Simple + No Retreat Lunala distinguishes itself from Arceus-Ghost by having STAB-boosted Stored Power and high HP, allowing it to effectively dispatch of Arceus-Ghost's checks. After No Retreat, Stored Power reaches 220 Base Power, heavily threatening special walls like Mega Audino and Arceus formes. Final Gambit dispatches of hard walls like Yveltal, Meloetta, and Ice Scales Mega Audino, paving the way for teammates to sweep. Due to this, Lunala pairs extremely well with other Ghost-types, most notably Arceus-Ghost but also Flutter Mane and the niche Necrozma-DW. While a boosted Lunala can 2HKO most special walls, it never OHKOes them without heavy chip damage and gets forced out by Topsy-Turvy if it misses any KO, making entry hazard support and teammates such as Thunder Cage users very helpful. A healthy Ash-Greninja can force Lunala to use Final Gambit on it rather than the special walls, so walls like Fur Coat Audino with Rocky Helmet act as good teammates. Lunala usually Imposter-proofs itself due to Spooky Plate, but it is recommended to have a backup Imposter-proofer like Yveltal or Meloetta in case Lunala is in KO range of Stored Power or the opposing Imposter is holding a Spooky Plate.

Simple + No Retreat Lunala distinguishes itself from Arceus-Ghost by having access to STAB Psychic-type moves and a high HP stat to effectively use Final Gambit, allowing it to bypass many checks to No Retreat Arceus-Ghost STAB-boosted Stored Power and high HP, allowing it to effectively dispatch Arceus-Ghost's checks. After No Retreat, Stored Power reaches 220 BP, heavily threatening special walls like Mega Audino and Arceus formes. Psystrike is a niche alternative that OHKOs Magic Guard Blissey after a boost. you never run this Final Gambit dispatches hard walls like Yveltal, (ac) Mega Audino, (ac) and Meloetta, paving the way for teammates to sweep. While a boosted Lunala can 2HKO most special walls, it can struggle to OHKO them without prior chip damage never OHKOes without heavy chip and gets forced out with Topsy-Turvy if it misses any KO, making entry hazard support and teammates such as Thunder Cage users very helpful.
