Good day, everyone! The eighth episode of the team building proper has recently concluded, featuring challenger Smallsmallrose and one of the featured Guest Iron Chefs, YABO. Whose cuisine reigns supreme? Here are the results of the recently concluded episode!

EPISODE 8
Secret Ingredient: On the Wings of Love
All teams must feature at least one Pokemon with a single pair of wings and at least one Pokemon with multiple pairs of wings.

vs.
008-cr.png
The team on the left uses Vivillon and Silvally as the biggest selling points that warrant a considerably higher score than the other team. Not to mention with Umbreon being a rare sight nowadays, Gliscor with Defog and Cobalion with Volt Switch being uncommon, too. While the other team has mostly standard Pokemon in the team, Ribombee is easily the most underused Pokemon in the team, and Rock Polish + Power-Up Punch Mega Aggron is also a fresh take on an offensive team.

008-es.png
The team on the right makes use of the key ingredients sufficiently enough to warrant a better score than the other team due to its straightforward game plan. The team on the left, on the other hand, could use Venomoth over Vivillon due to marginally better bulk, a typing not letting it weak to Ice attacks, and has a better trait in Tinted Lens that most Pokemon would struggle dealing with when it comes to boosted Bug Buzzes.

008-ef.png
Reflective to the Essence criterion, the team on the left leaves a lot to be desired -- regardless of the suggestions, Fire attacks would be a huge nuisance for the team, especially the likes of Entei, Darmanitan, and most notably Infernape; Silvally has to rely on Wish from Umbreon to recover all the health lost from most Fire attacks. Also, there aren't any adequate answers to Scarf Hydreigon to a point that Cobalion gets severely overwhelmed in the long run (Dark Pulses and Draco Meteors would take some chunk of damage before it could do a thing), and Umbreon lacks Toxic to take care of Hydreigon. The team on the right is the better team in terms of this criterion due to the aforementioned straightforward game plan, though it has to tread carefully against Scarf Latias, who is immune to Sticky Web, and still outruns Mega Aggron with one round of Rock Polish (especially that the damage dealt to Mega Aggron becomes more due to the lack of defensive investment). Infernape and Mienshao, among other Fighting type Pokemon, could pose a threat as well despite this team could show some form of counterplay against it.

Therefore, the winner of this episode -- by way of edging out in the Effectiveness Criterion -- is no other than...

Iron Chef YABO!

Good day, everyone! The ninth episode of the team building proper has recently concluded, featuring challenger Ov3r Ac3 and Iron Chef esche. Whose cuisine reigns supreme? Here are the results of the recently concluded episode!

EPISODE 9
Secret Ingredient: The Last Jedi
All teams must feature at least two UU Pokemon who were UU by the generation they were introduced. Generation VII Pokemon do not count.
(Qualified Pokemon: Cobalion / Darmanitan / Klefki / Krookodile / Mienshao / Sylveon)

vs.
009-cr.png
The one on the right uses Necrozma as a selling point to warrant that team a considerably higher point in Creativity, on top of Substitute Amoonguss, and Calm Mind Cobalion. While the team on the left looks standard at first glance, the use of Flame Charge on Mega Houndoom, Calm Mind on Cobalion with Electrium Z for Volt Switch, and Choice Band on Krookodile warrant a rather average score in this criterion.

009-es.png
While both teams use the same qualified Pokemon nicely, they actually meet the bare minimum; if they were to use other Pokemon such as Doublade, Sharpedo, and Venomoth, among other Pokemon not included in the list, they're in for a treat.

009-ef.png
The team on the left is the better team in terms of effectiveness because of the straightforward game plan the team offers despite sharing massive weaknesses in Fighting and Ground attacks. If we were to change something in your team, it would be Energy Ball over Fire Blast on Azelf as the team doesn't have an outright answer to Swampert, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon. As for the team on the right, the lack of hazard control really is bothering, so additional thought could have been used there; Mega Aerodactyl could have taken advantage of Wing Attack in the last slot over Roost to double as a win condition alongside Calm Mind Cobalion.

Therefore, the winner of this episode -- only leading by 0.5 total points, is no other than...

Challenger Ov3r Ac3!

Congratulations, Ov3r Ac3, for winning the ninth episode of UU Iron Chef Live, the third challenger who is able to defeat an Iron Chef! Your team will be etched in the Hall of Fame!

ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE CHAIRMAN!

Since the Suspect Test ladder is up, the Chairman didn't manage to put these teams into the test; therefore, with great joy, Kink stepped up to help the Chairman test the teams which is integral for our sound deliberation.

The tenth team building session will take place on January 29, 12:30 AM GMT -4 at the Iron Chef UU Discord Channel. Catch you all later!

Good day, everyone! Last January 29, 12:30 AM GMT -4, the tenth episode of UU Iron Chef Live has concluded, featuring challenger DurzaOffTopic and Guest Iron Chef xMarth. Whose cuisine reigns supreme? Here are the results of the recently concluded episode!

EPISODE 10
Secret Ingredient: Reversal of Fortune
All teams must feature at least two UU Pokemon whose abilities have a chance of inflicting status after taking damage from contact moves.
(Qualified Abilities: Effect Spore / Flame Body / Poison Point / Static)

vs.
010-cr.png
Both teams contain Moltres and Vileplume -- truly underrated picks which are also essential to the theme. What edges the team on the left apart is the use of Stealth Rock and Nasty Plot Celebi along with Choice Band Terrakion, both severely underutilized options, while the team on the right has more common picks with Mega Blastoise being the underutilized pick.

010-es.png
Both teams contain Moltres and Vileplume which definitely are a staple for the theme; however, if they manage to pull off a different option despite the scarce distribution of these abilities, it would have been a great treat for this criterion.

010-ef.png
The goal for the secret ingredient is to render U-turn users useless for the rest of their lives unless they have a cleric; in this case, an ideal team for this episode must at least have a way of dealing with Volt Switch users as well. Sadly, the team on the left doesn't have a Pokemon that would absorb an Electric attack which gives Mega Manectric, among all other Electric Pokemon, a huge pain for that team to handle. The team on the right could have handed a better score for some of the issues: additional thoughts could have been used in dealing with Mamoswine very well, and Agility Moltres could have used a Modest Nature to maximize its damage output.

Therefore, the winner of this episode -- only leading by 0.5 total points, is no other than...

Guest Iron Chef xMarth!

Congratulations, Iron Chef xMarth, for winning the tenth episode of UU Iron Chef Live, and it was a pleasure joining with us at this time. Your team will be etched in the Hall of Fame!

ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE CHAIRMAN!

Since the Suspect Test ladder was up during the team building session, the Chairman didn't manage to put these teams into the test; with that, the Chairman would like to thank former Iron Chef Christo for helping out in testing those teams.

Two episodes remaining, and UU Iron Chef Live is about to draw to a close! We will finally resume our eleventh episode on February 8, 7:00 PM GMT -4 at the Iron Chef UU Discord Channel. Catch you all later!

Good day, everyone! Last February 8, 7:00 PM GMT -4, the eleventh episode of UU Iron Chef Live has concluded, featuring challenger Luthier and Iron Chef esche. Whose cuisine reigns supreme? Here are the results of the recently concluded episode!

EPISODE 11
Secret Ingredient: Animagus
All teams must feature at least two Pokemon from the Amorphous egg group.

vs.
011-cr.png
Two teams feature only one severely underutilized Pokemon -- one on in the form of Cofagrigus, and the other one in the form of Rotom-Mow. However, what edges the team with Rotom-Mow apart is the use of Specially Offensive Cobalion (with Toxic) and a rather unorthodox Substitute Mega Aerodactyl set (not to mention Psychium Z Rotom-Mow), as compared to the team with Calm Mind Sylveon and Swords Dance Mega Sceptile which are somehow trending in this current metagame.

011-es.png
The team on the right made use of the amorphous Pokemon very well in order for Azumarill to pull off a sweep. The team on the left, on the other hand, is somehow forced to run Cofagrigus as a decent check to Scizor (and a shaky check to Azumarill), but nothing much else in other aspects.

011-ef.png
While playing against Spike-stacking teams would somehow be an issue, the team on the right is the better team for this episode, and one of the best teams, if not the best team, ever produced in this project, simply because of the straightforward game plan this team has to offer. The team on the left leaves a lot to be desired, notably the following: the lack of Hazard Control that Empoleon could have taken advantage of, massive Ground weaknesses that would end up being weak to Mamoswine, and the general lack of cohesion for the defensive backbone.

Therefore, the winner of this episode by a landslide -- leading by a whopping 6 total points -- is no other than...

Iron Chef esche!

Congratulations, Iron Chef Esche, for winning the eleventh episode of UU Iron Chef Live! Your team will be posted in the Hall of Fame!

. . . . . . .

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CHAIRMAN!
The twelfth team building session will take place on February 10, 11:00 PM GMT -4 at the Iron Chef UU Discord Channel. However, with the Chairman having to take a rest from hosting eleven stellar episodes of UU Iron Chef Live, vivalospride, a fellow judge, will take the reins as the interim Chairman for that episode. Good day, everyone! Last February 10, 11:00 PM GMT -4, the last episode of UU Iron Chef Live concluded, featuring challenger ara and Iron Chef/Chairman Euphonos . Whose cuisine reigns supreme? Here are the results of the recently concluded episode

EPISODE 12
Secret Ingredient: Basket Case
All teams must feature at least two pokemon from the "Pokemon consisting of multiple bodies" body style.

VS.

012-cr.png

While both dishes are interesting, one team has the edge over the other with great use of underutilized Pokemon such as Articuno, Barbaracle, etc. And while most people use the traditional Aurorus + Alolan Sandslash Veil, the team on the right utilizes Articuno with Hail and Snow Cloak as a means of getting Aurora Veil up.

The team on the left uses picks like Metagross and Magneton for the secret ingredient, yet fails to use them in a way to compliment each other or the rest of the team. While the team on the right uses Barbaracle as a sweeper under Veil, and Metagross to lure Swampert and set Rocks for the team.

The team on the left has things like Muk and Metagross to support the pokemon that greatly appreciate pokemon such as Latias being gone (Breloom, Volcanion, Gliscor). However, this does not stop the team from lacking structure, adding a Mega Altaria or something would have been great to synergize with Magneton, and also would have improved this dish's essence and effectiveness greatly. As for the team on the right, the weakness that the main sweeper has to Empoleon, one of the common defoggers in the tier is alarming, especially since Veil teams are scared of Defog. On top of this, Articuno Hail + Veil might work a lot of the time, it ultimately relies on the use of Snow Cloak to reliably get Veil up a lot of the time, and therefore could be unreliable.

Therefore, the winner of this episode by a landslide -- leading by a whopping 7.5 total points -- is no other than...

Iron Chef and Chairman Euphonos

Congratulations, Iron Chef and Chairman Euphonos, for winning the twelth episode of Iron Chef Live! Your team will be posted in the Hall of Fame!

This marks the official conclusion of UU Iron Chef Live. I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support you gave me, which makes me want to run another season of UU Iron Chef soon.

First of all, I would like to thank the Live Participants for spending insurmountable amounts of time waiting for their turn and for squeezing some amount of time to build some dishes valiantly made: Xiri, Wascally Wabbit, Accelgor, Amane Misa, Darksafadao, Sage of the 6, naruto(sage), Smallsmallrose, Ov3r Ac3, DurzaOffTopic, Luthier, and ara.

Next, I would like to thank the Iron Chefs for being committed enough to stay on course, most especially esche, CBU, and CoolStoryBrobat. I would also like to give thanks to the retired Iron Chef pokeisfun for staying quite some time in this team building project, and to the guest Iron Chefs YABO and xMarth for answering to the Chairman's call.

Finally, without the help of the Panel of Judges, this project would have been a rougher ride; good thing Sun and the Episode 12 Interim Chairman vivalospride has given some solid rates from the beginning and as early as possible, which is definitely of great help to me. Keep up the good work!

Another special mention to Kink and former Iron Chef Christo for helping me test some of the UU Iron Chef Live teams while the ladder is under the Breloom/Buzzwole Suspect Test; it was very helpful for the judges to see the biggest flaws of the teams in question. Speaking of ladder, the alt Acxiom has garnered a 24-8 W/L record using all UU Iron Chef Live teams! Talk about the quality of the teams produced by our Live Participants and Iron Chefs!

As for the next season of UU Iron Chef, there will be something cooking up soon, most likely within the month of March, after I have accomplished my duties as a choral composer/arranger. With that, I have already selected some people who will take the reins either as the Iron Chef or as the Panel of Judges, all to be revealed during that time; and as for the Iron Chef UU Discord Channel, everyone who have joined there may feel free to give some ideas to the Chairman at the #kitchencoliseum, hoping to give those ideas some consideration for the better of the mechanics for the next season.

Here's to the long-lasting success of UU Iron Chef, to future generations and beyond!
