Welcome to my Pet Mod: Universal! Universal is a personal Pet Mod, where Pokemon as a whole is changed. Pokemon may be buffed, nerfed or stay about the same. Moves may get different distribution or a different effect. Everything is up for change!

Although the main purpose of this Pet Mod is making a metagame which is enjoyable for me, and hopefully other players, the ideals I strive towards are mostly to undo the power creep which has happened for the past few generations, and make things a bit more balanced again, and thus less match up based as threats will be less extreme. Additionally, I'll try to make things make sense, as otherwise it just gets too confusing. But overall, I just try to make if fun, and will try to listen to what others say they found fun and lesser changes. Additionally, another thing that I've done, even though its not an ideal, is buffing all legends to Ubers and all non-legends to OU or lower. Because of that, this will also consist of two main metagames: OU and Ubers, with a distinct power level difference separating them.

Playable on Aqua.

OU
OU is currently a Work in Progress. Not all changes have been made that will be made. Strong threats in the current OU will be nerfed, while various changes will be made to other Pokemon to give them a better or more unique place in the metagame, whether it is to give a certain playstyle more options, or to create a whole new niche. I'll not buff all Pokemon, or make them all OU-worthy as that's nearly impossible. I'd rather continue with an "UU" version when this is done. I'm not sure if I'll keep the new megas yet.

Ubers
All legends are in the Ubers tier now. This means that Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Mew, Mewtwo, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Latios, Latias, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Deoxys-Attack, Deoxys-Defense, Deoxys-Speed, Mesprit, Azelf, Uxie, Heatran, Regigigas, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Giratina-Origin, Cresselia, Darkrai, Phione, Manaphy, Shaymin, Shaymin-Sky, Arceus (All Forms), Victini, Virizion, Cobalion, Terrakion, Keldeo, Tornadus, Tornadus-T, Thundurus, Thundurus-T, Landorus, Landorus-T, Zekrom, Reshiram, Kyurem, Kyurem-Black, Kyurem-White, Meloetta, Meloetta-Pirouette, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa and Hoopa Unbound form the banlist from OU.

All legends that have 580 or 600 BST now get a buff towards 680 BST. This excludes Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Shaymin and Jirachi, which get 660 BST. They get a huge movepool buff as they all get the Mew-treatment. They all get access to all Tutor and TM moves. Additionally, all legendaries get a primal form, which is activated by the Rainbow Orb. This excludes Giratina-Origin, forms of Genesect and fomes of Arceus as they need an item to exist. Because of this, the forms have been modified to function as a primal.

As of now, Ubers is "finished". Although changes may happen to balance the Pokemon, there will be no or few major changes. It's playable on the Aqua server.

Notice that I've coded it in such a way, that the Slow Start from before the Primal Revolution still affects it, even after it switches in. So for the first five turns its normal Regigigas with lowered speed.

Oh that's cool.

Btw why does Mega Goodra have Sticky Hold? You can't Knock Off/Trick Mega Stones.

Honestly, I felt like trolling it a bit with a useless ability. Also since legends are banned from OU, they have the highest BSTs in the tier, so I tried to make them not too OP.

Talking about OP, I'm watching Mega Weavile and Mega Hydreigon right now. I'm also considering disallowing mons to get moves from previous gens, since the movepools are kind of bloated right now.

I'd at least give it something with very marginal usefulness (Inner Focus Mega Gallade courtesy of Game Freak). "Damp" might be a cool choice -- gives a switch-in to new Boomburst users as well as Explosion leads while being completely useless in all other scenarios. Fits with the theme too. I mean, the new Mega Salamence has a similar stat-line and still gets priority Roost from its ability.

Two things that i am curious about snaq. Number 1: Is the scarf issue fixed. Number 2: Yanmega gets Dragon Pulse in Universal, and it doesnt normally. Just something for you to put in the changelog.

I may give it a better ability if it turns out to be needed, but I want it to be tested first.

Updated. I don't know if the Choice Scarf issue is fixed. Issues with other items were fixed so it should be, although OU has been glitching.

Can you make normal Poison halve Special Attack to give it a niche?

Also, Hail and Ice types are good now! Yay! And I will be playing with Phione so much now. Primal Phione looks fucking amazing.
Normal Poison has a niche in Toxic Spikes since normal Poison will generally be better against offense and is easier to set up, in addition to being relatively easy to inflict through moves like Sludge Bomb and Poison Jab. Although its a worse burn, giving it the Special Drop would definitely break Toxic Spikes, so I am not sure if that's a good idea.

Primal Phione is fun yeah, it requires the opponent to play in a more careful way, since Phione will probably counter at least a few Pokemon (for offensive team, it's a great pivot into things, especially Mega Rayquaza), and although its really weak to things like Zapdos, it provides a lot of pressure, even if it has a limited movepool (It's like RestTalk, Ice Beam, Scald, U-turn, Knock Off). Hail is also better yeah, especially Articuno is an amazing wall now with the new resistances and the huge bulk. (When uninvested, it equals uninvested 110/249/205 bulk!), just make sure to be able to keep Stealth Rock away, since it will take away its ability to check things like Xerneas and stall out 80% of the tier.

Are you considering to introduce more fanmade Megas?
Possibly. I've done the current ones since I was requested to do the pseudo legends, and those kind of make sense. Butterfree has one as Beedrill has one and I just wanted to do Weavile. However, I'm a bit stuck since I am not sure if I want to continue, since fanmade megas may be confusing.

You could add just some Megas that we really want (like Flygon and Milotic) and/or give a mega to the counteparts of Pokemon that already have it (like Slowking or Froslass).

Love what you did to the legendaries. Now they can stand on equal ground and all be "legendary" in their own right.

Mega Dragonite looks really dangerous in Rain. Thank goodness that it doesn't have STAB Hurricane or Thunder. It looks fun to use.

The faster, stronger Flygon will be a nice offensive Defogger as an alternative to Latios. It should be able to stand out from its competition now :)

Mega Alt finally has a reason to use Moonblast now lol. Dragon Dance sets are greatly nerfed, but can still function with Dragon STAB over Pixilate Return and use the defensive typing to their advantage.

I like the Heliolisk change. That tiny bump in speed does a ton for it in OU.

Space Manipulation: Signature Ability of Palkia. Lowers Special Defense by one upon switching in.
Time Manipulation: Signature Ability of Dialga. Lowers Speed by one upon switching in.
Does Time/Space Manipulation lower opponent's or user's Special Defense and Speed on switch-in?

Sorry, just doesn't make sense to me xD

Wow, it seems ExtremeKiller Arceus and GeoXern just got a lot more threatening in this metagame with those new stat spreads, not to mention Xerneas' ability actually grants it a free Healing Wish upon fainting which is simply incredible!
The new Mega Rayquaza looks extremely scary as well with higher defenses and speed, and most importantly STAB Aerilate Extreme Speed to abuse. The Aerilate boost kind of makes up for the loss of Life Orb, while the lack of Delta Stream isn't too bad since it now hits even more targets for neutral damage!

I just hope the other Uber Pokemon will be able to keep those top threats in check, though glancing over the list it seems that the overall power level in the tier is indeed quite a lot higher than in the current Ubers metagame.
With the wide range of offensive threats to prepare for, I just can't see balanced teams doing very well here, which is unfortunate for a tier that aims to increase diversity. :(

I like this Pet Mod so far, keep it up.
Mega Butterfree is scary, if it gets an opportunity to set up a Quiver Dance it tears holes into everything.

I'm sorry, this isn't playable on Aqua for a while, since it appeared to be causing bugs. I don't know how long it will last, but I'll try to fix it as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I made some changes prior to removing it temporarily, so you can discuss those!

Pokemon:
  • Lilligant gets No Guard
  • Throh gets Contrary
Moves:
  • Charm is now a Special 60 BP Fairy-type move with the same effect.
  • Mega Drain is now 120 BP and 50% Accuracy.
  • Quick Guard now lasts for 10 turns, 16 with Light Clay.
  • Ominous Wind, Silver Wind and AncientPower boost a random stat by 1.
  • Present is now a Fairy-type move and additionally restores 50% of the users health.
  • Confusion is now a 40 BP multihit move that can hit 2 or 3 times.
  • Lucky Chant now lasts the entire match.
  • Ion Deluge now lasts 10 turns, 16 with Light Clay.
  • Refresh now restores your PP as well.
  • Fairy Lock traps the target and the user until either faints.
Items:
  • Ring Target allows you to ignore the opponent's type-based immunities.
  • The Plates give an immunity to their type instead.

Sorry for double post.

While I am working on implementing this again, I thought of something fun. Each Pokemon / line (preferably line, but if its a special 'mon it can get a specific one) gets an internal ability. This will be a new ability in most cases that will always affect it. Same may happen with 1 move sometime. You can suggest abilities for certain Pokemon.

  • You may suggest an internal ability for any Pokemon you like for now, may add slates later.
  • Starters are the only ones which replace a normal ability. You may suggest the new ability for them instead.
  • Megas get a specific internal ability from their line.
  • Pokemon with Levitate get it moved to their Internal Ability. They can get a new ability.

Leaf Guard / X / Chlorophyll
Internal Ability: Overgrow

Drought / X / Solar Power
Internal Ability: Blaze

Shell Armor / X / Rain Dish
Internal Ability: Torrent

Repeat for other starters

I'm just thinking about the Rotom Formes. Wouldn't each forme get a different intrinsic ability? for example

Rotom O: Levitate + Cursed Body
Rotom W: Levitate + Water Veil
Rotom H: Levitate + Flame Body
Rotom F: Levitate + Ice Body
Rotom C: Levitate + Hyper Cutter

I cant think of something that would go with Rotom Spin, but just please don't give it levitate... Dx
