Project: Kyoru
Led by Snaquaza, Galom, and kizzo212
Approved by The Immortal and Eevee General.

Welcome to the Kyoru Project! This project is focused on creating a whole new generation from scratch. This includes new Pokemon, moves, abilities and items, in addition to a whole new range of mechanics. While we’re developing this, we’re also creating a game out of it. However, this would just be a discussion thread for the competitive part of the game, which will be coded on Aqua. Additionally, we have a room on the Pokemon Showdown server, where it can also be discussed, and where you can also submit things to be added to this project! We haven't finished yet, so there will still be many future additions!

Antonize: the Merciless Pokémon
Bug/Dark-type
70 HP | 120 Atk | 60 Def | 60 SpA | 60 SpD | 110 Spe || BST: 480
Abilities: Swarm or Rivalry
Hidden Ability (Available): Unnerve
Evolves from Antagon starting at level 30.
Design: Antonize, similarly, has 4 legs and four tentacle-like appendages rising out of its back, similar in appearance and function of Antagon's. Antonize body is much larger than Antagon's, with its legs getting larger to support it. Antonize mandibles grow together, forming a large, sharp beak. Antagon's spot on its back is replaced with a large 3-clawed slash mark. One of the most noticeable differences between Antagon and Antonize is Antonize's large, scorpion-like tail that is almost as long as its entire body length. The tail ends in a large spike at the end, with two smaller spikes branching off near the base.

Art: i.imgur.com/7qXyBHn.png
Cry: clyp.it/1nkplevc

Dex Entries:
1) Bryre is a very forgetful Pokemon. Often it will attempt to braid leaves into its smoldering hair which immediately burn up and disappear.
2) It sometimes appears at night to try to aid weary travelers through the woods. However, it often can't remember the way and leads them to the wrong destination.

More info: Bryre's dim flames can help light up the night for nearby Pokemon in the woods. However, it's very naive and often attracts trouble this way from dangerous Pokemon and people. When in danger, it will manipulate its flaming hair to take on frightening appearances, which usually helps scare off threats. If Bryre catches sight of itself doing this, usually in a reflection, it will often become scared itself. Although it's quite innocent, Bryre becomes cunning when it evolves.

Calangler: the Lost City Pokémon
Water-type
50 HP | 65 Atk | 60 Def | 50 SpA | 30 SpD | 40 Spe || BST: 295
Ability: Water Veil
Hidden Ability (Available*): Rattled

Evolves into Sailance starting at Lv. 38.

Design:- Calangler lack the defining sail of their evolved form, possessing only a small, standard dorsal fin. The fin is somewhat more lengthy than that of most fish, but does not flow freely with water currents as Sailance's fin does.
- They have an underdeveloped "dagger" that mirrors their evolved form's great blade, but it is small and not yet made of true steel, only hard scales and cartilage.
- Calangler's hide is exceptionally hard, and it is never shed until evolution, when metal replaces the lower body.
- The color of Sailance's upper body comprises the majority of Calangler's body, except for a patch of gray on the underside. The golden stripe of Sailance is absent, not yet having developed. Its developing dorsal fin is also navy blue, unlike Sailance's, as it has not yet developed into its future color. Its eyes are gold, despite the absence of the golden stripe.
- Shiny Calangler's primary color is the color of the upper body of shiny Sailance: standard blue (lighter when compared to the dark navy of the standard appearance). Its eyes remain gold and the small patch of gray on its underside becomes silver.

Design:
Artwork: postimg.org/image/4k9my5vqz/Cry: clyp.it/44pgaxir
-This generally is a floating Pokemon. Both hands and face float in the air.
-It's face is shaped as a diamond-like ice shard. Two horizontal icicles come out from each side of Icighoul's face. At the tip of the icicles, they descend into two half icicles with broken tips [picture them as jagged tips]. It's horn comes out on the top of Icighoul's head, and is the same design as its sides. The color of its face is light blue and becomes fainter as the icicles point away from the face, to the point where they are white at the ends.
-It's dark blue eyes are triangular-shaped and fill almost the entire face. Its pupils are an orange/yellow and move a little closer to eachother to show the cuteness of the pre-evo.
-There are two icicles on the back of Icighoul's head, one coming out up right and the other upleft, making an x-shape on its back. Two smaller icicles branch off the main icicle near the base [for each icicle]. The icicles are the same color of the face and can be removed to be used as a jabbing tool.
- It has hands that are similar to haunter. These hands are a darker blue and can reach behind Icighoul's back to grab its icicles. It can claw the target and can form a fist to punch it.
For shiny colors, the light blue turns silver, the blue on its hands turn light grey, the dark blue eyes turn purple, and the pupils turn green

Dex Entries:
1) It seeks attention by starting small fires in unusual places. However, it's actually quite shy and will dart out of view when someone catches sight of it.
2) Its skin is actually a light shade of green. The gray color is a thick coating of ash produced by its own flames that plays a role in regulating body temperature.

More info: The evolved form of Bryre. Incendriad is often found to live deep in the woods, typically concealing itself from other inhabitants. Despite this timidness, it's known to play sly tricks on passerby to gain their attention, usually by sparking small fires or creating hole traps which it covers with leaves. The leaves that Incendriad grows on its body develop extremely quickly, as they are often burned away by its own hair, which reaches temperatures of a few thousand degrees. The residue from these burned leaves cover its skin, turning it a grayish color rather than the natural light green that Incendriad has at birth. These leaves are also used for storage. Incendriad will keep small objects, berries, or powders under its leaves for quick use. Incendriad wears a mask of red clay over part of its face, which is traditional for its species.

73 HP | 110 Atk | 110 Def | 55 SpA | 55 SpD | 87 Spe || BST: 490
Ability: Intimidate
Hidden Ability (Available*): Justified

Evolves from Calangler at Lv. 38.

Design- Despite being "swordfish-themed," Sailance more closely resembles a sailfish, as it has an extensive, luxurious dorsal fin (sail).
- The "sword" protruding from the front of its face is literally organic metal, similar to other Steel-types' anatomy.
- The upper side of its body is primarily a dark navy blue, almost black, to camouflage well with the deep sea's water. Its "sail" is closer to standard blue, but rimmed in a navy blue similar to the upper body. Its underside is a metallic gray, as it literally consists of metal plates, much like a Salamence's hide. A stripe of gold runs between the navy blue and gray, running the full distance of Sailance's body. Its tail, ventral, and other fins are the same color as its upper body: navy blue/black.
- Shiny Sailance retain their metallic underside, but the color more closely resembles a light silver than gray. The gold stripe remains, but the upper body lightens to a blue matching the primary color standard Sailance's dorsal fin/sail. In turn, the Shiny's sail becomes dark violet, and becomes rimmed in the same blue as the upper body.
- Golden eyes, matching the golden stripe.

Cry: clyp.it/2sivwuel-Spiricle is generally a grounded Pokemon. It's always on the floor.
-Spiricle has a tough body that resembles the shape of Icighoul's face. Its body has two see-through holes that are diamond-shaped and has a dark blue jagged line around its lower section.
-It has two hands, one of them holding the icicle spear. They come out thick and end a little thinner like an icicle.
-Its face has a mad frown and 2 dark blue eyes. It has 4 icicles hanging down from the face to the sides. [Note, also picture it without the bandana]
-It has a pointed bottom that ends in a point. Half is stuck in the ground only showing the part above the round circle.
-It's eyes and jagged stripe are dark blue, its entire body is light blue, and its spear is a normal blue.
-Shiny colors are the same as the pre-evo.

It means a lot to me, including your criticism, even if you didn’t like it.
Temponae (From Tempo, Italian for time and Aranea, Latin for spider, but then inversed. Could also relate to aether, in its spacetime split)
Temponae would be a giant spider, locked in an "infinite" chamber in spacetime. It produces many strings which connect all matter, antimatter and dark matter in the universe and without it everything would be separate and in chaos. Its cave would be filled with huge strings of web, but they should quickly become thinner until they're not visible.

Typing: Bug / Psychic
Stats: 100/110/90/130/100/150
Ability: Safety Net (Safety Net prevents Temponae from being knocked out in any way the turn it switches in. Attacks still hit it, but it'll always survive the turn with at least 1 HP damage, so even with status or hazards.)
Move: Temporal String (Bug-type, 85 BP, 10 PP, 100% Accuracy, Lowers Target's Speed by 1, Target: Any One Foe, No Contact, Affected by Protect and Clones, Affected by King's Rock, Not Affected by Snatch, Not Affected by Magic Coat)

These moves are all quite standard. Many STAB moves, and some fitting status moves. I added Ancient Power since many legendaries get it, it lives in a cave and has existed for a long time. Future Sight is the last move since it connects pieces of time too. Not much special to see here. Small movepool since many cover legends have small level up ones, strangely.

I gave it quite some coverage here. Most legendaries go past the limits for coverage, so I gave it most things that I could see a spider do in some way. I notably excluded Fire, Ice and most Rock-type moves, since they are not fitting. I kept Rock Slide though since it lives in a cave and can probably cause it to change, and so cause rocks to come loose. I don't think anything too controversial is here.

HM01: Cut
HM04: Strength
HM06: Rock Smash

Just those that fit it, I gave it Strength since its quite "powerful" unlike the other spiders. Its feet can Cut.

Miscellaneous Information
Appearance: Its body has the shape of a spider, which is a bit orange-y (though the artist may change this if he feels he has a better idea) with black stripes. There may be some rough spikes or irregularities on its skin, but I'll let that be decided by the artist. Its legs are quite large, so that it is quite large if it stands upright. Additionally there are small puffs of whitish hair on its "knees". Its face looks quite vicious and it has two large teeth. Of course its "behind" is quite large and there should be a clear place where the string comes out, probably a large black circle. Sorry if this is vague, but it should be better with an artist who'll be found if this wins. It may even change a bit to what seems good to him.
Location: It lives in a cobweb / string filled spiral cave which is hidden in spacetime.

Notes:
Concept: Smeargle, but for Abilities instead of Moves.
Virturing = Virtual + Turing.
89.7 lbs is a previously-unused weight and is just heavier than Excadrill. I was about to make this thing Beldum-weight when I realised that computers aren't actually that heavy.
Height is modeled after Tangela. I figured they would look pretty alike, except Virturing has wires instead of vines.
Body type is literally "Head with a base" which I figured described this thing perfectly.
21 unique level-up moves may seem like a lot, but there's more precursor than you might think: Magnezone gets 21, Porygon-Z gets 19 and Bronzong gets 18. Plus I need this Pokemon to be fairly flexible to make use of its multiple abilities.
Had a bit of fun with some flavor options for this Pokemon, including stuff like Miracle Eye and Overheat. I'm sure you understand why. On the other hand, some of the options seem a bit off but can be explained fairly readily by comparing this moveset against those of similar Pokemon (the Porygon line gets Pain Split, for example). Other moves could be explained by the move descriptions, I guess (e.g. Dazzling Gleam: "The user damages opposing Pokémon by emitting a powerful flash.").
Here are some of the more 'overpowered' Abilities you could use with this thing's movepool, and how I tried to get around them during design:
  • No Guard Zap Cannon + Hypnosis may sound pretty OP, but you need to choose between one of the two status conditions to inflict. Plus Virturing isn't quite so scary with that awkward Speed stat of 65 and its decent-at-best defenses.
  • Contrary Overheat!! With Base 85 Special Attack and no STAB? Good luck.
  • Serene Grace Discharge + Iron Head could prove to be scary against everything not Ground- or Electric-type.
  • Simple Calm Mind / Autotomize / Iron Defense is super scary. If anyone lets you set up, that is >_>
  • Pure / Huge Power Zen Headbutt / Wild Charge! Okay, I guess. Base 65 Speed + Base 60 Attack is a bit of a letdown on this front though. I get that Medicham also has Base 60 Attack, but it at least has a usable speed. And even then it's not quite OU yet, Singles or Doubles.
  • Protean is horrible on this thing, don't bother.
  • Drizzle + Thunder is pretty lame.
  • Parental Bond isn't super great even on a Special set, a Pure / Huge Power set probably hits for more.
  • Tinted Lens is probably even worse, since Electric / Psychic doesn't hit that much for NVE damage anyway.
  • Speed Boost makes this thing not so bad I guess, but it doesn't have Baton Pass to make use of that. I mean you could try damaging things but still...
  • Shadow Tag could be cool with Trick + Choice item + Calm Mind. Then again, I'm fairly sure Gothitelle does this better, unless you want to use Autotomize as well. In which case you're stuck with one (1) attacking move, good luck.
  • Skill Swap + Slow Start / Defeatist would be pretty funny, though not exactly effective.
  • Perhaps this thing's most annoying set might be a Prankster set; it does get Thunder Wave, and options like Recycle / Skill Swap / Trick / Swagger / Taunt / Torment / Reflect Type / Pain Split / Flash could be hilarious in-game.
Overall a pretty weak Pokemon, and you're probably doing something wrong if you're trying to use it offensively. It has enough attacking moves to make it an okay choice in-game if you can get it to Overwrite into Pure / Huge Power or Adaptability or Parental Bond I guess, but other than that it's not amazing.
Major props if you got the reference in Pokedex entry {2}.
type: electric/poison
ability: lightning rod
secondary ability: plus
hidden ability: infiltrator
stats: 66/98/55/110/55/101 (i think the typing and concept would fit a mixed sweeper, while the relatively high speed would allow it to outspeed any base 100, giving our mon still a 50/50 chance if it's facing stuff like landorus-i, and absolutely no way to outspeed when facing scary stuff like garchomp)

dex entry: A) This pokémon loves abandoned laboratories. While they may act aggressive if threatened, they're actually friendly.
B) There have been several sightings of this pokémon with Rotom, probably due to their interactions with machinery.

concept art: i.imgur.com/Larl7fe.jpg (i guess there's no need for me to say why i didn't give it if levitate even it'd fit the concept)
the main concept is that of a Crookes tube ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crookes_tube i-i swer i didn't make it up), which uses both electricity and gases (depending on the gas remaining after creating void the beams can be usually green or purple)

Just putting it out there that we would really appreciate it if you come join us on our forum and in our room. We have very low activity right now, so much so that most of the talk in the room is about how dead the place is.

So I decided to pop this onto my server http://viipii.crabdance.com
It'll take me some time to get all these fellas up and running, but I'm open to help there. Enjoy Antonize, being the first on.

Get some sprites for me and I'll implement those.

If you want to help me get them implemented quickly, fill this out. Otherwise its when I get around to it, and that could take months.
