UU Simple Questions Thread

Is it a viable option to replace my Entei's Choice Band with a Flame Plate or an Assault Vest to lure other Pokemon such as Cobalion and Chandelure thinking that I'm locked in a resisted move such as Extreme Speed?

What do you guys think of my UU team?

Try posting your team in the RMT, or Rate My Team, subforum (http://www.smogon.com/forums/forums/oras-other-teams.292/). Just remember to follow the required guidelines while posting your RMT, and I'm sure you'll find a couple of people who'll be willing to offer you advice on how you can possibly make the team better!

You can also try asking for a rate in the RMT channel on PS!, if that's easier for you. Good luck!
Thank you!

What's a good Venusaur set? I know there's it's Chlorophyll set but now Amoonguss ans Tangrowth are gone I feel like it can do more than that.

Venusaur is just not good as a defensive Pokémon. If you wanna use a bulky Grass-type, try Utility Celebi or Chesnaught, these Pokémon are better options overall.
Thanks! Also, is there a Mega Aboma set with Leech Seed??

What pairs well with mega absol on an offensive team?
If you're using a Swords Dance variant then I'd consider strong wallbreakers to remove or weaken its best checks in physical walls so Pokemon such as Choice Specs Sylveon or Choice Band Entei should be taken into consideration.

I have a few ideas for threads and uu tournaments. Is there a certain process I need to go through in order to get them approved? What is my next move?

Is there any viable core that includes moltres? I'm interested in building a team around him, if it can be used.
Moltres tends to thrive when there are no Stealth Rock on the field but most hazard removers don't benefit from the wallbreaking capacity the Pokemon provides so in terms of purely cores I'd probably use Pokemon that could capitalize on its few counters (i.e Blissey, Ampharos-Mega) so I'd look at something along the lines of mixed Hydreigon or Choice Band Conkeldurr among other strong wallbreakers to form strong wallbreaking cores for the rest of the team (preferably sweepers) to clean up later on. Be sure to have hazard removal when using Moltres though.

Ok. I like the conkeldurr moltres idea, thinking about fitting a tenta or blastoise for hazard removal

took 5 minutes to build you something half-decent. You can easily shuffle around some slots (like tenta instead of forry, rocks instead of RD/Ice Punch on pert, etc.) There can be many variations to this team so I'd actually recommend using this team as a sort of template and continue to develop your own style.

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 116 HP / 216 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Rain Dance

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Taunt
- Roost

Moltres @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 204 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Toxic

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Volt Switch

Conkeldurr @ Choice Band
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Hammer Arm
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Protect

you can easily utilize offensive Moltres too, again, there can be many variations to this team as the mons are quite diverse and the cores quite eclectic.

Other interesting combinations can include Moltres/Krook/Tenta/Cobalion/Kyurem/Sylveon or Moltres/Hydreigon/Empoleon/Cresselia/Conk/Gligar. Moltres isn't the best mon, but its unique typing lets it fit nicely on balance and BO teams. What I listed above is just the vanilla teambuilding for Moltres.

I've been using NP infernape a ton and I'm wondering if anybody has a cool partner for it to battle up with.

Pursuit Mega Aero, Pursuit Krook, Pursuit Mega Beedrill - in general Pursuit support or a strong Dark-type would be great to trap / beat Chandelure and beat Psychics.

for the incoming s/m metagame, will all the suspect tests or NP be done via council votes only or by suspect ladder as well?

I'd imagine that the majority of the votes will be conducted through future suspect ladders, and that council voting would only be reserved for particularly sensitive suspects. Every competent player from the general playerbase definitely deserves to have a say in these type of decisions.

That's just based on what I've seen throughout the majority of generations 5 and 6, but these policies aren't immune to change and its really up to the current UU council in the end.

Odds are(and I think I remember hearing something along these lines before), the start of Gen7 UU would generally do suspect testing through the council. The early meta will have a large amount of things that would need to be cleaned out (see: Keldeo/Latis/etc in early XY), and council voting clears it up much faster than a 2-3 week suspect length for each thing. Once the tier settles down, they'd probably switch back to suspect testing.

Besides, UU won't even exists for some months after release, needing OU to establish a decent usage flow first.
