  1. April 5-7th 7* raid - Psychic Meganium

These randoms are so braindead, I’ve only been able to win with two sets: Floragato @ Eviolite 252/0-/252+/0/0/4 Protean -Charm/Taunt -Mud slap (PPMax) -Helping hand -Fake tears Charm at start is needed for randos. If you get 3 charms, then Meg will stop cursing once she hits +6 Def (so +0...
  2. February - March 7* Raids: Tera Ground Venusaur, Tera Steel Blastoise, and Tera Dragon Charizard

If you want to play with randoms, know that any debuffs do not get removed from zard. And his lack of boosting means you are very free to cripple him. Fast eerie impulse => you are very unlikely to lose. Light screen is a good alternative. Fake Tears, Mud Slap, and screech are also great since...
  3. February - March 7* Raids: Tera Ground Venusaur, Tera Steel Blastoise, and Tera Dragon Charizard

Smeargle is pretty fun here in randoms, since you don’t get bodied. Specially defensive with Sitrus. -Instruct -Struggle Bug -Lumina Crash -Decorate/Simple Beam Should be obvious. Simple beam greatly aids Skeledirge/Vaporeon. Decorate for other teammates.
  4. February - March 7* Raids: Tera Ground Venusaur, Tera Steel Blastoise, and Tera Dragon Charizard

Funny set: Arboliva @ Petaya Berry Harvest, Specially Defensive -Sunny Day -Fling (max PP) -Synthesis -Helping Hand Imagine Alcremie, but worse. You fling petaya berries at special attackers to charge them up. It is a slow and painful process, that just works vs Blastoise. People get very...
  5. February - March 7* Raids: Tera Ground Venusaur, Tera Steel Blastoise, and Tera Dragon Charizard

My general opinion from playing randos, in terms of what is good on the randoms ladder (assuming you know how to play this pokemon) S: Delphox A: Gallade, Espathra B: Gastrodon, Vaporeon, Koraidon, Umbreon, Chansey line, Alcremie, Oranguru C : Poliwrath, Volcanion, Arboliva D: Iron Hands...
  6. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

I would run Power of Alchemy, but it doesn’t really matter. Alolan Muk’s main set is: Helping Hand, Taunt, AcidSpray/Screech, Snarl/ClearSmog. There are several options to pick from, and it can be customized to your specific needs. That said, Mud Slap is normally not worth Muk’s time.
  7. Dec 22- 25 - 7* Iron Bundle (Ice)

Updating my thoughts from before on the quality of supports vs Iron Bundle with randos. Including more pokemon, and some adjustments: Italic = I haven’t tested personally S: Magneton (immortal) A: Scream tail, Tinkatuff, Umbreon, Frosmoth (alternate win con), Mew B+: Oranguru, Plusle, Joltik...
  8. Dec 22- 25 - 7* Iron Bundle (Ice)

Several fire types work with this method. Including Iron Moth. —- So far, I’ve beaten iron bundle with several supports. Here are my general thoughts (playing with randos): S: Magneton (immortal) A: Scream tail, Tinkatuff, Frosmoth (immortal), Alcremie, Joltik, Umbreon B: Oranguru, Azurill...
  9. Dec 22- 25 - 7* Iron Bundle (Ice)

Frosmom is good. Light screen is better than veil because you just don’t depend on hail, which can get overwritten by teammates.
  10. Dec 22- 25 - 7* Iron Bundle (Ice)

Here are 2 support sets that work very well with randoms: Scream Tail @ Light clay 252/0/0/0/252+/4 Sunny day, Light screen, sunny day, fake tears, helping hand. I was running psychic fangs before, but I dropped it since it is bugged. Magneton @ Eviolite 252/0-/0/0/252+/4 Eerie impulse...
  11. Dec 22- 25 - 7* Iron Bundle (Ice)

Coming in from Blaines’ server. We just ran OHKO strats with Gholdengo/Magnezone + 3 Perrserkers. Iron Bundle’s Aurora veil did not affect our damage output. Brick break did not increase our damage. We tried with/without brick break. It looks like the penguin’s veil is bugged. EDIT: Maybe it is...
  12. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

If you just want fun picks that can work, my Deerling, Floragato/Sprigatito, Joltik, Cottonee, and Azurill all work. Joltik, Tinkatuff, Golduck, Grumpig, and Misdreavus are all very strong, with several matchups where they are best in slot.
  13. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

My mistake. Sorry, I must have mixed up movesets on serebii. Then I can’t see Tentacruel having a good niche tbh. He’s just outclassed by so many options. Goes into the pile of suboptimal fun picks that can work.
  14. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

That is not an optimal use of tentacruel, over options like Alolan Muk. I would recommend Tentacruel with 252/0-/0/0/252+/4 with wide lens, Screech, Taunt, HelpingHand, Skitter Smack. Tentacruel’s advantage over Muk is speed, while Muk outclasses him vs physical threats. Fast taunt with screech...
  15. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

Smeargle works great if you have a damage mitigating support alongside him who lets him live enough to spam crazy support moves. Otherwise, he’s just bad. You get checkmated, even by middling threats. Smeargle might be more self-sufficient with Burning Bulwark vs physical threats. But it still...
  16. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

I still argue Recover is a terrible move for supports. A support’s main job is to support the team. If you use Recover, sure you survive better, but you are not doing your main job (eg you are not making progress for the team). If you need to use Recover once, that is strictly inferior to Sitrus...
  17. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

Recover is a terrible move for raids unless you are playing solo, and the whole point of Alcremie is to run support. Recover costs a turn and a moveslot, both of which are very valuable on Alcremie. With Sitrus, I never need to use Recover, and at most heal cheer once to support team without...
  18. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

I mean Smeargle itself can’t learn moves by breeding. ie Nothing new or lost vs before. I just investigated in case new mechanics added convenience for smeargle in any way.
  19. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

I did some testing, and have info about Smeargle, with respect to new mechanics: 1) Sketch in raid copies a move temporarily, like Mimic. You will lose the learned move when leaving/winning the raid. 2) Smeargle cannot relearn sketched moves via Remember Move mechanic. Smeargle also can’t pass...
  20. Tera Raid Set Theorycrafting for Pokemon DLC Mons

This also applies to Malamar’s own Fake Tears, so sequencing is important. My point is Malamar has a lot of great tools, but is so far pretty hard to deploy without coordination.
