BSS Teambuilding & Help Thread (SuMo Edition Reloaded 2.0)

Tapu Lele is Pheromosa's best friend. Psychic Terrain stops priority moves which often is how snowballing Pheromosa's are killed.
I would recommend Naive Mosa over Naughty to get the speed increase after KO's thus making Phero almost always go first under Psychic terrain
With my EV spread, it still gets the speed boost even with a naughty nature. It's offensive stats are 191 attack, 175 special attack, and 201 speed
And I definately agree with adding tapu lele to the team to stop priority

I have added a few new mons for my team. Any suggestions for other pokemon?

Replace Salazle w/ Nagandal then you want scarf Landog and Z Mimikyu imo. Using higher tier mons will keep you up on damage if you're good at bring six pick three.

Might as well toss sash on old chomp over lum should you need an emergency Zard X killer. Eq on gyara would be nice too but I can see fat hippos giving you problems so maybe sub can handle that? A well placed Lum has saved me in the Breloom matchup though - run it on Nagandal maybe hmmm toss a rock move on Meta while you're at it.

I've only just started getting into competitive so bear with me. I'm quite interested in the mega mawhile / porygon2 trick room core.
I would also like to be able to throw in cresselia but i'm not sure what spread, and possibly tapu bulu. i'm not sure what I would like for my last 2 slots. any tips? i have a really nice tapu koko and fini i wouldnt mind trading someone out for. But i'm thinking i may just have to switch it up and go for a semi-stall team that allows me to scout out for my mega-maw and set up trick room?

The initial core suggests you're building a Doubles team or at least took the sets from a Doubles analysis, generally speaking Singles and Doubles sets aren't interchangeable so I'd start with changing that. Mawile is simple enough, just swap out Protect for Swords Dance since that gives you the possibility to sweep under Trick Room, even if you don't necessarily always need it. Cresselia also wants to look something more like this:

Cresselia @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam / Psychic
- Moonlight
- Lunar Dance / Psychic / Toxic
- Trick Room

There's some flexibility in move options for Cresselia though Ice Beam and Lunar Dance are generally preferred in those slots, especially if you're pairing it with a Trick Room sweeper. Cresselia wants to be as bulky as possible to reliably set up Trick Room and Bold lets it handle stuff like Landorus-T and Blaziken better.

Beyond that you don't really need a dedicated Trick Room team though, since you're only bringing 3 Pokemon to a BSS game the rest of the team benefits a lot from not conforming to the Trick Room setup and gives you a lot of flexibility. However, Porygon2 is generally a pretty safe choice on teams with Mawile as well. If you want it to work under Trick Room you're better off with a more offensive approach though:

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Download
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Trick Room
- Hidden Power Fire

This set is particularly strong for offensive Trick Room approaches and helps out a lot against Ferrothorn, which gives Mawile teams a lot of trouble unless you want to swap out Iron Head for Fire Fang. There's no Recover here because turns spent using Recover are usually wasting TR turns and it's not really bulky enough to benefit a ton from recovery. Thunderbolt is good for Gyarados which tends to be an annoyance for Trick Room squads, though Shadow Ball can be considered if Aegislash gives you too much trouble.

Assault Vest Tapu Bulu is a decent choice here for rain and particularly Gyarados matchups since this core struggles a bit with Mega Gyarados, though Bulu is not particularly common on Mawile teams and Thunderbolt Porygon2 can deal with it well enough. I would consider Tapu Koko (Specs or Electrium Z) instead since it works excellently on a fast mode when Trick Room has a poor matchup, though Tapu Bulu can work fine. I would also recommend a Ground- and/or Fire-type on this team because offensive Steels like Metagross and Stakataka can ruin this team in its current state (Porygon2 can be tuned to handle these threats but you don't want to force too much onto Porygon2). Landorus-T or Garchomp are solid Ground options, Blaziken and Volcarona fit excellently for Fire-type options. Mimikyu is also a good catch-all check for most teams if you're struggling to deal with offensive threats though I'm only suggesting it because that's always an option on any team.

I don't want to give any concrete options since I'm not sure which direction you want to take with the rest of the team slots, but these are some suggestions I'd definitely consider. I would also suggest taking a lot at the usage stats for more details if you haven't already come across them, they're very useful and give a good read on what people are using in general. Hope this helps!

I have a timid volt switch shiny koko from the mystery event I've been itching to use. I think I like the sound of Lando-T for U-turn. if I have koko and M-maw do I want another fairy type in mimikyu? (Although I'm more than willing to playtest it) What do you think about an incineroar for dark type? I also feel like I could use a water type. maybe rotom-W? definitely like the Lando-T idea though thank you! I may swap out Iron Head for Fire Fang. Depends on whether I choose a fire or not. I quite like the idea of Volcarona, then I would keep Iron Head.

If I'm building a second set of 2-3 as a non-trick room win-con, should I focus a little more on speed?
Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Superpower

Tapu Koko @ Choice specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Dazzling Gleam
- Grass Knot

And what do you think about this Volcarona?
Volcarona @ Focus Sash

Hey all. I'm new to BSS and only dabbled a bit in other formats, so I'm not that experienced. I started practicing on Showdown with one of the sample teams, Double Mega Balance from season 4, and decided to make the team on my cart.

I can't make the team in full because the Metagross requires Ultra SuMo move tutors. For the time being I only have access to Moon (not ultra). Can anyone suggest a replacement Pokemon that would fit the team AND is fully obtainable in my game?

Here is the team for reference:

Salamence-Mega @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
Happiness: 0
EVs: 212 HP / 44 Atk / 4 Def / 12 SpD / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Dragon Dance
- Substitute
- Roost

Mimikyu @ Fairium Z
Ability: Disguise
Level: 50
EVs: 228 HP / 252 Atk / 28 Def
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance
- Curse

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 20 Def / 244 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Discharge
- Toxic
- Recover

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 4 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Protect
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Guillotine

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Def / 12 SpA / 4 SpD / 28 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Air Slash
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Protect

Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
Level: 50
EVs: 156 HP / 100 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Bullet Punch

Erm... why are you running Frustration on that Megamence? Wouldn't Return be a better choice overall? It seems like running a max power Frustration set is more trouble than it's worth.

Ditto is what frustration is mainly for because ditto rarely runs 0 happiness. In the case of the mence set that Krusiv is running, frustration ensures that a ditto copying his mence is setup fodder because ditto can't do anything with a single 1bp attack.

Ah... I see. I didn't think Ditto was enough of a threat to warrant something like this.

Hey guys

I would like to know what you think of my team which you can find in the linkg below.

https://richi3f.github.io/pokemon-t...+espeon+blaziken+milotic+absol-mega+magnezone

I never went to online battling but I will after I beat the game and start breeding for IV's and training for EVs (I can already start searching for good natures during the story, the rest is as I said for afterwards).

I just would like your honest opinion on how all around balanced my team is, given I give them the right items, movesets etc.

I am a real noob in this so please don't be harsh, I just want to know where I can do things better. :)

If it's too bad of a team, at least I would like to ask if you guys know some other good pokémon to build around my favorite ones, namely Espeon, Milotic and heck even Magnezone.

Thanks alot in advance and please keep it civil, as I am aware of how foolish my team might look myself given I'm brand new at this. :)

EDIT: Just thought about it that I don't have a counter for electric types, should I swap out Weezing with a ,pokémon that makes good use of Earthquake or another strong ground type move?

Hello and welcome :)
First thing first a single pokemon can run many different sets, so it's hard to rate your team without knowing which moves / evs / natures and items you've chosen for your pokemon.
As for those three (espeon, milotic and magnezone) they all are viable. Not top tier stuff, but at least usable.
Before doing anything, though, i strongly recommend you to take a look to the viability ranking, that would show the tier list of the battle spot singles metagame: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/bss-viability-rankings.3605970/
To the good cores thread, that could give you a first taste of some of the cores (and what is a core) that are used in the tier: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/battle-spot-singles-good-cores.3602082/
And to our sample teams thread: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/battle-spot-singles-sample-teams.3619162/

Now i'll try to give you an example of a team that could have those three:

@ Flame Orb
Ability: Marvel Scale
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Icy Wind
- Recover
- Haze

CharX / Mega Blaziken and overall a setup sweeper check. Works well vs pokemon that would otherwise threat the team such as Mamoswine and sand cores.

@ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Yawn
- Psychic
- Reflect
- Light Screen

Screen support for your megas and for Lele and Magnezone which can both hit pretty hard. Handy to guard the field from Stealth Rocks, which would otherwise hardly damage Charizard and damage Mence as well.

@ Assault Vest
Ability: Magnet Pull
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 212 SpA / 4 Def / 12 SpD / 28 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Charge Beam / Magic Coat / Volt Switch

Thanks to Magnet Pull, this helps CharY with its horrible match up vs Heatran and MMence vs Celesteela and such. The combination of the Assault Vest and Charge beam can help to takeover threats such as p2 and cresselia.
Covers Char from Electric- and Rock-type attacks and MMence from Fairy-, Dragon- and Ice-type attacks.

@ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 100 SpA / 4 SpD / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flame Charge
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]

First mega. The EVs spread make it hit 138 speed, meaning that it will outspeed Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric after a Flame Charge. The combination of it being Modest and the 100 evs in SpA are to reach 211, that is the number that it hits when running a 252 SpA EVs and a Timid nature. The rest are used to increase its bulk.

@ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 44 HP / 236 Def / 60 SpA / 4 SpD / 164 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Outspeeds Adamant Mimikyu, hits hard and can take a Flame Charge from Mega Blaziken (if Sun is not up) and a Double-Edge from Jolly MMence
or a Return from the Adamant ones.
Hits fairly hard with the Choice Specs equipped

@ Salamencite
Ability: Aerilate
Level: 50
EVs: 84 HP / 172 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Roost

Second mega. Obviously you'd use this OR CharY.
Standard spread. Hits hard, outspeeds Nihilego and Garchomp and has those evs in HP to take an HP Ice from Mega Blaziken.

This is a sample team made in 30 seconds, that isn't meant to be (that) competitive and has a lot of flaws (edit: for istance i've done some calcs to make Magnezone survive to Heatran's attacks and Lele to Mega Blaziken's Flare Blitz and actually forgot that if sun is up those calcs won't work) , but it gives an example of how you could use those three that you like in a team.

Try to hang in the showdown's battle spot room also, it would definitely give you the opportunity to talk, fight and build with expert players

Hey welcome,
so i'd start by putting a Jolly nature on M-Gyara over Adamant, mainly for one reason: +1 Adamant won't outspeed mons suchs as Tapu Koko (base 130), and that's a huge factor.
The only scenario where M-Gyara runs an Adamant nature is when it acts as a baton pass recipient (getting speed boots from Blaziken or the Eeveeboost, for istance).
hitting a stat of 138 in speed allows gyarados to outspeed up to Mega Lopunny after a DD, gaining some evs to spend in bulk. Otherwise you could just go max/max , since you have Taunt, in order to taunt, for istance, other gyara and setup on them.
You might consider moves such as Ice Fang and Earthquake on it too, or even Substitute over Taunt. This is up to you.

I do like defensive Lando, but i'd replace Knock Off with Rock Tomb to prevent setups from sweepers or just make things slower than gyarados (Jolly gyara outspeeds a -1 Koko, obviously). You could also try ROcky Helmet on it, it works very well on the physically defensive set.

Koko is fine as it is, and even though not having HP Ice might be annoying since Landorus is so relevant in the meta, you can still use it without.

As for its partners, id say that you -definitely- need something to deal with Bulu and p2. Id say that Blaziken synergizes pretty fine with Gyarados and Landorus.
You can either use a mixed set, if you have a Blazi with HP Ice, or use an offensive physical one with Firium and Sword Dance. Even Baton Pass Blaziken is great. With Protect / Flare Blitz / Hjk and Baton Pass, so that you can attack or just pass the speed to gyarados and partners (here is when you could even use an Adamant nature on Gyarados, but honestly id still try to get a Jolly one.)

With Blaziken in it id use a secondary mega. Mega Gengar looks fine, even Mega Salamence works here.
If you're going with MMence i'd add Aegislash for the last slot, whereas if you're going with MGengar i'd use Lele or Mimikyu as your sixth.

Speaking about the sets, tell me what you have in the box or what you can get, and let's see how we can adjust or what we can put in.

Thanks
I got Aegislash Sassy and Quiet
Mimikyu Jolly
Lele Timid
Salamence Jolly
Torchic Adamant
Gastly Timid

Timid gastly is perfect, you can either go with the Hypnosis + Hex set or with a full offensive one with Icy Wind and Focus Blast, Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb. Both 252/252 SpA Spe

As for Salamence, with your team if you can get an Adamant or a Careful one it would be better, otherwise even Jolly is fine i guess. You could try to use the chem's special:

(M) @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 84 HP / 220 Atk / 204 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Substitute / Dragon Dance
- Earthquake / Dragon Dance
- Roost

Mimikyu should be Adamant imo, Lele is fine with adamant whereas Torchic is perfect for Mega Blaziken but should be Jolly in my opinion if you're not willing to use the Mega, cause at +1 Adamant won't outspeed base 130 (Koko, MGengar and such)

Try them following the suggestions upwards and let me know, so we can adjust the team after some tests

So I need some help building a team around Mega-Metagross, however I'd like to avoid using legendaries, including Lando and the Tapu, can anyone help? Note this is for use in ultra moon not showdown

My Mega-Metagross build is
Adamant
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
-Zen Headbutt
-Bullet Punch
EV: 252 Atk/252 Speed/4 HP

Hydreigon is probably one of the best partners for Metagross. The two cover each other weaknesses almost perfectly. When talking about Metagross, the evil dragon is almost always there.

@ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 108 HP / 4 Def / 132 SpA / 12 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse

The spread is to outspeed Adamant Mimikyu, hit the special attack number that it would've had if it was Timid with 252 SpA EVs (it's even higher than 1), while the rest of the EVs are invested in bulk.

Now with these two you have a great core, that is kind of weak to Mimikyu. So you need a check for it.

@ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Yawn
- Slack Off

This works well vs Mimikyu, also giving you a check to Mega Blaziken and Mega Salamence.

From this point your options are pretty open. I'd probably add a secondary core, with another mega, that can work with Hippo, such as Mega Salamence + Aegislash.

@ Salamencite
Ability: Aerilate
Level: 50
EVs: 84 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 12 SpD / 252 Spe

You can even use Ferrothorn over Aegislash. Now i really don't understand the need to avoid using Tapus and light legends like Landorus, but this team should work even without. Test it and let us know

Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Earthquake
- Roost

@ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
Level: 50
EVs: 204 HP / 4 Def / 100 SpA / 100 SpD / 100 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- King's Shield
- Toxic
- Substitute

I have a vendetta against the Tapu, ESPECIALLY Koko who I see everywhere

I want to make a battle spot singles team with a shiny mega-altaria I breeded! What I have right now is:

Sludge bomb

Mimikyu@mimikyuium-z
Disguise
Adamant 252 att/252 spe/4hp

Not only am I looking to find another mega that fits well on the team to round out with team preview, I'm looking for any swaps you guys might see necessary. I've tested this team out on battle spots and so far it really hasnt been doing to hot, altaria ends up being a lot less useful than mimikyu most of the time because of the free turn mimikyu gets with disguise to set up. Tangrowth does well, but its been very situational compared to breloom. Hetran has been a really strong core, no matter which of the other 4 it is paired with. Is there any good support options I could give my team to make altaria a little stronger/survive longer? Even useage tips for it? Thanks!

Might want to add something else to handle Celesteela (among other steel types). Your only way of getting past it cleanly is Heatran (then just hope it isn't the rare Earthquake Celesteela). At that point, your opponent know you would always bring Heatran which lets them pick their best 3 much easier at team preview. Also I'm not sure double grass would be the best approach for the team; especially since both don't particularly compliment each other. (Btw Amoonguss and Mega Venusaur basically does what you want to do with that set, but better). Breloom generally does better than Tangrowth in BSS, but its your team. Porygon 2 could be an excellent replacement if you wanna nix Tangrowth for it since it synergizes quite well with Mimikyu and Mega Altaria, covers Ghostium Z Mimikyu, Mega Metagross, plus it can run discharge for Celesteela.

I really like using Altaria builds and I think you had about the right idea with your team, albeit with little polish needed.
->
While a Grass type to support the other team members is in order Tapu Bulu is a better fit in BSS because Tangrowth is much too passive, and more importantly doesn't provide extra passive recovery and reduced earthquake damage for Heatran. Bulu also forms the fairly popular bulutran core which is a pretty solid core (also Tran's Earth Power isn't weakened!).

With DD Altaria it is mandatory to be running a jolly nature with at least 172 evs invested in speed in order to outspeed two huge threats to altaria in Mega Gengar and Tapu Koko, which at +1 Altaria can dispatch with EQ. I bumped the speed investment up to 204 because that lets Altaria outspeed Mega Lopunny at +1 too. (you can put the hp evs into speed if you'd like, but the little bit of extra bulk can be nice)

As far as additional Megas go I feel as is Gyarados is the best option on this team because the water typing is neat for random ice coverage, and it offers the team valuable coverage in Ice and Water, which rounds the team off well.

Not a huge change, but I shifted 44 hp evs into SpD so you take slightly less damage against special attackers and still get maximum leftovers recovery.

If you really wanted to you could try switching breloom out for LO Greninja and adding something like mega metagross instead, which may also be better but I didn't want to change too much of the original team.

Hey, I thought I'd write here to detail a core that I've been experimenting with over the last few days as I've been inspired by the BS room to throw around a few ideas rather than just go through my teambuilding process solo as I usually do. This was originally, in part built vs. Darkinium for BSSC, but I did change it to be a bit less serious in that case. I apologise if this is mostly rambling.

Originally I wanted to build around mega metagross. The general reasoning for this is mega-gross is just a mega that has gone up a lot in my estimations over the last few weeks, simultaneously bulky whilst hitting hard without the need for set up and having good coverage. One thing that is great about it is its versatility. Iron head, Zen Headbutt, Bullet Punch, Ice punch, Rock Slide, Thunder Punch, Earthquake and Hammer Arm hits practically everything in the tier hard, it's just a matter of picking and choosing from there. Was likely to be max or close to max speed with just a few HP investment to take specific attacks.

Then I looked at some mons to go with metagross. Top priority was getting a decent earthquake switch-in. Landorus-T came to mind:

Landorus-T as I'm sure everyone knows is the most versatile of mons. Great EQ switch-in and has the intimidate ability to shut down a lot of physical threats. There were a few other reasons as well as this that I chose lando and more specifically a bulky lando for this team. It gave me firstly stealth rocks potential to break sashes as well as more importantly a slow u-turn. Had not thought of a spread at this point, but had an idea the team would be based around mons taking hits in order to get slow switches into hard hitters like Megagross.

Fini was the third. I just think Fini rounds out many cores great. It's just in general a mon that you can slot onto teams and it does well. Mamoswine, to use a theoretical mon with ground/ice coverage ruins the above duo, so fini is there to alleviate that. It also another switch-in to fire type mons. The misty terrain is useful when up against breloom. It starts giving the team some presence on the special side. In particular defensively, opposing landorus-t and hippowdon can be problems. Similar to lando, I knew fini was going to be bulky, max hp for sure, perhaps with defensive investment. I had the idea of a fast taunt here too which shuts down opposing fat like hippo, p2, cresselia which can be annoyances to the team.

After creating the above core, I thought of Naganadel. Knew the exact set and spread, being the standard plot Dev-drake set. This would give me a second recipient to u-turn. More importantly it constricts what opponents can bring at pokemon select screen. Very little asides from heatran can take all attacks from naga at +2, furthermore it is faster than most of the metagame.

From there, I wanted to round out my team. From here, I was looking for a slow u-turner if possible (it wasn't) and matchup specific stuff. Greninja, opposing Naganadel, thund-t, rotom-h, p-z come to mind. Originally this had mimikyu and rotom and greninja/mespirit and even magnezone on, but I have changed it over a few iterations. So I came up with my last two mons:

Snorlax is there basically to deal with Greninja and it does well in certain matchups where there lacks mons like mega lopunny. Fini can deal with waterium/torrent, but very difficult to predict greninja sets beforehand without potentially losing the game. Dark pulse, gunk shot, ice beam, not fun for my team. Cloyster is a third offensive threat behind mega metagross and naganadel that has to be respected and a emergency check due to sash. +2 can also revenge boosted P-Z. I wanted sash diggersby here instead, but it holds too much overlap.

So I came up with the following preliminarily:

https://pokepast.es/ba8b687a5d3ea7fc

Metagross:

HP investment was originally designed to live ghostium-z from jolly mimikyu (28 HP). 44HP/28SPD would allow to live modest specs lele's shadow ball 100% of the time which is of note. The speed investment outspeeds adamant mega salamence by 1 point and the rest is in attack. Am tempted to lower it further to 171 speed outspeeding nihilego and jolly chomper and adding a bit into attack. Unsure about this spread until further testing.

Other than that, standard gross set with max speed. Zen headbutt is there to deal with mega-venusaur which otherwise gives the team trouble, toxic is there to punish lure in bulk such as cresselia, porygon2, hippo, lando, the former two can be annoying. Have considered EQ/Thunder Punch over toxic as another measure for heatran and bulky waters but I think this is currently best, might try out TP a bit more though.

Landorus-T:

Originally I thought of rocks spdef lando, but have changed it to AV to help deal with special threats better. It lives 2 flamethrowers or double overheat from char-y, same with volcarona. Has the slower u-turn vs most opposing landos allowing to go into metagross or cloyster. Knock-off for bulky berry mons and p2. Lives all but 1 roll of tapu fini's modest max spa waterium-z. Can live 1 non-life orb ice beam from protean greninja also, giving the neccessary chip needed to naga to get beast boost. Still struggles with +2 Devastating drake from naga and P-Z's icebeam.

Tapu Fini:

Fast taunter helps deal with annoying fat like p2, aegislash and heatran. It's speed tier is so it outspeeds mega gyarados by 1 point and does not allow sub/dd in regular. Hydropump over Surf though the accuracy is annoying, it KOs mega blaziken without bulk 100% of the time. Moonblast is there just as standard stab for mega salamence. Natures madness for fat. The bulky berry just means it never dies except vs. breloom bullet seed, which case thats ok cause you can go most other mons and get setup.

Naganadel:

Just the standard set, you already know what it does. Was tempted to go a no nasty plot set with hp ground for heatran, but there are mons out there that naga can set up on like a lot of koko sets. Wonder if there is a bulky spread that might work.

Snorlax:

This boy is slept on quite a lot. After a few curses he can wind up opponents. The Hp/Def investment is as high as can be but low enough to make sure sacred sword from aegislash always puts lax in berry range making it a 3HKO. Same with return from mega salamence. On special sides has a few key benchmarks like being able to recycle stall Char-y of sun for the most part or just 1v1ing depending on your feel and taking +1 infernal overdrive from volc. I've played around with fire punch vs. Earthquake. I think EQ is probably better overall but fire punch does have its uses vs freeze from fat like cress/p2 and hits celesteela.

Cloyster:

There just as a secondary sweeper and sash check, pretty standard set I think.

Anyways, was posting this to see if I could get any feedback and throw a few things around. I have some ideas myself and am kind of changing it as I go along.

Hello there Smogon community, this is my first team in a long time and ive worked really hard on it. Now, im not the greatest player, or an expert on the game, ive simply been playing pokemon for years, as well as other deck building RPG's. Considering my lack of knowledge when it comes to the super effective chart, I think this deck has been performing awfully well for me, with terrific coverage and tempo when played carefully. Anyway, heres the team:

IMPORTANT!!! I have been practicing in OU on pokemon showdown, so maybe the results will differ once brought into the battle spot.

mega_latios_by_theangryaron-d6slzqg.png
Latté (Latios-Mega) @ Latiosite
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power
- Energy Ball

Energy Ball hits consistent threats/switch in's, such as Ash Greninja. I've ruined people's day with this move...

Zapdos.png
The Chair (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA
- Hidden Power Grass
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Roost

HP Grass, again more useful than any other hidden power, ive found, for taking out the consistent threats that zapdos has been facing.

landorus_sacred_beast_forme_by_xous54-d528mrm.png
Dirt (Landorus-Therian) @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Defog
- Explosion

Should be pretty self explanatory... Fly + Flyinium Z is never not useful for me. Explosion, instead of U-turn, stone edge, and knock off.

terrakion_by_xous54-d37tnid.png
Terra (Terrakion) @ Steelium Z
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head

Great set, Steelium Z allowing Terrakion to stand up to, or even OHKO what he normally couldn't. Iron head still being a useful coverage move for my team, even once the steelium z has been used up.

magnezone_by_hardvector-d3h2pi4.png
Big Glock (Magnezone) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Flash Cannon
- Explosion

Hidden Power Water, another day ruiner of a move. explosion + focus sash because i found that everything else lacked "umph" and magnezone was getting wasted away too easily, without making a real dent. This could just be because i suck tho haha

shiny_clefable_global_link_art_by_trainerparshen-d6t9ltg.png
Fable (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 200 HP / 52 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Standard as fuck. EV spread to even out the defenses, i dont know if this is a good idea or not...

Sorry for the short analysis. Like i said, i am no pro, and i took a break for a while before coming back to competitive play, recently. I feel most of this is standard, if not self explanatory, however, and i am only looking to see what people think, and learn a thing or two, while maybe bettering my team before i get it in-game. Anyway's, thank you all ahead of time for any attention you give this post, and any responses you share with me :) Let the critique, begin!
