[OVERVIEW]

Mienshao is set apart by its ability to throw off Reckless-boosted STAB High Jump Kicks off an above average base 125 Attack stat. Its wide movepool gives it the ability to hit common Fighting-type switch-ins such as Togekiss and Latias with moves such as Poison Jab, Stone Edge, and Knock Off. Additionally, it can serve as a serviceable pivot with U-turn. Mienshao's Speed tier also allows it to revenge kill the likes of Mega Sharpedo, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Mega Aerodactyl. However, Mienshao's awful bulk doesn't allow it to come in too much, and it’s forced out by common metagame threats such as Scizor, Breloom, and Choice Scarf Latias. Additionally, Mienshao’s Speed stat, while decent, leaves it outsped and outclassed by other Fighting-types such as Infernape and Terrakion, which trade raw power for better Speed and access to a STAB combination.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Mienshao's most powerful STAB move and gets its power boosted by Reckless, allowing it to OHKO common threats such as Terrakion and Hydreigon, but it comes at the risk of losing half of Mienshao's health if it misses. U-turn is used to gain momentum and pivot out of normally unadvisable situations such as an incoming Gliscor switch-in and chip incoming Mienshao stops such as Latias. Knock Off serves to hit common switch-ins such as Latias and Chandelure while also removing items the opponent may find useful, such as Doublade’s Eviolite. Poison Jab hits common Fairy-type switch-ins to Mienshao supereffectively for a 2HKO, such as Azumarill and Sylveon. Stone Edge hits most Flying-types super effectively, most notably getting the 2HKO on Crobat, Mantine, and defensive Togekiss after Stealth Rock.

Set Details
========

Maximum EV investment in Speed and Attack with a Jolly nature allows Mienshao to outspeed and KO the likes of Hydreigon and Krookodile, and it can Speed tie with +1 Mega Sharpedo. Choice Scarf is used to outspeed common threats and revenge kill them while also turning Mienshao into a late-game cleaner. Reckless is the best ability because it boosts the power of Mienshao's High Jump Kick, allowing it to wallbreak as effectively as possible.

Usage Tips
========

Mienshao shouldn't come directly into attacks due to its poor bulk, so pivoting via Volt Switch or U-turn, as well as coming in after a sacrifice, should be primarily used. Furthermore, be wary of Protect users such as Suicune, as using High Jump Kick on them will make Mienshao lose half of its health. Mienshao should either serve as an early- to mid-game wallbreaker, a revenge killer to force out sweepers, or a late-game cleaner that can pick off weakened teams. Lastly, U-turn should be used early in the match to pivot out of healthy dedicated switch-ins such as Gliscor, Crobat, orand Mega Altaria to attain offensive momentum.

Team Options
========

Mienshao fits best on offensive teams, as its raw power works well to break bulkier archetypes for teammates. Setup sweepers such as Latias and Mega Altaria appreciate the weakening of the opposing team Mienshao provides. Pursuit support form from the likes of Alolan Muk and Choice Band Scizor weaken Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Doublade and Latias, thus allowing for Mienshao to be more immediately threatening. Swords Dance Cobalion and Scizor work especially well, as they can take on Fairy-types and, in the case of Cobalion, can lure Gliscor and KO it with Steelium Z-boosted Iron Head. Pivots such as Hydreigon and Mega Beedril give Mienshao more opportunities to fire off powerful attacks. Rotom-C and Mega Manectric work especially well, as they check Flying-types and force out Gliscor. Poison-types such as Crobat and Amoonguss check Fairy-types and allow Mienshao to forgo Poison Jab for Stone Edge. Mienshao appreciates entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock to help chip away at switch-ins, so setters such as Krookodile and Gliscor are good options. Klefki works especially well with Mienshao, as it can check common Mienshao checks such as Latias and Mega Altaria, while also weakening opposing teams with Spikes. Finally, wallbreakers such as Azumarill and Serperior work well, as they appreciate Mienshao's pivoting bringing them into play, and can weaken teams for Mienshao to clean up later in the game.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Choice Band set can be used to maximize power, but Mienshao's mediocre Speed for a wallbreaker renders it unable to be effective versus hyper offensive teams. A set with Regenerator, Life Orb, and Hidden Power Ice is usable to lure Gliscor and KO it, but it’s it's easily revenge killed. A Swords Dance set with 3 attacks can be used, but Mienshao rarely finds setup opportunities, and more oftensive archetypes easily KO it due to Mienshao’s its mediocre Speed and poor bulk.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Primarina, Azumarill, and Togekiss can switch into Mienshao and force it out. However, while they must be mindful of Poison Jab, they do force Mienshao out of play.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Mantine and Crobat resist High Jump Kick and can force Mienshao out. They must be wary of Stone Edge. Gliscor in particular is a nuisance, as it's not weak to Stone Edge.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latias and Infernape can easily KO Mienshao from full HP, but they can’t switch directly. Priority users such as Scizor, Azumarill, and Breloom all can KO Mienshao after mild chip due to its frailty.

Is this going to be QC ready soon? It's been a week since USM C&C opened.

Overview
  • I really think Mienshao's state in the meta needs to be a bit more strongly represented. Basically, in the competition role just mention how Mienshao's honestly just outclassed right now by the two Pokemon you mentioned instead of sounding like there's a more or less even trade off when choosing between them for a Scarfer. You can follow this up from the previous bullet point about how it's just forced out by so many of the more popular Pokemon in the metagame like Gliscor and Scizor. Overall just make sure Mienshao's state in the actual metagame is better represented.
  • However, during the beginning of the Overview since you're going for positives first you could mention the raw power while using a Choice Scarf first since that's basically Mienshao's whole niche that all other Scarfers don't really have and separates it from its competition.
Set

move 1: High Jump Kick
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: Poison Jab / Stone Edge

I think the set should follow this order with Knock Off and U-turn switching places as honestly U-turn is a lot more important to Mienshao overall, as you'd click it a lot more often than Knock Off in this meta, especially with the downfall of bulky Psychics and Ghost-types post gen 6.

Moves
  • Make sure the order of the moves mentioned and explained follows the set order; i.e HJK > U-turn > Knock Off > Poison Jab > Stone Edge.
  • I think you should reword the description of Stone Edge from specific mentions to saying it hits Flying-types generally first then specifically mentioning Toge / Crobat / etc because it's more indicative of what Stone Edge is actually used for.
  • Funnily enough you did this for Poison Jab though lol.
Set Details
  • I feel like the Jolly nature description also suffers from the same problem as the Stone Edge description; go general first and then specific, we don't use Jolly just because of Shark and Nihilego. You can preface this by saying something like "allows Mienshao to outspeed all Pokemon up to Choice Scarf Nihilego, as well as Speed tie with boosted Mega Sharpedo." with better wording etc etc.
Checks and Counters
  • Honestly I don't think Gliscor differentiates itself enough from Flying-types in the way it checks Mienshao to warrant a specific section. I'd just have another line in Flying-types that says "Gliscor deserves a special mention for not being weak towards Stone Edge." or something along those lines.
  • Faster Revenge Killers should just be changed to Revenge Killers and have two separate lines, one for faster Scarfers and another for priority users, which definitely deserve a mention despite not being able to OHKO outright they can do so after chip damage from hazards etc.
Should be 1/3 after all this is implemented.

Overview is solid

Moves
* Mention in your High Jump Kick line that it gets a boost in power from Reckless.
* 'pivot out of normally unadvisable situations.' - give some examples of said situations (against a predicted switch to Gliscor is a decent option).
* It's not too big an issue but the double Doublade mention in the Knock Off line is kinda creasing me. Just replace the first mention with something like Jellicent or Chandelure.
* Give one more example of a Fairy-type that Poison Jab hits super effectively.

Set Details
* The nature line is a tad bit confusing. You say it outspeeds everything up to Choice Scarf Nihilego and Mega Sharpedo both those Pokemon have different Speed tiers? Clean this up a little bit in just specifying that with a Jolly nature and Choice Scarf Mienshao can speed tie +1 Speed Jolly Mega Sharpedo.

Usage Tips
* 'Use U-turn to pivot out of dedicated switch-ins' - give examples here. This section looks really nice otherwise.

Team Options
* Give more examples of Poison-types and say that in covering Fairy-types, they can allow Mienshao to forego running Poison Jab to make room for Stone Edge.
* Give wallbreakers their own bullet point, list some relevant examples, and say that they appreciate Mienshao's ability to bring them into play with U-turn while in return, they can weaken teams for shao to clean up late-game.
* Also give examples of entry hazard setters and say that they can allow Mienshao to punish its switches while more easily powering through foes.

Checks and Counters
* The Fairy-type section should be fleshed out a little more. Give more than just Togekiss as an example when you talk about switch-ins, but also list offensive Fairy-types like Primarina and Azumarill as examples and say that while more having to be more wary of Poison Jab, they can force it out of play.

QC 2/3 when this is implemented.

Probably didn't make it clear since upon revisiting I found it wasnt implemented properly but there shouldnt be a separate section for Priority, it should be put into Revenge Killers. Just incorporate it in.

High Jump Kick is Mienshao’s Mienshao's most powerful STAB move (RC) getting and gets its power boosted by Reckless, (AC) as well as allowing (more logical grouping) it to OHKO common threats such as Terrakion and Hydreigon, but it comes at the risk of losing half of Mienshao’s Mienshao's health if it misses. Poison Jab hits common Fairy-type switch-ins to Mienshao super effectively for a 2HKO, such as Azumarill and Sylveon, hitting them for supereffective damage. Stone Edge hits most Flying-types supereffectively super effectively, most notably getting the 2HKO on Crobat, Mantine, and defensive Togekiss after Stealth Rock.

Set Details

Maximum EV investment in Speed and Attack with a Jolly nature allows for Mienshao to outspeed and KO the likes of Hydreigon and Krookodile, and it can Speed tie with +1 Mega Sharpedo. Choice Scarf is used to outspeed common threats and revenge kill them while also turning Mienshao into a late-game cleaner. Reckless is the best ability because it boosts the power of Mienshao’s Mienshao's High Jump Kick, allowing it to wallbreak as effectively as possible.

Usage Tips
========

Mienshao shouldn’t shouldn't come directly into attacks due to its poor bulk, so pivoting via Volt Switch or U-turn, as well as coming in after a sacrifice, should be primarily used. Furthermore, be wary of Protect users such as Suicune, as using High Jump Kick on them will make Mienshao lose half of its health. Mienshao should either serve as an early- to mid-game wallbreaker, a revenge killer to force out sweepers, or a late-game (AH) cleaner that can pick off weakened teams. Lastly, U-turn should be used early in the match to pivot out of healthy dedicated switch-ins such as Gliscor, Crobat, orand Mega Altaria to attain offensive momentum.

Team Options
========

Swords Dance Cobalion and Scizor work especially well, (AC) as they can take on Fairy-types and, in the case of Cobalion, can lure Gliscor and KO it with Steelium Z-boosted Iron Head. (I think? at least a proper move name should go here) Pivots such as Hydreigon and Mega Beedril give Mienshao more opportunities to fire off powerful attacks. Rotom-Cut and Mega Manectric work especially well, as they check Flying-types and force out Gliscor. Poison-types such as Crobat and Amoonguss check Fairy-types and allow Mienshao to forgo Poison Jab for Stone Edge. Mienshao appreciates entry hazard support such as Stealth Rocks Rock to help chip away at switch-ins, so setters such as Krookodile and Gliscor are good options. Klefki works especially well with Mienshao, as it can check common Mienshao checks such as Latias and Mega Altaria (RC) while also weakening opposing teams with Spikes. Finally, wallbreakers such as Azumarill and Serperior work well, as they appreciate Mienshao’s Mienshao's pivoting bringing them into play, and can weaken teams for Mienshao to clean up later in the game.

Other Options
=============

A Choice Band set can be used to maximize power, but Mienshao’s Mienshao's mediocre Speed for a wallbreakrr wallbreaker renders it unable to be effective versus hyper offensive teams. A set with Regenerator, Life Orb, and Hidden Power Ice is usable to lure Gliscor and KO it, but it’s it's easily revenge killed. A Swords Dance set with 3 attacks can be used, but Mienshao rarely finds setup opportunities, (AC) and more oftensive archetypes easily KO it due to Mienshao’s its mediocre Speed and poor bulk.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Primarina, Azumarill, and Togekiss can switch-(RH) into Mienshao and force it out. However, while they must be mindful of Poison Jab, they do force Mienshao out of play.

**Amoonguss**: Amoonguss can freely come in on Mienshao (RC) and get a free Spore, but Mienshao can pivot out of the incoming switch-in with U-turn.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Mantine and Crobat resist High Jump Kick and can force Mienshao out. They must be wary of Stone Edge. Gliscor (RC) in particular is a nuisance, as it’s it's not weak to Stone Edge.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latias and Infernape can easily KO Mienshao from full HP, but they can’t switchin can't switch in directly. Priority users such as Scizor, Azumarill, and Breloom all can KO Mienshao after mild chip due to its frailty.
