Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I reset Pokemon Sun and wanted to do a speedrun of the game. After getting Festival Plaza in the early stages I traded for a L40 Hoothoot. Never have I witnessed in my 5 years of playing that this Hoothoot disobeyed my commands during my first island trial. I guess they put this mechanic there...
Here's another potentially interesting revenge killer/sweeper set using the Salac Berry. This can be particularly handy is Stealth Rock is on your side of the field.
Blacephalon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Mind Blown
-...
My vote for a check goes to The Squash's Glalie. Freeze-Dry is a reliable move to take on Gliscor. Not only that, but it will hit the Water-types that typically switch in to cover Gliscor's weaknesses.
Here's a Pokemon that can catch Gliscor by surprise.
Tyranitar @ Icium Z
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Atk / 76 Def
Relaxed/Impish Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
EVs and nature are optimised so min attack neutral natured Gliscor...
I like making music too. I have a piano, keyboard and acoustic guitar at the moment but would love to learn the saxophone, vibraphone and, most definitely the harp. If only I had more money (and more room inside my small house).
My keyboard is also Yamaha btw.
Blaziken @ Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Protect
- Baton Pass
- Flare Blitz / Blaze Kick
This is a lead set that can not only take on Ferrothorn, but their teammates as well if played correctly. Speed Boost, Protect and Focus Sash...
Fire Fist Ace's Mega-Lucario
If Mold Breaker didn't ignore Moody I would've submitted Excadrill, but Aura-Sphere Mega-Lucario I feel is the primary method of checking Moody Glalie.
Let's see how the other Eviolite wall compares to Porygon2 in terms of walling Greninja to hell and back.
Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpD / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Minimize
- Substitute / Thunder Wave / Toxic
Unlike Porygon2, Chansey...
Can't say's Landorus-Therian.
Special attacks are the best way to take care of an opponent's Landorus-T. Can't say's version is a nice luring set containing Hidden Power Ice. I'd prefer the incarnate version though, but Therian's quite high SpAtk makes it just as effective. Did you know that...
Does Landorus like being burned? No. This is one of the most common burn users in BSS.
Rotom-Wash @ Wiki Berry / Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hidden Power Ice
Not only Rotom delivers burns, but thanks to...
Hulavuta's Mega-Metagross
Nihilego is easily wrecked by this thing. Even a Metang can take it down no problem.
Speaking of MegaGross, can I nominate it as VotW for next week? 700 Base Power is scary in BSS.
This is quite an interesting vote, as some are voting for the best check, counter, or mon that can take on both formes.
Out of the three scarfers available as a check, my vote goes to Vif-Argent's Garchomp. Nihilego's STAB combo is walled by Ground and Steel-types. Not many Pokmeon can switch...
Hippowdon @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Slack Off
- Yawn
- Whirlwind / Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
This is the classic Rocky Helmet wall set. Slack Off is reliable recovery, Yawn is the first move that should be used on a healthy XZard, and it...
