Well it's a tie, so I've got to break it... tough call, but DaAwesomeDude1 gets my vote and the win this week! I'll be taking a couple weeks off, so stay tuned for more rounds of this soon™
It has been over a month, and I was wondering if this project can continue~ It's always interesting to see how players team build. Not to mention their creativity, play-style, and strategies.

Sorry all, I've had a pretty hectic and difficult month irl. Since I've had so many requests to bring this back, I'll use this thread as a step back into my Smogon responsibilities. Apologies in advance if I'm late on certain deadlines, as I'm still dealing with a lot.

But enough about me...

This week, we'll be building around Mega Diancie! The Tier 1 threat from last generation had a huge boost to its exclusive move, Diamond Storm, which now gives twice the Defense boosts that it used to. However, other changes such as the introduction of four new popular Fairy-types and an increase in the amount of Speed required to be considered "fast" have led to its slight decline in viability. Since Diancite's release, Mega Diancie has found a spot on teams wanting an offensive check to Pokemon like Mega Salamence, Zapdos, and Hoopa-U with considerably more Speed than Tyranitar and a better typing than Terrakion. As a fairly new introduction to the tier, there are still plenty of new ways to use Mega Diancie, so get creative with it!

Deadline for submissions is Monday, September 18th at 11:59pm EST!

The basic concept here was to use Adrenaline Orb Manaphy to counter turn 1 Landorus-T leads, and really just build an entire team around the Diancie-Mega/Manaphy core. Rain checks were a priority for this team so I added an Amoonguss and Kyurem-B. Amoonguss is also great for helping Manaphy set up. Tapu Koko is a fast attacker / sleep check / sun check until people realize that Torkoal is legitimately good. Weavile is an offensive utility mon that helps free up time for Diancie to set up a Substitute or for Manaphy to use Tail Glow.

I started building with diancie then I added Volcanion to prevent Steel-types from switching into Diancie's attacks and to have a better mu vs rain which diancie dislikes a lot and which is kinda popular right now. After that, Landorus helps a lot here being a ground immunity, checking Tapu Koko and Snorlax and giving Intimidate support and luring some defensive mons that could stop Diancie such as ferrothorn or tapu fini with its Z-Move. Marshadow was added later to help Diancie's work at breaking opposing team, having really good offensive synergy together. Lastly, Zapdos was added for speed control, and Ferrothorn was added as a secondary check to rain, pivot, Psyspam check and win-condition.

I started building around Diancie-Volcanion-Bulu because Volcanion is just a really fun fire type in the current meta and Bulu covers up the obvious ground weakness while hitting water types for the first two. Next I added Marsh because it hits steels hard, which is really important for Diancie and even Bulu as they are completely walled off by them. Then I took the team in a different direction by adding Hoopa. Hoopa is really nice as a check to those dark weak steels such as Bronzong and Aegislash while providing a form of speed control for my slower members in Bulu and Volcanion. Finally I added Staraptor for intimidate and Final Gambit which I will explain next. The team may look awkward with 3 fast mons and three slow ones, but I really like how it comes together. I can choose to lead Staraptor + Hoopa for example, Final Gambit a threat to Hoopa while setting Trick Room allowing for a FREE SWITCH into Bulu or Volcanion. Under Trick Room the slow mons punch big holes so that when Trick Room expires, the fast mons like Marshadow and Diancie have a much easier time cleaning up. This can work vice versa, in that I lead with the fast mons to punch holes, and then clean up the game with Trick Room in the end game. Spreads are all from the EV spread compendium.

edit: also this won a lofty 10 man room tour so yknow its good

Veils is broken so why not use it with Mega Diancie! Scarf Ninetales lets me get up veil more consistently and lets me snipe scarf lando + mmence. Also outspeeds ludicolo+Mpert in rain to freeze dry them if necessary. Added Bulu next because it matches up well vs rain and other tapus very well, also checks lando t which is nice for diancie. SD Fightinium Z allows me to check ferrothorn nicely, and veils really helps it set up. Celesteela next to give me a steel type, good answer to lando + zygarde and m pert as well. The one game i wasnt flamethrower i lost to ferro and protect on celes isnt necessary imo. Volcanion is another rain check which becomes stupidly bulky behind veil and has a good matchup vs steels and fini. Tbh koko is there just so i dont get my ass beat by sleep but it hits volcanion hard and is faster than marshadow too. i was kinda weak to m venu so i stuck natures madness on there.

Well when building this i had to deal with the fact that diancie mega is a total handicap and so bad in this meta so i decided to hanicap myself even more by using lilligant and torkoal. Diancie can preform without speed control relatively well vs Mence chary tran and such. Hoopla next as direct check to steels and phat grasses that annoy diancie like venu and additional speed options for torkoal. Lando because lando weakness is eh, ground coverage is nice for decimating fire resists with z ground for torkoal along with intim + pivot. Fini next as i thought itd be a decent wincon here since it has a neutral mu vs the mons i was eh about matchup wise, threatens mence and other dragons and such, walls fires and sets up on them, good mu vs lando and gene kinda.
