[OVERVIEW]

Kabutops is a unique suicide lead thanks to its access to Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, and Weak Armor, which allows it to set up its own entry hazards reliably and keep opposing entry hazards off. However, it faces competition from other suicide leads like Azelf and Aerodactyl, which can reliably prevent entry hazards from being set via Taunt and have larger offensive presences. Kabutops is an extremely one-dimensional Pokemon; all of its other potential roles are heavily outclassed by other Pokemon in the tier.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock provides Kabutops with a way to cause chip damage to the opposing team. Rapid Spin ensures that Kabutops is always able to prevent entry hazards from being set. Rock Tomb helps Kabutops beat opposing entry hazard leads like Aerodactyl and Azelf while generally being able to lower the Speed of any foe before it faints. Toxic allows Kabutops to cripple and wear down foes, most notably entry hazard removers like Rotom-W and Latias, which would otherwise be hard to do considering its strongest move is Rock Tomb. Toxic can also punish Rapid Spin-immune Pokemon like Jellicent. Knock Off is an alternative to Toxic, which also allows Kabutops to cripple the Ghost-types like Doublade and Jellicent that might attempt to stop it from clearing entry hazards and is overall a great utility move.

Set Details
========

Kabutops is given maximum Speed and Attack investment with a Jolly nature to maximize its damage output and utility. Weak Armor provides it with a +2 boost in Speed if it gets hit by a physical move, allowing it to beat opposing entry hazard leads like Aerodactyl and Azelf. Focus Sash allows Kabutops to always survive at least one hit and therefore reliably set Stealth Rock or remove entry hazards.

Usage Tips
========

Use Kabutops at the beginning of games to set up Stealth Rock immediately. Once this is accomplished, there are generally a few ways of going about things. If your opponent also sets up entry hazards, using Rapid Spin repeatedly is generally the best option. Alternatively, if the opponent doesn't set up Stealth Rock, using Toxic or Rock Tomb is the best plan; Toxic is more suitable against defensive Pokemon, while Rock Tomb is better against offensive ones.

Against opposing entry hazard leads, the game plan changes a little bit. Suppose you are playing against a faster entry hazard lead like Azelf or Aerodactyl: they are likely to use Taunt, so using Rock Tomb first is best, as this allows Kabutops to come out on top, either with its own entry hazards up or without the opponent's. You must be cautious, however, of matchups against opposing entry hazard setters that are slower than Kabutops and can either burn or poison it, as this will result in Stealth Rock being up for both teams.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers like Nidoking, Mamoswine, and Scizor are great Pokemon to take advantage of the initial pressure that Kabutops can exert with Stealth Rock, as they are able to get OHKOs and 2HKOs that they would fail to achieve otherwise. Ghost-types like Doublade and Chandelure are a good way of keeping Stealth Rock on the field. Similarly, Taunt-wielding Pokemon like Cobalion, Serperior, Nidoking, and Chandelure are capable of preventing Defog. Late-game cleaners like Mega Sharpedo, Choice Scarf Latias, and Swords Dance Scizor appreciate the opposing team getting worn down by entry hazards.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Swords Dance set with Rockium Z and Swift Swim can be used on rain teams, but rain teams are very niche because of temporary weather, which renders this set rather ineffective. Aqua Jet is a possibility to get off a bit of priority damage before it faints; however, with Weak Armor,(ac) this is slightly redundant.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Rapid Spin**: Pokemon like Starmie, Mega Blastoise, and Tentacruel are capable of undoing Kabutops initial early-game work.

**Defog**: Defog users like Empoleon, Serperior, and Gliscor are capable of removing Stealth Rock from the field. Kabutops can't even slow Serperior down because of its access to Contrary.

**Setup Sweepers**: Some bulky setup sweepers like Suicune do not care about anything that Kabutops can do and will freely boost against it. Those that do not care about the Speed drop like Rock Polish Cobalion and Swords Dance Doublade can also set up against it for free.

fix the spacing in some parts and get rid of multi hit moves since they are basically non-existent - basically what we talked about on discord. personally i think c&c is a bit barren but at the same time this is really straightforward so theres also not a lot to say.

[OVERVIEW]

In the first bullet I'd probably change the second sentence a bit, since Kabutops doesn't really beat other hazard setters, rather just gets up its own rocks while preventing the opposing ones. Either that or change this phrase to mention it as other suicide leads. You do mention this in detail in the set comments, but glossing over it here probably is not a bad idea. Lastly, when you say one-dimensional, I think you can expand on that by saying that its pretty outclassed at any other thing it could do, which is essentially being a physical sweeper which Scizor, Cobalion, Mega Sharpedo and Aero etc .

Also mention how Hikari is extremely hostile and at risk of changing your username to bad memes while intoxicated

Moves

Feel like you're fluffing up the parts about Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin a bit, you can probably just say something along the lines of "sets up rocks and causes chip damage" for the former and probably don't need to say "when it's on the field" for the latter.
Kreme also says Knock Off should be slashed before Toxic but that's not my own opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

Usage Tips

Everything is pretty ok here but you could definitely work on phrasing the stuff better, mostly so it looks more like an analysis, and so the GPer doing this won't hate you.

Team Options

Mention how wallbreakers like Nidoking and Scizor can net easier 1/2HKOs with rocks being set up reliably. Also change the second bullet to call Doublade and Chandelure Ghost-types, and then go on to talk about how they block Rapid Spin. Next, If you're gonna talk about Taunt mons being able to stop Defog users, you probably wanna add some examples up like Serperior, and it's probably ok to mention Nidoking here again. Maybe add Scizor to the list of cleaners in the last bullet as well since +2 Bullet Punch is pretty good at sweeping under the right conditions.

Other Options

Not much, just elaborate a bit on why SD Swift Swim Kabutops isn't that good, since rain teams are niche due to Drizzle being banned and left to manual setters like Klefki and Tornadus.

Checks and Counters

Just elaborate a bit on how these hazard removers beat Kabutops, i.e Empoleon and Gliscor not giving a shit about anything it could do.
Add Serperior somewhere since Kabutops is pretty easy setup fodder and if it comes in on a Rock Tomb and gets a Speed boost that usually doesn't end well for hyper offfensive teams that you'd use Kabutops on. Also add a section for setup sweepers that can take advantage of Kabutops not being able to touch them, since stuff like Cobalion / Doublade / Suicune can be pretty problematic to hyper offense if you let them get too many boost under their belt.

Lastly, just more of a GP thing, any time you write "hazards" it should be "entry hazards". You'll have to change it eventually so might as well get it out of the way now.

Kabutops is uniquely equipped with the combination of a unique suicide lead thanks to its access to Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin,(AC) and Weak Armour Armor that allow it to be an effective hazard setter. Jord-e since the am check was implemented, I'll just go ahead and give some things I noticed from your check that you should be careful of:
  • You don't always need "entry" before hazards in every instance. Typically, as long as it's mentioned the first time in a section, it's fine. Beyond that, just keep whatever the writer has.
  • You added a comma in usage tips before a list of examples that start with "like", which is incorrect. When "such as" is used, it's fine to have or not to have a comma (you really only change it if it makes it structurally better), but never for "like".
  • Last line in the analysis: "Speed drop" is right with the capital S, since it's referring to the drop of the actual Speed stat.
  • Last point in the analysis: Make sure you understand the difference between setup and set up in terms of how they're used. Set up is a verb, whereas setup (and set-up but that's a different context) is an adjective, hence "setup sweepers" and "it can set up".
Other than that, I'd just look through general wording and structure of sentences more, since each individual sentence can sound alright, but string them together and they sound awkward or out of place. This is more of an experience thing, but knowing when a word doesn't really fit the context even if we tend to use it very freely is handy. Lmk if youo're unsure of anything.
