[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========

Thundurus's ability Prankster makes it a valuable addition to Flying teams because it can paralyze threats like Kyurem-B and Terrakion with priority Thunder Wave. Thundurus is Flying's best check to Water-types like Toxapex and Mantine that can tank Mega Charizard Y's Solar Beam. Thundurus also has a high Special Attack stat alongside access to many coverage moves such as Grass Knot and Focus Blast, allowing it to threaten bulky Ground- and Rock-types. Furthermore, Thundurus has access to a great utility move in Knock Off, letting it cripple common switch-ins such as Chansey. Thundurus also sits at an amazing Speed tier, which allows it to outspeed threats like Latios and makes it an amazing revenge killer. However, it still gets outsped by common threats to Flying such as Tapu Koko and Greninja, which are also immune to Prankster Thunder Wave. Despite Thundurus being a great offensive threat, its bad defensive stats make it easy to revenge kill, especially through the use of priority moves. Thundurus doesn't appreciate entry hazards due to its lack of recovery, as they wear it down easily with the addition of Life Orb recoil.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Thunder Wave, with the help of Prankster, cripples many threats such as Latios and Choice Scarf Kyurem-B. Thunderbolt is a reliable STAB move that gives Thundurus coverage against Water- and Flying-types. Hidden Power Ice is used to hit targets that Thunderbolt cannot hit such as Landorus and Gliscor. Grass Knot is a good coverage move that hits bulky Ground-types such as Seismitoad, Swampert, and Gastrodon. Knock Off is an alternative option that lets Thundurus surprise and cripple switch-ins like Chansey; however, using it means losing out on Grass Knot's useful coverage.

Set Details
========

Prankster gives Thunder Wave priority, which allows it to be used against faster Pokemon before they can hit Thundurus. Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature is used to let Thundurus outspeed many threats like Keldeo, Landorus, and Latios. 252 EVs in Special Attack along with Life Orb let Thundurus hit as hard as possible.

Usage Tips
========

Thundurus can utilize Prankster Thunder Wave to slow down faster threats such as Choice Scarf Victini, Kyurem-B, and Terrakion. However, it doesn't have the best bulk and is thus not a reliable switch-in to many direct attacks and almost always goes down in exchange for crippling a foe with paralysis. Thundurus should be brought into play through pivoting moves from teammates such as Zapdos and Landorus-T. Thundurus can also switch into setup sweepers like Mega Charizard X and Salamence prior to their setup, allowing you to fire off a Thunder Wave and cripple them. It's worth it to sacrifice Thundurus to paralyze a big threat like Double Dance Mew or Terrakion. With its amazing Speed tier, Thundurus can revenge kill many Pokemon, such as Tapu Fini, Celesteela, and Mega Charizard Y. If Thundurus isn't needed to paralyze an opposing Pokemon, it should be kept healthy because it's a great late-game sweeper. It's very important to keep Stealth Rock off the field as much as possible to prevent Thundurus from taking entry hazard damage. Most specially defensive walls such as Chansey, Alolan Muk, and Mega Venusaur eat up anything Thundurus throws at them, but it's free to switch in on certain Water-type walls such as Toxapex and Mantine and immediately threaten them.

Team Options
========

Stealth Rock users such as Skarmory, Landorus-T, Aerodactyl, and Gliscor help wear opposing teams down and let Thundurus clean up more easily. Zapdos, Skarmory, and Mantine are essential for using Defog to clear Stealth Rock. Substitute + Toxic Zapdos in particular breaks Chansey and other bulkier Pokemon, and defensive Zapdos in general is a good switch-in to threats like Tapu Koko. Mantine and Skarmory provide a neutrality to Ice and form a good balanced core together, with Mantine being the special wall and Skarmory being the physical wall. Another great Pokemon neutral to Ice and Rock is Celesteela, which also helps with wearing down checks like Chansey with Leech Seed and Protect. Gliscor and Landorus-T are two good Electric-immune partners. Gliscor can stallbreak and absorb status ailments once Poison Heal activates, while Landorus-T can bring in Thundurus safely with U-turn and can set up Swords Dance without worrying about its low Speed thanks to Thundurus's Thunder Wave. Landorus, Mega Charizard Y, and Dragonite are great wallbreakers to soften up the opposing team, allowing Thundurus to clean up easily. Mega Aerodactyl is a decent partner, as it sits at an amazing Speed tier that allows it to clean up late-game and also appreciates Thundurus's reliability in taking out bulky Water- and Ground-types.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Flying
--------
Nasty Plot can be used to take advantage of Prankster and make Thundurus a deadly setup sweeper, but Thundurus's bad bulk makes setting up Nasty Plot quite hard. Focus Blast can be used to hit certain walls, such as Ferrothorn, Porygon2, and Heatran, harder. Focus Blast can also be used for Excadrill switch ins against Ground, as that is the main switch-in to Thundurus for Ground teams, and being able to eliminate Excadrill is very useful for offensive teams. Taunt is also an alternative that prevents walls like Chansey, Clefable, and Torkoal from setting up entry hazards. The addition of Taunt or Focus Blast, however, means losing Grass Knot, which prevents Thundurus from hitting Swampert, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon, or losing Hidden Power Ice, which means Thundurus cannot hit Pokemon like Garchomp, Landorus, and Dragonite.

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------

**Mega Venusaur**: Mega Venusaur doesn't care much about Thunder Wave because it is already a slow Pokemon, and Thundurus can barely touch it.

**Chansey**: Chansey walls Thundurus in general. Thunder Wave doesn't hinder it thanks to Natural Cure, and Thunderbolt doesn't do much damage do it, but Chansey should be careful of Knock Off.

**Special Walls**: Specially defensive Pokemon such as Cradily and Lanturn can easily switch into Thundurus, forcing it out.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu under Electric Terrain can outspeed and easily OHKO Thundurus. Specially defensive Zapdos, meanwhile, can stall it out. Electric-types in general are immune to Thunder Wave and can normally switch into Thundurus relatively fearlessly.

**Ground-types**: Faster Ground-types such as Choice Scarf or Sand Rush Excadrill, Dugtrio, and Choice Scarf Garchomp are immune to Thunder Wave, forcing you to sacrifice Thundurus or switch out. Slower Ground-types need to be careful of coverage moves but are still relatively safe switch-ins because they are immune to Thunder Wave.

**Faster Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Greninja, Weavile, and Mega Houndoom are not affected by Prankster Thunder Wave, allowing them to outspeed and OHKO Thundurus. However, Dark-types generally can't switch into Thundurus's attacks.

**Chip Damage**: Thundurus gets easily worn down by Life Orb recoil, Stealth Rock damage, and status ailments, making it easy to revenge kill

**Revenge Killers**: Due to Thundurus's lack of good defenses, it can be revenge killed by many faster threats like Mega Aerodactyl, Weavile, Greninja, and Tapu Koko.

Ready for first QC, sorry it took like 2 days finished it on a road trip on my iPad so took a while

AM Check

* Thundurus is very weak to Stealth Rocks making it very reliant on having a Defogger as a teammate
  • It's actually not very weak to Stealth Rock. Things like Volcarona and Charizard could be qualified as "very weak to Stealth Rock". I'd just remove that line.
Usage Tips

* Thundurus can utilize Prankster Thunder Wave to slow down faster threats such as Choice Scarf Victini, Kyurem-B and Terrakion.

* Thunder Wave should be used against opposing Pokemon that can sweep or do serious damage to your team such as Tapu Bulu, Mega Charizard X and Choice Scarf Victini.
  • Both these lines are pretty much saying the same thing.
  • You can add that Thundurus can switch into setup sweepers like Mega Charizard X as they set up to paralyze them. I think you should also note that it's ok to sacrifice Thundurus in the process of paralyzing a big threat like Double Dance Terrakion.
  • Revenge killing?
  • If Thundurus isn't needed to paralyze something it should be kept healthy because it's a pretty good late-game cleaner.
Team Options
  • Aerodactyl on hyper offensive teams.
  • Mega Aerodactyl? Thundurus can take out bulky Water / Ground types for Mega Aerodactyl.
Other Options

* Nasty Plot can use Nasty Plot to take advantage of Prankster
??
  • Idk about the physical set thing. I'll leave that to QC
Checks & Counters
  • Note that these Ground-types cannot switch into one of Thundurus's coverage moves.
  • Chansey needs to be wary of Knock Off.
"easily worn down with Lie Orb recoil" :pirate:

I should consider getting a comp one day

[OVERVIEW]
* Thundurus also sits at an amazing Speed tier allowing it to outspeed threats like Latios.
- Add to this being able to function as a revenge killer.

Usage Tips:
* Thundurus can also switch into set up sweepers like Mega Charizard X and Salamance as they set up to paralyze. it's ok to sacrifice Thundurus in the process of paralyzing a big threat like Double Dance Mew and Terrakion.
- I'm pretty wary about this because just switching Thundurus in on these sweepers would actually be a potential to in KOing it given they don't tend to set up. It's pretty weird to read tbh.
- Make sure to have Stealth Rock off the field as much as possible to keep Thundurus from taking constant damage.

Team Options:
* Another great Ice neutrality is Celesteela, as it also helps with wearing down checks like Chansey with Leech Seed and Protect.
- Rock neutrality too tanking Rock moves, especially against things such as Power Gem Nihilego and being able to take them on with its Steel-type STAB attacks.
* Gliscor and Landorus-T are Electric-immune Pokemon. Gliscor can stallbreak while Landorus-T can set up Swords Dance without worrying about its Speed thanks to Thundurus's Thunder Wave.
- Gliscor also functioning as your status absorber (especially once Poison Heal activates). Landorus-T being good in bringing in Thundurus safely from U-turn.
* Mega Aerodactyl is a decent partner as it appreciates Thundurus's reliability to take out bulky Water- and Ground- types.
- What's Mega Aerodactyl supposed to do in return for Thundurus?

Other Options:
- Yeah, remove the entire physical set. Lando-T, Gliscor, and Dragonite are usually your main physical attackers anyway and it just leaves this set to be desired.
- I would suggest adding in Taunt in being able to also stallbreak defensive threats and talk about the trade off in ridding one of your coverage moves.

Checks and Counters
- Just from the checks / counters you listed, I would definitely make a Revenge Killers section because with Thundy's subpar bulk much of them are able to easily pick it off.

All that I have overall good job

Updated and ready for QC #2, also about the Usage tips i basically meant that you bring in Thundurus before they set up, allowing you to fire off a thunder wave but i rephrased it, if you need me to change/delete it let me know! but thanks for the QC :)

[OVERVIEW]

- What does its typing bring to Flying teams?

Usage Tips

* Thundurus doesn't have the best bulk therefore its not a reliable switch in to many direct hitting attacks, and Thundurus appreciates the longevity to fire off Thunder Waves to assist its slower team mates.
* Thundurus should be brought into play through pivoting moves from teammates such as Zapdos and Landorus-T.
- Combine these two.

Other Options

* Focus Blast can be used to hit certain walls harder such as Ferrothorn, Porygon2 and Heatran. Focus Blast can also be used for Excadrill Switch-ins on Ground as that is the main switch in to Thundurus, and being able to kill Excadrill is very useful for offensive teams.
* Taunt is an also an alternative preventing walls like Chansey, Clefable and Torkoal from setting up entry hazards.
- Why are they not as viable as the moves on the set?

Checks and Counters

- Add Rock-types.
- Re-name Dark-types to Faster Dark-types.
- I don't see why Electric-types are at the top? Re-arrange it to:

- Mega Venusaur
- Chansey
- SpDef Walls
- Ice-types
- Rock-types
- Ground-types
- Electric-types
- Faster Dark-types
- Chip Damage
- Revenge Killers

QC 2/3
Implemented! Thank you, forgot to keep the order of C&C in mind while doing it but changed it, ready for #3

Overview:
- I'd definitely mention that Thundurus's Speed tier is nice but in the end it's still outsped by Flying's big threats, Greninja and Tapu Koko, and they cannot always be hit by Prankster Thunder Wave.
- You need to talk about Thundurus being the best check to Water-types that Flying has. (Comment: Lanturn has largely fallen out of favor, and Toxapex / Mantine are new walls that stop Mega Charizard Y)

Set Details:
- Latios should definitely be in the list of outsped Pokemon over, say, Garchomp.

Usage Tips:
- This line is weird:
It doesn't have the best bulk therefore it's not a reliable switch in to many direct hitting attacks, and Thundurus appreciates the longevity to fire off Thunder Waves to assist it's slower team mates
- w.r.t. its bulk, talk about how it almost always goes down in exchange for the crippling paralysis. I have no idea what longevity's about in the second half.
- Definitely talk about walls. Thundurus's strength is in revenge killing and threatening paralysis. Almost all special walls that aren't weak to Electric eat up its moves. It should be noted that Water-type walls such as Toxapex and Mantine are relatively easy to switch into and immediately threaten.

Team Options:
- It seems weird to talk about Zapdos's Electric neutrality for a Pokemon that has one of its own. Explicitly explain that defensive Zapdos is a good switch-in for threats like Tapu Koko. That's better than talking about a neutrality that isn't intuitively useful.

Checks and Counters:
Should consolidate some of these.
Ice- and Rock-types should go into Revenge Killers.

Discuss Electric-, Ground-, and Dark-types more specifically and differentiate from other revenge killers and each other. All three are immune to Thunder Wave. Electric-types generally switch into Thundurus relatively fearlessly. Ground-types need to be careful of coverage but are still relatively safe switch-ins. Dark-types should almost never switch in, bar expected Thunder Wave.

Thundurus can utilize Prankster Thunder Wave to slow down faster threats such as Choice Scarf Victini, Kyurem-B, and Terrakion. Most specially defensive walls such as Chansey, Alolan Muk, and Mega Venusaur eat up anything Thundurus throws at them, but it's free to switch in on certain Water-type walls such as Toxapex and Mantine and immediately threaten them.

Stealth Rock users such as Skarmory, Landorus-T, Aerodactyl, and Gliscor help wear opposing teams down and let Thundurus clean up more easily. Zapdos, Skarmory, and Mantine are essential for using Defog to clear Stealth Rock. SubToxic Zapdos in particular breaks Chansey and other bulkier Pokemon, and defensive Zapdos in general is a good switch-(ah)in to threats like Tapu Koko. Mantine and Skarmory provide neutrality to Ice and form a good balanced core together, with Mantine being the special wall and Skarmory being the physical wall. Mega Aerodactyl is a decent partner, as it sits at an amazing Speed tier that allows it to clean up late-game and appreciates Thundurus's reliability in taking out bulky Water- and Ground-types.

Nasty Plot can be used to take advantage of Prankster and make Thundurus a deadly setup sweeper, but its bad bulk makes setting up Nasty Plot quite hard. Focus Blast can be used to hit certain walls, such as Ferrothorn, Porygon2, and Heatran, harder. Focus Blast can also be used for Excadrill switch-ins against Ground, as that is the main switch-(ah)in to Thundurus for Ground teams, and being able to eliminate Excadrill is very useful for offensive teams. Taunt is an also an alternative that prevents walls like Chansey, Clefable, and Torkoal from setting up entry hazards.

**Mega Venusaur**: Mega Venusaur doesn't care much about Thunder Wave because it is already a slow Pokemon, and Thundurus can barely touch it.

**Chansey**: Chansey walls Thundurus in general. Thunder Wave doesn't hinder it thanks to Natural Cure, and Thunderbolt doesn't do much damage do it, but Chansey should should be careful of Knock Off.

**Faster Dark-types**: Dark types such as Greninja, Weavile, and Mega Houndoom are not affected by Prankster Thunder Wave, (ac) allowing them to outspeed and OHKO Thundurus. However, Dark-types generally can't switch into Thundurus's attacks.

**Chip Damage**: Thundurus gets easily worn down by Life Orb recoil, Stealth Rock damage, and status ailments.

**Revenge Killers**: Due to Thundurus's lack of good defenses, it can be revenge killed by many faster threats like Mega Aerodactyl, Weavile, Greninja, and Tapu Koko.

hi, gp 2/2

[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========

Thundurus also sits at an amazing Speed tier,
allowing which allows (little bit of repetition) it to outspeed threats like Latios and making makes it an amazing revenge killer. However, it still gets outsped by common threats to Flying such as Tapu Koko and Greninja, (AC) which that are also immune to Prankster Thunder Wave. Despite Thundurus being a great offensive threat, its bad defensive stats make it easy to revenge kill, (AC) especially through the use of priority moves. Thundurus doesn't appreciate entry hazards due to its lack of recovery, as they wear it down easily with the addition of Life Orb recoil.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Thundurus can also switch into setup sweepers like Mega Charizard X and Salamence prior to their set up setup, allowing you to fire off a Thunder Wave and cripple them. It's worth it to sacrifice Thundurus for paralyzing to paralyze a big threat like Double Dance Mew or Terrakion.
