Your sets will be added to the Hall Of Fame! For our next week, we have one of the newest additions to the SV OU metagame despite having been in the game since release; Swords Dance Weavile!

:sv/Weavile:
Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Triple Axel
- Low Kick / Ice Shard
- Swords Dance

Weavile is one of the strongest Balance breakers in the tier, with its new toolkit that includes the 120BP Ice STAB move Triple Axel and a Knock Off that it only gained in DLC1. Low Kick and Ice Shard are interchangeable in the third slot, with Low Kick giving Weavile perfect coverage to shred through bulkier teams while Ice Shard allows it to pick off faster would-be revenge killers like Dragapult. Swords Dance boosts this mon's power to astronomical levels, which can be used in conjunction with Tera Ice to let this mon muscle through even the toughest physical walls, letting it break and force a Knock Off onto key targets that hate being left weak to hazards. Can you break the Ice before it breaks you?

Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fighting / Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Mighty Cleave
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

As long as Booster Energy is intact (or Electric Terrain is up), Iron Boulder has the speed advantage and can easily take an Ice Shard and OHKO in return. Even without Quark Drive, it can take any one hit from non-teraed Weavile, and it has a 50% chance (after accounting for accuracy) of surviving Tera Ice Triple Axel, or 100% if you use Tera Water.

252 Atk Weavile Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Boulder: 76-90 (23.6 - 28%) -- 85.7% chance to 4HKO

IVs: 0 Atk

Sylveon had an amazing time in gen 6, even if it wound up in UU.
Now it's in NU, but that doesn't stop it from shattering the Ice!

With this IV spread, Sylveon can survive a Tera boosted Triple Axel before being able to attack.
252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 50 HP / 156 Def Sylveon: 288-342 (83.9 - 99.7%) -- approx. 2HKO

Why have I put Hyper Beam there? I was feeling silly.
It's completely optional though, as Hyper Voice is also able KO Tera Ice Weavile.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Weavile: 590-696 (209.9 - 247.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I think Weavile can spend a bit more IVs on SpD. Anyways, meet our next contestant!

RaiBlue (Azumarill) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Liquidation
- Ice Spinner

Azumarill started its competitive career off in GSC NU, where it was an excellent tank.
But ever since it got Huge Power in RSE, it jumped to UU and never dropped to RU or lower again.
Now it's here to show Weavile why it's in SV OU.

Weavile can either use Triple Axel, Knock Off, or Swords Dance while Azumarill is busy switching in.
Weavile is only able to sort of threaten Azumarill if it is able to Tera. Otherwise Azumarill sweeps without problem.
Triple Axel does maximum damage with Tera Ice:
252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 116 HP / 0 Def Azumarill: 153-180 (41.3 - 48.6%) -- approx. 3HKO
Azumarill can then proceed to Liquidation it to oblivion.
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Liquidation vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Weavile: 360-424 (128.1 - 150.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

If Weavile decides to use Knock Off, it's simply delaying its demise.
252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 116 HP / 0 Def Azumarill: 90-106 (24.3 - 28.6%) -- 98.9% chance to 4HKO
With its Choice Band knocked off, Play Rough is still a guaranteed 2HKO on a Tera Ice Weavile.
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Weavile: 255-300 (90.7 - 106.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
Azumarill can then proceed to use Aqua Jet. (Ice Shard does (13.7 - 16.2%) -- possible 5HKO (on a weakened Azumarill)
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Weavile: 114-135 (40.5 - 48%) -- guaranteed OHKO

If Weavile tries to Swords Dance when Azumarill is switching in, and then proceeds to fire off a Triple Axel...
+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 116 HP / 0 Def Azumarill: 300-354 (81 - 95.6%) -- approx. 2HKO
It fails to KO.
Azumarill easily cleans Weavile up with either Liquidation or Play Rough.

Zamazenta @ Leftovers
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Crunch
- Substitute

The standard IDBP set. Not quite a counter since it can lose to +2 Tera Ice Triple Axel followed by Ice Shard if you don't have access to Tera/Dauntless Shield but otherwise, you can switch into anything else, then just outspeed Weavile and Body Press it out of existence, even if you don't have Dauntless Shield boost and Weavile uses Tera.

+2 252 Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. +1 252 HP / 88 Def Zamazenta: 201-243 (51.8 - 62.6%) -- approx. 97.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. +1 252 HP / 88 Def Zamazenta: 270-324 (69.5 - 83.5%) -- approx. 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Ice Shard vs. +1 252 HP / 88 Def Zamazenta: 90-108 (23.1 - 27.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
^Weavile needs to Tera on Triple Axel if you have access to Dauntless Shield to take you out and then finish you off, and that's if you don't Tera Steel

+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Ice Shard vs. +1 252 HP / 88 Def Tera Steel Zamazenta: 45-54 (11.5 - 13.9%) -- possibly the worst move ever

What if you don't have access to Dauntless Shield's boost? Well, hard switching in if Weavile is at +2 is no longer an option unfortunately

+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 88 Def Zamazenta: 408-486 (105.1 - 125.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 88 Def Zamazenta: 306-363 (78.8 - 93.5%) -- approx. 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
^Even if you Tera Steel the turn after you come in you fall to Ice Shard unless they get a low roll or miss a hit

But you still can just revenge after the Weavile takes someone else and delete them, even without Dauntless Shield

88 Def Zamazenta Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Weavile: 300-354 (106.7 - 125.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Great submissions, I like what's been posted so far!

Iron Crown @ Leftovers
I usually prefer to let people police their own submissions according to the guidelines for what makes a check and a counter, but unfortunately this doesn't fall under the definition of a counter; if you switch in on a Swords Dance, Weavile outspeeds and OHKOs you with Knock Off. This would work as a check, though your Iron Moth submission is already a great example of that so it's up to you which you'd prefer to use. Sorry!

Eyy, fair. Would changing it to speed booster to outspeed weavile be fine? 'Cause I did it.

:volcarona:

Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Fairy
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Tera Blast
- Giga Drain

This set very strongly encourages even +2 Weavile to leave the scene under threat of dying or taking a burn.

Fiery Dance is a guaranteed OHKO no matter what, and Weavile can never kill you at +0 with anything, even Low Kick. At +2, Knock Off does kill, but Weavile is heavily discouraged from clicking Knock Off due to the eminent threat of Flame Body. Also, this is where Tera Fairy comes in:

+2 252 Atk Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Fairy Volcarona: 212-250 (68.1 - 80.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

There's always the risk that they read the Tera and click Triple Axel. However, this is damn near guaranteed to leave it burned, which is essentially the same as killing Weavile, so that's mission accomplished either way. The risk/reward is heavily in your favor here.

:sv/alomomola:

Alomomola @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Tera Type: Flying
Relaxed Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Whirlpool
- Chilling Water

Alomomola is a check. While it can be overwhelmed if Weavile is Terastalized and boosts up enough, none of its moves can 2HKO unless it gets to +4 or a lot of hazards have been set. While Alomomola doesn't do much to it in return, it can use Chilling Water to keep Weavile's attack stat under control, especially if it starts setting up on you.

Rocky Helmet is an interesting item choice in this matchup. While it makes Alomomola more vulnerable to hazards, all of Weavile's moves except Ice Shard make contact, meaning that, unless it gets knocked off, Weavile will be taking a lot of chip damage with every move -- especially Triple Axel.

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP/192 Def/64 SpD
Bold Nature
Tera-Type: Steel
- Baneful Bunker
- Toxic
- Haze
- Recover

Comes in. Hazes. Gets out. Simple.

Only thing Weavile can really do to Toxapex is the initial Knock Off, but that only works once, and Pex can still function to an acceptable degree regardless of whether or not it has its item any more. After that, well...

+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 192+ Def Toxapex: 138-165 (45.3 - 54.2%) -- approx. 42.2% chance to 2HKO/ approx. 3.1% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
+2 252 Atk Weavile Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 192+ Def Toxapex: 111-132 (36.5 - 43.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Pex can still Recover off the initial Knock if it has to since, again, the boost only comes into play once.

+2 252 Atk Tera Ice Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 192+ Def Toxapex: 166-196 (54.6 - 64.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

As you can see, that is very survivable indeed.

Primarina not only can fairly comfortably switch into Weavile, but it can also OHKO it from full while uninvested, all while also being able to pivot out on an expected switch. Probably to be combined with a fairly offensive squad, as getting knocked can put Prim on a timer.

Simply put, just blow it up with vacuum wave when given an opportunity, if it teras, vacuum wave is still a 2HKO, while it has no real way to threaten you back if it was a safe switch in, and if it switches you have flip turn to retain momentum. If you switch in on SD, you are still guaranteed to survive a hit and can ohko with Secret Sword, and even tera ice +2 Triple Axel still never picks up a K.O. without hazards, though if it is running ice shard it will.
