+ Higher base speed (138 > 128), notably leapfrogging Chien-Pao & Meowscarada

Cons:
- Crowned has Steel which provides a way better defensive typing and extra STAB
- Crowned gains +25 to both Def and SpD

Overall:
So basically, Hero is faster and is able to hit harder with access to Choice Band and Life Orb while also being able to access the best form of recovery Zamazenta has access to - Leftovers. On the other hand, Crowned has a significantly better defensive profile and is not too far behind in offensive power considering the second STAB, huge Heavy Slam, and superior Body Press.

---

btw Body Press is affected by Choice Band and Burn

For IronPress Zama-C seems like it would be way better then Hero due to its much high defenses, which lets it set up easier and is stronger

Hero seems better as a revenge killer though, due to its superior speed making it the 3rd fastest mon in the tier (only behind Pult and Eleki). If the latter gets banned, it could arguably be the premier revenge killer in the tier, because its really strong and isn’t frail like other revenge killers like Chein-Pao

Yeah hero is definitely the better revenge killer, but it is definitely way more flawed and less broken than crowned in my experiences from using both.

Hero could potentially be balanced though, I hope it isn't quickbanned.

Yeah from what I’ve seen people most people are either saying that one or the other is broken, but Crowned is way more broken (mainly due to how bulky it is, especially with IronPress sets that most people run with Zama-C)

Is this one of those rare cases where an offensive mon gets suspect tested and doesn’t get banned? Or does Zama event count as an offensive mon.

Tbh most likely banned. But in Natdex, though not the same as ou but is still an example, didn't ban zama during a sus test and it was fine after that :worrywhirl:

EDIT: Grammar fixing
