PU Alolan Dugtrio

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Dugtrio's main niche in the PU metagame is the combination of its Speed tier and unique typing. Its best set is Substitute + Toxic, which forces out Pokemon like Lanturn and Pyroar and cripples checks like Gastrodon with Toxic. Alolan Dugtrio's STAB attacks and coverage allow it to hit the tier for neutral damage, and its Speed tier allows it to outspeed top threats like Pyroar as well as Speed tie with Alolan Raichu and Archeops. However, keep in mind that its Attack stat is mediocre, which means it struggles to break bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Mesprit. Lastly, be aware that Alolan Dugtrio has a terrible Defense stat and struggles to switch in on even resisted attacks.

Moves
========

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's strongest STAB move and hits everything in the tier that doesn't resist it for decent damage. Iron Head hits everything that Earthquake misses out on such as Pokemon with Levitate like Weezing and Mesprit. Toxic is used to put bulky Water-types that Alolan Dugtrio lures in such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath on a timer. When coupled with Toxic, Substitute is used to ease prediction and wear down teams. Substitute also allows Alolan Dugtrio to be safe from Weezing's Will-O-Wisp. When this set is used in conjunction with Toxic Spikes support, Toxic can be replaced with Stone Edge, which expands Alolan Dugtrio's coverage and allows it to hit Pokemon like Swanna and Rotom-S super effectively.

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs with A Jolly nature allow Alolan Dugtrio to hit as hard and be as fast as possible. Leftovers gives Alolan Dugtrio passive recovery, which allows it to use Substitute more often. Tangling Hair is the preferred ability because it lowers the foe's Speed by one stage if Alolan Dugtrio is hit by a contact move, and its other abilities are generally more situational.

Usage Tips
========

Alolan Dugtrio should use Toxic to wear down bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath. It should use Substitute on Pokemon that cant break its Substitute like Weezing lacking Flamethrower. Additionally, use Substitute on Pokemon that Alolan Dugtrio can force out like Lanturn and Manectric. Substitute can force 50/50s with Sucker Punch users like Absol and Skuntank. More generally, Alolan Dugtrio should use Substitute against poisoned foes in order to rack up poison damage. Lastly, try to avoid switching in Alolan Dugtrio even on resisted hits because it's very frail.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard users such as Ferroseed and Qwilfish make for good teammates because hazards make it easier for Alolan Dugtrio to clean, since its Attack stat is mediocre. Alolan Dugtrio wears down bulky Water-types such as Poliwrath and Gastrodon with Toxic, so Pokemon like Pyroar make decent teammates because they appreciate their similar checks being crippled. Additionally, Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu and Lanturn appreciate Alolan Dugtrio's ability to cripple opposing Ground-types like Gastrodon and Torterra with Toxic. Strong physical attackers like Zangoose and Stoutland make good partners because they appreciate Toxic wearing down their defensive answers like Regirock and Carracosta. Additionally, Kangaskhan also appreciates Normal-type checks weakened, and it can rack up poison damage from Alolan Dugtrio's Toxic via Fake Out. Finally, Fighting-type checks such as Weezing and Mesprit pair well with Dugtrio because they resist Fighting and are immune to Ground-type attacks.

[SET]
name: All-out Attacker
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Pursuit / Memento
item: Life Orb
ability: Tangling Hair
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's best STAB attack and hits everything in the tier that does not resist it for a solid amount of damage. Iron Head is handy for Pokemon that are immune to or resist Earthquake like Weezing and Mesprit. Sucker Punch is used to hit fast threats such as Alolan Raichu, Choice Scarf Haunter, and Choice Scarf Jynx super effectively. Pursuit is used to hit the Electric-type Pokemon that Alolan Dugtrio forces out such as Manetric and Lanturn. Memento can grant a free setup opportunity to a teammate when Alolan Dugtrio is weak or has no other use in the rest of the battle.

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Alolan Dugtrio to hit as hard as possible and take advantage of its superior Speed tier. Tangling Hair lowers the Speed of Alolan Dugtrio's foe by one stage if it is struck by a contact move. While Sand Force can be chosen if Alolan Dugtrio is used in conjunction with Sandstorm, its use over Tangling Hair is situational.

Usage Tips
========

Alolan Dugtrio is usually useless versus bulkier teams, so it should switch out versus Pokemon like Weezing and Gastrodon that wall it. Use Alolan Dugtrio to revenge kill slower threats such as Pyroar and Manectric. Alolan Dugtrio can be preserved for late-game use in case its Sucker Punch is needed to stop setup sweepers, such as Normalium Z Jynx and Alolan Raichu. Alolan Dugtrio should use Memento at the right opportunity to ease setup for another teammate. Additionally, if it's not using Memento, Alolan Dugtrio can be sacrificed in battles with unfavorable matchups by switching directly into physical attacks that would KO it to lower the Speed of its foe via Tangling Hair, which allow its teammates to revenge kill the threat in question more easily.

Team Options
========

Strong wallbreakers like Drampa can open opportunities for Alolan Dugtrio to clean late-game. Bulky Water-type checks such as Ferroseed and Lilligant also work well with Alolan Dugtrio. Ferroseed can set up entry hazards and Liligant appreciates Alolan Dugtrio's Memento support, which eases its setup. Additionally, Psychic-types like Choice Specs Mesprit are able to break past most of Dugtrio's common checks like Gourgeist-XL and Weezing. Alolan Dugtrio pairs well with Fighting-type checks such as Mesprit and Weezing, since a common way of revenging it is by using Mach Punch from Hitmonchan. Weezing's and Qwilfish's Toxic Spikes wears down many of Alolan Dugtrio's natural checks as well as bulky Pokemon with the ability to switch into Alolan Dugtrio's STAB-boosted moves, like Ludicolo and Palossand, respectively.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Stone Edge can be used over Pursuit on Alolan Dugtrio's All-out-Attacker set to hit Flying-type Pokemon such as Swanna that would otherwise wall it. Choice Scarf can also be used if Alolan Dugtrio's team needs a solid way of revenge killing fast threats like Pyroar and Primeape; however, keep in mind that Choice Scarf Alolan Dugtrio is very weak. Additionally, Choice Band can be used over Life Orb for more power; however, being Choice-locked can be costly for Alolan Dugtrio, as it may potentially give an opposing Pokemon a free setup opportunity. Groundium Z with Earthquake can be used to attempt to break past bulky Pokemon such as Gastrodon with prior damage; however, the consistent damage output boost from Life Orb is preferred. Rockium Z allows Alolan Dugtrio to use Z-Sandstorm to give it +1 Speed and boost its Rock- and Ground-type moves with Sand Force. Darkinium Z can be used with Memento to give new life to a sweeper of your choice by easing its setup and healing it to 100% HP at the same time. The drawback of using Z-Memento is giving up Leftovers recovery on its Substitute set or losing attack power on Alolan Dugtrio's All-out-Attacker set.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Bulky Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon such as Sableye, Type: Null, Mudsdale, and Weezing can take Alolan Dugtrio's attacks with ease, although Weezing is setup bait for the Substitute + Toxic set.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf users such as Primeape and Pyroar can outspeed and KO Alolan Dugtrio with their respective STAB attacks.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath can deal with Alolan Dugtrio well; however, Substitute + Toxic variants of Alolan Dugtrio can lure in them and wear them down.

**Bulky Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-type Pokemon such as Ferroseed, Gourgeist-XL, and Torterra wall almost every set of Alolan Dugtrio, but they have to be careful of Substitute + Toxic sets. In Ferroseed's case, though, it can check Alolan Dugtrio with ease since it's immune to Toxic.

**Priority Users**: Most priority users are able to either beat or force out Alolan Dugtrio due to it having low Defense and being weak to common priority such as Hitmonchan's Mach Punch, Gurdurr's Mach Punch, and Kabutops's Aqua Jet.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Decent STAB moves - That allows it to hit the other STABs common switch ins, e.g. Earthquake is able to hit Lanturn, Iron Head can hit Weezing and Mesprit
  • Good Speed Tier - Allows it to outspeed most of the tier at neutral, unless opponent is scarfed or has received a speed boost
  • Tangling Hair is a useful abillity that slows Pokemon down if they make contact
  • Terrible Defense - means that it struggles to switch in on even resisted attacks
  • Attack stat is mediocre - Meaning it struggles in breaking bulkier mons and teams

[SET]
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Pursuit / Memento

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's best STAB attack that hits everything that does not resist for a solid amount of damage
  • Iron Head is Alolan Dugtrio's secondary STAB move that is handy for Pokemon that are immune or resist Earthquake - like Weezing, for example
  • Sucker Punch can be used to hit Fast threats such as Alolan Raichu without risking a Speed tie, and Choice Scarf Haunter. - Mention Scarf Jynx too if you're mentioning things weak to Sucker Punch
  • Pursuit can be used to trap and force out Eletric-type Pokemon such as as Choiced Locked Manetric and Lanturn - I'd rather mention something like Raichu-A over Lanturn, because most Lanturns are not choiced due to them being the Cleric or AV set
  • Memento essentially grants free setup to a teammate and doesn't make Alolan Dugtrio setup fodder - Especially versus things like Z-Celebrate Charizard which is able to switch directly into the offensive set
Set Details
========
  • 252 Attack Evs makes Alolan Dugtrio as powerful as possible with a Lifeorb
  • 252 Speed Evs make Alolan Dugtrio as fast as possible with a Jolly nature
  • Tangling Hair is Alolan Dugtrio's preferred ability because it lowers the foes speed stage by one if it is hit by a contact move - Mention specifically that it is its preferred ability outside of sand, because it literally cannot use the other two without a setter
Usage Tips
========
  • Alolan Dugtrio should utilize its Speed a to pressure opposing offensive teams
  • Alolan Dugtrio is usually useless versus bulkier teams so it should be used carefully since Pokemon like Weezing and Gastrodon wall it
  • Use Memento when you find the right opportunity to ease Setup with another teammate
  • Due to its Speed Tier, Alolan Dugtrio can revenge kill threats such as Pyroar - Provided they aren't scarf
Team Options
========
  • Strong Wallbreakers like Drampa can open opportunies for Alolan Dugtrio to clean.
  • Alolan Dugtrio is good on offensive teams
  • Bulky Water-type checks such as Ferroseed and Liligant work - With Ferroseed being able to pressure with hazards and Lilligant benefiting from things like Skuntank being weakened and Memento support
  • Psychic-types like Choice Specs Mesprit are able to break past most of Dugtrio's common checks like Gourgeist-XL and Weezing

  • Use Sub on Pokemon like Weezing that cant touch you
  • Avoid switching Alolan Dugtrio on hits as its super frail
  • Use Sub on Pokemon that Alolan Dugtrio forces out like Lanturn
  • I think you need to drill in that this set is pretty much designed to beat almost every one of its switch-ins, so include things like Charizard and Gourgeist-XL
  • I'd mention that this set actually helps versus spike stack teams, due to being immune to Toxic Spikes and being able to sub on Weezing and threaten Qwilfish
Team Options
========
  • Entry hazard users such as Ferroseed and Qwilfish make for good teammates since they make it easier for Alolan Dugtrio behind a sub
  • Alolan Dugtrio wears down Pokemon such as Poiwrath and Gastrodon so Pyroar and Charizard make good teammates
  • Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu and Lanturn apperciate Alolan Dugtrio's abillity to cripple opposing Ground-types like Gastrodon and Torterra with Toxic
  • Sand Setters such as Hippopotas for the Z-SandStorm set - Why is this mentioned when you're not running Sand Force or Sandstorm?
  • Strong physical sweeper appreciate the support that Sub Toxic gives, like Zangoose and Stoutland
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Choice Scarf can be used if your team needs a solid revenge killer - Describe what it can revenge kill, e.g. most scarf mons (Primeape, Pyroar). I'd also note that scarf with Stone Edge revenge kills Z-Celebrate Charizard
  • Choice Band can be used over Life orb since its stronger, but being Choiced locked can suck for Alolan Dugtrio as it may allow an opposing Pokemon free setup
  • Groundium Z from Earthquake can be used to attempt to break bulky Pokemon such as Gastrodon, however the consistent boost from Lifeorb is preferred - Z Earthquake does not beat Gastrodon from full, so maybe talk about Sableye or at least mention that Gastrodon requires prior chip
  • Groundium Z from Z-Sandstorm gives Dugtrio + 1 Speed and boosts its Ground-type moves in a Sandstorm. - When using Sand Force, specify the ability here
  • I'd mention how Toxic on the offensive set also allows it to cripple switch-ins
Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Pokemon **: such as Sableye and Weezing can take Alolan Dugtrio's attacks with ease - But the latter is set-up bait for the Sub set, you could also mention Type-Null and Mudsdale

**Revenge Killers**: Any Pokemon that outspeeds Alolan Dugtrio that has an offensive presence can easily KO Aolan Dugtrio - Specifically Choice Scarf mons that are not weak to its priority, like Primeape and Pyroar

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath can take Alolan DUgtrio's attacks with ease - Talk about struggling versus the Sub set

**Bulky Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed and Torterra can also take on Alolan Dugtrio with ease - Mention Gourgeist-XL, and also mention how they struggle versus the Sub set

**Priority User** Most priority users are able to either beat or force out Dugtrio-A, due to it having low defences and being weak to things like Hitmonchans's Mach Punch and Kabutop's Aqua Jet

Edit: Forgot to mention this, but Sub Toxic should 100% be the first set, because it offers more utility options for teams to use

Not QC but Stone Edge should be slashed somewhere on the Life Orb set. It hits Zard (who may get banned, but until then), and other miscallaneous flying types like Swanna and Pom-Pom

if zard gets banned, edge should go here

Checks and Counters
=================== spacing here!!!!!!
**Bulky Pokemon **: u cant continue the sentence from bulky pokemon to such. gotta start over. such as Sableye, Type Null, Mudsdale and Weezing can take Alolan Dugtrio's attacks with ease the latter is setup bait for the Sub Toxic set

**Revenge Killers**: Any Pokemon that outspeeds Alolan Dugtrio that has an offensive presence and isnt weak to Sucker Punch can easily KO Aolan Dugtrio. Examples being Primeape and Pyroar you know this segment never gets formally written up so it should look good the whole time right? expand on this a little, it's very low effort

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath can take Alolan DUgtrio's attacks with ease but struggle with its Sub Toxic set same with this

**Bulky Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Gourgeist-XL and Torterra can also take on Alolan Dugtrio with ease same with this

**Priority Users**: Most priority users are able to either beat or force out Dugtrio-A, due to it having low defences and being weak to things like Hitmonchans's Mach Punch and Kabutop's Aqua Jet same with this. info's here but ik u can do better

[OVERVIEW]
  • Decent STAB moves and solid typing what does this mean for the user? i would suggest saying that STAB moves + coverage allow duggy-a to hit the meta for at least neutral damage
  • Good Speed Tier allows it to outspeed most of the tier at neutral wdym by neutral? maybe mention the pokemon its bettered by and potentially archeops which it ties with
  • Tangling Hair is a useful abillity that slows Pokemon down if they make contact not really since u shouldnt be taking too many hits with that bulk, i would remove this point or exemplify that its situational
  • Terrible Defense means it struggles to switch in, even on resisted attacks
  • Attack stat is mediocre meaning it struggles to break bulky teams

  • Bulky Water-type checks such as Ferroseed and Liligant work. With Ferroseed being able to pressure with hazards and Liligant benefiting from things like Skunktank being weakened and Memento support i dont like the point on skunk, what skunk is staying in on duggy so its like ur not even weakening it more so forcing it out, maybe think of a different example like duggy-a baits in bulky waters like gastro which lilligant can use as settup fodder
  • Psychic-types like Choice Specs Mesprit are able to break past most of Dugtrio's common checks like Gourgeist-XL and Weezing

  • Additionally Substitute is good because it keeps Dugtrio safe from Sableye's Will-O-Wisp and it forces 50/50s with Sucker Punch ?? remove the sableyes wisp bit, because that only works when duggy is behind the sub already, and noone is clicking wisp on the sub. remember wisp is prio on sableye

  • Stone Edge can be used to hit malicious Flying-type Pokemon such as Swanna that would otherwise wall it i would move this to the top since its one of the more common coverage moves on duggy

**Bulky Pokemon **: Physically defensive Pokemon such as Sableye, Type Null, Mudsdale and Weezing can take Alolan Dugtrio's attacks with ease and the latter is setup bait for the Sub Toxic set

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Primeape and Pyroar can outspeed and KO Alolan Dugtrio with their respective STAB attacks.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath can deal with Alolan Dugtrio well, however Sub Toxic variants of Alolan Dugtrio can lure in them and wear them down

**Bulky Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-type Pokemon such as Ferroseed, Gourgeist-XL and Torterra wall almost every set of Alolan Dugtrio, but have to be careful for Sub Toxic. In Ferroseed's case this isnt true since its immune to Toxic, allowing it to check Dugtrio with ease.

**Priority Users**: Most priority users are able to either beat or force out Dugtrio-A, due to it having low defense and being weak to common priority such as Hitmonchans's Mach Punch, Gurddur's Mach Punch, Skuntank's Sucker Punch and Kabutop's Aqua Jet.

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Dugtrio's main niche in the PU metagame is its Speed Tier and unique typing. Alolan Dugtrio's STAB attacks and coverage allow it to hit the tier for neutral damage and its Alolan Speed tier allows it to outspeed top threats like Pyroar, as well as sSpeed tie with Alolan Raichu and Archeops. However, keep in mind that its Attack stat is mediocre, which means it struggles to break bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Mesprit. Lastly, Alolan Dugtrio has a terrible defense stat and it struggles to switch in, even on resisted attacks because of this.

- The overview sounds awkward ending on a negative note; as the reader, I'm not getting a good idea of when or why I might use this based on what's written here (why would I consider using this? There are definitely other pros to using Dugtrio-A that you could talk about). Mentioning what Substitute sets can do would help that (as well as what Dugtrio-A threatens out and Subs on).

[SET]
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Pursuit / Memento
item: Life Orb
ability: Tangling Hair
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

AoA should be second set / Sub should be first set. Discussed this a bit in Discord with other QC (Anty mostly) and they agree. Reason being, Dugtrio-A forces switches pretty easily by checking common Pokemon like Skuntank / Lanturn / Magmortar / Abomasnow etc., which allows it to set up a Substitute and attack safely behind Sub rather than having to risk being RKOed right after attacking (without Sub) due to its terrible bulk.

Change EV spread to: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe. Using 4 HP instead of 4 SpD makes it take slightly more damage from passive sources (ex. 3 layers of Spikes). Also, with 4 SpD over 4 HP, you lower the damage you take very slightly (by ~1-2%) from resisted hits:

252+ SpA Mesprit Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Dugtrio-Alola: 93-109 (44 - 51.6%) -- 32.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Mesprit Psychic vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Dugtrio-Alola: 93-110 (43.8 - 51.8%) -- 34% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's best STAB attack that hits everything in the tier, that does not resist it for a solid amount of damage. Iron Head is Alolan Dugtrio's secondary STAB attack that is handy for Pokemon that are immune or resist Earthquake like Weezing and Mesprit. Sucker Punch is used to hit fast threats such as Alolan Raichu, Choice Scarf Haunter, and Choice Scarf Jynx super effectively. Pursuit is used to force out Electric-type Pokemon such as Manetric and Lanturn. Memento can essentially grant free setup to a teammate when Alolan Dugtrio is weak or has no other use in the rest of the battle.

Set Details
========

252 Attack EVs and 2532 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Alolan Dugtrio to take advantage of its superior Speed tier and hit as hard as possible. Tangling Hair is Alolan Dugtrio's preferred ability because it lowers the foes Speed stage of its foe by one if it is hitstruck by a contact move. While Sand Force can be chosen if Alolan Dugtrio is used in conjunction with Sandstorm, its use over Tangling Hair is situational. and its other abilities are not usable outside of sand which is extremely situational.

Usage Tips
========

Alolan Dugtrio is usually useless versus bulkier teams, so it should switch out versus Pokemon like Weezing and Gastrodon that wall it. Use Alolan Dugtrio to revenge kill slower threats such as Pyroar and Manectric. Alolan Dugtrio should use Memento during the right opportunity to ease Setup with another teammate.

Just like in Overview, there is more to say here. Add something to the effect of:

- Alolan Dugtrio, if it's not using Memento, can be sacrificed in battles with unfavorable match-ups by switching directly into physical attacks that would KO Alolan Dugtrio, so as to lower the Speed of its foe via Tangling Hair, which can in turn allow teammates to revenge KO the threat in question more easily.
- Alolan Dugtrio can be preserved for late-game use in case its Sucker Punch needs to be used to stop setup sweepers, such as Normalium Z Jynx or Alolan Raichu.
- Memento should not be used right away, especially if there are Pokemon that can take advantage of Memento on the other side of the field, like Contrary Lurantis or Defiant Primeape.

Team Options
========

Strong wallbreakers like Drampa can open opportunities for Alolan Dugtrio to clean in the late-game. Bulky Water-type checks such as Ferroseed and Liligant also work well with Alolan Dugtrio. Ferroseed can setup hazards and Liligant appreciates Alolan Dugtrio's Memento support, which eases setup. Additionally, Psychic-types like Choice Specs Mesprit are able to break past most of Dugtrio's common checks like Gourgeist-XL and Weezing. Lastly, Alolan Dugtrio pairs well with Fighting-type checks such as Mesprit and Weezing since a common way of revenging it is by Mach Punch from Hitmonchan. Weezing's and Qwilfish's Toxic Spikes wear down many of Alolan Dugtrio's natural checks, as well as bulky Pokemon with the ability to switch into Alolan Dugtrio's STAB-boosted moves, like Ludicolo and Palossand, respectively.

Typo in "Lilligant" in this paragraph btw

move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Toxic

Moves
========

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's strongest STAB move that hits everything in the tier that doesn't resist it for decent damage. Iron Head is Alolan Dugtrio's secondary STAB move that hits everything that Earthquake misses out on such as Pokemon with Levitate like Weezing and Mesprit. Toxic is used to lure in and put bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath on a timer. When coupled with Toxic, Substitute is used to ease prediction and wear down teams. Substitute also allows Alolan Dugtrio to be safe from Will-O-Wisp Weezing too. When this set is used in conjunction with Toxic Spikes support, Toxic can be replaced with Stone Edge, which expands its coverage and allows Alolan Dugtrio to hit Pokemon like Swanna and Rotom-S super effectively.

Set Details
========

252 Attack Evs and 252 Speed Evs allow Alolan Dugtrio to hit as hard as possible and be as fast as possible with Jolly nature. Leftovers gives Alolan Dugtrio passive recovery which allows it to use Substitute more often. Tangling Hair is the preferred ability because it lowers the foe's speed by 1 if hit by a contact move and its other abilities are generally more situational.

Usage Tips
========

Alolan Dugtrio should use Toxic to wear down bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath. Similarly, i It should use Substitute on Pokemon that cant break its Substitute like Weezing lacking Flamethrower. Additionally, use Substitute on Pokemon that Alolan Dugtrio can force out like Lanturn and Manectric, also use Substitute to keep it safe from Sableye's Will-O-Wisp when its behind a sub, and force 50/50s with Sucker Punch users like Absol and Skuntank. More generally, Alolan Dugtrio should use Substitute against poisoned foes in order to rack up poison damage. Lastly, try to avoid switching in Alolan Dugtrio, even on resisted hits, because it's super frail.

Do not include the bit about Sableye. It burns you before you Sub because Prankster Wisp hits you first.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard users such as Ferroseed and Qwilfish make for good teammates because they make it easier for Alolan Dugtrio to clean since its Attack Stat is mediocre. Alolan Dugtrio wears down Pokemon such as Poiwrath and Gastrodon with Toxic, so Pokemon like Pyroar make decent teammates. Additionally, Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu and Lanturn appreciate Alolan Dugtrio's ability to cripple opposing Ground-types like Gastrodon and Torterra with Toxic. Strong physical attackers like Zangoose and Stoutland make good partners because they appreciate when Toxic wears down their defensive answers, like Regirock and Carracosta. Additionally, Kangaskhan also appreciates Normal checks weakened, and it can rack up poison damage thanks to Alolan Dugtrio's Toxic via Fake Out. Lastly, Fighting-type checks such as Weezing and Mesprit pair well with Dugtrio because they resist Fighting and are immune to Ground-type attacks.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Stone Edge can be used over Pursuit on its all-out-attacker set to hit malicious (lol) Flying-type Pokemon such as Swanna that would otherwise wall it. Choice Scarf can also be used if your team needs a solid way at revenge killing fast threats like Pyroar and Primeape, however, keep in mind that Choice Scarf Alolan Dugtrio is super weak. Additionally, Choice Band can be used over Life orb since its stronger, however being Choice locked can be costly for Alolan Dugtrio as it may potentially allow an opposing Pokemon free setup. Groundium Z from Earthquake can be used to attempt to break past bulky Pokemon such as Gastrodon with prior damage, however, the consistent boost from Life Orb is preferred. Lastly, Rockium Z from Z-Sandstorm gives Dugtrio + 1 Speed and boosts its Ground, Rock, and Steel-type moves in a Sandstorm when using Sand Force. Darkinium Z Memento can be used to give new life to a sweeper of your choice, by easing its setup and healing it to 100% HP at the same time. The drawbacks of using Z Memento are giving up Leftovers recovery on its Substitute set, or losing attack power on its all-out-attacker set.

Remove Skuntank's Sucker Punch - it isn't a great example of priority that just wins against Dugtrio-A (unlike the other examples you listed), because you can generally Sub into an EQ against Skuntank with Sucker Punch.
Implement the above, and then this will be 3/3 QC, TJ.

In Ferroseed's case, though, this isnt true since its it's immune to Toxic, allowing it to can check Alolan Dugtrio with ease.

**Priority Users**: Most priority users are able to either beat or force out Alolan Dugtrio Dugtrio-A, (RC) due to it having low Defense and being weak to common priority such as Hitmonchans's Mach Punch, Gurddur's Gurdurr's Mach Punch, and (There are two spaces there) Kabutops's Aqua Jet.

ZeitoKrabby nice amcheck. I agreed with almost everything, but it's really hard for me to go over it if you put it in quote tags. For the future, I recommend hide tags. Feel free to PM me on Pokemon Showdown or Discord (I use the username Eien on those platforms as well) if you want me to go over specific points with you, since I was unable to do so here.

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Dugtrio's main niche in the PU metagame is the combination of [singular 'niche + is' otherwise compared to a plural] its Speed tier and unique typing. Its best set is Substitute + Toxic, which forces out Pokemon like Lanturn and Pyroar and cripples checks like Gastrodon with Toxic. Alolan Dugtrio's STAB attacks and coverage allow it to hit the tier for neutral damage, and its Speed tier allows it to outspeed top threats like Pyroar, (RC) as well as Speed tie with Alolan Raichu and Archeops. However, keep in mind that its Attack stat is mediocre, which means it struggles to break bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Mesprit. Lastly, be aware that Alolan Dugtrio has a terrible Defense stat and struggles to switch in, (RC) on even resisted attacks.

Moves
========

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's strongest STAB move that and hits everything in the tier that doesn't resist it for decent damage. Iron Head is Alolan Dugtrio's secondary STAB move that hits everything that Earthquake misses out on, (RC) [only use a comma before such as when going into a list] such as Pokemon with Levitate like Weezing and Mesprit. When this set is used in conjunction with Toxic Spikes support, Toxic can be replaced with Stone Edge, which expands its Alolan Dugtrio's coverage and allows Alolan Dugtrio it to hit Pokemon like Swanna and Rotom-S super effectively.

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Alolan Dugtrio to hit as hard and be as fast as possible with a Jolly nature. Leftovers gives Alolan Dugtrio passive recovery, which allows it to use Substitute more often. Tangling Hair is the preferred ability because it lowers the foe's Speed by one stage if Alolan Dugtrio is hit by a contact move, (AC) and its other abilities are generally more situational.

Usage Tips
========

========

Entry hazard users such as Ferroseed and Qwilfish make for good teammates because hazards make it easier for Alolan Dugtrio to clean, since its Attack stat is mediocre. Alolan Dugtrio wears down Pokemon bulky Water-types [are you okay with this change? I feel like more specification is needed here or in the Pyroar clause] such as Poiwrath Poliwrath and Gastrodon with Toxic, so Pokemon like Pyroar make decent teammates. Lastly, Finally, [optional, but you've used Lastly quite a bit at this point] Fighting-type checks such as [not all fighting type checks are immune to ground-type attacks, you could also do something like: 'Fighting-type checks pair well with Dugtrio to compensate for its weakness to Fighting; Weezing and Mesprit in particular pair well with Dugtrio because they are also immune to Ground-type attacks.'] Weezing and Mesprit pair well with Dugtrio because they resist Fighting and are immune to Ground-type attacks.

Moves

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's best STAB attack that and hits everything in the tier that does not resist it for a solid amount of damage. Iron Head is Alolan Dugtrio's secondary STAB attack that is handy for Pokemon that are immune to or resist Earthquake like Weezing and Mesprit.

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs and with [optional] a Jolly nature allow Alolan Dugtrio to hit as hard as possible and take advantage of its superior Speed tier. (Add Space)Tangling Hair lowers the Speed of its Alolan Dugtrio's foe by one stage if it is struck by a contact move. While Sand Force can be chosen if Alolan Dugtrio is used in conjunction with Sandstorm, its use over Tangling Hair is situational.

Usage Tips
========

Additionally, if it's not using Memento, it Alolan Dugtrio can be sacrificed in battles with unfavorable matchups by switching directly into physical attacks that would KO Alolan Dugtrio it to lower the Speed of its foe via Tangling Hair, which allow its teammates to revenge kill the threat in question more easily.

Team Options
========

Strong wallbreakers like Drampa can open opportunities for Alolan Dugtrio to late-game clean late-game. Lastly, Alolan Dugtrio pairs well with Fighting-type checks such as Mesprit and Weezing, since a common way of revenging it is by using Mach Punch from Hitmonchan. Weezing's and Qwilfish's Toxic Spikes wears down many of Alolan Dugtrio's natural checks, (RC) as well as bulky Pokemon with the ability to switch into Alolan Dugtrio's STAB-boosted moves, like Ludicolo and Palossand, respectively.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Stone Edge can be used over Pursuit on Alolan Dugtrio's all-out-attacker All-out Attacker set to hit Flying-type Pokemon such as Swanna that would otherwise wall it. Choice Scarf can also be used if your Alolan Dugtrio's team needs a solid way of revenge killing fast threats like Pyroar and Primeape; however, keep in mind that Choice Scarf Alolan Dugtrio is very weak. Additionally, Choice Band can be used over Life Orb for more power; however, being Choice-locked (AH) can be costly for Alolan Dugtrio, as it may potentially give an opposing Pokemon a free setup opportunity. Groundium Z with Earthquake can be used to attempt to break past bulky Pokemon such as Gastrodon with prior damage; however, the consistent damage output boost from Life Orb is preferred. Lastly, [this isn't the last OO you mention] Rockium Z allows Alolan Dugtrio to use Z-Sandstorm to give it +1 (Removed Space between + and 1) Speed and boost its Rock-, (RC) and Ground-type moves with Sand Force. Darkinium + Z + Memento Darkinium Z can be used with Memento to give new life to a sweeper of your choice by easing its setup and healing it to 100% HP at the same time. The drawback of using Z-Memento is giving up Leftovers recovery on its Alolan Dugtrio's Substitute set or losing attack power on its all-out-attacker All-out Attacker set.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Bulky Pokemon**: (Removed Space between Pokemon and **) Physically defensive Pokemon such as Sableye, Type: Null, Mudsdale, and Weezing can take Alolan Dugtrio's attacks with ease, although Weezing is setup bait for the Substitute + Toxic set.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Pokemon users such as Primeape and Pyroar can outspeed and KO Alolan Dugtrio with their respective STAB attacks.

In Ferroseed's case, though, since it's immune to Toxic, it can check Alolan Dugtrio with ease since it's immune to Toxic.

**Priority Users**: Most priority users are able to either beat or force out Alolan Dugtrio due to it having low Defense and being weak to common priority such as Hitmonchan's Mach Punch, Gurdurr's Mach Punch, and Kabutops's Aqua Jet.
