Other Metagames Team Dump

MAMP

MAMP!
Gen 6 is coming to a close, so as a memento here's a dump of my favourite bh squads ive built this generation, going back to around the start of oras (unfortunately I lost all of my earlier squads when my old laptop died ://)

this team was, as far as im aware, the birthplace of the spooky plate protean m2y set that would later come to dominate the meta. i made a lot of ho teams like this around this time, multiple anti-imposter sweepers/wallbreakers generally with at least one focus sash + prankster steel + shed or imposter -- a really effective ho scaffold that completely shat upon most ladder squads but often struggled against well constructed defensive teams.

a variant of the above. this one has lucky punch chansey, a set i really liked at the time for the way that it could 1v1 pogre sometimes and also break through the opponents anti-imposters if you got lucky with crits.

probably the most effective team i built in the pdon era. illusion pdon lured in almost all of mdiancies switchins and shredded them with either of its stabs, leaving them open to be cleaned up by mdiancie late game. this defensive core of giratina + steel + chansey is one that i used on nearly every team that i built around this time, it was just so effective at checking the dominant threats of the era that it was kinda difficult to justify not using.

not a lot to say about this one, just a really strong bulky offense squad that i had a lot of success with. the core of protean ray + fridge m2x was particularly effective at luring stuff and breaking down fat teams, and ph qd pogre just tore shit apart

a team that i brought vs flint in the first round of ompl 3. another example of that diancie+pdon core i was talking about, they form a phenomenal voltturn core thats almost impossible to handle defensively and which is able to keep up momentum like nothing else.

this could be my favourite of all the bh teams ive ever built. i made this to test a theory: that all a team needed to be successful was to be able to beat the 'big 5': pdon, pogre, protean m2y, aerilate ray, pixilate mdiancie. i went 35-0 on the ladder with this so i guess the theory was correct lol. magic bounce tentacruel smacks pogre (and does ok against mdiancie), primsea gourgeist walls pdon, fc chansey (a kinda gimmicky choice at the time that since became a staple) takes on protean and -ate, mampharos beats mray and checks pogre, and msteelix is a general -ate check. i tacked protean m2y on the end because the team needed some offensive presence.

really effective offense team with offensive prankster mgyara, a really rad set that really messes with all sorts of team styles. people tend to not expect the prankster spore or destiny bond from gyara and you can get a ton of utility just from the surprise factor, dropping spores on m2y or whatever that thought they could just outspeed and ko. spore pairs well with knock off too seeing as so many of mgyaras counters often rely on safety goggles to dodge spores.

i copied this tinted lens mlati set directly from flint and its a very scary wallbreaker, almost nothing can switch safely into draco meteor and most of what can gets messed up by psystrike. cc mega ray helps it out by luring in ttar, which is one of the best checks to mlati, then i just put 3 fat mons and imposter bc u can never go wrong with that

i generally dont like using shedinja, but i saw someone using this really cool shedinja + yveltal core and i really wanted to try it out so here we are. basically, mold breaker yvel makes a good partner for shed for two reasons: firstly, it traps opposing shedinjas so that i can rely on shed to anti-imposter diancie without having to worry about opposing shedinja walling it, and second, it can pursuit trap lots of common mold breaker pursuit mons, particularly mega gengar, which gives shedinja an opportunity to ravage teams that are reliant on mold breaker to deal with it. rly fun squad overall, also has tail glow protean m2y which is a baller

inspired by some post in the creative sets thread, dont remember who it was soz :// this sceptile set is actually pretty cool, hits really hard and has fantastic speed -- unfortunately it has shit for bulk so if its not ohkoing things its probably gonna die. if u can pass a sub to sceptile some offense teams just lose which is a lot of fun. this team has issues with fat steel types so try running coverage on diancie or something

built this to vs it11 in bh open semis. taunt + leech seed on contrary m2x lets it beat a lot of its usual checks and counters, and between that and cc ray this team put heaps of pressure on the kinds of defensive cores that were popular at the time. i was very fortunate when i used this against it11 bc his only ray check was ttar so i got like 5 kills with ray lol

fun fact this whole squad is hard walled by ff aegi

built this around the core of sludge bomb mgar + tail glow protean m2y, which are a really great offensive core and which do a fantastic job at luring in each others checks and counters. this was the other team that i used vs it11, and i won after m2y took out all three of his dedicated protean counters, which was what convinced me once and for all that protean was broken lol

probably the most successful team i made in the protean era, and the team that i think really brought out the full potential of adapt scarf chomp (aka the greatest set in the history of bh). i won a bunch of bh open games with it, including a couple in the finals, topped the ladder with it, at least two people used it to get voting reqs for the protean suspect, and level 51 won with it in the first round of omgs playoffs. the team is rock solid defensively, is able to apply a ton of offensive pressure, has two fantastic revenge killers making it very difficult to sweep, and was generally really well prepared for the metagame at the time

i made this team for funsies but its actually really good lol :0 ph don and pdon weaken each others checks and are just generally really difficult for most teams to deal with. ph don is a really cool dude in general, creams a lot of fat teams and is really difficult to rkill once its got boosts bc of its gr8 defense. the team is also really solid defensively, tho techno blast -ate is a huge issue. the team struggles against shed bc i couldnt find room for sr, but you can get around it if you predict good. unaware tina heart swapping impostered pdons boosts and passing them to ph don is actually so much fun

an experiment with baton pass. its not very good tbqh, there are just too many common things that this team struggles against: imposter, prankster topsy/parting shot/taunt/encore, heavy hitting wallbreakers, so on. its super matchup reliant, you basically either win from team preview or you just lose, but when it does work its a ton of fun

built this to vs nyan kat in r1 of ompl this year bc he tended to run fat teams that relied on tina to beat pdon -- the idea is to use scrappy boom gigas to lure in and ko tina (boom ohkos every non-fc tina set after rocks), and then sweep with pdon, which is exactly what ended up happening. the anti-imposter defensive core of fc tina + bounce ttar is really neat too, both anti-imposter the other and sometimes u get free spikes when they try to set them up with impostered tina

an attempt at rain offense. swift swim palkia under rain is nearly unstoppable, tho i have to run jank like ferro to beat imposter :// mchomp serves as a backup sweeper and its really dangerous too, tho not as much as palk. what i like about those two as swift swimmers is that both of them beat pdon, which really messes with rain teams otherwise. lunar dance on ferro is really cool to give one of the swift swimmers another chance. this team struggles against -ate and shed a lot tho, and prankster gives me a bit of a hard time too

This is the team that I use on ladder mainly. prank rayquaza is really cool and kinda just shits on a lot of teams. it's p much shut down by steels so I went with the ca$h set magnet pull don. don just comes in and uses a lot of steels for setup fodder as long as they don't have phasing. boom diancie is another cash set that kinda just dunks on most soundproof mons and in general is just a nuke. deo speed is literally just there for sheddy cuz this is a ladder squad. Regis is there for imposter and chansey is mandatory. Everything that can is holding goggles cause spore is broken.

Edit: by boom I mean explosion

Since the generation is coming to a close, and since the only team for Type Reflectors is an awful (if incredibly fun) Assist team, I'll share two teams for you, both for underrepresented metas.

This team's built around the power that is Dragon Mega Charizard-Y, which nukes just about anything. Kyruem is the other half of the offensive core, and is every bit as brutal, destroying pretty much everything Charizard can't destroy itself. The rest of the team serves as a defensive core that isn't completely passive; Salamence is an incredibly bulky defogger, and easily takes on any Mega Lopunny that lacks Ice Punch. Granbull is there as a Dragon counter, and serves as my cleric and another intimidator. Jirachi is there to keep the team healthy, and is a great pivot with a great defensive typing. Dragalge is this team's Fairy and Gengar counter, handling both with ease. And yes, that is banded Earth Power. It hits Steel Weezing harder, who is otherwise a free switch into Kyruem. Only Ghoul King's incredible Ghost stall team can really stall out the powerful attackers of this.

Now for an unorthodox Inverse team that can hold its own against some of the titans.

I honestly expected this team to be pretty bad. But it's actually really solid, only lacking a physical Normal switch-in. Mega Sceptile in particular is a fantastic sweeper, and resists anything Mega Beedrill can do. Beware of water-types, though. When you remove any Chanseys and Proygon2 from the fray (pretty simple with good Rhydon, Articuno, and Espeon usage), the rest of their team usually can't handle a combination of Sceptile and Exploud, which are both very powerful.

Chloe's ORAS Anything Goes Team Dump
These are my most successful teams over the previous 20 months within Anything Goes. As the final competitive AG tournament remaining for this generation has ended, I find it unnecessary to keep these to myself anymore. Some of these have been previous sample teams, others RMTs; however, I'd like to have these all stored in one place as a resource for anyone who might enjoy it. Feel free to steal these and use to your heart's content. I've posted these in chronological order. Click on the images to access the pastebins.

Time Period: April 2015 - June 2015
Playstyle: Bulky Offense
Irregular Sets: Terrakion, Ingrain Geomancy Xerneas

Phoenix was a team of firsts to say the least. The first team I built properly (sans Aron & Manaphy), the first time I used Ho-Oh, the first RMT I ever made, the first time I peaked the AG ladder, the first time I learned to use EVs properly. When building this team, I had very limited understanding of competitive Pokémon, as you can probably see if you look at the team properly. It has one Xerneas check, nothing for Kyogre, nothing for V-create Rayquaza, an awkward Defogger to provide support for Ho-Oh. Also I've made random adjustments to it since I built it to try and make it more viable, like Life Orb > Lum Berry on Ho-Oh, fixed Xerneas EVs, fixed Ho-Oh EVs. It's quite an effective team if your opponent doesn't have the omnipresent threats within the metagame.
vs Curve
vs Schatten
vs Hunter (modified)

Time Period: July 2015 - August 2015
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Defensive Scarf Xern
Helped by: parivard

Iron was an amendment to Phoenix that I made directly after I posted the RMT. It featured an answer for Kyogre, as well as a rough Xerneas check in Ferrothorn, as well as changing the Normal Arceus to Ground Arceus, when parivard suggested it to me in a battle one day. I was quite Primal Groudon weak, so the Ground Arceus did really help. Having two Defoggers was also nice, as Skarmory wasn't the most solid option. Defensive Scarf Xerneas allowed for a more solid answer to Darkrai as well as an answer to V-Create Rayquaza. This was a much more solid attempt, but it was still weak to Geomancy Xerneas among other things. thelinearcurve & HunterStorm both decided now would be a good time to run Overheat on their Extreme Killer Arceus. Fun indeed.
vs Hunter
vs flowre (modified)

Time Period: August 2015 - Present
Playstyle: Bulky Offense
Irregular Sets: NIL

This was the team I initially ran Specs Mega Rayquaza on; however, over time I decided Banded Ray was a better fit for this team. Not much to say about this team. This was my third team to peak; however, the second team was quite poor and based around Landorus Semi-Stall, so you understand why I didn't include it. This was my attempt at Offense at the time, but as you can see it isn't that offensive.
vs Curve (modified)

Time Period: September 2015 - August 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Choice Specs Mega Rayquaza, it's an irregular team in general.

Ha, I love this team. Carried me to so many victories even though it's so poorly built. When you have to run Steel Wing Yveltal just to deal with Diancie you know it poses a threat. And it's not like that's the only threat, but the good thing about this team is it really doesn't care. Everything can be dealt with. Specs Mega Rayquaza breaks anything and Ho-Oh takes care of everything it can't OHKO (Fairyceus, Xerneas, Lugia). The rest is just support for these mons to do their job successfully. Obligatory Genesect because I needed to pivot between things and lacked sufficient Darkrai check (Banded Ho-Oh is just not good enough of a Rai check). I feel like this was my 5th team to peak, I might be wrong though. Kinda started becoming shtty since I revealed it to everyone, so I don't use it anymore.
vs Hunter
vs DoW

Time Period: September 2015 - Present
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Assault Vest Amoonguss
Helped by: GunnerRohan

I have a description of this team and everything here: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/kinoko.3551536/ but I made slight adjustments like Fairyceus to superior set, PDon to better set, I think I changed Ho-Oh too but I'm honestly not bothered to check too, sorry. This is one of the teams I've built that actually works regardless of matchup. Unless Zapdos Lead BP and you get predict wrong, then ur fkd and I can't help you. Initially had a Kyurem-Black but Gunner suggested the Amoonguss. Even though I'm credited for the Amoonguss thing, Gunner's the one who actually made me use it in the first place.
vs Curve
vs Transcendent God Champion

That's Offensive

Time Period: December 2015 - Present
Playstyle: Bulky Offense
Irregular Sets: NIL
Helped by: GunnerRohan, Megazard
vs Hunter
vs Cirdec (modified)

It was like 6PM the night of the final of the AG Minitour and I had nothing planned. I was kinda gonna bring BlissTina but my gut told me it was a bad team. Kinoko was also a possibility but I wasn't sure. I asked Gunner to help me out and he was incredibly helpful. Gave me the Jirachi set, which I replaced the Amoonguss on Kinoko with. This was the only change of the time; however, I replaced the Primal Groudon with a more solid Darkrai check in Xerneas and replaced Fairyceus with Rockceus so I had a decent answer to Ho-Oh. Rockceus came as a suggestion on my Kinoko RMT from Megazard. So basically this is just a modified Kinoko.

Time Period: June 2015 - March 2016
Playstyle: Bulky Offense
Irregular Sets: Ingrain GeoXern
Helped by: Daft Blaze (indirectly)

Shtty team that I RMT'd for god knows what reason. http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/enfin.3566534/ This team had so many variations over time. It was my 4th, 6th and 7th peak iirc. I wouldn't recommend anyone using this but apparently it works for some people so whatever. This is like: Balance with a Deoxys-S, it doesn't work trust me. If you take any team from this today, make sure it isn't this one. It sucks so much. I realised this before I made the RMT, but I just wanted to post it as soon as possible so didn't care. The reason I put it here in chronological order is because its old variations differed so much it could pretty much be called another team. Blaze helped with Deo-S set kinda.
vs Curve
vs Hunter

Time Period: Let's assume December 2015ish.
Playstyle: Offense
Irregular Sets: Substitute Disable Leftovers Offensive Yveltal

My first successful Mega Gengar team. This was where the two move Scarf Xerneas set originated from. Also the set we commonly refer to today as Qwer's PDon originated here too. When I first made this team I was quite crap at using it (I had no clue how to use Offense). Figured itself out though.

Back to Balance

Time Period: idk stop hounding me
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: NIL

I tried to incorporate Mega Gengar into Balance. This was a stepping stone in my AG playing. I keep forgetting to mention peaks but this was like my 11th and 12th time at number 1. (I'm counting these as when I fell out of the top 30 and regained #1 afterwards just so we're clear). As you can see there are quite a few similarities between this team and the last one; however, this is much more effective.

Time Period: February 2016
Playstyle: Bulky Offense / Balance
Irregular Sets: Thunder Wave Fairy Arceus?

This was kind of what I based my successful Megamons team off of. Paralysis spam, two hex users and enough fire power to break pretty much everything. Two Defoggers, Regenerator Stall between Ho-Ohs, easy as. Although this team didn't get many achievements in terms of laddering, it is quite an effective team and it's definitely one of my favourites to use.

Time Period: February 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Anticipation Ferrothorn

I still haven't played around with this team as much as I would've liked to; however, it definitely was good in the time I used it. Anticipation Ferrothorn might have been better on my "Iron" team to scout for Overheat Arceus and V-create Ray. Iron Barbs is probably superior here, but Anticipation definitely has its advantages.

Time Period: March 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: NIL

This is my only Balance squad with Darkrai, and that's for good reason. Darkrai doesn't appreciate the mix of statuses I generally tend to run such as Toxic/Will-O-Wisp Support Arceus formes, Thunder Wave Ho-Oh, e.t.c. While some of these statuses still exist on this team, Darkrai doesn't have many problems operating. This team initially had Banded Infiltrator U-turn/Sleep Talk Ninjask to check Darkrai; however, I found that too many people had experienced the team and I couldn't pull off the easy Darkrai OHKOs like I wanted to. Hence I replaced it with Mega Diancie.

Hyperactivity

Time Period: March 2016 (inaccurate guess)
Playstyle: Hyper Offense
Irregular Sets: Choice Scarf Mewtwo
Helped by: baconbagon (Mewtwo set)

I then tried to run Darkrai in a more optimal environment, aka Hyper Offense, where it worked much more efficiently. No longer was I worried about the multiple status users on my team inflicting a status ailment on my opponent that would be detrimental in the long run. Scarf Mewtwo was kind of an experiment, to see if having such a prominent fast attacker could benefit the team, in which it did. It was especially fun to see users getting all happy when they thought their GeoXern swept. Ah fun times.

Time Period: April 2016
Playstyle: Hyper Offense
Irregular Sets: Shadow Ball Giratina-O

Continued playing Hyper Offense as it seemed most effective at the time. Tried to build with Mega Mewtwo Y and was I impressed with the results. I hadn't had a mega planned for the teambuild, but I did have a LO Mewtwo there and an emerging Darkrai weakness. Hence I decided to try MMY.
vs Pigeons

Time Period: April 2016
Playstyle: Hyper Offense
Irregular Sets: NIL

Regular Groudon HO. This is essentially the closest thing I'd ever built to a Curve looking team. I also tried CM Steelceus for the first time, and I began to understand why people ran it on Hyper Offense. This is so standard, I can't begin to describe it to you. It's quite effective but weak to Kyogre. When I give this out to people I usually replace Groudon with Primal, and give them the Primal Groudon from Sleepless. AKA the set Megaqwer runs on every team even though I began running it :v
vs Curve
vs Team Rocket Science

Time Period: May 2016
Playstyle: Hyper Offense
Irregular Sets: Swagger Darkrai

This is my attempt at a Screens HO team. Again not much to say, except Darkrai. That Darkrai set is as good as you're going to get in this metagame. "If I wake up now, I have to hit through confusion and then break the Substitute". It's incredibly hard to break without Substitute Klefki or Mega Diancie.
vs Curve
vs Hunter

The Odes of September

Time Period: September 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Iron Head Skarmory, Defensive Choice Scarf Xerneas

This is quite a solid attempt and my last attempt at Ho-Oh / Skarmory Balance, using the famous Ubers core of Ho-Oh + Primal Groudon + Arceus-Water. Xerneas is bulky to absorb Choice Banded Dragon Ascents if need be. I'm having trouble explaining things because I'm exhausted writing up stuff. Try it out!

Time Period: September 2016 (same day as Origins)
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: NIL

I tried to fit MMY on Balance, and it happened to work out in my favour. Had to give it extra back up for Darkrai just in case, so I changed the Ho-Oh set. Made myself incredibly resistant to Mega Rayquaza. There isn't anything this team should have an issue with other than like Calm Mind Rock Arceus, and even then that can be played around.
vs Yolocat (I think it's Yolocat, he plays the same way anyway)

Time Period: September 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Alomomola, Perish Trap Mega Gengar

Tried to create a decent Mega Gengar PerishTrap team, with the added support of WishPass Alomomola to get its health back and play defensively when need be. This team works wonders against almost any playstyle; however, as I experienced the hard way, you do need to concentrate and take a minimal amount of risks. Play safe kids.
vs Thimo
vs Catalystic

New York Trio

Time Period: 3rd November 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Recover Extreme Killer Arceus

I decided to throw all limitations I had previously set on myself when building Balance out the window. Instead of worrying about having a mega or not using EKiller on Balance (even though I did on Lapin), I focused on just making a good Balance team. Unfortunately, this team is quite passive and struggles to break stall, hence it is more suited for a ladder based environment or against opponents not named Hunter, Thimo, Sage or Fardin. Recover EKiller is actually surprisingly decent and untested within AG, especially on Balance when the lack of priority is sometimes incredibly detrimental.

Time Period: 3rd November 2016
Playstyle: Bulky Offense / Balance
Irregular Sets: Cloyster, Recover Extreme Killer Arceus

While I wouldn't usually run Cloyster on anything but HO, I saw that in the Ubers analysis it said it paired well with Ho-Oh. :D. This team is quite simple. Just send out Cloyster first unless something they have ultimately threatens it from Turn 1 (like Taunt Deo-S). Then proceed to attack and stuff. Simples.

Time Period: 3rd November 2016
Playstyle: Balance
Irregular Sets: Leftovers Wobbuffet, Whirpool Dark Arceus

This is the final team I built for Generation 6 Anything Goes. It's more of a stall check than anything, but I have found it useful against plenty of team archetypes. It shouldn't have any concerning issues with anything bar like Specs Rayquaza, but who runs that bar me. Also Ho-Oh, fk.

~

Thanks to every single user that made Generation 6 Anything Goes such a wonderful community and entertaining experience. I was going to do shoutouts but I realised there's way too many people to even call that a possibility so I'll just tag Thimo thrice.
Thimo Thimo Thimo

Thank you everyone. <3

P.S. I realised after I did this whole thing I left my speed creep on every mon. Don't attempt to bother outcreeping me next gen, thanks.

Since past-generation Other Metagames are not a thing, and Pokémon Sun and Moon are almost out, I guess I'll post some of my teams for Anything Goes and Balanced Hackmons:

By far my best and most consistent Anything Goes team ever. This team actually functions in a very similar manner to my ORAS Ubers team, Gaia☯Force, and it even contains four Pokémon (Clefable, Tentacruel, Lugia and Giratina) with the exact same movesets. The aim of this team is exactly the same as that team - wall the opponent's Pokémon while wearing them down with a combination of burn and poison. It is an extremely safe team which hard-counters (as opposed to soft-checking) many prominent offensive threats in the Anything Goes metagame, including Extreme Killer Arceus, Geomancy Xerneas and Darkrai, meaning it is extremely resilient to hax. Toxic Spikes put an instant time limit on the lives of many offensive Pokémon, enabling them to be easily stalled to death, especially by Clefable and Substitute Lugia.

Arceus-Steel serves as a switch-in to the Dragon Ascent of Choice Band Mega Rayquaza, arguably the single best stall-breaker in the metagame, while at the same time countering Mega Diancie, which otherwise gives this team a lot of trouble.

The Twin Gods

Diancie @ Diancite

Lugia @ Leftovers

Arceus @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Defog
- Extreme Speed
- Recover
- Toxic

A team built around Moody Glalie. By my own admission, it is an extremely inconsistent team, as victory with this team is dependent on both team matchups as well as RNG, as expected of a Moody team. As such, this team is unlikely to peak the ladder any time soon. However, while 天下無敵 may be my main and best Anything Goes team, I keep The Twin Gods in the back for one purpose: for use against people who I expect to counter-team me. This is because Moody Glalie, from my experience, has a good matchup against things that fare well against my stall team, such as Mega Gengar and Sludge Bomb Darkrai.

The aim of this team is to try to safely set up a Substitute with one of the two Glalie before stalling with a combination of Protect and Substitute while acquiring stat boosts with Moody. After the Ice-type Pokémon has its stats raised high enough, it can sweep with Frost Breath. Taunt is there to prevent opposing Pokémon from eliminating Glalie's hard-earned stat boosts with Roar, Whirlwind or Perish Song, while at the same time preventing Glalie from being Taunted as well.

The combination of Mega Diancie and Lum Berry Arceus prevents the extremely common Darkrai from running over this team by coming in before Glalie sets up, while Lugia is the obligatory counter to Extreme Killer Arceus and Mega Rayquaza, which Glalie has a lot of trouble setting up against due to their access to Extreme Speed. Smeargle's Toxic Spikes synergize extremely well with the fact that Glalie will be spending a significant amount of most matches stalling with Substitute and Protect, as well as the fact that it knows Taunt to stop Defog. Its Nuzzle combined with Lugia's Thunder Wave turns many Pokémon into easy set-up bait for Glalie, which can take advantage of the opponent's Pokémon's lowered Speed combined with its 25% chance of being fully paralyzed to set up a free Substitute. Finally, this team has double entry hazard removal for two reasons. The first is because this team has three Stealth Rock-weak Pokémon, and the second is because Rapid Spin's ability to remove entry hazards from only its own side of the field is important, since this team has two entry hazards.

A modified version of a team given to me by dusk raimon. Its aim is to blast down the opponent's walls and defenses with its twin cannons - Choice Band Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza and Choice Specs Aerilate Mega Rayquaza. The former is Imposter-proofed by Aegislash, while the latter is Imposter-proofed by this team's own Chansey (which does not transform upon switching into an opposing Imposter). Unaware Arceus protects this team from Tail Glow Mega Rayquaza and Poison Heal set-up sweepers, while being able to threaten the latter with Gastro Acid. Toxic Spikes put a time limit on the lives of many Pokémon in the metagame, including Mega Diancie, both Mega Mewtwo forms, Kyurem Formes, and more. Whirlwind is great for forcing random Pokémon on the opponent's team to be poisoned by Toxic Spikes before such an entry hazard is removed. For example, Arceus can set up Toxic Spikes, and then use Whirlwind on the next turn as the opponent switches to their Steel-type Defog user. Provided that Defog user does not have Magic Bounce, Whirlwind forces it out, while possibly poisoning another Pokémon in their team. Poison Heal Mega Tyranitar combats Shedinja in numerous ways and is a good Pokémon in general. And as for Imposter Chansey, while its value dramatically decreases the higher one climbs on the ladder, it is still nonetheless a major contributor to this team's consistent success, since it blanket checks many threats.

This was actually originally a team I made for Pokémon Online's Balanced Hackmons metagame, where Pokémon can have 252 EVs in every stat, where Protean is not banned, and where Arceus can be any type regardless of its item/Ability. This is my adaptation of that team for Pokémon Showdown!'s version of Balanced Hackmons. It is a balanced team with various defensive walls and revenge-killers. It relies mostly on a combination of entry hazards, Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza to break down the opponent's team. Mega Mewtwo X is Imposter-proofed by Giratina, while Mega Rayquaza is Imposter-proofed by Registeel.

This is the Pokémon Showdown!-adapted version of my Pokémon Online Balanced Hackmons RMT, The Master of the Universe [Transcendent Being of Power Mix]. It is another Toxic Spikes-reliant balanced team, with Shell Smash Megar Gengar as its primary win condition.

(And yes, for those who cannot figure it out, I love the move Toxic Spikes in Generation VI. Such an incredibly underrated move in every Generation VI metagame I have ever played)

Pretty neat POgre team that I built but didn't use much. CM POgre shits on a lot of teams, especially because nobody runs this much speed on POgre. Mega Scizor is cool because it can U-turn pivot into POgre when Ho-Oh or Groudon switch in, Pursuit is pretty nice for MGar, considering 1/3 of the team gets trapped by it (also if they're using Latios for whatever reason you trap that too). Lugia is awesome for checking Mega Ray, EKiller and other crap, Ice Beam is nice for chipping stuff faster. Clef checks Xerneas and Darkrai while providing Heal Bell+Wish support, Waterceus defogs and checks PDon+Ho-Oh and PDon is a backup Xern check and sets rocks. Ho-Oh is a little annoying, Darkrai is a huge threat as always and Skarm can be annoying too.

I originally built this for the AG tour but then things happened so yeah. This is mostly for counter-teaming Chloe and Fardin and is meh in most other matchups. MGar+Darkrai breaks most stall teams and is generally a cool core. Gengar has bulk so you can trap Diancie and Quag, not being able to tie with other Gengars sucks but you shouldn't do that anyways. Sub CM Rockceus is sick vs Ho-Oh + Rayquaza balance teams and also works well vs stall. Swagger+Stockpile Quagsire is god tier for checking EKiller, Steelceus and other shit and is practically indestructible after a few boosts, Double Team Klefki is obnoxious and is the team's only way of checking Darkrai and boosted Xerneas, Waterceus is just there to set rocks and check PDon. Darkrai + Mega Gengar gives this team a lot of trouble, Xerneas is a challenge as well.

Pretty boring but very effective balance team. Mixed Rayquaza is absolutely insane and smashes through most balance/stall teams that lack a Rockceus. Ho-Oh counters fairy-types and is generally a great mon, Substitute+Lum Berry gives it a better chance vs Darkrai and lets it demolish Klefki. Steelceus takes care of Diancie and is a very nice late game sweeper. Clefable checks Xerneas and Darkrai as usual, Encore is awesome and lets it screw with those Pokemon even more, as well as any other Pokemon that would try and take advantage of Clefable's passiveness. Bulkceus with Rocky Helmet checks physical attackers and sets rocks, Waterceus rounds off the team by checking PDon and defogging. Ho-Oh can be annoying with this team, as can Rayquaza so running Rockceus over Bulkceus works, but this does make PDon a really tough matchup. Darkrai is a threat too but it's always a threat because it's broken af.

Replays:

And that's all for this generation (everything else in my teambuilder is either trash or stuff Thimo and I built, might add some of that later if I feel like it). Like Chloe I left all my speed creeping in here so if you want to creep me in Gen 7 go ahead. Shoutout to the whole AG community for being awesome and making this generation an amazing experience!

Laxpras

One small yeet for man, one giant yeet for mankind
I'll hop on the bandwagon..

LaxLapras AAA Team Dump
In Chronological order (old teams first), meaning some of these beginning teams might be outdated but are likely still somewhat effective

A lot of my super old teams aren't even allowed anymore, this is probably starting ~6months ago

Zam Offense: http://pastebin.com/MLgAumW4

This team was based around Alakazam, a mon which I was surprised no one used since threats like SF Gengar and Thundurus are so popular. It is straight up better than Gengar IMO, and has the advantage on Thundurus of its speed, with the main draw of outspeeding Scarftar. Magpull Infernape takes out or at least weakens Steels that can wall Zam. TTar/Doublade/Skarm are a solid defensive backbone, Manaphy is broken. This was before I made PH Manaphy, so maybe that could replace Motor Drive, but there is an elec weakness.

Standard HO: http://pastebin.com/3f8NwvjB

This is my take on standard HO to run in AAA. Nothing much to say. One of my first Volcanion teams, which I guess is the only standard deviations from the norm here.

Ascending: Best AAA team made imotbh

Won every major battle its been in, topped ladder, yeah. Kinda outdated but w/e. See RMT in my sig.

Tyranitar + Latios Offense: http://pastebin.com/edJtWf3y

Grains of Salt made the point that this offensive core is pretty ridiculous. Anything that can switch into Latios Tyranitar Pursuit KOs then Latios can win. He was right, it makes a pretty solid team fairly easily.

Kyurem Offense (2 Versions): 1: http://pastebin.com/tN2bL31b

2: http://pastebin.com/ccNf3eTM

These are two teams I made to play around with Kyurem and also Honchcrow, which ended up becoming a lot more popular in AAA. The first version takes on more of the meta, the second version was made more as a CT to Rozes's offensive builds in OMPL, and it won very easily.

KlingKlang??: http://hastebin.com/eqekamuxal.diff

I got cocky and decided to build a KlingKlang team to OMPL.... I ended up winning the match with KlingKlang oops. It originally had Virizion, but when Cune got banned I changed it to Zyggy, Viriz might still be better to help the Manaphy matchup.

Greninja Offense: http://pastebin.com/5NUAkBj5

Greninja is a really good, underused mon in AAA. Its speed is insane and it hits really hard. Low Kick even does decent damage to Chansey. Desoland Raikou is also fun and pairs well with Gren.

Trick Room:http://pastebin.com/3SAynsBt

Really fun, really good team that also won me an OMPL game. TR is never used in AAA (For a good reason, priority and protect are everywhere, TR not that good in general). That said, this team works really well for some reason. Diancie is an awesome lead with explosion, Hoopa is a clutch TR setter with MGuard Sash, and usually gets a KO with DBond. Dnite worked better over Mence with Espeed, but it got banned. Mence is there to get a KO out of TR if needed. I just won an AAA tour with this as I'm writing this lol. Maybe my fav team I've built.

Deo-S Honchcrow: http://pastebin.com/mehQ3GLW

A team I built to CT Kl4ng in OMPL, but didn't end up using it. I did peak ladder with it though. It uses Deo-S Hazard stack + Honchrow to win vs most teams. Gyarados was more helpful when Cune was everywhere, but can still be useful.

Meme Dreams: http://hastebin.com/eborobuxaz.diff (Lol Pastebin suspended me for too many pastes)

Another team that peaked ladder, utilizing certified Laxpras memes. See RMT in sig.

Ferro + Support: http://hastebin.com/ilojemacof.diff

I went on a Ferro spree and built set-up ferro teams for a bunch of different OMs, idk why. This team actually came out fairly well, mostly in spite of Ferro. Dugtrio is surprisingly useful and helps Ferro out a lot, and Ferro can do damage to unsuspecting foes

BirdBirdBirdBirdBirdBird: http://hastebin.com/pahejiguza.diff

I made a team of 6 birds and peaked to #4 with it.

Broccoli: http://hastebin.com/zibayequce.diff

Another team I used to retake ladder peak. Uses Entei + Volcanion to pretty much overwhelm any defensive core. They're amazing together, especially with Chomp in the back ready to sweep.

omg im getting tired of doing this

PH Sylveon: http://hastebin.com/vayojefize.diff

Just putting PH on random mons bc its a broken ability and it still makes for really solid teams. Aerilate Mence hits like a truck, Magpull Tran helps both of those two threats.

Noivern Offense: http://hastebin.com/jugoledewe.diff

dusk raimon wanted to build a Noivern team so I built this for with him. The team came out really good, I repeaked ladder with it, and it brought Raimon to the top of AAA as well. Not a surprise since Noivern is broken, and my manaphy set is broken.

Standard Laxpras team: http://hastebin.com/bahotuneri.diff

Manaphy? Check. Diancie? Check. Zapdos? Check.
And then Tyrantrum for some reason. This team resembles my teambuilding very well, but im too tired of writing this to go into that much more. The team fits well, I used it to drop a couple people down the ladder when they started getting cocky.

I gave in. http://hastebin.com/osuhivofey.diff

I finally gave in and used Cancerzu. I'm not proud of myself for this. I think I made up for it by throwing Stunfisk on the team though. Used this team to continue holding ladder, reaching a personal high peak before getting haxed to shit down a game.

Oh my god that was a ton of effort. I was going to do this for my TS teams too, but probably not since this was so much work and I doubt anyone really cares about TS. If a couple people ask, I'll dump some teams, though.

Well that's it for Gen6 AAA. I had a lot of fun in it, going undefeated in OMPL and holding ladder peak for I don't even know how long anymore. I was really looking forward to Gen7 because the new abilities sound really fun, but I'm dissapointed in our council's decision to unban things like Fur Coat and Illusion for the beginning of next gen. I doubt I'll play it too much until those abilities get banned, I don't feel like playing an OU based meta that allows Fur Coat Chansey, ya know? Hopefully I'm wrong and the meta is going to be better than I'm expecting :~)

Thanks to all the cool AAA people who without a doubt inspired a lot of my building! Especially Kl4ng when I first started getting into this, probably a year ago.

Its been lit, Gen VI,

Would be glad to share a few of my teams

Standard Screens HO Team. The main idea of this team is to keep momentum in your favour from the beginning itself. Deo-S is a pretty good anti-lead, can taunt opposing rock-setters, sets rocks and screens making it easy for mons to set up. Xerneas up next takes care of defoggers since it OHKOs every relevant defogger after rocks damage after geomancy. Ray takes care of unaware walls such as clef and other things like P-Don which are able to stop Xerneas. Ekiller help revenge kill weakened mons. One of the Ekillers is lum-coat to slip past remaining bulky walls.

Cons: Simply loses to M-Sab + Arceus-Rock + Unaware Mon. Physical Arceus-Ghost can be a really big problem since Brick Break removes screens.

Note: Will be adding a couple more teams

Alas, poor Gen VI! I knew him, Horatio...

BH Teams:

Ho-Oh + TTar Semi-Stall (I guess)

Made as a Protean suspect ladder team, this one fairly well. It highlighted to me how Ho-Oh was surprisingly adept at handling Protean, as well as the absolute necessity of a Steel-type (which we all knew). I quite honestly forget a lot about this team, but it usually revolved around shuffling the enemy through Mega-Tyranitar's Stealth Rock and threatening to trap Steel-types with a big ol' Thousand Waves or slam them with Ho-Oh's Flare Blitz.

Cresselia and Kyogre have a field day (Semi-Stall?)

Cresselia is good I promise
Essentially, after the Protean ban, I figured that set-up sweepers would be extremely prevalent. And I was sorta right! At least, compared to the Protean meta. This team made its debut on the no-Protean suspect ladder, where I tested around a bit to see what PH sweeper was the best fit for this team. Eventually, I settled on an old classic in Kyogre. With Imposter-proofing possible simply through a Safety Goggles Unaware mon, I wanted to try Cresselia. And Cresselia did well! Its main problem in my experience was being run over by either Mega TTar or -ates, so I added Audino-Mega and the obligatory Steel-type. I went with Registeel just to have one less Dark weakness, and I added Giratina because it could cover stray V-Creates.

Basically, this team revolves around seeking out the sweepers and neutralizing them either with Nuzzle from Cress or Spore from Kyogre. While the other team attempts to cure that condition (or just play around it), I get to apply pressure. It's actually pretty fun for a stally team, and PH Ogre is something I hadn't had much use for before this team came around.

Throwback time to pre-ORAS!

viva la darmz

This was when we didn't really have to worry about Rayquaza-Mega and the Primals destroying the planet. I forget a lot about this team, but I do know that it carried me all the way through most of XY, becoming obsolete after the 510 EV limit. Either way, I do remember that it was quite successful for me, with things like Kyogre's Blue Flare bopping MAggrons and Mega TTar being really rude to Megagar. If I recall, this was the first team I made after being inducted into the ways of stall by our lord and savior Mr. Mime Adrian Marin and I still am quite proud of it. Prankster POgre WILL be a thing next gen, I promise (if it stays alive), and you haven't seen the last of our hero, Darmanitan-Zen

Gen 6 might be over but it's still playable and I have teams that I don't want to waste (or rmt), so here's a team dump. Some of these aren't that good (esp the first one) but they're all pretty fun (for you at least).

So I made this for a meme because mono-Arceus teams are done a lot and mono Ekiller teams are done a lot, but mono ekiller is bad and other Arc formes are boring. I ended up customising it a bit to cteam DoW's Ataraxia, because I expected him to bring it vs me - it only ended up thanks to absurd amounts of luck, though. Sub Arceus has enough investment to ensure Quagsire can't break the subs, nor SToss. PSong is just there for BP because you kinda lose if you don't get lucky otherwise. The CM set is there to break Unaware and skarm (LO Judgment 2HKOs clef, grass knot for quag, FB for skarm), it also OHKOs waterceus/rockceus/groundceus with +1 GK, though GK can otherwise be replaced by w/e coverage. Standard bulky Ho-Oh is 2HKO'd by +1 Judg which is nice.
Team is only really good with the surprise factor tbh, not worth bringing to late rounds of a tour when it's been scouted :toast:

I used this to get Protean reqs on both ladders, it was a bit better in the Protean meta. Haven't played BH for a couple months so it's probably outdated as hell. Also won me a couple of BH dailies.
I made this around Scarf Contrary MRay. I think Contrary sets are generally garbage because 1) you 50/50 vs imposter, 2) physical contrary is weak and completely walled by 'tina or FF Aegi, and 3) it's hard to imposterproof effectively. I ran Scarf to beat Imposter, as it's OHKO'd at +2 by Draco. Leaf Storm catches Ttar, Kyogre, Mbro (useful!!), and Diancie (on the switch) as well as non-Unaware fairies, 2HKOing pretty much all of them. It forces you out vs imposter though. Originally Magma was Overheat and Trick was Earth Power, but Magma Storm is enough vs Steels and also beats Shed which was troublesome for the team; and Trick cripples FF steels anyway while helping vs stall/slower teams. It does make you a slightly worse Imposter lure though, as they're more likely to switch out when they see trick.
I needed to find a way to Improof this (eg if you're locked into leaf storm) so I added Unaware Audino, which is also a nice blanket check to most setup sweepers (especially MGar). I then added the second ray to help with mind games and act as a wallbreaker + revenge killer; the set is pretty unique with 252+ SpA and Sharp Beak. This spread sacrifices the speed tie with other mrays and loses even harder to Diancie to let you 2HKO FC Chansey after about 20%, which is pretty nice. It bluffs specs nicely as well which gets some kills vs things like mewtwos and other frailmons which think they force you out. Magma obv bops shed and KS is sorta filler but it's nice when people try to fakespeed you n things. Secret Sword is an option to smash ttar but the other ray tends to lure it in nicely. Pretty much impossible to reliably improof this though, outside of mega bro/FC chans.
At this point I added Imposter Chansey as another blanket check to everything, and MBro as a more dedicated -ate check + mray improof, but I didn't really like Mbro fsr, so I changed it for FC Chansey. I needed a final mon, and the team only had one Dino, so why not another? PH dino absorbs sleep + absorbs koff + uses koff + wishtects, it also switches into shed which I desperately needed esp for low ladder. Nothing has nicknames because it makes them harder to distinguish :]
Team is p weak to Tspikes and hazard stack which can take out the defogger, as well as trapping. No fat steel also makes things a problem esp specs mray which kinda 6-0s. No heal bell is also a pain and you can sometimes just lose to stuff like PH Ogre if it gets in and sets up.

Suicide lead + Voltturn + breakers + cleaner, fairly simple formula. Mamo is really hard to switch into, and Ursaring has literally no safe switchins (it usually OHKOs Avalugg at +2) but is thankfully held back by its low speed. Ursaring creeps P2 (I do this with most slow offensive mons) and carries protect for Fake Out MLop, as well as Frustration if your Orb somehow gets Knocked/Tricked before it procs, because you don't need coverage when you hit this hard. You could probably run Rest or BU in the last slot but eh. Dual Scarfers help vs offence where Mamo and Ursaring aren't as good and obviously Bee is super fast too. This team really preys on Chanslugg which is (was) super common on ladder.

This is actually one of the very first teams I made, it led me to discover this really cool Abomasnow set when looking for a Chanslugg breaker. Lando was originally Linoone (which is what I built around) but Linoone is garbage lmao, Dnite hits harder with unSTAB'd Espeed and doesn't require masses of support to set up. Run Psyshock on P2 if you don't like losing to Meloetta. Chansey can be replaced with a more offensive mon if you want, or give it Wish to support Raptor/Aboma. This team isn't amazing but Band Raptor is really really strong.

After using this team I started to think zammer was crap, it does its job here of revenging stuff but urgh. Psyshock isn't worth though because you're not beating Chansey and at least this way you can beat ava. Gatr 2HKOs Ava at +2, Lando lures Chansey and P2 and knocks them, Pz also lures both while revenging things and 6-0'ing stall by itself more or less (just dodge status), I ran bee on everything at this point, and Volc sweeps with psychic/bug perfect coverage and giga for the inevitable grass types. FB is probably better than Psychic though.

Literally hazard lead + wallbreaker + 3 setup sweepers + Lop.EQ on Scoli hits Tangrowth and other grass types, though you can run Protect there. Greninja set can be made more standard too. Cloyster creeps scarf 101s (ie Lando-I) I think? Cloyster is pretty broken though, it has v few checks once P2 is weakened bc you can run HPump for Tang and Rock Blast for grounds, as well as Spike cannon for (perfect) neutral coverage. SpA is fairly meaningless as long as you can kill Tang, so you can move those EVs wherever.

I made an earlier version of this team with Miltank but I found miltank to be really really bad, so I cut it. Greninja is cool as ever, Torn-T is a really good pivot/breaker, Pinsir and Dnite smash things for the other to clean (Ice beam lures Avalugg for the 2HKO, while +2 Return also 2HKOs), and Rotom revenges. P2 is just kinda there as the blanket check to everything.

I wanted to make a meme team ft only mons banned from OU, so I made this mess. Greninja is your standard suicide spiker, Ice beam catches the relevant spinner ie avalugg. Gene and Lando are also fairly standard sets. 'Tina is kinda cool in that it lures and breaks chanslugg on bad players, and Shadow Sneak does a lot to frail HO mons eg bee, mlop, etc. It creeps Breloom and wisps it so you don't just die to spore + bullet seed. Dialga is kinda random but it was that or Aegislash which has even more weaknesses; Aegislash can def go in that slot though if you want. Dialga's spread is just to make it as fat as possible and maybe get a kill with draco/metal burst, but it's usually foddered. It takes a specs hyper voice from melo and kos back which is cool I guess? Mawile is actually really cool in theory, +2 Sucker Punch kills everything up to uninvested Manaphy(!) and you smash through P2, even Avalugg is 2HKOd (though it will kill you back with Avalanche). Last slot is p filler.
