Okay, so in an act to promote Ubers battling, I'm going to write my second warstory. I've always loved playing Ubers, it's the first metagame where I ended up on a Leaderboard (Yay!!). Anyway, after playing a while, I have come to notice Manaphy as a truly underrated Pokemon in the Ubers metagame (Even though he doesn't really shine in this battle). I've been looking for some good battles to Warstory in a while, and I did have a pretty good battle with Bluewind about a week ago which really showed how awesome Manaphy was, but I'm an idiot and forgot to record it (Goddamn it). So after playing a few more Ubers matches, I thought I might as well settle with this one against Quick Man, as it is reasonably exciting. So, here's my team (Also featured here):

As you can see, I have Latias and Manaphy on my team (And Garchomp!!), the two/three Pokemon who were recently banned in the Suspect tests. While I am a firm advocate for both Latias and Manaphy to be OU, that is all in the past and they both do really well in Ubers anyway, which is where I got my title. Fuck yeah.

Quick Man's team would be shown at the bottom if anyone is curious.

Quick Man sent out Mewtwo (lvl 100 Mewtwo).
Mewtwo is exerting its pressure!
DarkLord has entered the room.
Quick Man: Scizor used Bullet Punch. A critical hit! Garchomp lost 99% of its health.
DarkLord: hell yeah

Okay, so we start the match. I lead with my trusty Forretress since I hate Deoxys-S so much. However, Quick Man doesn't whore Deoxys-S and leads with a Mewtwo. Mewtwo is annoying, since it can run so many sets and makes Salamence look like shit. Anywho, I have no idea what the hell this is running, but I sure as hell hope that it's not TrickScarf. Quite a few Mewtwos run Flamethrower these days, so I'm not going to risk Forretress getting fried so early, so I go to Kyogre.

Oh crap, it does have Flametrhower, so it is some kind of anti-lead (Which funnily enough, still allows Deoxys-S to lay down two layers of hazards, LOL), which means it'll probably be carrying something for Kyogre as well. Let's go back to Forretress to see.

Goddamn it, he has everything!! Incidentally, he doesn't seem to carry Life Orb. Maybe Expert Belt?? I have no idea. Anyway, if Mewtwo is carrying Grass Knot, I doubt he'll be carrying Thunder as well. Time to go to the maestro of sex, Manaphy, to set up on this bastard.

shrang switched in TWILIGHT SUCKS (lvl 100 Manaphy).
Quick Man switched in Darkrai (lvl 100 Darkrai).
The rain continues to fall.

Looks like Quick Man doesn't want to continue this routine either. He goes to Darkrai, a Pokemon I hate with a passion. I mean, look at the thing. It's so ugly and emo, yet it gets the cheapest movepool ever. Oh well, Manaphy is in, and Darkrai can't do crap to it, hehe. Time to set up.

You're probably all gasping in confusion now. What? Calm Mind on Manaphy?? What the fuck?! Yes. My Manaphy runs Calm Mind and a bulky spread. Tail Glow Manaphy fails since it gets killed too easily. Bulky Calm Mind laughs in the face of its counters and sets up and eventually kills it (Apart from Latias, of course). I got the idea from Philip7086 using it in the Suspect metagame, although Uber Manaphy >>>> OU Manaphy any day (Using Surf and getting walled easily sucks). Anyway, Quick Man senses danger and brings in Groudon so Manaphy can't Rest for free. Time to fire an Ice Beam and do a stack to it so I can kill it more easily later.

Now I realise my mistake here, thankfully Jirachi does not Trick me. Anyway, he U-Turns to safety and brings in his own Kyogre. I'm quite sure he doesn't carry Thunder Wave on this bastard, since it's not a lead, and it's hard to find Thunder Waving Kyogre that aren't leads. I'm thinking this thing is probably Choice Specs or something. I think it would be quite safe to bring in Latias, who counters Kyogre really well.

Meh, I was hoping that Outrage could have lasted a bit longer, actually, since confusion sucks, and I'm on the verge of grinding this Groudon to death. Oh well. I'm expecting Dragon Claw or a switch, so I go to Dialga (Yes I'm fully aware EQ would rape me, but I'm quite sure he won't use it)

Props:
-Latias and Manaphy, for showing the Ubers tier that they aren't just Uber dropouts

-The match, for being relatively long and exciting
-Mewtwo, for being innovative

-Me, for winning
-Quick Man, for being a great opponent

Slops:
-Some bad play from both sides
-Darkrai and Jirachi, for haxing the hell out of me
-QM's Groudon, for not doing much.

My MVP is:

Latias!! Who doesn't love that gal?? It was a close call, whether Manaphy or Latias should take the prize, since Manaphy applied more pressure, but Latias is the one who delivered.

See you all next time!!

Lol I loved this warstroy, nice comments although you got haxed pretty bad in some cases.
Warstorys such as this should get rated (like get the little stars or something) .Well done, great warstory!

Great warstory. I really doubted you for a while regarding your views on Manaphy, but you've proved me wrong with this.

Double EDIT: 75.9% - 89.7% ScarfChomp Outrage vs 0/0 Darkrai

Nvm, you made a good move switching in Forry to Darkrai given your circumstances. I kinda thought you made a bad move at the time, but after running the calcs I realized you were right.

I enjoyed this quite a lot, considering I've just got into Ubers myself.. I've found the learning curve quite steep, but it's a rewarding metagame to play! I just wish there were more people on the ladder for me to gain more experience.

Very entertaining to read. your comments and the "dead status" stuff was pretty darn entertaining compared to other people's.

That was a good warstory. I was wondering about how good Manaphy was in Ubers and now I'm tempted to try it. Good playing on both sides. Good presentation too.

great warstory, and you just made me play uber for the first time XD
and I'm using manaphy, a calm mind one as well. thanks for the inspiration!

I liked some predictions and it was well played despite the (one sided?) hax. The presentation was also good. Surprised to see no entry hazards too. 8/10

Good warstory, I actually thought you lost this one for a while. But you made a nice victory dispite some hax.

One of the better warstories in a while. Both made good moves and played smart, and the comments were above average. Good job.

First off the warstory was ok. Dude Manaphy still isn't great and Latias has never been an uber dropout. Latias without soul dew maybe but with soul dew everyone knows it is a force.

Great read, very entertaining! 8/10

Shame you didn't record that battle against Bluewind, that would've been a hell good one to read...

Really cool warstory, the hax was a bit annoying but I guess no battle is perfect. Oh, and I can tell how much Manaphy isn't to be underrated as I myself have lost by doing so =x
