Project RU Teambuilding Factory - The Return (Now on USM!)

Salutations, RU Teambuilding gods.
Today, this peasant would like to request a balanced team w/ Rock Polish Metagross
so I can try to sweep people like I'm Mr. White even though this ain't a Lando.

The main reasons I'd love to use it are:
1) Metagross is a top tier in RU.

2) Rock Polish is one of my favorite moves in the game.

The first set I thought of is this one:
Mr. White (Metagross) @ Electrium Z
Ability: Clear Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
- Rock Polish

- Gigavolt Havoc OHKO's offensive MBlastoise after rocks: 252+ Atk Metagross Gigavolt Havoc (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Blastoise-Mega: 294-346 (98.3 - 115.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock.
- It deals some serious damage to Milotic:
252+ Atk Metagross Gigavolt Havoc (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Milotic: 288-340 (73 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (and that's not accounting a possible Attack raise from Meteor Mash)
- Obliterates Araquanid:
252+ Atk Metagross Gigavolt Havoc (140 BP) vs. 96 HP / 0 Def Araquanid: 370-436 (122.9 - 144.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
- Deals a lot of damage to even Cloyster w/ no Defense drops:
252+ Atk Metagross Gigavolt Havoc (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 206-244 (85.4 - 101.2%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO.

Not sure if those calcs are relevant. I posted them because those were the main reasons behing me running Gigavolt Havoc. However, I'm not really too familiar with the meta. I was also thinking of running Ice Punch, but ZyDog after a DD and Scarf Flygon both outspeed +2 Speed Metagross)

Feel free to change this set as you wish (EVs, moves and such) However, I would love to keep Rock Polish on it (even though it might not be the best Metagross set)

Requesting a team built around this core.

sceptile-mega.gif

Sceptile-Mega @ Sceptilite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Protect
- Leech Seed

M-Sceptile is amazing because of that speed which outpaces many common Scarfers. Combine that with a 145 SpA stat. You basically always have to switch in your steel type. Speaking of, Steel Types are really annoying for it.

milotic.gif

Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Recover
- Haze
- Refresh

Which is where Milotic comes in and walls them. It has no real way to punish the Electrics so M-Sceptile is a amazing partner for it.

Agiligross is a bitch to build around cuz honestly the set seems like dogshit LOL, but speed-boosting moves are really fun to play with so it was fun to build this team. I went for an offensive build with a bit of hazard stacking with queen for rocks and spikes goli. Tyrantrum clicks heads to soften up everything, blastoise so u dont auto-lose to webs like i did a few times when testing the team (had msceptile before replacing it with stoise), and hariyama to check random threats like salazzle and opposing queen and stoise.

some changes you can do is put a scarfer somewhere, might make things a lot easier. or fitting fake out on hariyama for fake out + bullet punch, between that and first impression u can get most revenge kills but a scarfer would be a lot more guaranteed. Also, you can use adamant metagross but u miss out on scarf flygon and anything faster. insect plate for a stronger first impression can work too but sitrus can give u an extra spike before being forced out

i'm not a qualified builder but i've had this team for ages (since u posted the request) and didn't post it cuz it had 0 ground resists. it still has 0 ground resists but u've been left hanging so i thought i'd post it :[ maybe replacing hariyama with noivern can fix that problem but it'd probably create more problems too

banded passimian helps to wallbreak for mega sceptile, which has problems dealing with stuff such as registeel and curse snorlax. qd ribombee provides an offensive fighting check and a late game sweeper that can clear up after coming in on scarf flygon earthquake for example. registeel for rocks and offers a switch-in for scarf psychics and other special attackers. lastly, finished up with xatu for hazard control and a secondary fighting check.

hope you enjoy the team!

I think this is called VinKou? I'm by no means a bad builder but I'm not as great with niche wincons. I have an OK team with this on it but I know there's some mons like Nidoqueen that can just take on the whole team. If anyone can bring something to light for me and show me a better all-around team that has sufficient checks to the meta, and enough offensive presence to afford Kou some win opportunities without just losing to ground and poison that'd be pretty cool.

Sorry for taking that long but I came to the realization that Mono Electric Raikou sucks ASS. So went with a CM Protect since it has good uses. Paired it with Dragalge for the toxic spikes since that alongside Raikou is good. Milotic with competitive can be mildly scary and acts as a defog deterrent. Dhelmise is important for trapping opposing regis which can be crucial for Raikou functionality. Registeel + Scarf Flygon are just excellent compliments to complete a team. Sorry again for taking ages so hopefully it isnt too late.

Have other versions that are rather heat on the works (one of them had a SD Shuca Drapion with Toxic Spikes Cofagrigus) so let me know if you have some interest on one of those but for now I had to post something.

Cheers!

Hey everyone,

since fighting-types are huge at RU right now, I want to take a further look into Medicham. It has a nice offensive typing and i can see this thing
of being capable to break through teams with its good ability in pure power. I just struggle to build around it, as I don't know how I can manage to build an offensive team / a team with a rather offensive approach, which can still check things here and there via some backbones.

The set I wanna use is the following:

:sm/Medicham:
Medicham @ Life Orb
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Zen Headbutt
- Thunder Punch / Ice Punch
- Bullet Punch / Ice Punch

I don't know if this is - based on the team - a good option to give Medicham Ice Punch instad of Thunder Punch or Bullet Punch, that is why these moves are slashed.

If someone here has an idea for a team around this interesting Pokémon I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance. :]

Hello there,

i've always regarded mega-banette as a really interesting mon, since it learns some moves that seem good in theory but never quite work otherwise.
If anyone either manages to build a usable set around one of the two following moves or comes up with a completely original set and then puts together a somewhat coherent team to support it, they've earned my respect.

Banette-Mega @ Banettite
Ability: Prankster
IVs: ?
- Cotton Guard / Curse
- ?

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Metagross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Zen Headbutt
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake

Ninetales @ Firium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Big Pecks
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Def / 164 Spe
Impish Nature

An alternative you can try if Mega Toise is a little too hard to face is by running diancie over rhyp and defog flygon over mandi. Anyways, medicham + sun offense. Protect to avoid the first impression and damage it back safely, can be cool for scouting. You can select between thunder punch and zen headbutt. Ninetales + Venusaur is standard. Scarf Metagross works well with Sun for surprise factor and for additional speed control. Any issues let me know

Angrydactyl that mega banette set is unviable, but we can try to do a team with mega banette but isnt gonna be this set, let me know if still interested.

Cheers!

Thank you sooo much for the team. It looks super-amazing and thank you for the advice in case Mega-Blastoise might become a lil too overwhelming! :]
