[OVERVIEW]
  • Crustle has the ability to set up both Stealth Rock and Spikes, making it an excellent suicide lead.
  • Crustle's ability, Weak Armor often gives it the opportunity to set up at least 2 hazard against physical attackers who activate this ability, doubling Crustle's speed and allowing it to outspeed most of the unboosted metagame. It is however quite slow naturally, and it often can only get 1 hazard against faster Pokemon that outspeed it.
  • Crustle's access to Knock Off allows it to remove items such as Eviolites and Leftovers off Pokemon like Gurdurr and Lanturn, supporting it's teammates.
  • Crustle's lack of coverage means it can be used as set up fodder for Pokemon such as Torterra and Carracosta.
  • It faces stiff competition from Qwilfish as a Spike setter, as Qwilfish is much faster, and has more defensive utility.

[SET]
name: Lead
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Spikes
move 3: Stone Edge / Rock Blast
move 4: Knock Off
item: Focus Sash / Mental Herb
ability: Weak Armor / Sturdy
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Stealth Rock is a reliable way to weaken foes, as well as break Sturdy and Focus Sashes.
  • Spikes is another reliable way to weaken foes and pressure bulkier teams.
  • Knock Off removes the item from Pokemon, helping with the likes of Gurdurr and Ferroseed.
  • Stone Edge pressures defoggers such as Swanna.
  • Rock Blast is an option to beat sash leads such as opposing Crustle and Archeops, while having better accuracy.

Set Details
========
  • Max Speed with Jolly nature to be as fast as possible and avoid slow Taunt users.
  • Max attack helps Crustle hit defoggers such as Swanna harder.
  • Focus Sash and Weak Armor gives you the ability to set up 2 layers of hazards against physical attackers.
  • Mental Herb with Sturdy allows Crustle to get at least 1 layer of hazards against taunt users.

Usage Tips
========
  • Look at your opponent's team before laying out hazards. Determine which would be more effective to use, Stealth Rock or Spikes. If your opponent has 3 flying Pokemon, it would be more effective to use stealth rocks first.
  • Crustle is a lead and as such should be used first, unless a compelling reason not to lead with it.

Team Options
========

  • Crustle is likely to be sacked early in the game. To deter Defog users, Defiant users such as Primeape and Pawniard are good to use with it.
  • To prevent Rapid Spin, Ghost-types such as Oricorio-Sensu and Silvally-Ghost make good partners.
  • Wall breakers that appreciate Crustle's Spikes to help break walls such as Zangoose and Absol.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • An offensive Shell Smash set is an option, however it is mostly outclassed by Carracosta.
  • Toxic can be used to hit walls which do not take much from stone edge, however has less utility than Knock Off.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fast special attackers**: Special attackers who are faster than Crustle, such as Abomasnow, limit Crustle to only getting up one layer.

**Defog and Rapid Spin users**: These Pokemon remove the hazards Crustle has set up, making its efforts virtually pointless.

**Taunt Users**: Taunt users limit Crustle to only 1 hazard if it is holding a mental herb, and completely stop it if it is not.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Crustle has the ability to set up both Stealth Rock and Spikes, making it an excellent lead. (specifically a suicide lead meaning it only gets one chance to set up usually)
  • Crustle's ability often gives it the opportunity to set up at least 2 hazards. (plural and why?)
  • Crustle's rock typing allows it to pressure Flying-type Defog users such as Swanna with it's STAB. (ehhh, that's really applicable to one of the two sets, and it's shaky at best)
  • Crustle's access to Knock Off allows it to knock off Eviolites off Pokemon such as Gurdurr and Ferroseed. (you repeat knock off here, rephrase a bit and mention why it's useful; can also knock off lefties and such)
  • Crustle's lack of coverage means it can be used as set up fodder for Pokemon such as Torterra. (carracosta is another good example too)
  • Crustle's is quite slow, so it can often only get up one hazard. (this totally contradicts the above statement, i'd like you to merge it with that and explain it a bit more)
  • It faces stiff competition from Spike setters such as Ferroseed and Qwilfish (it really only faces competition from qwilfish as you'll only actually find crustle on more offensive teams, which ferroseed is generally a momentum drain on)
  • Rock blast allows it to beat sash mons like lead archeops and kadabra

Moves
========
  • Stealth Rock is a reliable way to weaken foes, as well as break Sturdy and Focus Sashes.
  • Spikes is another reliable way to weaken foes and pressure bulkier teams. (well, spikes pressures all kinds of teams, doesn't matter if its bulky or not)
  • Knock Off removes the item from Pokemon, helping with the likes of Gurdurr and Ferroseed. (well it helps teammates, because crustle aint doing nothing to these two by itself)
  • Stone Edge pressures defoggers such as Swanna. (it is its most strongest (and most reliable) rock-type move)
  • Rock Blast is an option to beat sash leads such as opposing Crustle and Archeops, while having better accuracy. (also breaks sash from other mons like leavanny and kadabra)

Set Details
========
  • Max Speed with Jolly nature to be as fast as possible and avoid slow Taunt users. (like?)
  • Max attack helps Crustle hit defoggers such as Swanna harder. (you've said swanna like three times now, give another example in my opinion)
  • Focus Sash and Weak Armor gives you the ability to set up 2 layers of hazards against physical attackers. (like?)
  • Mental Herb with Sturdy allows Crustle to get at least 1 layer of hazards against taunt users. (or more if they're slow taunters like weezing for example)

Usage Tips
========
  • Look at your opponent's team before laying out hazards. Determine which would be more effective to use, Stealth Rock or Spikes. If your opponent has 3 flying Pokemon, it would be more effective to use stealth rocks first. (three flying pokemon? no team has three flying pokemon. say multiple flying or levitating pokemon. also sr is almost always the first hazard you'll set regardless)
  • Crustle is a lead and as such should be used first, unless a compelling reason not to lead with it. (suicide lead, be specific here)
I know it's extremely one dimensional in what it does, but you can definitely expand this. if they're going to lead a taunt user what do you do? mention what match up the two different ability/item combinations have here too

Team Options
========

  • HO teams! mention a few bullet points on the mons that spike stacking helps, what mons enjoy sturdy or sash being broken, etc

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • An offensive Shell Smash set is an option, however it is mostly outclassed by Carracosta.
  • Toxic can be used to hit walls which do not take much from stone edge, however has less utility than Knock Off.
  • Counter
  • X scissor

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fast special attackers**: Special attackers who are faster than Crustle, such as Abomasnow, limit Crustle to only getting up one layer. (abomasnow isn't really a fast special attacker.

**Defog and Rapid Spin users**: These Pokemon remove the hazards Crustle has set up, making its efforts virtually pointless. (and because it's a suicide lead HO teams generally have trouble stacking again)

**Taunt Users**: Taunt users limit Crustle to only 1 hazard if it is holding a mental herb, and completely stop it if it is not. (like? weezing certainly doesn't stop it but qwilfish can if its not the mental herb set)
Looks good, but a little barebones even though it's very one dimensional, so just expand a little! QC 1/3

  • Crustle has the ability to set up both Stealth Rock and Spikes, making it an excellent suicide lead. I dont think its excellent per se i find it to setup once and custap being unrealsed kinda sucks

  • Crustle's access to Knock Off allows it to remove items such as Eviolites and Leftovers off Pokemon like Gurdurr and Lanturn, supporting it's teammates. would mention something like ferroseed over lanturn
  • Crustle's lack of coverage means it can be used as set up fodder for Pokemon such as Torterra and Carracosta.
  • It faces stiff competition from Qwilfish as a Spike setter, as Qwilfish is much faster, and has more defensive utility. ferroseed is also bulkier and more reliable

[SET] (Personally I think Shell Smash deserves a set even if its outclassed by costa. you could say crustle is outclassed as an entry hazard setter by qwilfish. check in with qc first tho)

  • Stealth Rock is a reliable way to weaken foes rack up residual damage, as well as break Sturdy and Focus Sashes.
  • Spikes is another reliable way to weaken foes provide residual damage and pressure bulkier teams.

  • Stone Edge pressures defoggers such as Swanna. and skuntank
  • Rock Blast is an option to beat sash leads such as opposing Crustle and Archeops, while having better accuracy. archeops nvr really runs a sash lead. and it does not beat opposing crustle

Set Details
========
  • Max Speed with Jolly nature to be as fast as possible and avoid slow Taunt users. such as?
  • Max attack helps Crustle hit defoggers such as Swanna harder. or just say makes it as strong as possible
  • Focus Sash and Weak Armor gives Crustle the ability to set up 2 layers of hazards against physical attackers. this isnt true all the time what if crustle is against a taunt user? and what physical attackers are you referring to?
  • Mental Herb with Sturdy allows Crustle to get at least 1 layer of hazards against taunt users. like?

Usage Tips
