Overview
Mega Mawile is one of the premier Slow and Bulky hard hitters thanks to its typing, moves, and abilities. Mega Mawile effectively utilizes 2 abilities in-battle; Intimidate allows it to reduce physical attackers power by 1 stage while Huge Power doubles Mega Mawile's Attack to the highest unboosted Attack in the game. Intimidate and Mega Mawile's naturally high physical defense makes it great against physically-biased Pokemon, but its low Special Defense makes it susceptible to some strong special Pokémon. It's blessed with a great defensive typing, only weak to Fire and Ground, while also having 9 resistances and 2 immunities. This gives a Mega Mawile an edge against popular Dragon-, Fairy-, and Fighting-type Pokemon. Unfortunately, Fire- and Ground-type Pokemon are very prevalent. Mega Mawile also has a decent movepool including Iron Head, Play Rough, Swords Dance, Sucker Punch and some niche options including Metal Burst, Fire Fang, Thunder Punch, and Taunt. Mega Mawile also is very slow, although that is somewhat mitigated by priority Sucker Punch. In the end however, It faces stiff competition with Magearna, who has a higher Special Defense stat, as a Steel/Fairy bulky attacker.

Swords Dance
Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

Set Comments

Moves

Iron Head is Mega Mawile's best Steel STAB move and is the most consistent. Play Rough is Mega Mawile's strongest STAB Fairy move, but only has 90% accuracy. Sucker Punch is a very strong priority move that can help pick off faster foes. Swords Dance is useful in breaking walls as their high Defense may make it difficult to break and is also useful to combo with Sucker Punch to break faster Pokemon.

Set Details

252 Attack and Adamant Nature provide the most attack possible allowing Mega Mawile to break as many foes as possible. 252 HP gives Mega Mawile a lot of bulk to survive as many hits as possible. 4 Special Defense gives Mega Mawile a small increase in Special Defense
Intimidate as the pre-mega ability allows Mega Mawile to survive as many physical hits as possible.

Usage Tips

Mega Mawile should be used against popular Dragon-, Fighting-, and Dark-type Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Gyarados or notable physical Pokemon like Kartana and Crustle. However, avoid sending out Mega Mawile against Fire- and Ground-types like both Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y and Donphan. In most situations, Mega Mawile will use Play Rough or Iron Head depending on the opponent's typing and then finish them with Sucker Punch. Against walls and Pokemon with Counter like Chansey and Mega Ampharos, Swords Dance should be used to maximize damage instead of 2HKOing. Against Pokemon that carry Taunt such as Mega Gyarados, be hesistant with using Swords Dance as it's likely that they will Taunt you out of it.

Team Options

Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados and Mega Blastoise are great at taking down Fire-types and Ground-types that threaten Mega Mawile the most. Fire and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Golem are great at beating Steel-type Pokemon and Tapu Koko that resist both of Mega Mawile's STAB moves. Special Walls like Chansey and Blissey can beat pokemon like Porygon-Z and Greninja that could take advantage Mega Mawile's low special Defense. Choice Specs users like Porygon-Z and Greninja with Extrasensory can beat some physical Walls like Mega Slowbro and Mega Venusaur. Tapu Koko, Electric-types like Magnezone, and Grass-type Pokémon like Kartana can beat bulky Water-types that can cause problems for Mega Mawile.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

Taunt is a great option to surprise Stall Pokemon like Mega Slowbro that might expect Swords Dance in its place. Metal Burst and some bulkier spreads can surprise some Pokemon like Choice Specs Porygon-Z. Fire Fang can be used to beat Steel-types especially Durant and Kartana. A fast spread with 252 speed EVs can be used to outspeed other slow base 50 Pokemon. Hyper Cutter is another option as an ability to allow Mawile to boost its attack while against Charm users like Blissey and Chansey. Endure can be useful against Pokemon that utilize Recharge moves like Mega Charizard Y or Porygon-Z. Thunder Punch helps against certain Water-types like Gyarados or Primarina.

Checks and Counters

Fire-types: Fire-types like Blaziken and Mega Charizard Y and Blaziken can easily OHKO Mega Mawile with their STAB Fire attack.

Ground-types: Ground-types like Golem and Donphan can similarly use Tectonic Rage to easily beat Mega Mawile.

Steel Pokemon: Steel-types resist both of of Mega Mawile's STAB options, so Pokemon like Genesect and Mega Aggron can easily beat Mega Mawile.

Strong special pokemon: Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Porygon-Z, and Greninja can take advantage of Mega Mawile's low Special Defense and can OHKO before Mega Mawile can retaliate.

Special Water-types: Special Water-types like Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Blastoise can take advantage of Mega Mawile's low Special Defense with powerful moves like Hydro Cannon or Hydro Pump.

While I appreciate your feedback those spreads are very specific, not anticipated, not really that good, and very niche. It's not that they're not useful, they just aren't noteworthy.

amcheck/suggestions, implement what you like

overview
- state what its great typing lets it beat
- give examples of some common fire and ground-type pokemon that beat mmaw
- wouldn't call sd a utility move, just say sd with sucker punch gives it great priority that mitigates its poor speed (which you already said)
- mention how its physical bulk is really good with base 125, great defensive typing, and intimidate

moves
- for the sd line, i dont think mentioning high defense mons is good since most of them run iron defense/variants (eg mega slowbro, deo-d, mega venusaur) so probably mention how it powers up sucker punch mostly

set details
- okay, this is the big thing; speed creeping other of your own pokemon isnt allowed. since this is an analysis, and most people will be using this set, all you end up doing is speed tying yourself. it's just a large cycle that continues adding 4 EVs to speed every time and eventually it just resets, so 4/8 speed for that matter is banned in analyses
- as such, just make it a normal spread of 252 hp / 252 atk / 4 spd
- "Intimidate as the pre-mega ability allows Mega Mawile to survive as many physical hits as possible."

usage tips
- say when to pick mega mawile in team preview considering its matchups and opposing pokemon
- give examples for walls and taunt users
- say that you can use mega mawile to discourage mons like kyurem-b from coming in

team options
- greninja's not beating mega venusaur; use deo-d instead
- give examples of mons mega mawile can support. it beats kyurem-b, tapu lele, and magearna for mons like zard, greninja, and dnite

other options
- mention why all these options are usually not preferred over the things on the set
- say why hyper cutter is usually bad; i.e it only works if you dont mega evolve and, as such, you dont get huge power. also say that intimidate is usually better because it activates immediately and allows mawile to mega evolve
actually, im not convinced hyper cutter deserves to be oo at all

c&c
fine

nicely done!

Swords Dance
Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

Set Comments

Moves

- Iron Head is Mega Mawile's most consistent STAB move with 80 BP and 100% accuracy.
- Play Rough is Mega Mawile's strongest STAB, but only has a 90% accuracy.
- Sucker Punch is a very strong priority move that can help pick off faster foes.
- Swords Dance is useful in breaking walls as their high Defense may make it difficult to break.
This is fine but in the first two moves (Iron Head and Play Rough) you have just stated their specifications like what /dt does and accuracy consistency and power. Also add in against which all/kind of Pokemon are these moves useful like Play Rough against Mega Altaria, Lopunny and all

Set Details

- 252 Attack and Adamant Nature provide the most attack possible allowing Mega Mawile to break as many foes as possible.
- 248 HP gives Mega Mawile a lot of bulk to survive as many hits as possible.
- 8 Speed is used to outspeed Mega Mawile that have lower investment in Speed. As lotiasite said that speed creeping is banned in analyses so change that
- Intimidate as the pre-mega ability allows Mega Mawile to survive as many hits as possible.

Usage Tips
- When to pick it, the favoring factors (Team Preview)

- In most situations, Mega Mawile will use Play Rough or Iron Head depending on the opponent's typing and then finish them with Sucker Punch.
- Against walls and other Pokemon that can't 3HKO Mega Mawile, Swords Dance should be used to maximize damage. One or two matchups where Swords Dance is useful
- Against pokemon that carry Taunt such as (give one or two examples), be hesistant with using Swords Dance as it's likely that they will Taunt you out of it.
- Against Pokemon that carry Counter such as Ampharos (Which may decided not to Mega Evolve and use Counter) Chansey either use a weaker move on the first turn or set up with Swords Dance and then attack in order to pick up the victory against them [This one can be written in continuation with the second point]

Team Options

- Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados and Mega Blastoise are great at taking down Fire-types and Ground-types that threaten Mega Mawile the most.
- Fire and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Golem are great at beating Steel-type pokemon that resist both of Mega Mawile's STAB moves.
- Special Walls like Chansey and Blissey can beat pokemon such as (Greninja, Genesect, Zard Y if predicted the Zard variant correctly) that could take advantage Mega Mawile's low special Defense.
- Choice Specs users like Porygon-Z and Greninja with Extransensory can beat some physical Walls like Mega Slowbro and Mega Venusaur
Specs Greninja has a hard time defeating Mega Venusaur with Ice Beam, add in Tapu Lele Or if you meant that Porygon-Z defeats both and Greninja can be used to defeat other Physical walls then its fine

Strategy Comments

Other Options

- Taunt is a great option to surprise Stall Pokemon such as (Mega Slowbro who might not anticipate Taunt and mega evolve) that might expect Swords Dance in its place.
- Metal Burst and some bulkier spreads can surprise some pokemon like Choice Specs Porygon-Z
- Fire Fang can be used to beat Steel-types especially Durant, Genesect, and Kartana. Defeats Genesect if it doesn't have Flamethrower or Scarf Flamethrower 25% of the time
- A fast spread with 252 speed EVs can be used to outspeed other Mega Mawile's to beat the mirror match
- Hyper Cutter is an option to boost Mega Mawile's attack while against Charm users like Blissey and Chansey.
- Endure can be used for taking Blast Burn from Mega Charizard Y, Hydro Cannon from Greninja, Specs Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z and Mega Mawile can retaliate while they reacharge. Also helps against Victini, potentially Blast Burn Blaziken, Hydro Cannon Mega Blastoise

Give some one or two non Sturdy as well (Yawn Mega Swampert, Groundium Z Garchomp, Landorus-T)

Steel Pokemon:
Steel-types resist both of of Mega Mawile's STAB options so pokemon like Genesect and Magearna can easily beat Mega Mawile. Magearna actually doesn't resist Mega Mawile's Steel STAB and the fast Mega Mawile set can actually defeat Magearna 252 Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 84 Def Magearna: 186-219 (51 - 60.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Replace with Mega Aggron

Strong special pokemon: Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Porygon-Z, and Greninja can take advantage of Mega Mawile's low Special Defense and can OHKO before Mega Mawile can retaliate.
Well-written great analysis!

Overview:
- Replace Taunt in niche options with Thunder Punch, since people actually use TPunch from time to time but never Taunt

Set Details:
- You mention 8 SpD when you actually have only 4

Usage Tips:

Team Options:
Quality section, optional mention of Koko counter

Other Options:
- Add Thunder Punch.

Overview

Mention its poor Spdf compared to others that won't allow it to live most special attackers
Mention its movepool BEFORE its low speed.

Team Options
Mega Mawile is weak to most Water-types in 1v1, mention Pokemon that can beat these.

Other Options
Do not mention in OO a speed to creep other Mmawiles because everyone is going to read this and will adjust.

Checks and Counters
Maybe mention Special water attackers?
