Celebi

[OVERVIEW]

- Celebi is one of the few hard counters to Breloom, one of the most annoying DPP OU mons.
- Good moverpool allowing it to run a wide variety of offensive and defensive sets.
- Its typing, solid bulk and access to reliable recovery makes and excellent check to most water and bulky ground types.
- 7 weaknesses leaves it weak to U-turn and Pursuit thus making its job tough.

[SET]
Name: Physically Defensive

move 1: Grass Knot
move 2: Recover
move 3: Hidden Power Fire/Hidden Power Ice/Earth Power
move 4: Thunder wave/Leech seed/Heal bell/Stealth rock
item: Leftovers
nature: Bold
Evs: 252 hp / 220 def / 36 speed

[SET COMMENTS]
-
Grass Knot hits fat mons like Tyranitar, Hippodown and most waters harder that Energy ball
- Recover for reliable recovery.
- Hp Fire its the better coverage move since hits Scizor who otherwise come and force Celebi out with U-turn. Hp Ice hits Gliscor and Dragonite while Earth Power hits Heatran.
- Leech seed can be used to stall out opponents while helping Celebi's teamates. Thunder wave allows it to cripple mons like Dragonite and Gengar looking for setup, Heal bell makes it an effective cleric and Stealth rock can be used if no one other teammate has it.
- 36 speed evs for outspeed Jolly max speed Tyranitar.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- Protect can be used to scout Choice Scarf Tyranitar and Scizor and to beat non Taunt, Bounce Gyarados.
- And Specially defensive set can be used to check Starmie, Empoleon and other grass typer more effectively but is more prone to being pursuit trapped.

[SET] Offensive Stealth rock
move 1: Leaf storm
move 2: Stealth rock
move 3: Earth Power/Hidden Power Fire/Hidden Power Ice/Recover
move 4: Earth Power/Hidden Power Fire/Hidden Power Ice/Recover
item: Leftovers
nature: Timid
Evs: 120 Hp /252 SpA/136 spe

[SET COMMENTS]
-
Leaf storm for hit harder as possible.
- Now invested, Hp fire, Hp ice and Earth power can OHKO Scizor, Dragonite and Heatran after Stealth rock damage respectively.
- Recover can be used for a more durable Celebi.
- Celebi is and exccellent Stealth rock user. It can come on something like Swampert or Breloom and set up rocks.
- 136 speed evs allows it to outspeed offensive Suicune, Dragonite, Lucario and non Scarf Heatran. 252 SpA evs for hit harder as possible and the rest for hp to survive a Crunch from Tyranitar after rocks and avoid the 2HKO from offensive Suicune.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- Its a good option for offensive or bulky offensive teams that lack a Stealth rock user.
- It can be and effective lure with 2 coverage moves, helping sweepers like Infernape or SD Scizor with Dragonite and Heatran gone.
- A bulkier or full offensive set can be used with Recover.
- Thunder wave can be used instead of Stealth rock.

[SET]
Name: Lead

move 1: Leaf storm
move 2: Stealth rock
move 3: Earth power
move 4: Hidden Power Ice/Hidden Power Fire/U-turn
item: Occa Berry/Leftovers
nature: Timid
evs: 40 hp / 252 SpA / 216 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
- Can beat a lot of slower leads like Hippodown and Swampert with Leaf storm
- 216 speed evs are for outspeed max speed Gliscor through 4 more speed evs will be needed if hp fire is chosen.
- Earth power 2hkoes Metagross and Heatran (Thanks to Occa Berry), two very common leads.
- Hp Ice OHKOes Dragonite after a Life orb round while avoiding the OHKO from Fire blast+Extremespeed thanks to Occa Berry.
- U-turn can be used to gain momentum.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- Psychic isn't necesary since it can't OHKO Machamp and Celebi survives Payback anyway.
- Choice band Azelf, Infernape and Flygon are troublesome leads for this set.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf

move 1: Leaf Storm
move 2: Hidden Power Ice
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: U-turn/Trick
item: Choice Scarf
nature: Timid
evs: 4Hp/252 SpA/252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
-
Choice Scarf makes Celebi a good and unexpected revenge killer.
-Leaf Storm hits Dragon Dance Tyranitar and Dragon Dance Gyarados for a lot of damage.
- Hidden Power Ice hits Dragonite and Gliscor.
- Earth power allows it to check Infernape and Choice Scarf Heatran.
- Trick its used to cripple walls like Skarmory or Blissey while U-turn can be used to gain momentum.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- Its advantages over Shaimyn are its typing and access to Trick and U-turn
- Sword Dance Lucario or Scizor can be good teamates since they can set up freely after Celebi has been pursuit trapped and KOed.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot

move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Grass Knot
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Hidden Power Fire/Earth Power
item: Leftovers/ Life orb
nature: Timid/ Modest
evs: 4 Hp/ 252 SpA/252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
-
Grass Knot its preffered over Energy ball to hit heavier foes and Psychic hits Rotom-A anyway.
- Hidden Power Fire allows Celebi to get past Scizor and Skarmory while Earth Power hits Heatran.
- Life orb for more power, Leftovers for more durability.
- Timid its preffered for outspeed positive natured Lucario and Gliscor and tie with opposing positive nature base 100 mons. Modest for more power.
- This set works better at sweeping bulky teams since faster mons like Infernape and Gengar can outspeed and OHKO Celebi.
