I was curious, why are you maximum speed on hawlucha? A bit of bulk seems like it'd be really useful for setting up a Swords Dance reliably, and the vast majority of Hawlucha only run 124-152 speed EVs. Is it just to ensure you don't lose a speed tie if you go up against an already unburdened Hawlucha?

I know what you are saying but i would like to outspeed volcarona at +2 if it gets to that point.. also outspeeding jolly excadrill in the sand is nice.

hey, why is there a dragon rush charizard x? Also why isnt it dragon dance. I feel like if you are going to set up at all at least use that. Also some weird sets that i dont really understand include scarf rachi without utilizing healing wish. Healing wish is one of the things that make rachi a great scarfer. Furthermore on hawlucha running rock slide > stone edge is optimal because with max attack adamant rock slide can do the same things that stone edge only hitting more reliably. Lastly, why are you running surf on tapu fini? Burning stuff like bulu on the switch is worth the loss of 5 Bp

Adding onto the above post, could you expand a bit on your thought process behind Shuca Berry phys def speedy Magearna? What does Roost Scarf Latios exactly acomplish? Is there any reason as to why one of your Tapu Finis has Surf and the other Scald? How did you come up with Shuca Berry Koko and have you ever found it useful? Why is your Tangrowth IV'd to underspeed opposing Tangrowth?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-656352747 - the tangrowth iv's outspeeding magearna in trick room. Turn 25. Min Speed Magearna reachs 121.. My Iv's make tangrowth 120

shuca phys def magearna is there to get a hit off on zygarde on landorus and put them in range for my lando-t to kill them with hp ice. Also this makes sure it lives a hit from +2 Jolly Lando-t.

+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 184 HP / 148 Def Shuca Berry Magearna: 276-325 (79.5 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Since my own lando-t is not defensive due to fast jolly with Groundium beating more important pokemon like Gastrodon and lead Excadrill. Also knock Off on my Lando-t means that I can get rid of Skarmory and Ferrothorn shed shell if needed in order to trap it with my Magnezone.

Roost Scarf Latios beats AV tangrowth once it gets knocked off and tricks stuff like chansey, celesteela zapdos, tangrowth, etc

I never had a problem with dragon rush lol It easily 2 hit ko's Heatran if needed and hits Quag way harder. Also SD is way better on this team to Wall Break http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-655433149 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-655444497. DD is shit on Charizard X because it can never sweep.. The extra speed does nothing. SD means you hit almost every pokemon below 328 speed and have the ability to KO or 2 hit KO.

Misty Terrain barely comes into affect too. I have not run into that problem yet because if you put Fini in you are most likely trying to handle different pokemon and not char x weak mons. If the terrain gets in my way i will be honest and say it here but for right now it has not been a problem.

+2 252+ Atk Hawlucha Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Zapdos: 306-360 (79.8 - 93.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

+2 252+ Atk Hawlucha Rock Slide vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Zapdos: 230-272 (60 - 71%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

even if max defense zapdos is rare now or something i have no clue about that does not mean rock slide over stone edge is better. Stone edge on this team is only for zapdos because of the team weakness to it. If im gonna only run a certain move for it i would want it to do its job lmao.

Surf over Scald on Fini may seem weird ik but it hits Heatran a little bit harder and has the chance to 2 hit ko non sp.def spreads. If the terrain runs out then it can get toxiced and lose to other pokemon in the future so hitting tran and killing it faster is very important in my eyes.

Scarf roost latios is actually not that uncommon, it has uses being able to come in on mons such as koko, tangrowth, keldeo, zard y, etc easier without worrying of being chipped

sm is coming to a close, I wanted to post some of my teams before it ends. Click the team name to see the importable.

ZardX + Kartana Balance

I stole this from "What's Their Last" W2 and made some changes. ZardX punches holes and Kartanna fights the pesky water types. ttar traps the dumb latis and scares leles from clicking psychic moves. It's got two pivots and a scarfer for your opponent's offensive pressure.

Toxic HO

It looks like webs, but without webs. With dual suicide leads, it is very likely to get sr and 1 tspike up and keep them up for a while. Zygarde has protect and 101hp subs to stall out the toxics and tspikes exca and gren dish out. Thundy and mimiku are to prevent/abuse opponent's hazard removal and pinsir was slapped on for a wall breaker.

Mawile + Gren Balance

Bulu + Heatran Balance

Heatran subbin on that grassy terrain gettin near 25% every turn is amazing. That gay heatran spread is cuz this team is weak to lele. 76def makes your sub live sableye's knock and 128 spdef with a calm nature makes your sub live pex' scald. Zygarde has iron tail for those bulus/clefs.

This team is stupid but it's really fun to play with it.

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Substitute

People bring up spdef heatran and priority as answers to naganadel, so I paired it with specs lele to break heatran down and block priority. Scarf greninja is really, really good right now, capable of revenge killing naganadel and volcarona consistently. Zone is a great lele partner and actually gives me a koko and lele switch-in, which I lacked. Looking weak to ground attacks and wanted to go hyper offensive, so sash lando is used. This set can actually prevent opposing rocks from coming up by utilizing imprison, unlike the SD explosion set (which is cool in its own right). Needed a good mega as well as a heatran switch-in and a second ground immunity/resist, so gyarados is added. This set really screws over sableye teams, as well as forcing revenge killers to take hits and ease a naganadel sweep or greninja clean.

Team is quite effective, shot up to 52th on ladder real quick. Enjoy while you can.

EDIT: peaked even higher lul, so changed peak

Blacephalon is my favorite newly introduced Pokemon and is truly underappreciated (fuck naga). Decided to add Gliscor, one of the most interesting Pokemon that has found access to Defog with its hidden ability Poison Heal, Ice Fang lets it beat Landorus and Zygarde. Added Mega Scizor since it can take advantage of Ttar that might try to Pursuit trap Blace. Added Tapu Lele because of its ability to break Pokemon like Toxapex, it also has good synergy with Blace since Blace beats most Steel-types that wall Tapu Lele, Tapu Lele can also weaken AV Ttar for blace. Keldeo can also take advantage of Ttar that traps Blace, it can also lure in Toxapex for Mega Scizor. Lastly added Heatran because its one of the best checks to Naganadel and gives me access to rocks.

Basically, Aurora Veil has been pretty bad for the past few months due to Toxic Spikes being really hard to deal with and the pace of the metagame being more tailored to bulky offense and balance as opposed to the extremes, so it was not something people frequented at all (it also saw virtually no usage in tournaments). Now that there are a lot of new toys to abuse and the foundations of the metagame are not really set-in-stone, I feel that now is a good a time as ever to take full advantage of playstyles like this in order to make the most of the new Pokemon, see how well things perform, and get a grasp on the new metagame in general.

Getting into the team, it is Aurora Veil and Tyranitar is all over the place, so the Alolan Ninetales being present on the team and set was pretty obvious to me and it was the first member of the team. I knew I wanted to abuse two things primarily here: NP Z-Draco Meteor Naganadel and SG Weakness Policy Magearna. The former was simply the best of all of the new toys and something that I felt would do especially well with the support of Aurroa Veil whereas the latter is something that I have wanted to seriously use on Aurora Veil for a long time and has done exceptionally well under these conditions, putting away teams with ease during the later stages of the game and taking advantage of great movepool and natural bulk. I initially used BoltBeam plus Focus on Magearna, but I switched to HP Fire, Thunderbolt, and Fleur Cannon in order to help me deal with opposing Mega Scizor and give me a bit of a 'nuke' move, in Fleur Cannon, and this change has made the set even more effective than I thought it would have been (s/o sedertz for that idea).

As for the rest of the team, I knew that I wanted to add Landorus-T as the Stealth Rock user because it is too good not to use on non-stall teams, it can use Normal Gem Explosion, which lets it set up for so many things in terms of free-turn opportunities and crippling opposing threats, and it also did a number to things like Tyranitar, which happens to disturb Veil teams due to setting Sand and being hard to switch into for offense. From there, I knew that I needed some Choice Scarf user that could keep the metagame in 'check, and act as a safety net for me. I was not too fond of the faster Scarf options the metagame presented for this team -- Tapu Koko did not fit at all, Greninja could have worked, but did not revenge kill things as consistently well as I would personally like, and Naganandel was already on the team as a non-Scarf user -- and anything slower than that probably would have left me too vulnerable to numerous threats. Moreover, I elected to go with Ditto as it does exactly what I need this slot to do while also giving me numerous hilarious openings to countersweep teams when facing newer Pokemon like opposing Naganandel and Blacephalon. Finally, I knew I wanted one more win condition and preferably one with a bit bulkier of an outlook and the ability to take advantage of opportunities that frailer Pokemon like Naganandel or more situational Pokemon like Magearna simply could not make much use of, so I decided to make Sub Coil DD Thousand Arrows Zygarde the last Pokemon and honestly this has also been a great addition as so many teams are not sufficiently prepared for this thing, especially with the bulk that Aurora Veil gives it.

Just going to go through a handful of my ladder games from earlier today with the team to try and provide some examples of how the team works and why it is as effective as it is in this fairly volatile metagame. Oh yea and if you watch the replays, ignore the dumb HOMEROW meme we are spamming, it is just an inside joke I have with my friends. fuck user dk btw.

1. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-660932801 - While my opponent was not too high up, he had a common wall, in Chansey, and a common utility Pokemon, in Mew, which I want to focus in on. Notice how the Landorus-T using Explosion prevented any chance the Mew had at making progress via using Defog, a status move, Knock Off, etc. and it gave a free turn to Naganadel to come in and do what it does -- sweep opposing teams. Sure, it did not quite kill all six there, but it was able to RK the Mew and then set up in the face of Chansey only to essentially 1v1 it and get another kill as multiple priority users were needed to take care of it. Finally, an unboosted Dragonite's Earthquake triggered Magearna's Weakness Policy later on and gave that a cool opportunity to net a couple kills to finish off the game.

2. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-660935182 - Pretty straightforward here -- you get some early game momentum with Stealth Rocks and Explosion when you do not see a clear path to lead with Ninetales to set up Veil and then that Explosion turn hopefully gives you the switch-in you previously lacked to set it up and then once you get it up, you get your win condition in and sweep. That's the ideal gameplan when the match-up is right for one of your Pokemon specifically and I did not really have to work for it much here at all as Zygarde absolutely destroyed my opponent's team.

3. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-660936412 - This game was nothing special and there was a fair amount of RNG involved, but I figured showing a game against another cheese archetype like Trick Room could be helpful, so here we go. Thankfully, Zygarde does well against this team, so if you get an opening, you can run away with it, but you must be very careful playing around various threats that TR covers that you lack long-term counterplay to, even with Aurora Veil being up more often than not.

4. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-660941054 - Well, I wanted to include a Magearna sweep or two because I felt the Weakness Policy idea under Aurora Veil was actually neat as fuck, so here one is. This game was not ideal as he got pretty lucky early on and arguably could have done more with his Mega Pinsir, but the game sort of fell into Magearna's lap later on and I ran away with it from there.

5. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-660943052 - Figured I would also add a game against a fairly 'standard' balance team that looked like something you could have realistically encountered before all of the changes the new game brought and this match is that. Zygarde does insanely well against these type of teams assuming they lack something like Clefable and I do not think Clefable will be terribly common for the coming weeks, so that is good as there is an out for teams that have defensive presences to help keep Magearna and Naganandel in check from the start. Basically, Zygarde broke the game open and the rest was pretty straightforward for Magearna and even Ditto cleaning it up.

6. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-660985654 - This is a game that I played pretty sloppy overall, but managed to control through having the tools to break through his team and simply last a bit longer, just to show that Aurora Veil here is not some all-or-nothing style that is always put on a timer. I wish I had a few more games like this, but small sample size and still not all the way on the top of the ladder, but regardless I think that with Ditto, a lot of possibilities are opened up for HO teams like this one and it shows quite a bit here/in general.

7. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen7ou-331741 - Finally, one last Zygarde sweep for the road against a friend of mine. His team was quite good, too, but a lot of people either overlook or simply do not prepare for Zygarde when it comes to its presence on Aurora Veil as it is quite different from the normal sets and is incredibly hard to stop from setting up and then sweeping.

Hello everyone, Spectear here with a team. I've built with the release of Naganadel, a mon that I was excited to play with and thought that could be broken. I wasn't mistaken, without any furder ado, here's the team.

At first glance, we can see this is a HO team that cointains various standard Pokémon in this playstyle, such as Mimikyu, Greninja and Zygarde, of which I'll speak on the next points.

Greninja @ Focus Sash
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Ice Beam
- Taunt
Seeing how Naganadel was going and getting ideas, I decided that hazard stack was what I most liked to use with this guy, and that's why I went with Sash Greninja with his most standard set, Spikes & Toxic Spikes, which we'll use depending on the matchup and the one that rewards more, plus Taunt to prevent opposing Stealth Rock or Defog. As the last move I decided to go with Ice Beam to keep Landorus and similar mons away, also to give revenge kill Naganadel with Sash since I'm full Special Attack.
Personally, I run Female to force the scout of Scarf Gunk Shot in mons like Tapu Koko.

Landorus-Therian @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Swords Dance
Following the hazards and suicide leads I decided to go with a sash rocks user, Landorus-Therian, one of the most important mons on the tier if not the most, mon which does not only get Stealth Rock up and booms with Explosion to avoid Defogging, but also revenge kills and gets cheap damage on a great number of important mons, which makes the win easier for his teammates.
As I said before, the moves are Stealth Rocks, followed by Earthquake as STAB and Swords Dance to break mons like Ferrothorn, Clefable, Gliscor, Landorus, etc.

Mimikyu @ Life Orb
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance
Typical HO Mon. Thanks to his ability, he's able to revenge kill, spin block, get cheap damage and even win on determiated situations. Another of the emergency stop mons vs Naganadel. His set is the classic one. Swords Dance to hit and make significant damage to Celesteela, Landorus and Ferrothorn, as well to give a chance to win in late game.
Shadow Claw as his most spammable STAB move, Play Rough to reven kill mons like Zygarde, Lopunny and Hawlucha. Last but not least, Shadow Sneak being a priority STAB. Adamant nature is to maximize attack.

Gyarados Mega.
Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
The team's Mega Evolution. With Gyarados, we'll try to clean once we've removed his checks, else we'll use him to get cheap damage (As pretty much the whole team lol) and make an easier win for the teammates. Intimidate allows us to both get nice Dragon Dances and minimize rolls. Crunch & Waterfall to hit everything in the meta with STAB and Taunt to avoid Recover, Stealth Rocks and Status stuff.

Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 188 HP / 140 Atk / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Thousand Arrows
- Protect
The second main win condition of the team. The EV's are distributed this way to be able to outspeed Mega Lopunny after a Dragon Dance, having 404 HP Substitutes and extra power.
Substitute allows Zygarde to setup on a Status Pokémon, as well as winning the 1v1 while Toxic Spikes are up on the opposing field vs mons like Tangrowth or Tapu Bulu. Thousand Arrows as his only attacking move, being more than enough for what he's doing and being one of the most spammable moves in the game. Protect help us to PP Stall Terrains like Tapu Lele one, allowing Mimikyu to pressure it, as well as to recover damage with Leftovers and avoid 2HKO of Hidden Power Ice Landorus-Therian. Last but not least, Dragon Dance, making Zygarde a big threat for other teams.

Naganadel @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Wave
The MVP of the team, Naganadel. Broken mon, capable of cleaning the whole metagame after a Nasty Plot, a really easy move to use thanks to hard switch ins and sacks. Draco Meteor and Sludge Wave as STAB moves, Fire Blast for Celesteela, Magearna and Ferrothorn, and as last move, Nasty Plot, to maximize his Special Attack and even being able to 1HKO Heatran with +4 Devastating Drake.

Interesting Naganadel Calcs:
+4 252 Naganadel Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 446-525 (115.5 - 136%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Naganadel Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 124 SpD Celesteela: 414-488 (104 - 122.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Naganadel Fire Blast vs. 200 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Magearna: 206-244 (58.6 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252 SpA Naganadel Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar-Mega in Sand: 357-420 (104.6 - 123.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 SpA Heatran Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Naganadel: 210-248 (73.1 - 86.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Celesteela Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Naganadel: 169-199 (58.8 - 69.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Threats

Mega Lopunny is a really hard mon to play with this team, specially the Fake Out set one. It pressures all the team's checks and emergency stops, specially If it's supported with Toxic Spikes. This happens with Mega Medicham as well, but in a slight way.

Hawlucha. Another mon that can be complicated to play around if it's not correctly pressured with Stealth Rock, being Mimikyu our main revenge killer of this thing.

Mega Mawile. If we do have a lot of ways to pressure it, it can be annoying sometimes.

Weavile. Can be played if correctly pressured with Stealth Rock/Spikes. Gyarados is the main answer, but it can get annoying

Ditto. It's Ditto.

Man I haven't done anything Pokemon related in a minute. Maybe USUM will get me back into it.

click me!

This was a team I built before USUM officially started and was basing off mostly speculation at the time. I knew I wanted to use Naganadel to showcase its Nasty Plot set which cleans up insanely well and has a good matchup against a large portion of the tier. Some things I knew I would need to be able to support Naganadel would be effective hazard removal, and my own hazards to be able to get chip damage to make Naganadel's job easier. Mega Tyranitar is (imo) easily on of the best Pokemon in USUM as it covers a lot of the newer Pokemon and is able to support the rest of the team with Stealth Rock. Its able to effectively check opposing Naganadel and Blacephalon which are newer threats in the tier, while still being able to tank hits from other special attackers and deal out a decent amount of damage. Rotom-W was chosen as hazard removal as it is a nice pivot to have, and served as a ground resist as the previous mons were weak to ground. Tapu Lele and Psychic Seed Hawlucha was something I had a lot of fun playing with on some other teams so I decided to add those two. Tapu Lele served as an effective revenge killer when paired with Scarf and Hawlucha can either clean up on its own or be able to put Naganadel in a position to clean up. Lastly, I added Ferrothorn for Spikes and be able to check rain teams. It felt really risky for me to have a team where Rotom-W and Naganadel as water resists while being able to be broken through due to their down special defense. Without Ferrothorn, a well played rain team could be incredibly hard to deal with. also fuck kartana.

I've played a little bit on the ladder and am currently sitting at 25-0 with the team.
edit: i got dicked and now sits at 28-1, i retire.

Why you are not running speed evs to outspeed Pex? Seems very important to outspeed and ko it.

[Naganadel]

So here's a team I'm unbeaten with so far; I've never been a great builder but this one's pretty solid (thanks celepex). Basically I wanted to build around Naganadel and against it. I genuinely believe the only reliable (and good in the metagame) revenge killer for this mon is Scarf Gren (and AV Ttar I guess) who also helps to beat things like Volc if Toxapex has been whittled or if it's Psychium-Z/Sub Swarm. Not running spikes cause I'd rather U-turn out on mons like Pex/Mantine into Koko. You could probably drop Rock Slide for Gunk Shot if you wanted but having Celesteela kinda removes the need.

Pretty standard core of Lando-Pex-Celesteela with a couple of twists. No change to Celesteela cause why change a perfect mon. But I've tried defensive Defog + SR Lando and it's actually better than i thought it would be, with Webs + Aurora Veil becoming popular, having a mon who can defog on those is awesome, being immune to Defog/Spikes/TSpikes as well as being able to come in on Bulu/Ttar/Zygarde on Veil and defog is super nice. The fact that Lando is so hard to switch into and force out means that oftentimes you actually get 2 turns to remove their hazards and set up your own, although mindgames against opposing Landos aren't so hot. I wanted to try Pex with Knock Off and it's awesome, makes it such a pain in the arse to switch into. Haze I still feel is necessary and TSpikes aren't going to be too great in the upcoming meta so I was willing to forgo those.

Standard specs Koko for that extra bit of oomph and momentum, helps beat the aforementioned mons for Gren while also being a second draco deterrent.

Now Naganadel, as I've said before, there are not many reliable answers to this thing thanks to NP + Beast Boost. In general I end up having to force the mon to hopefully use its Z-Move on Celesteela before trying to Haze stall it with Toxapex. But ultimately you'll have to sack a mon and then come in with Gren to revenge kill it. In terms of using it, I think it's incredible, I think the set I've used is probably the best one atm, but I can see things like Modest Scarf having potential (although missing out on the speed tie with +1 versions of itself sucks) and I've even played aroud with 4 attacks Dragonium which was really nice having the extra coverage and not having to risk Fire Blast on Celesteela with Thunderbolt.

So this is called Day at the Beach. Originally just a dumb theme team, I have found good success with it. Pretty straightforward, Koko and Ttar facilitate either A-Raichu or Exca to sweep giving you win-cons on either side of the spectrum. Zard-Y helps to break through pesky Ferro and Tang. Y over X for theming purposes but it also weakens the power of things like Gren and provides a Ground immunity as opposed to yet another weakness. Taunt Koko helps with prevalent Webs and Veil teams. No Taunt on Fini so that the team actually has a reliable way of dealing with all the Ground mons. AV Ttar obviously gives a defensive Nag check, and the team also has two offensive ones with Exca and A-Raichu both outspeeding and OHKOing even if Nag is at +1. And with dual weather it helps to deal with Rain. Definitely HO.

Fat Balance/Semi Stall team I threw together for fun.

AV Ttar: Main role is to hard counter Blacephon and Naganadel. It is also a good general check to special threats such as Heatran, BoltBeam Magearna and Volcarona.

Heatran: Main role is to answer Mawile-Mega with Will-O-Wisp (which also benefits this team's Sableye matchup). Also provides rocks support, and serves as the general Fairy resist. Taunt helps shut down passive mons like Toxapex/Chansey.

Alomomola: More unkillable than Toxapex, supports Ttar and Heatran with Wish while spreading status. Pivots into most threats to scout/wall fairly effectively, and checks nearly everything in the tier without a STAB SE move, which is pretty impressive.

Zapdos: Chosen over Gliscor on the advice of Sun after I got 6-0'd by a Hawlucha. Serves as the primary flying resist and Lando-T switchin, while also beating non-Toxic Toxapex. EV's could probably be more optimised, 76 def was just the leftovers after creeping Jolly Lando-T.

Tangrowth: My favourite set, Mixed Defense Tangrowth returns with an eclectic set of coverage to answer certain threats to the team, serving as the Electric resist and secondary Water resist. HP Ice primarly targets Zygarde, Sludge Bomb beats Tapu Bulu and Focus Blast hits Kartana 70% of the time.

Sableye-Mega: Mostly here for hazard control and a better fighting type check for threats like Medicham. Is also the primary switch-in to Heatran, to block Stealth Rocks from non-Firium sources.

Common Threats: Toxic Toxapex, Heatran in general, CB Tyranitar, Focus Blast Magearna, Kyurem-Black, Hoopa-U, EQ Mega-Venusaur. All can be played around, however.

These are some teams I built myself and used on the ladder during the time naganadel was allowed on the ou ladder. I mostly hid my replays so I don't have any replays to show but its up to you to take my word that I got my 2 alts to around 1900 elo during the week of which naganadel was allowed.

Voltturn medicham + naga/zygarde

+
/

I used this team the most during the time naganadel was allowed. Even though I lacked hazard control on this team, I didnt have trouble with sticky web, ho and trick room teams because they had bad ashgren/water resists and ashgren with shuriken + scarf koko almost always ended up killing everything late game and giving me the win. Naganadel also wasn't much of a problem because I had av mag plus scarf koko + shuriken gren + mega medi fake out.
  • Ashgren set spikes, strong stabs, shuriken destroys webs+ho.
  • Defensive landot sets sr, uturns momentum, rest standard.
  • Standard av mag blanket checks special attacks.
  • People have mocked me for using scarf special koko and I've seen variations of my team whereby greninja is scarf with specs koko but ashgren + scarf koko is superior in my opinion cause shuriken just does so much and with koko as your scarfer, all u need to do is just rid your opponents landot, which medi is really good at and it just volts and chips everything down without you having to worry about opposing scarfer as koko is the fastest scarfer around. If they switch to their koko counter, medicham comes out and just reks them. If they stay in, they take quite a hefty chunk of chip from terrain boosted volt.
  • Standard naga set, my older version of this team was dd zygarde with dragon z.

Mawile + mimikyu bo

Basic idea of this team is to utilize mawile + garchomp to wallbreak for ashgren and mimikyu to clean up. Utilizes spike stack too. Mimikyu was really good while naganadel was around because as long as its diguise was intact, you couldn't get swept by naga. I still think its a decent mon right now with the sufficient support. A mawile team that actually worked on ladder well for me. Not sure if it's just me, but I find mawile to be really bad on ladder a lot of time because of how offensive most teams tend to be and it just can't keep up.
  • Standard 4 atks wallbreaker mawile.
  • Standard ashgren.
  • Scarf landot which most ppl didnt expect as it looked like garchomp or gren would be my scarfer on this team and I used this to my advantage to get surprise kills on stuff like ashgren leads.
  • Ferro with sr + gyro ball along with power whip because I didn't like naganadel coming in for free.
  • Garchomp patches up the heatran weakness and +2 devastating drakes destroys fat landot for mawile + mimikyu.
  • Mimikyu along with ashgren as my cleanup mons.

Zardx ho

A team that appears to be your standard fat landot with av mag zardx offense but is actually a lot more offensive and has worked very well for me.
  • Dd zardx with blitz/dclaw/roost/dd, I believe that's the best dd set as it gave me many sweeps.
  • Scarf koko over scarf latios because I don't like to use scarf defog latios with a 4x sr weak mon like zard and also scarf volt turn shenenigans.
  • Expert belt landot to get rid of landot for my koko to volt freely and zardx to run rampant.
  • Double dance aguav berry magearna to weaken heatran for zardx and possibly sweep too.
  • A latios set which people like to call a meme but it almost always works on the ladder. Z-eq gets rid of heatran for zardx to dd on opponents' faces, bypasses grassy terrain.
  • Hawlucha to potentially cleanup if zardx + mag don't do the job.

Lopunny bo

Utilizes lopunny which was great during naganadel week because it was able to outspeed it along with ashgren/koko.
  • Spd magma heatran for naganadel and also to trap pex and shiz because those were still present on ladder even then.
  • Av bulu as my ashgren resist.
  • Sd z fly lando-t to nuke opposing landot for lopunny which doesn't run ice punch.
  • Standard ashgren.
  • Scarf koko which benefits from z fly landot nuking opposing landot.
Originally had sr spd heatran and defog lando-t but I found it difficult to get sr up vs webs and ho so I just switched it over to landot, which resulted in no hazard control sadly. This team is also quite annoyed by heatran.

Mega latios + blacephalon bo

My take on a core the ou mod gary posted on ultra sm good cores if I remember right. Latios was supposed to lure ttar for blacephalong but tbh it beame such a wellknown core I ended up jumbling the order of the team up a bit to make it less obvious I was using mega latios lol.

  • Mega latios with eq to lure ttar for blacephalon.
  • Scarf blacephalon supported by terrain from lele to help with ashgren even though some people say ashgren dropped in usage for some reason. (huh ashgren still as good as ever)
  • Spoon cm lele which was really good even though people were like oh lele isn't good hurrhurr. Not true because heatran and av ttar were everywhere and this set could weaken them severely and also bluff a choice set.
  • Sd z fight kartana with defog for blacephalon and to smack mons like celesteela for lele. Even though this isn't scarf, it can still put ashgren users in awkward situations when they want to click water shuriken due to lele.
  • Standard fat landot and av magearna for sponging hits.

I wanted to make a team since i haven't played this game in a super long time and i also don't know much about this gen. I did my best to build a decent team though it might have some big weaknesses idk. basically i wanted to build a team with mawile, and i heard mawile + volcarona is a good core. from there i added latios for hazard removal, lando for rocks + general defensive backbone against lots of stuff, greninja to rkill stuff this doesnt have an actual answer to like volcarona. something something tapu koko kills birds or smth idk. i made this like a week ago so my memory is a bit hazy

still if anyone has any improvements they would make lmk. i'm not very experienced in this gen so anything helps.
