[OVERVIEW]

* Togedemaru’s main reason of use is it’s Lightning Rod ability allowing support to teammates with Electric-type weaknesses.
* Togedemaru acts as A Support pokemon with access to Moves like Encore, Nuzzle and Fake Out to create Opening for Teamates as well as the previously Mentioned Lightning Rod.
* Togedemaru can sometimes be a liability due to how frail it is. Sometimes if Togedemaru isn't brought out t the right time an easily be countered and faint instantly.
* Out of the 2 viable Lightning Rod users, Togedemaru stands out as having a less offensive Playstyle and less of a DIY build.

Moves
========

* Fake Out is a way to temporarily stop a threat to give way for another Pokemon to KO it or to setup and increase sweeping potential.
* Zing Zap is the main damaging move on the set. It is the best Physical STAB move Togedemaru has access to and has decent neutral damage.
* Encore traps an opponent into a move which can (depending on the move) shut down a Pokemon for a brief time to help a teammate take it out.
* Poison Jab provides a way to hit Pokemon such as Fairy- and Grass-types that Resist Electric-type moves. The main targets being most of the Tapu's and common Grass-types like Bulu, Whimsicott and Liligant.
* Nuzzle helps to cripple faster Pokemon than Togedemaru or its teammates with its 100% Paralysis chance.
* Spiky Shield helps to scout out for Ground-type coverage (mainly Earthquake) and has the bonus of having Rocky Helmet damage when contact is made with Togedemaru.

Set Details
========

* Focus Sash is a way to give Togedemaru a way to guarantee a 2HKO on it in the case of an emergency.
* Air Balloon is an alternative option that keeps Togedemaru safe from Ground Attacks until it is hit, giving it a way of staying in on Ground-types for a short period.
* Lightning Rod gives support to Water and Flying-type Pokemon eliminating the worry of Electric-types.
* Due to Togedemaru's frailty, the EV spread is quite obvious. A Jolly nature combined with Speed EVs allows maximum Speed to be as fast as possible so it can use moves like Encore and Nuzzle before the opponent can react. Attack EVs allow Togedemaru to get the maximum damage out of its attacks. Remaining EVs are invested in HP because Wynaut (get it?).

Usage Tips
========

* Togedemaru works well mostly as a lead with the initial effect of Fake Out. Togedemaru isn't the best late game as most of the teammates it wants to support aren't around.
* Caution should be used when Togedemaru is on the field as Ground-type coverage is very common. Spiky Shield can be used to scout out for opposing Ground-type coverage.
* Spreading Paralysis with Nuzzle is useful in crippling faster threats and gives Togedemaru a way to out speed Pokemon it wouldn't be able to normally.
* Togedemaru should not be switched in directly into an attack with it's low Defense, so Togedemaru should be switched in on free hits. Like when expecting An Electric-type move or when Air Balloon is active - Ground-type moves. as switching into resisted hits could result in the Air Balloon Breaking.

Team Options
========

* Togedemaru should be used alongside a Water- or Flying-type Pokemon so Lightning Rod can be used effectively and properly. Pokemon like Tapu Fini and Celesteela are the most common examples of teammates. Others like Gyarados and Pelipper benefit the most from Lightning Rod as it removes their 4x weakness to Electric-types Water-types can also, in turn deal with Ground-types, a way to help Togedemaru in return.
* Water- and Flying-types can also deal with Fire- and Fighting-types which present some problems to Togedemaru.
* Other Pokemon that can help deal with Ground-types are appreciated heavily. Grass- and Ice-types are examples of types that can do this. Examples include Alolan Ninetales and Tapu Bulu with Bulu's added bonus of Grassy Terrain to lessen Ground-type damage.
* Togedemaru has good Synergy with Tailwind setters and Setup Sweepers as most Tailwind Setters can Benefit from Lightning Rod as well as Encore giving time for sweepers to setup. Tailwind Setters like Mandibuzz and Talonflame as well as setup sweepers like Snorlax are appreciated

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Electrium Z can be used with Zing Zap though the Item slot can be better used on other items.
* Poisinium Z is also an option with Poison Jab and has a bit more usefulness that Electrium Z due to coerage though still has less worth than other items.
* Spiky Shield can be replaced by an attacking move to run Assault Vest though Spiky Shield is more useful than another attacking move.
* Gyro Ball can be added to use Steelium Z for a one time use, the real disadvantage being the sheer lack of usefulness Gyro Ball has after the Z move is used due to Togedemaru's higher Speed.
* U-turn can help Togedemaru get away from threats or help the team gain momentum.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ground-types**: Ground-types present a 4x weakness to Togedemaru, which isn't helpful with it's low Defences. In most cases, Togedemaru should switch out against a Ground-type, as it can easily OHKO Togedemaru, and they resist most of Togedemaru's Attacks. Examples include Garchomp, Mudsdale and Krookodile.

**Burns**: Burns, hinder Togedemaru's performance Offensively and Defensively thanks to the decrease in attack it gives. Pokemon like Alolan Marowak and Arcanine are especially problematic with both Lightning Rod and Intimidate.

**Faster Pokemon**: Pokemon Like Pheromosa, Arcanine and Garchomp can all out speed Togedemaru naturally and can all OHKO Togedemaru with a super effective attack. This presents a major problem to Togedemaru making it's role of a fast support Pokemon irrelevant.

**Speed Control**: As Togedemaru's main role is to out speed Pokemon, Trick Room and Tailwind from the opposing Team presents a problem to Togedemaru and severely lowers its usefulness. Nuzzle is also countered during Trick Room as the Speed lowering effect of Paralysis only helps the opposing Team. Pokemon to look out for include Trick Room setters like Porygon 2 and Oranguru, and Tailwind setters like Mandibuzz and Talonflame.

Sorry this took so long to get around to.

Overview
  • To be honest, this section is bad and needs some work. The last three bullet points aren't relevant. Togedemaru's resistances and weaknesses aren't especially noteworthy because of its frailty, and offensive coverage isn't that important because it's primarily a supporter.
    • When writing an Overview you need to be asking questions like: What is Togedemaru's niche in the metagame? Is it good? On what teams should I be using it? What enviroments does it perform good/badly in? Are there alternatives that might be better choices? etc...
  • The reason you use Togedemaru is that there are only two relevant Lightning Rod users, and Togedemaru takes a completely different approach than Alolan Marowak, allowing it to stand out.
    • Tools like Fake Out and Encore importantly allow Togedemaru to create openings for its teammates
Set
  • The set should be:
Fake Out
Zing Zap
Encore / Poison Jab / Nuzzle
Spiky Shield
  • U-turn can go to Other Options.
  • You stated what EVs are being used, but not why. For example, you could state that Togedemaru is quite frail anyway, and that being able to use moves like Encore before foes is important.
Usage Tips
  • Mention that Togedemaru works fairly well as a lead thanks to the initial momentum gain from Fake Out. You generally don't want to keep it around for the late-game because the partners it wants to support won't be around.
  • The last bullet point had the right idea, but Togedemaru doesn't really "revenge kill" foes, so remove that bit. Mention that Electric attacks and, with Air Balloon, Ground attacks, can present free switches, but that switching into attacks is particularly risky with Air Balloon due to it breaking.
Team Options
  • In the first bullet point, the focus should be slightly more on Water-types, since they can remove Ground-types for Togedemaru in return.
  • The third bullet point should become the second and be reworded to follow-on from the first, since you're recommending the same types of Pokemon.
  • You need to mention setup users appreciating the room given by tools like Fake Out, Encore, and Lightning Rod. This could be anything from Tailwind setters, to sweepers like Snorlax.
  • Remove the mention of Wide Guard. At that point you're using support to support a support.
Other Options
  • Remove Reversal and Toxic.
  • Add Electrium Z and Poisonium Z, as well as King's Rock + Fling
  • What do you mean Gyro Ball + Steelium Z sacrifices power? The real disadvantage is that Gyro Ball is not very good after using the Z-Crystal because of Togedemaru's Speed.
Checks and Counters
  • Remove "Fire-types" and "Fighting-types". Togedemaru is so frail that traditional type matchups outside of Ground-types, who have an immunity, aren't relevant.
    • Instead, add a tag for "Faster Pokemon" and mention a few examples of Pokemon that outspeed Togedemaru and can OHKO it with an attack.
  • Change "Trick Room" to "Speed Control" and add Tailwind. Also, add that Trick Room counters the use of Nuzzle to slow down foes.

Tag me when implemented.

* Poison Jab provides a way to, to..... I got nothing.
The idea is to get some extra use out of an Attack stat that you're investing in regardless, if support outside of Fake Out is not highly desired. Grass-types are the main targets, since they resist Electric, and two of the most prevalent ones are also Fairy-type. That group includes Tapu Bulu, Whimsicott, Lilligant, Tsareena etc... It also hits Tapu Koko, who also resists Electric, and Tapu Lele, both of whom are extremely common.

If you need any help, then PM me on here or Discord :toast:
