Expert belt hp fire Gengar

Gengar @ Expert Belt
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Fire

With expert belt, you can bluf the choice specs, making scizor look like a good switch in. If scizor comes in, you will have a 50% chance to OHKO, and a garuanteed OHKO after rocks or 1 layer of spikes, while in return, bullet punch doesn't OHKO you, so even if you miss the prediction of scizor switching in, you will get off at least one hp fire. Hp fire can also be used to lure ferro or other steels, doing more damage than stab shadow ball because of expert belt.

252 SpA Expert Belt Gengar Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 317-374 (92.4 - 109%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Expert Belt Gengar Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 317-374 (92.4 - 109%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Expert Belt Gengar Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 317-374 (92.4 - 109%) -- guaranteed OHKO after 1 layer of Spikes

Fire Blast T-Tar

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Stone Edge
- Crunch

Scarf Tyranitar is a little unexpected because both Ice Beam and Fire Blast are really useful with so many targets 4x weak to them.
The elemental punches are strong, but Intimidate, Rocky Helmet, Rough Skin cut your Atk or chip away your own hp.
Choice Scarf somehow makes up for the low Spe towards faster threats.

0 SpA Tyranitar Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 304-360 (88.6 - 104.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO

Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shift Gear
just one of my own magearna sets that beats this scizor variant 100% of the time. one hp fire and scizor is down and the set is simply effective in itself.
The one relevant calc: 252 SpA Life Orb Magearna Hidden Power Fire vs. 200 HP / 4 SpD Scizor-Mega: 343-406 (103.6 - 122.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Note: volcoronas and heatrans are a pain for this set and also a few other pokemon but the point of the set is to lure anyway.

Something that actually would force Scizor to switch-in

Reuniclus @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 1 Atk
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick Room

Expecting CM, Scizor could switch-in and out with U-turn expecting CM+Focus Miss/Shadow Ball. Deals same damage than Focus Blast to Ferrothorn, Mega Mawile, Celesteela and Magearna.

252+ SpA Life Orb Reuniclus Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 364-432 (106.1 - 125.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Side note, this would be the CM damage:

0 SpA Reuniclus Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 212-252 (61.8 - 73.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

EDIT: I put another mon and deleted it because I have autism

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Fire Punch

Fire Punch allows T-Tar to break through it's usual switch ins, such as M-Scizor or Ferrothorn, and prevent him from risking Stone-Edge misses against Skarmory and Celesteela.

Fire Blast Chansey

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Def/ 252 SpA
Bold Nature
- Fire Blast
- Toxic
- Soft-boiled
- Stealth Rock/ Seismic Toss/ Heal Bell

252 SpA Chansey Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 228-272 (66.4 - 79.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Defog Scizor can switch in on Chansey quite easily and get a free Defog off, and if it's running superpower drop one of those freely, but with this set, chansey make scizor her bitch instead of vice versa, ensuring a 2HKO before rocks and spikes

252 SpA Chansey Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 228-272 (66.4 - 79.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and 3 layers of Spikes
hes gone, also 2hkos ferro in the same circumstances
252+ SpA Chansey Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 248-296 (72.3 - 86.2%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and 1 layer of Spikes ----Modest

Nope.

Togekiss just NP's as it switches in and then Z fire blast. Yup. Yup.

HP Fire Latios by Ramses and HP Fire Mega Scizor by Cheryl. r the winners. sedertz is a dumb for not finishing Lando ‘cuz that would’ve won if there was an actual post to go with it zzzzzzzzz

Round 3: Defensive Mega Venusaur

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 156 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain / Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Hidden Power Fire / Earthquake

Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Wild Charge
- Brave Bird
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Taunt

Brave Bird is a clean 2HKO on Mega Venusaur and despite being a bit prediction reliant as Koko should use the move as Venusaur switches in because Tapu Koko fears Sludge Bomb. Still, even if Mega Venusaur switches out after taking the first Brave Bird, it will be severely weakened allowing teammates to 2HKO with ease afterwards.

252 Atk Tapu Koko Brave Bird vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 188-222 (51.7 - 61.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Extrasensory
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Spikes

Mega Venusaur is one of Greninja's best checks, however Psychium Z Extrasensory can almost always effectively OHKO it after rocks damage and thus get rid of it for the rest of its teammembers like Tapu Koko for example.

252 SpA Protean Greninja Shattered Psyche (160 BP) vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 306-360 (84.2 - 99.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Shattered Psyche (160 BP) vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 298-352 (82 - 96.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Shattered Psyche (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 192+ Def Toxapex: 214-252 (70.3 - 82.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Shattered Psyche (160 BP) vs. 248 HP / 44 Def Amoonguss: 484-570 (112.2 - 132.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 44 Def Amoonguss: 242-286 (56.1 - 66.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery

Defensive Mega Venusaur can think that can easily tank a hit from Tapu Bulu (it is clear that this Tapu Bulu doesn't run CB because can switch moves), but a Z-boosted Zen Headbutt can almost kill Venusaur with little prior damage.
Zen Headbutt in general is relevant towards Amoonguss and Toxapex if you want to avoid as much recoil as possible in the first hit.

Flynium Z Keldeo

Keldeo @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bounce
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Poison Jab

Physical Keldeo is one of the most underrated mons in the meta right now and it can sweep whole teams with the right support. When Keldeo gets in it usually forces a switch when it comes in, so it gets up a SD most of the time. +2 Z Bounce OHKOs mega Venusaur always when it switches in and it likes to switch in to Keldeo. CC for a strong fighting type STAB and Jab for the fairies that like to switch in to Keldeo.

+2 252 Atk Keldeo Supersonic Skystrike (160 BP) vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 366-432 (100.8 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Moveset can be changed to suit the team, TBolt for Celes, Focus Blast for Steels, Fleur Cannon, Flash Cannon STAB
No one thinks that Magearna has a psychic move outside of the weak psybeam, and gets hit with a 190 BP Shattered Psyche
252 SpA Magearna Shattered Psyche (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 282-334 (77.6 - 92%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Magearna Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Thick Fat Venusaur-Mega: 68-82 (18.7 - 22.5%) -- possible 5HKO
Nails Venusaur with SR up with Ice Beam + Shattered Psyche
Also hits Pex so you don't need TBolt:
252 SpA Magearna Shattered Psyche (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 64 SpD Toxapex: 292-344 (96 - 113.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Magearna Shattered Psyche (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 216+ SpD Amoonguss: 356-420 (82.5 - 97.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Kartana @ Steelium Z

Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword

Mega-Venusaur can eat hits from Fightnium variants even at +2, and can kill Kartana back with HP Fire, but Steelium Kartana is able to KO Mega-Venusaur after a SD. Steelium is also useful for other Pokemon like Clefable and Mega-Mawile, because it allows Kartana to KO them without any boosts.

+2 252 Atk Kartana Corkscrew Crash (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 456-537 (125.6 - 147.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

PS: If you feel that Steelium is too specific, you can use Darkinium, although it's not a 100% KO at +2 even after rocks.

Not sure if I am allowed to submit multiples but whatever:
Psychium-Z Kartana

Kartana @ Psychium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Psycho Cut
- Sacred Sword

Kartana can run Psycho Cut over Smart Strike/Night Slash to do the same thing to Zapdos as Night Slash while being able to hit a few targets such as MVenusaur. At +2 Kartana OHKO's with Shattered Psyche while having a high chance of doing so with Rocks or chip damage
252 Atk Kartana Shattered Psyche (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 306-360 (84.2 - 99.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252 Atk Kartana Shattered Psyche (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 608-716 (167.4 - 197.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
If you get to +3 you can even not use Z-Move:
+3 252 Atk Kartana Psycho Cut vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 380-448 (104.6 - 123.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Or with Rocks or chip damage +2 is enough:
+2 252 Atk Kartana Psycho Cut vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 306-360 (84.2 - 99.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Reserving Nature Power Serperior

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power Fire
- Nature Power
- Hyper Beam/Leech Seed/Giga Drain

Yo so I'm pretty sure this is how Nature Power works, basically, M-Venusaur walls Serp indefinitely, even Z-Hyper Beam sets unless you wanna use your Z and then waste your mon with a HB; and even then you've gotta be at +2.

With this set, you hit your leaf storm, Venusaur will come in, mainly to avoid a potential leaf storm, and proceed to more or less knock you about with Sludge Bomb. But na mate, you've got the Z-Psychic in the Psychic Terrain bois. Letting you know this is still incredibly weak and you need the Leaf Storm damage + Rocks/Spikes/Prior Chip but let's be real, hazard removal is garb and you've probs got them up as well as the fact that Venu doesn't KO you back with Sludge Bomb, so unless it poisons you and gets a roll, you still beat it 1v1. I've emboldened Hyper Beam because if you've lost your Lele, you can still do a fair bit of damage to Venu with +2 Breakneck Blitz.

Pack a Koko on your team and you've got yourself a way around Steela too (ish) but run Leech Seed if you're doing that

252 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 25-30 (6.8 - 8.2%) -- possibly the worst move ever
+2 252 SpA Serperior Psychic vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega in Psychic Terrain: 280-330 (77.1 - 90.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Hey guys, I just wanna point out that lures for this thread should be viable sets. Shit like Charge Beam Psychium Zapdos and Flyinium Z Bounce Keldeo seems fun as a lure, but they frankly are really subpar sets for general use.
+ Psychic Terrain
Diancie @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 8 Atk / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Hidden Power Fire
- Psychic

Psychic Mega Diancie is a really neat lure for Mega Venusaur that I really enjoy using, when it's paired with Tapu Lele. Mega Venusaur is usually a fantastic switch in for Mega Diancie, avoiding even a 2HKO after Stealth Rock from all of its moves. However, Psychic Terrain boosted Psychic allows Mega Diancie to blow past Mega Venusaur in order to clear the way for teammates to break through the opposing team while still hitting significant targets like Toxapex and friends. Don't use this without Psychic Terrain support because it literally fails to 2HKO Mega Venu without hazard support please.

252 SpA Diancie-Mega Psychic vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega in Psychic Terrain: 236-278 (65 - 76.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Extrasensory Greninja-Ash (Yes, I know psychium z protean gren was done, but this has less opportunity cost)

Greninja-Ash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Water Shuriken
- Extrasensory

(calcs are for pre-transformed greninja, and post-transformed venusaur)
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Extrasensory vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 152-180 (41.8 - 49.5%) -- 87.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Extrasensory vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 242-286 (74.9 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Sometimes, you already have the spikes role settled and you already deal with tangrowth/bulu adequately enough. People may elect to just use U-turn, but honestly you would rather just double switch where you'd want to U-turn and situations where U-turn is better on Ash Gren are exceedingly rare. Why not ease a keldeo or venusaur matchup instead, while not incurring the cost of your z-crystal?

Hitting venusaur or keldeo once on the switch with esense will ensure that it cannot switch into dark pulse the next time, easing the search for opportunities to transform.

Rather simple lure, but it's the low opportunity cost that makes this lure set valuable unlike other posted sets that rely on team support, or destroy what makes the pokemon good.

Yeah this is more a "general" TTar week; a lot of TTar sets get lured by the same kinds of things, so it makes sense to just kinda group them together rather than listing a generic set; that and I can't see AV Tar realistically retaining relevance now that Naganadel's gone.

Latios @ Latiosite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive / Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psychic
- Earthquake
- Roost

This is a known set that has recently risen in popularity, but since most (if not all) players will think Latios is Scarf or vanilla offensive on preview, M-Latios is still an effective Ttar lure. Basically, Latios screams Ttar switch-in, but once M-Latios is revealed on said switch, Earthquake (or Draco Meteor + Earthquake) can 2HKO CB Ttar and 3HKO support M-Ttar.

This set also lures some of Latios' would-be switch-ins/checks like Heatran, Magearna and Magnezone with Earthquake. In some situations, it'd be preferable to not immediately Mega to bluff a Scarf/offensive set, which greatly improves M-Latios' efficiency and viability as a lure.
Against CB Ttar
252 SpA Latios-Mega Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 165-195 (48.3 - 57.1%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO
4 Atk Latios-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 168-198 (49.2 - 58%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO

Against support M-Ttar
252 SpA Latios-Mega Draco Meteor vs. 168 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar-Mega in Sand: 142-168 (37 - 43.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
4 Atk Latios-Mega Earthquake vs. 168 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 128-152 (33.4 - 39.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Against Sub Heatran
4 Atk Latios-Mega Earthquake vs. 212 HP / 44 Def Heatran: 332-392 (88.2 - 104.2%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO (guaranteed after SR)

Against AV Magearna
4 Atk Latios-Mega Earthquake vs. 200 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 160-190 (45.5 - 54.1%) -- 46.9% chance to 2HKO (94.1% chance to OHKO after SR)

Against AV Magnezone
4 Atk Latios-Mega Earthquake vs. 136 HP / 0 Def Magnezone: 320-380 (101.5 - 120.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO (even if AV Magnezone has fallen out of flavor as of late, I chose this set in my calc simply because it was the bulkiest one and the most efficient Latios switch-in among its best variants)
