Ubers Kyogre

Stoward

Ah, you're finally awake
[OVERVIEW]

* Primal Kyogre is one of the most solid wallbreakers in the tier, boasting solid offensive stats combined with Primordial Sea, which boosts its STAB attacks to the point of doing absurd levels of damage and makes it hard for even Pokemon that resist Water to switch in.
* Due to its 100 / 90 / 160 bulk, Primal Kyogre has a reasonably easy time switching into attacks from its foes, especially ones from special attackers.
* Because of its high offensive and defensive stats, Primal Kyogre's best matchup tends to be against bulkier teams, as it is capable of running multiple different sets that can tear through the most defensive Pokemon in the tier, such as Lugia and Blissey.
* It is also one of the most viable RestTalk users in the tier, meaning that it is capable of acting as a solid status sponge, which is incredibly useful in a metagame filled with Toxic spam.
* However, it can be difficult to build teams with Primal Kyogre, since it can't be seen as a dedicated check to anything.
* Furthermore, Primal Groudon's ability to switch in and nullify Primal Kyogre's Water-type STAB moves, as well as Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Arceus-Water being mostly unfazed by non-Thunder Primal Kyogre, restricts its offensive prowess in the Ubers metagame.
* Kyogre's base 90 Speed is quite lackluster, as it is outpaced by a significant portion of the tier. Even if you choose to forgo the Blue Orb and run the niche option of a Choice Scarf, it's still outpaced by other common Choice Scarf users such as Yveltal and Xerneas. However, Kyogre does certainly compensate for this lack of Speed with the bulk that it offers.

move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Thunder
item: Blue Orb
ability: Drizzle
nature: Adamant
evs: 32 HP / 236 Atk / 64 Def / 176 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Liquidation in combination with Primal Kyogre's base 150 Attack stat and rain can threaten just about anything that doesn't resist it.
* Earthquake is a crucial move to run on physical variants, since it allows Primal Kyogre to hit Primal Groudon, which often tends to invest in a lot of Special Defense to deal with Xerneas, so it takes little damage from Ice Beam.
* Ice Beam is useful to hit common threats such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and Giratina.
* Thunder is useful to hit opposing Primal Kyogre and Arceus-Water and is the only way for physical Primal Kyogre to 2HKO Celesteela.
* Brick Break is a more niche option that has a 35% chance to 2HKO Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock damage.

Set Details
===========

* 176 Speed EVs allow Primal Kyogre to hit 260 Speed and outpace anything up to neutral-natured base 80s as well as notable threats such as standard Geomancy Xerneas, non-maximum Speed Jolly Primal Groudon variants, Necrozma-DM, and Necrozma-DW.
* 32 HP EVs and 64 Defense EVs allow Kyogre to survive a Brave Bird from Ho-Oh after Stealth Rock and a Double-Edge from Mega Salamence, and the EVs also give it a greater than 50% chance to survive a Precipice Blades from Adamant Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock.
* The remainder of the EVs are placed into Attack for maximum damage output along with an Adamant nature.
* Blue Orb is required for Kyogre to become Primal Kyogre.

Usage Tips
=========

* This set, like most offensive Kyogre sets, is to be used as a wallbreaker. Avoid using it during the early stages of the game when its checks such as Ferrothorn are still healthy. It is important to keep in mind that variants without Brick Break are hard walled by Ferrothorn.
* The main difference between standard wallbreaking Primal Kyogre sets and the physical variant is its improved matchup against bulkier teams; Liquidation has a 30% chance to OHKO Blissey after Stealth Rock.
* Try to bring Kyogre in against Primal Groudon, preferably through the use of a pivoting move such as U-turn, since although Primal Kyogre can take a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon, it prefers not to. Due to its offensive presence, Kyogre is likely to claim a free KO against your opponent once it gets safely on the field.

Team Options
===========

* Xerneas is a brilliant team partner for physical Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is able to 2HKO Xerneas's most common checks, most notably Primal Groudon, which Xerneas to more easily sweep a team. Choice Scarf Xerneas also pairs well with Primal Kyogre, as it appreciates Aromatherapy support.
* VoltTurn cores are incredibly useful for Primal Kyogre, since it's a rather slow Pokemon without any recovery, and so it appreciates being brought in without having to take chip damage. Noteworthy VoltTurn users include Yveltal, Mega Scizor, and Magearna. Yveltal is an especially good partner, since it also appreciates Kyogre's ability to break through specially defensive Pokemon such as Blissey and Chansey.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is typically able to take care of the few Pokemon that standard Primal Groudon sets struggle with such as Giratina-O and Zygarde-C and vice-versa.
* Anything that is able to take care of Ferrothorn is a good partner for Primal Kyogre because Ferrothorn the biggest threat to physical sets. The most noteworthy options are trappers such as Gothitelle. Lures such as Fire Blast Arceus-Fairy are also quite useful.
* Ferrothorn is a useful partner for Kyogre, as it's able to switch into Leech Seed from opposing Ferrothorn. It also forms a solid Fire / Water / Grass core with Primal Kyogre when paired with Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon.

[SET]
name: Calm Mind Attacker
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Origin Pulse
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Substitute / Thunder
item: Blue Orb
ability: Drizzle
nature: Modest
evs: 32 HP / 200 SpA / 124 Def / 152 Spe
ivs: 0 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
=========

* Calm Mind boosts Kyogre's already ridiculously high Special Attack and Special Defense and turns it into a very powerful wallbreaker.
* Origin Pulse is Kyogre's main STAB move and in combination with Calm Mind and rain makes Primal Kyogre very difficult to switch into, as it is able to outright OHKO any Pokemon that doesn't resist Water and 2HKO Chansey, Blissey, and Ferrothorn after a single boost. However, Scald can be a useful option, as neither Chansey nor Blissey run Leftovers, so it can help wear down Confide sets.
* Ice Beam offers good coverage against common Pokemon that resist Water, such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and both Giratina formes. It is also useful for its ability to OHKO physically defensive Zygarde-C.
* Substitute is incredibly useful on Primal Kyogre due to the number of switches that it naturally forces, and it provides Kyogre with the opportunity to boost quite easily. It also helps significantly against bulkier teams, as attacks from defensive checks such as Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball are unable to break its Substitute.
* Thunder improves Primal Kyogre's matchup against opposing Kyogre, Arceus-Water, and Toxapex. However, none of Arceus-Water's moves actually break Primal Kyogres Substitute, so Arceus-Water only really poses a threat if it's able to land a Toxic before Primal Kyogre gets a Substitute up. It should also be noted that Toxapex is 2HKOed by a +1 Origin Pulse, so it isn't able to effectively Haze + Recover.

Set Details
==========

* 152 Speed EVs allow Primal Kyogre to hit 254 Speed, giving it the ability to outpace maximum Speed Necrozma-DW and Necrozma-DM, as well as non-maximum Speed Jolly Primal Groudon.
* 32 HP EVs and 124 Defense EVs allow Primal Kyogre to always survive a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock as well as ensure that a Gyro Ball from 8 Attack Ferrothorn never breaks Primal Kyogre's Substitute.
* The 32 HP EVs also prevents Oblivion Wing from Modest Choice Scarf Yveltal and Shadow Ball from Giratina-O and Mega Gengar from breaking Primal Kyogre's Substitute.
* The rest of the EVs are put into Special Attack in order for maximum output along with a Modest nature.
* 0 Attack IVs along with a Modest nature are used in order to take minimum damage from Foul Play.
* Alternatively, an EV spread of 32 HP / 116 Def / 200 SpA / 160 Spe can be run in order to outpace Geomancy Xerneas and OHKO it after Stealth Rock before it sets up, but Kyogre sacrifices some potentially crucial bulk in order to do so.

Usage Tips
===========

* Use Primal Kyogre mid- or late-game when its checks have been removed from the field so it can keep its weather and break through teams easily.
* If Primal Kyogre is used early on in the game, avoid setting up until later on in the game.
* Remember that a rain-boosted 110-Base Power STAB Origin Pulse tends to do more damage than Ice Beam does, even to Pokemon that resist Water, so only use it on Primal Groudon and Pokemon that are weak to Ice.
* Keep in mind that this set is outpaced by standard Geomancy Xerneas by 1 point, so it is better to switch into your dedicated Xerneas check rather than try to OHKO Geomancy Xerneas after Stealth Rock.
* Similarly to the physical variant, bringing Primal Kyogre in against Primal Groudon is likely to claim a free KO, so try to do so, preferably with a pivoting move such as U-turn.

Team Options
============

* Xerneas and Primal Kyogre make a solid duo, as Kyogre is able to deal with many of the Steel-types that check Xerneas, as well as wear down Primal Groudon and easily put it in range of +2 Moonblast from Xerneas.
* Any offensive variant of Primal Kyogre also appreciates VoltTurn cores, since it's a very bulky Pokemon without any access to recovery, which means it doesn't appreciate having to take chip damage when switching in.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Groudon is able to threaten common answers to Primal Kyogre, most notably opposing Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn.
* A more niche option in the form of Groundium Z Dugtrio is able to trap and completely remove Primal Groudon from the field.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Scald
move 2: Rest
move 3: Sleep Talk
move 4: Ice Beam / Toxic
item: Blue Orb
ability: Drizzle
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
ivs: 0 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
=========

* Scald is a relatively powerful STAB move with a large number of PP and is useful for spreading burns, which can compensate for Kyogre's relatively low Defense stat.
* Due to the fact that Kyogre has no form of reliable recovery, it has to rely on Rest. However, this does mean that Kyogre can act as a solid status sponge.
* Sleep Talk is to maintain momentum while Kyogre is asleep.
* Ice Beam allows Kyogre to still damage Primal Groudon when the sun is up and also punish common threats such as Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence, and Rayquaza.
* Toxic punishes just about every Kyogre switch-in with the exception of Ferrothorn.

Set Details
===========

* 252 HP EVs, 168 Special Defense EVs, and a Calm nature allow Primal Kyogre to act as a solid answer to strong special wallbreakers such as Yveltal as well as a counter to all common support Arceus formes.
* 88 Defense EVs allow Primal Kyogre to always survive Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon, Double-Edge from Mega Salamence, Close Combat from Lucario and Life Orb Marshadow, +2 Extreme Speed from Extreme Killer Arceus, Brave Bird from Life Orb Ho-Oh, and Power Whip from Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock.
* 252 HP EVs and 88 Defense EVs along with 0 IVs and a negative nature in Attack also prevent Primal Kyogre from being 2HKOed by Choice Scarf Yveltal's Foul Play, defensive Ho-Oh's Brave Bird, and Arceus-Ground's Earthquake, though it has to be careful of Z-Move variants.

Usage Tips
===========

* This set can be used as a defensive pivot throughout the battle due to its solid bulk and limited switch-ins.
* Scald can be useful for spreading burns and is quite spammable once Primal Groudon is KOed.
* Primal Kyogre is brilliant for spreading status. While its checks are still healthy, it is useful to spread burns or poison opposing Pokemon, making it easier for your other Pokemon to wear them down.
* Prioritize keeping Primal Kyogre healthy enough to survive a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon when dealing with mixed Rock Polish variants, as many teams with Kyogre in them tend to find mixed Rock Polish Primal Groudon difficult to switch into.
* Although the EV spread is designed to deal with strong physical attackers relatively well, Primal Kyogre still prefers not to have to face them in a one-on-one scenario, particularly those that boost their Attack easily such as Rayquaza, Mega Salamence, Mega Lucario, and Primal Groudon, so avoid switching it into these Pokemon if possible.

Team Options
===========

* RestTalk Primal Kyogre tends to be more suited for bulkier teams, since it doesn't generate a significant amount of offensive pressure.
* Checks to Ferrothorn such as Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh are absolutely crucial for Primal Kyogre to be effective, as Ferrothorn hard walls it.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is typically able to take care of the few Pokemon that standard Primal Groudon struggles with and vice-versa.
* Hex users such as Giratina and Mega Gengar can take advantage of the status that Primal Kyogre spreads, especially from Toxic variants.
* Dedicated checks to Xerneas such as Primal Groudon, Ferrothorn, and Magearna are still important, as even though Primal Kyogre can always survive a hit from a boosted Xerneas, it does very little damage to it in return.
* Support Arceus Ground is an especially useful partner, as it's able to threaten many of the Pokemon that can set up on and threaten Primal Kyogre such as Lucario, Mega Salamence, and Primal Groudon. It can also remove entry hazards from the field, which is important on the balance teams that Primal Kyogre performs best on.
* Grass-type Pokemon and Magic Bounce users are brilliant on teams with defensive Kyogre, as they're able to prevent Ferrothorn from recovering by spamming Leech Seed.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
==============

* A more niche option is to forgo Blue Orb and run a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs set with Water Spout. However, both of these sets are threatened by Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, as they remove its rain. Kyogre's low Speed tier also means that it's easily weakened or revenge killed by faster Pokemon that are able to weaken its Water Spout.
* A Calm Mind set with Icium Z and Blizzard is a niche option for taking out Primal Groudon; however, this restricts teambuilding and is hard to justify in place of a Substitute + Calm Mind set with Blue Orb.

Checks and Counters
===============

**Primal Groudon**: Primal Groudon is one of the biggest threats to Primal Kyogre, as it's immune to Water when it switches in and can do massive amounts of damage to all sets with Precipice Blades. However, it has to be wary of Earthquake from physical Kyogre variants.

**Ferrothorn**: Ferrothorn hard walls physical variants. It can threaten all variants of Primal Kyogre if it's running Power Whip, but it has to be wary of Calm Mind Primal Kyogre, as it's 2HKOed by +1 Origin Pulse.

**Bulky Grass-types**: Arceus Grass tends to have the bulk to not be too bothered by Ice Beam from even offensive Primal Kyogre, and Mega Venusaur's ability Thick Fat means that it takes neutral damage at best from Primal Kyogre's coverage moves and can annoy it in return with Giga Drain, Leech Seed, or Toxic.

**Bulky Water-types**: Toxapex and Tentacruel are relatively unfazed by Kyogre's Water-type STAB moves, and they also don't mind Kyogre setting up, as they both run Haze. However, both Pokemon have to worry about Thunder and Earthquake from physical variants.

**Dragon-types**: " Dragon-types such as Giratina, Palkia, and Dialga resist Water-type moves and tend to have enough natural bulk to not be too fussed about Primal Kyogre's attacks and rain. Giratina can wall physical variants of Primal Kyogre and can just spam Toxic and Rest, and Palkia and Dialga take neutral damage at best from Kyogre's coverage moves. However, none of these Pokemon appreciate dealing with Calm Mind variants, as they struggle to switch into Primal Kyogre's attacks once it's at +1. Dialga also has to be careful with physical Kyogre, as it's 2HKOed by Earthquake.

**Revenge Killers**: Most Primal Kyogre sets lack any form of recovery, which makes them easily susceptible to being revenge killed. Pokemon that can take advantage of Primal Kyogre's lower Defense stat such as Salamence, Mewtwo, Lucario, Marshadow, and Swords Dance Arceus formes are particularly problematic.

**Chansey and Blissey**: Chansey and Blissey tend to use Confide over Seismic Toss, making them difficult for special variants of Primal Kyogre to deal with.

Overview

* While Kyogre might not be able to boast the title of King of Ubers that it had up until XY, it is still one of the most viable water types and menacing threats in the Sun and Moon Ubers metagame.
Information regarding a Pokemon's viability in older metagames used as a contrast for the current meta is not allowed in analysis so this has to be removed.

The overview itself is pretty vague; there is only one bullet point supporting Primal Kyogre while the other two talks about its flaws. If this Pokemon was that flawed, then it would see very less usage which isn't the case. There should be points that talks about Primal Kyogre's defensive prowess (it's a balance check to many threats similar to how bulky waters in other tiers are, make sure to add a few examples of them while talking about this.) Add another bullet point where you talk about Primal Kyogre's offensive presence because this is arguably one of the biggest threats to balance / bulkier teams. If you aren't prepared for this mon, it will punish.

1st Set

Fix the set format please (same goes for the other two sets as well)

* Ultra Sun and moon blessed Kyogre with the high power STAB move, Liquidation which combined with a base 150 attack can threaten just about anything that doesn't resist it
Best if you avoid this type of wording!

* The main difference between standard wallbreaking Primal Kyogre sets and the Physical variant is it's improved matchup vs bulkier teams, since Liquidation has an 85% chance to 2HKO Chansey
Blissey should be mentioned here instead of chansey because blissey walls sub cm thanks to confide which chansey will find extremely hard to fit. Physical variants of primal kyogre has a better matchup against stall teams because of this.

* Xerneas is a brilliant team partner for Physical Kyogre, since Kyogre is able to 2HKO Xerneas' most common checks (Especially Primal Groudon) eases up Xerneas' opportunities to be able to sweep through teams.
* Choice scarf Xerneas is also a noteable mention since it has access to aromatherapy, which Kyogre really appreciates.
Merge these two points they are about the same Pokemon. You will have to mention how Xerneas is helpful for Primal Kyogre too if they are to be good partners.

2nd Set

* Xerneas is a brilliant team partner for Physical Kyogre, since Kyogre is able to 2HKO Xerneas' most common checks (Especially Primal Groudon) eases up Xerneas' opportunities to be able to sweep through teams
* Volt turn cores are incredibly useful for Kyogre - since it's a very bulky mon without any access to recovery so ultimately it doesn't appreciate having to take chip damage before switching in. Noteworthy users of this are Yveltal, Mega Scizor and Magearna. Yveltal is probably a more noteworthy partner, since it also appreciates Kyogre's ability to break through mons with high special defense.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is typically able to take care of the few mons that standard Primal Groudon's struggle with and vice-versa
These three points have been recycled in the from the 2nd set. I'd consider rewording these.

3rd Set

* Due to the fact that Kyogre has no real form of recovery, it has to rely on rest
It's able to fuction as a status absorber thanks to Rest. Mention that here

* Ice beam allows Kyogre to still damage Primal Groudon when the sun is up and also punish common threats such as Zygarde, Salamence and Mega Rayquaza
Fix this :P

Add spaces between each point under Checks and Counters; it's a bit of a mess. The whole analysis lacks the use of proper terms. you wrote Kyogre in some places and Primal Kyogre in other places. http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/spelling-and-grammar-standards.3588427/ Give this a proper read and fix parts of the analysis accordingly. The content is fine but once you get all 3 qc checks, gp is prolly going to have a hell of a hard time!

Implement these for now and I will take another look. Haven't touched on a few parts yet

Stoward

Ah, you're finally awake
Update:
  1. removed mention of Primal Kyogre OHKOing Skarmory with Thunder
  2. Fixed error saying that Liquidation has an 85% chance to 2HKO Blissey. Actual calc: 252+ Atk Kyogre-Primal Liquidation vs. 0 HP / 252 Def Blissey in Heavy Rain: 504-594 (77.4 - 91.2%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
  3. First line of checks and counters had weather mentioned twice in a row
  4. Tidied up the "Dragon types Dot Point and mentioned Giratina as a noteworty check

QC is now 1/3 (confirmed in discord with Omfuga)

Base:

Primal:

[OVERVIEW]
* Kyogre is one of the most solid wallbreakers in the tier, boasting a Base 150 in Attack and a Base 180 in Special Attack combined with Primordial Sea, which boosts its STAB attacks to the point of doing absurd levels of damage, and making it hard for even mons who resist Water type attacks to switch in.
* Due to its 100 / 90 / 160 in its defenses, it has a reasonably easy time switching into attacks from its opponents, especially ones from special attackers.
* Because of its high offensive stats and defensive stats, Kyogre's best match-up tends to be vs bulkier teams, where it is capable of running multiple different sets that can tear through the most defensive mons in the tier, such as Lugia or Blissey.
* It is also one of the most viable rest/talk abusers in the tier, meaning that it is capable as acting as a solid status sponge - which is incredibly useful in a meta filled with toxic spam.
* However there are a number of flaws that Kyogre possesses - especially in newer generations. It can be difficult to build teams with Kyogre since it can't be seen as a dedicated 'check' to anything. Futhermore with Primal Groudon being able to switch in and nullify Kyogre's water STAB moves and mons such as Ferrothorn and Arceus Water (if Kyogre is not running thunder) bring mostly unphased by Kyogres attacks, Kyogre's ability to be an offensive prowess in the Ubers metagame is quite restricted.
* This is also not helped by the fact that Kyogre's base 90 speed is quite lackluster, even if users choose to forgo the Blue Orb and choose to run the niche option of a choice scarf - considering that in its base forme or with a Blue Orb it's outpaced by a significant amount of the mons in the Ubers tier, and even with a choice scarf, it's outpaced by other common scarfers such as Yveltal and Xerneas. However, Kyogre does certainly compensate for this lack of speed with the bulk that it offers.

==============

Moves:
========
* Ultra Sun and moon gave Primal Kyogre access to the new move, Liquidation which combined with a base 150 attack can threaten just about anything that doesn't resist it
* Earthquake is a crucial move to run on physical variants, since it allows you to hit Primal Groudon, which often tends to invest in a lot of SpD to deal with Xerneas so therefore takes little damage from ice beam
* Ice beam is useful to hit common threats such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza and Giratina
* Thunder is useful to hit opposing Primal Kyogre's and Arceus Water, and is the only move in Physical Kyogre's set that can 2HKO Celesteela.
* Brick Break is a more niche option that has a 35% chance to 2HKO Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock

Set Details:
===========
* Maximum HP is used so that Kyogre takes minimal damage from opponents. Having a hp of over 400 is also useful as it takes less than 25% from chansey's seismic toss
* Maximum attack is useful so that Liquidation and Earthquake do maximum damage vs opponents. One noteworthy benefit is having a 99% chance to 2HKO Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock.
* 4 SpA and a Brave Nature is useful for ensuring a 2HKO on Giratina-Origin (Also Arceus-Water) . A Brave nature is useful for maximising bulk and damage output, and since speed is one of Primal Kyogre's lower stats, it isn't really phased by losing any.
* Blue Orb is required for Kyogre to become Primal Kyogre

Usage Tips:
=========
* This set, like most offensive Kyogre sets is to be used as a solid wallbreaker. Avoid using this during the early stages of the game, when its checks such as Ferrothorn are still active. It is important to keep in mind that variants without Brick Break are hard walled by Ferrothorn.
* The main difference between standard wallbreaking Primal Kyogre sets and the Physical variant is it's improved matchup vs bulkier teams, since Liquidation has a 30% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
* The physical set also takes advantage of the fact that Kyogre's presence on the field invites Primal Groudon in. While Primal Groudon is still alive, use earthquake religiously.

Team Options:
===========
* Xerneas is a brilliant team partner for Physical Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is able to 2HKO Xerneas' most common checks (Especially Primal Groudon) which eases up Xerneas' opportunities to be able to sweep through teams. Choice scarf variants of Xerneas also pair well with Primal Kyogre it has access to aromatherapy, which Primal Kyogre really appreciates.

[Set COMMENTS]

Moves:
=========
* Calm mind boosts Kyogre's already ridiculously high Special Attack and Special Defense, and turns it into a very powerful wallbreaker
* Origin Pulse is Kyogre's main STAB move. When this is combined with calm mind and rain, Kyogre becomes one of the hardest mons to switch into in the tier. Being able to outright OHKO just about any mon that doesn't resist water and being able to 2HKO Chansey, Blissey and Ferrothorn after a single boost. However scald can be a useful option as neither Chansey nor Blissey are able to run leftovers, so it can help wear down confide sets.
* Ice beam offers good coverage against those mons who commonly resist water, such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza and both Giratina formes. It is also useful for being able to OHKO physically defensive Zygarde complete.
* Substitute is incredibly useful on Primal Kyogre, due to the amount of switches that it naturally forces, and provides Kyogre with the opportunity to boost quite easily. It also helps significantly vs bulkier teams, since Chansey and Blissey aren't able to break it's substitute with seismic toss and Ferrothorn is unable to break its substitute with Gyro Ball.
* Thunder is useful for improving matchups vs opposing Kyogres, Arceus Water and Toxapex. However, none of Arceus Water's moves actually break Primal Kyogres substitute, so Arceus Water is only really posed as a threat if it's able to land a toxic before Primal gets a substitute up. It should also be noted that Toxapex is 2HKO'd by a +1 Origin Pulse, so it isn't able to effectively haze + recover anyway.

Set Details:
==========
* Maximum EV's in HP is useful for taking minimal damage vs opponents. Especially since Primal Kyogre is quite slow so it's naturally going to be taking hits. Maximum HP investment is also essential for dealing with mons such as Chansey and Blissey so that it takes 2 seismic tosses to break its Substitute, allowing easy opportunities to set up
* Maximum Special attack and a Modest nature allows for maximum damage output.
0 Atk IVs and 4 IVs in Defense is to prevent the risk of being 2HKO'd by Yveltal's Foul Play.

Usage Tips:
===========
* Use Primal Kyogre mid to late-game when its checks (mainly Primal Groudon) have been removed from the field so it can keep its weather and break through teams easily
* If Primal Kyogre is used early on in the game, avoid setting up until later on in the game.
* Consider the fact that STAB + Rain + 110 Base power tends to do more damage than ice beam does, even to mons that resist water, and only use Ice beam on Primal Groudon and mons that are weak to ice
* Keep in mind that Primal Kyogre's speed is quite mediocre in the ubers tier, and this set is also running minimal speed, so it will be taking a lot of damage, Primal Kyogre's special bulk is one of its most impressive stats so Primal Kyogre will have an easier time setting up vs special attackers

Team Options:
============
* Xerneas + Primal Kyogre will always make a solid duo, as Kyogre is able to deal with many of the steel types that Xerneas checks, as well as wear down Primal Groudon and easily put them in range of a +2 moonblast from Xerneas.
* Any offensive variant of Primal Kyogre will also appreciate Volt/Turn cores - since it's a very bulky mon without any access to recovery so ultimately it doesn't appreciate having to take chip damage before switching in.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Groudon is able to threaten common answers to Primal Kyogre. Most notably opposing Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn.

* 252 HP + 88 Def allows Primal Kyogre to always survive a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon, a Double Edge from Mega Salamence, a Close Combat from Lucario and Life Orb Marshadow, A +2 Extreme Speed from Ekiller Arceus a Brave Bird from Life Orb Ho-oh and Power Whip from Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock.
* 252 HP + 88 Def with 0 IVs and a negative nature in Atk also prevents Primal Kyogre from being 2HKO'd by Scarf Yveltal's Foul Play, Defensive Ho-oh's Brave Bird and Earthquakes from Arceus Ground (Though it has to be careful about Z moves),

Usage Tips:
===========
* This set can be used as a defensive pivot throughout the battle, due to its solid bulk and limited switchins.
* Scald is quite can be useful for spreading burns and is quite spammable once Primal Groudon is removed from the field
* Avoid using this mon while checks such as Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn are on the field. Ferrothorn is particularly troublesome for defensive Kyogre (especially variants with toxic) as it's only really annoyed by burns, and recover that damage back with ease by abusing Leech Seed.
* Although the EV spread is designed to deal with strong physical attackers relatively well, it still prefers not to be in a position where it has to face them 1v1, particularly those who boost their physical attack easily such as Rayquaza, Mega Salamence, Mega Lucario and Primal Groudon, so avoid switching into these mons if possible.

Team Options:
==============
* Rest Talk Primal Kyogre tends to be more suited to bulkier teams, since it doesn't generate a significant amount of offensive pressure
* Checks to Ferrothorn such as Primal Groudon and Ho-oh are absolutely crucial for this mon to be effective, as Ferrothorn hard walls this mon.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is typically able to take care of the few mons that standard Primal Groudon's struggle with and vice-versa
* Hex abusers such as Giratina and Mega Gengar appreciate Primal Kyogre's ability to spread status (especially toxic variants)
* Dedicated checks to Xerneas are still important, as even though Primal Kyogre can always live a hit from a boosted Xerneas, it does very little damage to it in return.
*Support Arceus Ground is an especially useful partner, as it's able to threaten many of the mons that can set up and threaten Kyogre such as Lucario, Mega Salamence, Primal Groudon

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options:
==============
* A more niche option is to forgo the Blue Orb and run a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs set. However both of these sets are threatened by Both Primal Groudon and Kyogre as they remove its rain. Kyogres low speed tier also means that it's easily weakened or revenge killed by faster mons who are able to weaken its Water Spout.
* A calm mind set with Icium Z and Blizzard is a niche option for taking out Primal Groudon, however this restricts your team building and is hard to justify using this set in place of a sub + calm mind set with a Blue Orb

Checks and counters:
===============
**Primal Groudon**: One of the biggest threats to Primal Kyogre as it's immune to water and it can do massive amounts of damage to all sets with Precipice Blades. However it hasto be weary of Earthquakes from physical variants.

**Ferrothorn**: Ferrothorn hard walls physical variants. It can threaten all variants of Primal Kyogre if it's running power whip, but has to be weary of Calm Mind Primal Kyogres as it's 2HKO'd by a +1 origin pulse

**Bulky Water types**: Toxapex and Tentacruel are all relatively unphased by Kyogre's water stab moves. The latter two are unphased by Kyogre setting up as they both run Haze. However, all of these mons have to worry about Thunder and the latter two have to worry about earthquake on the physical variants

**Dragon Types**: " Dragon types all resist water type moves and tend to have enough natural bulk to not be too fussed about Primal Kyogre's offensive stats + rain. Noteworthy examples of these are Giratina, Palkia and Dialga. Giratina can wall Physical variants of Primal Kyogre and can just spam Toxic + Rest and Palkia and Dialga take neutral damage at best from Kyogre's coverage moves. None of these mons however appreciate dealing with calm mind variants as they struggle to switch into Primal Kyogre's attacks once it's at +1, Dialga also has to be careful when dealing with the Physical version as it's 2HKO'd by Earthquake."

**Revenge Killers**: Most Primal Kyogre sets lack any form of recovery so are easily susceptible to being revenge killed. Especially those mons who can abuse Primal Kyogre's weaker physical defense such as Salamence, Mewtwo, Lucario and Marshadow and Swords Dance Arceus Formes.

physical primal kyogre

set:
can't believe i'm the second person to check this and the set wasn't mentioned. you want to run a split of 80 hp/252 atk/176 speed with an adamant nature. this ensures you outspeed any rock polish or support primal groudon and even geoxern pre-boosts. solid speed tier which makes it an even more effective quad attacker. of course you can run naughty or lonely nature, but that takes a lot of kyogre's natural bulk away, so adamant is generally preferred.

usage tips:
* The physical set also takes advantage of the fact that Kyogre's presence on the field invites Primal Groudon in. While Primal Groudon is still alive, use earthquake religiously.
not a big fan of this point. it isn't worth going for a prediction EQ in a lot of situations. the reason for this is that you outspeed any primal groudon after it switches in. you can get a free EQ as they set stealth rock or take your ice beam chip and switch to a ground immune if you think they'll click blades.

getting kyogre in on primal groudon can often mean you get a kill vs many teams! this should definitely be stressed as it is one of the most important things to remember when using kyogre.

saving kyogre's health vs offensive teams can be effective if they potentially have a mixed primal groudon in the back.

team options:
* Anything that is able to take care of Ferrothorn is really useful for Primal Kyogre since it's the biggest threat to this variation. The most noteworthy options are Primal Groudon and Ho-oh as well as trappers such as Gothitelle.
i really like the mention of gothitelle here, though you have to be careful about listing primal groudon and ho oh as answers for ferrothorn. you ideally want to trap and remove it, lure it with something like fire blast fairyceus, or block seeds recovery with a grass type/magic bouncer. ho oh and primal groudon give ferrothorn leech recovery and give it the chance to set spikes so while they're decent team partners, they don't take on ferrothorn very well!

i don't mind the point about using pivots to get kyogre in, since it is safer for kyogre than double switching it in. please remove the part about ogre being slow though since it actually has an average speed tier and will be faster than a lot of the bulky mons it wants to get in on.

spikes users are solid, specifically ferrothorn since you can prevent opposing ferro from healing with leech. it also forms a solid fire/grass/water core with primal groudon/ho oh which is one of the most classic defensive cores in the book.

calm mind attacker

set:
again these evs are killing me, they're super outdated. blobs now run confide to deal with ogre rather than seismic. 252 hp hasn't been relevant for sub + cm ogre in awhile. here are the evs im proposing. other qc feel free to disagree.

Kyogre-Primal @ Blue Orb
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 32 HP / 116 Def / 200 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Origin Pulse
- Ice Beam

4 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 32 HP / 116 Def Kyogre-Primal: 74-87 (21.2 - 24.9%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252+ SpA Griseous Orb Giratina-Origin Shadow Ball vs. +1 32 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre-Primal: 20.9 - 24.9%
252 SpA Gengar-Mega Shadow Ball vs. +1 32 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre-Primal: 20.6 - 24.3%
252+ SpA Yveltal Oblivion Wing vs. +1 32 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre-Primal: 64-76 (18.3 - 21.7%) -- possible 5HKO

this spread is nasty as it allows you to sub on relevant threats, as well as be fast enough to outspeed geoxern pre-geo. makes you more solid vs offense and allows you to outpace things while being harder to revenge kill. should also outspeed all rock polish primal groudons and support primal groudons.

moves:
talk about pokemon that substitute abuses. the big part of sub + cm ogre is being able to exploit ferrothorn.

set details:
mention what the evs do. i listed the big things above^^

mention alternative evs for calm mind kyogre lacking substitute.

usage tips:
* Keep in mind that Primal Kyogre's speed is quite mediocre in the ubers tier, and this set is also running minimal speed, so it will be taking a lot of damage, Primal Kyogre's special bulk is one of its most impressive stats so Primal Kyogre will have an easier time setting up vs special attackers
fix the speed comment since we're running a decent speed tier now.

watch out for the rare power whip ferrothorn. having a way to exploit the lack of a steel move through a different pokemon will be be appreciated.

mention saving health for mixed primal groudon here, as kyogre is one of the more fantastic answers for this set.

team partners:
defog is useful so you don't have to take spikes/tspikes/sr before setting up with substitutes. kyogre's health is a scarce resource and you'll usually only get the chance to set up once.

pokemon that are generally not solid vs ferrothorn teams can really appreciate this pokemon's ability to take advantage of ferrothorn. pokemon like celes, fairyceus, support groundceus etc will enjoy this kyogre's ability to exploit what is normally seen as a solid ogre check, and even counter to physical kyogre.

defensive kyogre

usage tips:
* Avoid using this mon while checks such as Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn are on the field. Ferrothorn is particularly troublesome for defensive Kyogre (especially variants with toxic) as it's only really annoyed by burns, and recover that damage back with ease by abusing Leech Seed.
this point is wrong honestly. defensive kyogre should be used throughout the battle. burning and toxicing these 2 checks specifically makes it easier to break their team. also you ideally want a leech seed absorber on a defensive kyogre balance.

keep this pokemon healthy enough to take on mixed primal groudon if your team doesn't have other solid counterplay to it, and their build appears to have an offensive pdon!

team options:
grass types or magic bounce are usually wanted on a defensive kyogre balance. this lets you stop leech seed recovery in its tracks from pokemon such as ferrothorn.

defog is important to have since you want longevity and balance on a defensive kyogre team.

strategy comments

checks and counters:
confide blobs can easily take on the 2 secondary kyogre sets, and only fear physical kyogre. once they scout your set it becomes a solid counter.

grass types such as grassceus and mega venu have become prevalent in the SM and USM ubers meta so it is important to be wary of these as well.

Nayrz edit: use 152 EVs for max speed Adamant Dusk/Dawn, 160 is speed creep which we don't follow in C&C

please implement and highlight me when you're done making fixes. ill stamp once you've done all this

quick fix to evs that nayrz wanted me to mention:

on the calm mind + substitute set, the speed EV's should result in ogre hitting 254 speed to outspeed 252 speed invested adamant/modest Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings rather than speed creeping geoxern. it is safe to mention that you'll outspeed most rock polish groudon variants though. the new split should be 32hp/116 def/208 spa/152 spe

on the physical set, mention that the speed tier outpaces max speed neutral natured base 80s. this will also outpace standard geoxern and all primal groudon sets other than a jolly SD + SR set.

[OVERVIEW]
* Primal Kyogre is one of the most solid wallbreakers in the tier, boasting a Base 150 in Attack and a Base 180 in Special Attack solid offensive stats (simply listing a Pokemon's stats and not saying anything about them is generally frowned upon, since it provides no new information when this is already shown at the top of every dex entry) combined with Primordial Sea, which boosts its STAB attacks to the point of doing absurd levels of damage, and making and makes it hard for even mons who resist Water type Pokemon that resist Water-type attacks to switch in.
* Due to its 100 / 90 / 160 in its defenses bulk (defenses does not include HP), it has a reasonably easy time switching into attacks from its opponents, especially ones from special attackers (perhaps mention some specific threats that its bulk allows it to check? you're kinda just repeating dex info).
* Because of its high offensive stats and defensive stats, Primal Kyogre's best match-up matchup tends to be vs bulkier teams, where asit is capable of running multiple different sets that can tear through the most defensive mons Pokemon in the tier, such as Lugia or andBlissey.
* It is also one of the most viable rest/talk RestTalk abusers (abuse means to use in a negative way, this is not the case here) in the tier, meaning that it is capable as acting as a solid status sponge, (AC) - which is incredibly useful in a metagame filled with toxic Toxic spam.
* However there are a number of flaws that Primal Kyogre possesses - especially in newer generations. It (fluff) However, it can be difficult to build teams with Primal Kyogre, (AC) since it can't be seen as a dedicated 'check' check to anything.
* (split these up because they're really different points) Furthermore with Primal Groudon being able to switch in and nullify Primal Kyogre's water STAB moves and mons such as Ferrothorn and Arceus Water - if Primal Kyogre is running Thunder - being mostly unfazed by Kyogre’s attacks, Kyogre's ability to be an offensive prowess in the Ubers metagame is quite restricted. Furthermore, Primal Groudon's ability to switch in and nullify Primal Kyogre's Water-type STAB moves, as well as Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Arceus-Water being mostly unfazed by non-Thunder Primal Kyogre restricts its offensive prowess in the Ubers metagame.
* This is also not helped by the fact that Primal Kyogre's base 90 speed Speed stat is quite lacklustre, as in its base forme or with a Blue Orb it is outpaced by a significant portion of the Ubers tier. (AP) even if users Even if you choose to forgo the Blue Orb and choose to run the niche option of a choice scarf Choice Scarf - considering that in its base forme or with a Blue Orb it's outpaced by a significant amount of the mons in the Ubers tier, and even with a choice scarf, it's stilloutpaced by other common scarfers Choice Scarf users such as Yveltal and Xerneas. However, Kyogre does certainly compensate for this lack of speed with the bulk that it offers.

Moves:
=========
* Calm mind Calm Mind boosts Kyogre's already ridiculously high Special Attack and Special Defense, (RC) and turns it into a very powerful wallbreaker. (AP)
* Origin Pulse is Kyogre's main STAB move. When this is combined with calm mind and rain, Kyogre becomes one of the hardest mons to switch into in the tier. Being Origin Pulse is Kyogre's main STAB move, and in combination with Calm Mind and rain it makes Kyogre very difficult to switch into,as it is able to outright OHKO just about any mon that doesn't resist water and being able to any Pokemon that doesn't resist Water and 2HKO Chansey, Blissey, (AC) and Ferrothorn after a single boost. However, scald Scald can be a useful option, (AC) as neither Chansey nor Blissey are able to run leftovers Leftovers, so it can help wear down confide Confide sets.
* Ice beam Beam offers good coverage against those mons who commonly resist water common Pokemon that resist Water, such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza and both Giratina formes. It is also useful for being able its ability to OHKO physically defensive Zygarde complete Zygarde-C.
* Substitute is incredibly useful on Primal Kyogre, due to the number of switches that it naturally forces, and it provides Kyogre with the opportunity to boost quite easily. It also helps significantly vs bulkier teams, since Chansey and Blissey aren't able to break its substitute Substitute with seismic toss Seismic Toss and Ferrothorn is unable to break its substitute Substitute with Gyro Ball.
* Thunder is useful for improving matchups vs opposing Kyogres, Arceus Water and Toxapex improves Primal Kyogre's matchup against opposing Kyogre, Arceus-Water, and Toxapex. However, none of Arceus Water's Arceus-Water's moves actually break Primal Kyogres substitute Primal Kyogre's Substitute, so Arceus Water is only really posed as a threat if it's able to land a toxic before Primal gets a substitute up Arceus-Water only really poses a threat if it's able to land a Toxic before Primal Kyogre gets a Substitute up. It should also be noted that Toxapex is 2HKO'd 2HKOed by a +1 Origin Pulse, so it isn't able to effectively haze + recover use Haze + Recover anyway.

* 152 Speed EVs allows Primal Kyogre to hit a speed tier of 254 254 Speed, giving it the ability to outpace maximum Speed Necrozma-DW and Necrozma-DM, as well as non-maximum Speed Jolly Primal Groudon. This is mostly to outpace max speed Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma, but still allows you to outpace standard Primal Groudon sets – with the exception of the Jolly Swords Dance + Stealth Rock variants.
* Keep in mind that this spread is outpaced by standard Geomancy Xerneas by 1 point, so it is better to switch into your dedicated Xerneas check rather than try to OHKO Geomancy Xerneas after Stealth Rock. (moving this to usage tips because that's what it is) Alternatively, a spread with 32 HP / 116 Def / 200 SpA / 160 Spe can be ran run in order to outpace Geomancy Xerneas and OHKO it after Stealth Rock before it sets up, but you sacrifice some potentially crucial bulk in order to do so.
* 32 HP + and 118 Defense allows for Primal Kyogre to always live a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock as well as ensure that a Gyro Ball from 8 Atk Attack Ferrothorn never breaks Primal Kyogre’s substitute Substitutes.
* 32 HP also prevents Oblivion Wing from Modest Choice Scarf Yveltal and Shadow Balls from Giratina-O and Mega Gengar from breaking Primal Kyogre’s substitutes Substitutes.
* The rest of these theEVs are put into Special Attack in order for maximum to maximize damage output.

Usage Tips:
===========
* Use Primal Kyogre mid to late-game mid- or late-game when its checks have been removed from the field so it can keep its weather and break through teams easily
* If Primal Kyogre is used early on in the game, avoid setting up until later on in the game.
* Consider the fact that STAB + Rain + 110 Base power tends to do more damage than ice beam does, even to mons that resist water, and only use Ice beam on Primal Groudon and mons that are weak to ice Remember that a STAB rain-boosted 110-Base Power Origin Pulse tends to do more damage than Ice Beam does, even to Pokemon that resist Water, so only use it on Primal Groudon and Pokemon that are weak to Ice.
* Keep in mind that this spread is outpaced by standard Geomancy Xerneas by 1 point, so it is better to switch into your dedicated Xerneas check rather than trying to OHKO Geomancy Xerneas after Stealth Rock.
* Like the physical variant, bringing Primal Kyogre in vs Primal Groudon is likely to claim a free kill, so try and do so – preferably with pivoting moves such as u-turn. Similarly to the physical variant, bringing Primal Kyogre in vs Primal Groudon is likely to claim a free KO, so try to do so, preferably with a pivoting move such as U-turn.

It can also remove hazards from the field, which is important on the balance sort of structure onthe balance teams that Primal Kyogre performs best in

Other Options:
==============
* A more niche option is to forgo the Blue Orb and run a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs set. However, both of these sets are threatened by Both Primal Groudon and Kyogre as they remove its rain Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, as they remove its rain. Kyogres low speed tier Kyogre's low Speed tier also means that it's easily weakened or revenge killed by faster mons who Pokemon that are able to weaken its Water Spout.

Checks and counters:
===============
**Primal Groudon**: One Primal Groudon is one of the biggest threats to Primal Kyogre, (AC) as it's immune to water Water, and it can do massive amounts of damage to all sets with Precipice Blades. However, it has to be wary of Earthquakes from physical variants.

**Ferrothorn**: Ferrothorn hard walls physical variants. It can threaten all variants of Primal Kyogre if it's running power whip Power Whip, butithas to be weary of Calm Mind Primal Kyogres as it's 2HKO'd by a +1 origin pulse Kyogre, as it's 2HKOed by a +1 Origin Pulse.

**Bulky Grass Types Bulky Grass-types**: Arceus Grass and Mega Venusaur have become more popular in the USUM ubers meta, so it is important to be wary of them Arceus-Grass and Mega Venusaur can... (explain how they threaten ogre or w/e here, atm you're not really giving any important information to the reader).

**Bulky Water Types Bulky Water-types**: Toxapex and Tentacruel are all relatively unfazed by Kyogre's water stab Water-type STAB moves. The latter two are unfazed by Kyogre setting up, and they also don't mind Kyogre setting up, as they both run Haze. However, all of these mons have to worry about Thunder and the latter two have to worry about earthquake on the physical variants However, both Pokemon have to worry about Thunder and Earthquake from physical variants. (assuming you removed something here and forgot to update)

**Dragon Types Dragon-types**: Dragon types all resist water type Dragon-types all resist Water-type moves and tend to have enough natural bulk to not be too fussed about Primal Kyogre's offensive stats + rain offensive stats and rain. Noteworthy examples of these are Giratina, Palkia, (AC) and Dialga. Giratina can wall Physical physical variants of Primal Kyogre and can just spam Toxic + Rest stall it out with Toxic and Rest, and Palkia and Dialga take neutral damage at best from Kyogre's coverage moves. None of these mons however appreciates dealing with calm mind variants as they struggle to switch into Primal Kyogre's attacks once it's at +1, Dialga also has to be careful when dealing with the Physical version as it's 2HKO'd by Earthquake." However, none of these Pokemon appreciate dealing with Calm Mind variants, as they struggle to switch into Primal Kyogre's attacks once it's at +1. Dialga also has to be careful with physical Kyogre, as it's 2HKOed by Earthquake.

**Revenge Killers**: Most Primal Kyogre sets lack any form of recovery, (AC) which makes them easily susceptible to being revenge killed. Especially those mons who can abuse Primal Kyogre's weaker physical defense such as Salamence, Mewtwo, Lucario and Marshadow and Swords Dance Arceus Formes. Pokemon that can take advantage of Primal Kyogre's lower Defense stat such as Salamence, Mewtwo, Lucario, Marshadow, and Swords Dance Arceus formes are particularly problematic.

**Chansey and Blissey**: these mons have tended to opt for Confide over Seismic Toss so they end up becoming rather menacing to Special versions of Primal Kyogre Chansey and Blissey tend to use Confide over Seismic Toss, making them difficult for special variants of Primal Kyogre to deal with.

[OVERVIEW]
* Primal Kyogre is one of the most solid wallbreakers in the tier, boasting solid offensive stats combined with Primordial Sea, which boosts its STAB attacks to the point of doing absurd levels of damage,(RC) and makes it hard for even mons who Pokemon that resist Water type Pokemon to switch in.
* Due to its 100 / 90 / 160 bulk, it Primal Kyogre has a reasonably easy time switching into attacks from its opponentsfoes, especially ones from special attackers.
* Because of its high offensive stats and defensive stats, Primal Kyogre's best matchup tends to be vs against bulkier teams, as it is capable of running multiple different sets that can tear through the most defensive Pokemon in the tier, such as Lugia and Blissey.
* It is also one of the most viable RestTalk users in the tier, meaning that it is capable as of acting as a solid status sponge, which is incredibly useful in a metagame filled with Toxic spam.
* However, it can be difficult to build teams with Primal Kyogre,(AC) since it can't be seen as a dedicated check to anything.
* Furthermore,(AC) Primal Groudon's ability to switch in and nullify Primal Kyogre's Water-type STAB moves, as well as Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Arceus-Water being mostly unfazed by non-Thunder Primal Kyogre,(AC) restricts its offensive prowess in the Ubers metagame.
* Kyogre's base 90 Speed is quite lacklustrelackluster, as in its base forme or with a Blue Orb (both formes have the same Speed) it is outpaced by a significant portion of the ubers tier. Even if you choose to forgo the Blue Orb and choose to run the niche option of a Choice Scarf, it's still outpaced by other common Choice Scarf users such as Yveltal and Xerneas. However, Kyogre does certainly compensate for this lack of Speed with the bulk that it offers.

Moves

* Ultra Sun and moon gave Primal Kyogre access to the new move,(RC) Liquidation which in combination with Primal Kyogre's base 150 Attack stat and rain (seems important) can threaten just about anything that doesn't resist it.
* Earthquake is a crucial move to run on physical variants, since it allows you Kyogre to hit Primal Groudon, which often tends to invest in a lot of Special Defense to deal with Xerneas, so it takes little damage from Ice Beam.(period)
* Ice Beam is useful to hit common threats such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza,(AC) and Giratina.(period)
* Thunder is useful to hit opposing Primal Kyogre and Arceus-Water,(RC) and is the only way for physical Primal Kyogre to 2HKO Celesteela.
* Brick Break is a more niche option that has a 35% chance to 2HKO Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock damage.

Set Details

* 32 HP + 64 Def EVs allows Kyogre to survive a Brave Bird from Ho-oh after Stealth Rock, a greater than 50% chance to survive a Precipice Blades from Adamant Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock as well as a Double Edge from Mega Salamence.

* The remainder of the EVs are placed into Attack for maximum damage output along with an Adamant nature.
* Blue Orb is required for Kyogre to become Primal Kyogre.(period)

Usage Tips
=========
* This set, like most offensive Kyogre sets, is to be used as a solid wallbreaker. Avoid using it during the early stages of the game,(RC) when its checks such as Ferrothorn are still healthy. It is important to keep in mind that variants without Brick Break are hard walled by Ferrothorn.
* The main difference between standard wallbreaking Primal Kyogre sets and the physical variant is its improved matchup vs against bulkier teams;(SC),(RC) since Liquidation has a 30% chance to OHKO Blissey after Stealth Rock.
* Try to bring Kyogre in vs against Primal Groudon, preferably through the use of a pivoting move such as U-turn, since although Primal Kyogre can take a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon, it prefers not to. Due to its offensive presence, Kyogre is likely to claim a free KO against your opponent once it gets safely on the field.

Team Options
===========
* Xerneas is a brilliant team partner for physical Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is able to 2HKO Xerneas's most common checks, most notably Primal Groudon, which allows Xerneas to more easily sweep a team. Choice Scarf Xerneas also pairs well with Primal Kyogre, as it appreciates Aromatherapy support.
* VoltTurn cores are incredibly useful for Primal Kyogre, (un-bold the comma) since it's a rather slow Pokemon without any recovery, and so it appreciates being brought in without having to take chip damage. Noteworthy VoltTurn users include Yveltal, Mega Scizor, and Magearna. Yveltal is an especially noteworthy good partner, since it also appreciates Kyogre's ability to break through specially defensive Pokemon such as Blissey and Chansey.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is typically able to take care of the few mons Pokemon that standard Primal Groudon's Groudon sets struggle with (such as...?) and vice-versa.
* Anything that is able to take care of Ferrothorn is a good partner for Primal Kyogre,(RC) since it's because Ferrothorn (repetition) the biggest threat to physical sets. The most noteworthy options are trappers such as Gothitelle. Lures such as Fire Blast Arceus-Fairy are also quite useful.
* Ferrothorn is a useful partner for Kyogre, as it’s it's (curly apostrophes mess up formatting on the dex) able to switch in on into Leech Seed from opposing Ferrothorn. It also forms a solid Fire / Water / Grass core with Primal Kyogre when paired with Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
=========
* Calm Mind boosts Kyogre's already ridiculously high Special Attack and Special Defense and turns it into a very powerful wallbreaker.
* Origin Pulse is Kyogre's main STAB move,(RC) and in combination with Calm Mind and rain it makes Kyogre very difficult to switch into, as it is (un-bolded this) able to outright OHKO any Pokemon that doesn't resist Water and being able to 2HKO Chansey, Blissey, and Ferrothorn after a single boost. However, Scald can be a useful option, as neither Chansey nor Blissey are able to (they are technically able to) run Leftovers, so it can help wear down Confide sets.
* Ice Beam offers good coverage against common Pokemon that resist Water, such as Mega Salamence, Rayquaza,(AC) and both Giratina formes. It is also useful for its ability to OHKO physically defensive Zygarde-C.
* Substitute is incredibly useful on Primal Kyogre,(RC) due to the number of switches that it naturally forces, and it provides Kyogre with the opportunity to boost quite easily. It also helps significantly vs against bulkier teams, as attacks from defensive checks such as Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball are unable to break its Substitute with Gyro Ball. (wording here implies that all defensive checks can't break Substitute with Gyro Ball)
It should also be noted that Toxapex is 2HKOed by a +1 Origin Pulse, so it isn't able to effectively Haze + Recover anyway.

Set Details
==========
* 152 Speed EVs allows allow Primal Kyogre to hit 254 Speed, giving it the ability to outpace maximum Speed Necrozma-DW and Necrozma-DM, as well as non-maximum Speed Jolly Primal Groudon.
* Alternatively, an EV spread with of 32 HP / 116 Def / 200 SpA / 160 Spe can be run in order to outpace Geomancy Xerneas and OHKO it after Stealth Rock before it sets up, but you Kyogre sacrifices some potentially crucial bulk in order to do so.
* 32 HP EVs and 118 Defense EVs allows allow Primal Kyogre to always live survive a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock as well as ensure that a Gyro Ball from 8 Attack Ferrothorn never breaks Primal Kyogre’s SubstitutesKyogre's Substitute.
* The 32 HP EVs also prevents prevent Oblivion Wing from Modest Choice Scarf Yveltal and Shadow Balls Ball from Giratina-O and Mega Gengar from breaking Primal Kyogre’s Kyogre's Substitute.
* The rest of the EVs are put into Special Attack in order for maximum to maximize damage output along with a Modest nature.
* 0 Attack IVs are used in order to take minimum damage from Foul Play. (or something along those lines, but you should mention why they are there)

Usage Tips
===========
* Use Primal Kyogre mid-(AH) or late-game when its checks have been removed from the field so it can keep its weather and break through teams easily.(period)
* If Primal Kyogre is used early on in the game, avoid setting up until later on in the game.
* Remember that a STAB rain-boosted 110-Base Power STAB Origin Pulse tends to do more damage than Ice Beam does, even to Pokemon that resist Water, so only use it on Primal Groudon and Pokemon that are weak to Ice.
* Keep in mind that this spread set is outpaced by standard Geomancy Xerneas by 1 point, so it is better to switch into your dedicated Xerneas check rather than try and to OHKO Geomancy Xerneas after Stealth Rock.
* Similarly to the physical variant, bringing Primal Kyogre in vs against Primal Groudon is likely to claim a free KO, so try to do so, preferably with a pivoting move such as U-turn.

Team Options
============
* Xerneas + Primal Kyogre will always and Primal Kyogre make a solid duo, as Kyogre is able to deal with many of the Steel-(AH)types that Xerneas checkscheck Xerneas, as well as wear down Primal Groudon and easily put it in range of a +2 Moonblast from Xerneas.
* A more niche option is in the form of Groundium Z Dugtrio,(RC) as it is able to trap and completely remove Primal Groudon from the field.

Moves
=========
* Scald is a high-Base Power decently powerful (80-Base Power is not high) STAB move with a large amount of PP and is useful for spreading burns, which can compensate for Kyogre's relatively low Defense stat.

* Sleep Talk is to maintain momentum while Kyogre is asleep.
* Ice Beam allows Kyogre to still damage Primal Groudon when the sun is up and also punish common threats such as Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence,(AC) and Rayquaza.(period)
* Toxic punishes just about every Kyogre switch-in with the exception of Ferrothorn.

Set Details
===========
* 252 HP EVs, 168 Special Defense EVs, and a Calm nature allows allow Primal Kyogre to act as a solid answer to strong special wallbreakers such as Yveltal as well as a counter to all common support Arceus formes.
* 252 HP and 88 Defense EVs allows allow Primal Kyogre to always survive Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon, Double-(AH)Edge from Mega Salamence, Close Combat from Lucario and Life Orb Marshadow, +2 Extreme Speed from Extreme Killer Arceus, Brave Bird from Life Orb Ho-Oh,(AC) and Power Whip from Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock.
* 252 HP EVs and 88 Defense EVs along with 0 IVs and a negative nature in Attack also prevents prevent Primal Kyogre from being 2HKOed by Choice Scarf Yveltal's Foul Play, defensive Ho-Oh's Brave Bird, and Arceus-Ground's Earthquake, though it has to be careful of Z-Move variants.

Usage Tips
===========
* This set can be used as a defensive pivot throughout the battle,(RC) due to its solid bulk and limited switch-ins.
* Scald can be useful for spreading burns and is quite spammable once Primal Groudon is KOed.(period)
* Primal Kyogre is brilliant for spreading status. While its checks are still healthy, it is useful to spread burns or poison opposing Pokemon, making it easier for your other Pokemon to wear them down.
* Prioritise Prioritize keeping this mon Primal Kyogre healthy enough to survive a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon when dealing with mixed Rock Polish variants, as many teams with Kyogre in them tend to find mixed Rock Polish Primal Groudon difficult to switch into.
* Although the EV spread is designed to deal with strong physical attackers relatively well, Primal Kyogre still prefers not to have to face them in a 1v1 one-on-one scenario, particularly those that boost their Attack easily such as Rayquaza, Mega Salamence, Mega Lucario, and Primal Groudon, so avoid switching it into these Pokemon if possible.

Team Options
==============
* RestTalk Primal Kyogre tends to be more suited to for bulkier teams, since it doesn't generate a significant amount of offensive pressure.
* Checks to Ferrothorn such as Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh are absolutely crucial for Primal Kyogre to be effective, as Ferrothorn hard walls it.
* Primal Groudon forms a solid wallbreaking core with Primal Kyogre, since Primal Kyogre is typically able to take care of the few mons Pokemon that standard Primal Groudon struggles with and vice-versa.(period)
* Pokemon that can take advantage of Hex users (they take advantage of status, not the move) such as Giratina and Mega Gengar appreciate Primal Kyogre's ability to spread statuscan take advantage of the status that Primal Kyogre spreads, especially from Toxic variants.

* Support
Arceus Ground is an especially useful partner, as it's able to threaten many of the Pokemon that can set up on and threaten Primal Kyogre such as Lucario, Mega Salamence, and Primal Groudon. * Grass-(AH)type Pokemon and Magic Bounce users are brilliant on teams with defensive Kyogre, as they’re they're able to prevent Ferrothorn from recovering by spamming Leech Seed.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
==============
* A more niche option is to forgo the Blue Orb and run a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs set with Water Spout. However, both of these sets are threatened by Primal Groudon and Kyogre, as they remove its rain. Kyogres Kyogre's low Speed tier also means that it's easily weakened or revenge killed by faster Pokemon that are able to weaken its Water Spout.
* A Calm Mind set with Icium Z and Blizzard is a niche option for taking out Primal Groudon; however, this restricts teambuilding and is hard to justify in place of a Substitute + Calm Mind set with Blue Orb.

Checks and Counters
===============
**Primal Groudon**: Primal Groudon is one of the biggest threats to Primal Kyogre,(AC) as it's immune to Water when it switches in and it can do massive amounts of damage to all sets with Precipice Blades. However, it has to be wary of Earthquakes Earthquake from physical Kyogre variants.

**Ferrothorn**: Ferrothorn hard walls physical variants. It can threaten all variants of Primal Kyogre if it's running Power Whip, but it has to be wary of Calm Mind Primal Kyogre,(AC) as it's 2HKOed by a +1 Origin Pulse. (you can't be 2HKOed by one use of a move)

**Bulky Grass-(AH)types**: Arceus Grass and Mega Venusaur have become more popular in the USUM ubers meta, so it is important to be wary of them. (Arceus-Grass is C+ and Mega Venusaur is unranked; they aren't popular) Arceus Grass tends to have the bulk to not be too bothered by Ice Beams Beam from even offensive Primal Kyogre,(AC) and Mega Venusaur's ability Thick Fat means that it takes neutral damage at best from Primal Kyogre's coverage moves from Primal Kyogre and can annoy it in return with Giga Drain, Leech Seed,(AC) or Toxic.

**Bulky Water-(AH)types**: Toxapex and Tentacruel are relatively unfazed by Kyogre's water stab Water-type STAB moves, and they also don't mind Kyogre setting up, as they both run Haze. However, both Pokemon have to worry about Thunder and Earthquake from physical variants.

**Dragon-types**: " Dragon-(AH)types all such as Giratina, Palkia, and Dialga resist water type Water-type moves and tend to have enough natural bulk to not be too fussed about Primal Kyogre's offensive stats attacks and rain. Noteworthy examples of these are Giratina, Palkia, and Dialga.

First off, please proofread your analyses carefully using the Spelling and Grammar Standards before sending them off to GP. The previous checker didn't say anything, but there were simply way too many changes that had to be done that could have been easily fixed by yourself had you read the standards. Examples include you writing "mons", saying "Water Types" instead of "Water-types", and not capitalizing Pokemon and move names. You also had formatting issues during QC, and there were still some now. Please pay attention to these things next time. I don't mean to sound rude, just trying to be blunt.

Aside from that, a lot of stuff from the previous check wasn't implemented properly. Follow the video linked in that check and implement this check carefully. After, tag me and I will look over it to make sure that everything was implemented. I'll then give 2/2 when you do this. Kyogre is an important Pokemon, and I don't want a lot of missed errors on-site from poor implementation. Thanks.

* 152 Speed EVs allow Primal Kyogre to hit 254 Speed, giving it the ability to outpace maximum Speed Necrozma-DW and Necrozma-DM, as well as non-maximum Speed Jolly Primal Groudon.
* 32 HP EVs and 118 Defense EVs allow Primal Kyogre to always survive a Precipice Blades from Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock as well as ensure that a Gyro Ball from 8 Attack Ferrothorn never breaks Primal Kyogre’s Kyogre’s Kyogre's Substitute.
* 0 Attack IVs along with a Modest nature are used in order to take minimum damage from Foul Play.

Usage Tips
===========
* Use Primal Kyogre mid- or late-game when its checks have been removed from the field so it can keep its weather and break through teams easily. (period)

============

Moves
=========
* Scald is a relatively powerful STAB move with a large amount number of PP and is useful for spreading burns, which can compensate for Kyogre's relatively low Defense stat.
(period)
* Toxic punishes just about every Kyogre switch-in with the exception of Ferrothorn.

Set Details
===========

Usage Tips
===========
* This set can be used as a defensive pivot throughout the battle due to its solid bulk and limited switch-ins.
* Scald can be useful for spreading burns and is quite spammable once Primal Groudon is KOed. (period)

==============
(period)

Other Options

==============

===============
