  1. Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

What? Icy Wind is uncommon nowadays, yes, but it's nevertheless totally viable.
  2. a flower that isn't a grass-type [Florges]

I've had quite a lot of success with Toxic/Moonblast/Wish/Aromatherapy Florges in the early stages of the meta. Though the reason why it was working was that I had a wish-passing Latias on the same team(also, on a sidenote, I really love having two wish-passers, literally nothing dies).
  3. Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

It just came to my mind that it's also kind of circular reasoning: Why is it silly to use these mons? Because they're UU. Why are they UU? Because they're not often used. Why are they not often used? Because they're silly. Why are they silly? ...
  4. Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

Honestly, I don't see how that's silly. After all, even freakin' Terrakion is currently UU( to be exact, BL), and please don't tell me that you think using Terrakion is "silly".
  5. XY UU Beta Discussion (Read post #32)

OK, I think I didn't explain my train of thought good enough: My question is less along the lines of "why so liberal?" and more "why these pokemon?". There are just other pokemon that stick out rather strongly, for example Latias and Bisharp, and while I personally don't see them...
  6. XY UU Beta Discussion (Read post #32)

Would someone care to elaborate? The first list of bans made perfect sense to me, I already tried Drizzle + Manaphy/Swift Swim in OU and it worked great, while Kyurem-B hit way to hard. However, this time, none of the things banned are stuff that I perceived as too strong, with the exception of...
  7. Resource ORAS OU Simple Questions, Simple Answers (Read the OP First!)

The charts and the tiers are provided so that you have a quick overview which common spreads/pokemon you can and can't outspeed with any pokemon you choose. The tiers are only there to make it more clearly arranged. As far as I can tell, they're arbitrarily defined, so there isn't much more to...
  8. Unofficial UUs (Read Post #13) (don't post bugs here)

Not every mon with knock off is a strong physical attacker that Chansey wouldn't want to stay in on anyway; Tangrowth and Gligar for example are mons that chansey usually doesn't fear much, but both carry Knock Off. Also, aside from the fact that you specifically choose one of the very few...
  9. XY UU Beta Discussion (Read post #32)

I really don't see how taunt is the main problem with defog because it requires the defogger to switch into a mon that already carries taunt, which is rather unlikely. The main problem with defog is still that it removes hazards form both fields.
  10. Pokémon Aggron

As a rule of thumb: Unless the the HP stat is waaay higher(and I'm talking about Chansey,Blissey or Alomola - high), HP investment is always better than specific investment.
  11. Pokémon Aggron

Not entirely; I were underwhelmed by a set without Rest as well as by RestTalk, too. But you can just use Rest without Sleep Talk if you have a decent Cleric. And at least in UU, there are so many great clerics (florges, chansey, granbull, gardevoir, gothitelle, etc...) that this really isn't a...
  12. Unofficial UUs (Read Post #13) (don't post bugs here)

Trying to wall on both sides is imho the biggest advantage of assault vest. If you want to actually deal a decent amount of damage, you should use LO/CB, and if you want to wall only on one side, lefties is usually better. Also, the reason I tried hitmonchan in the first place is drain punch...
  13. Unofficial UUs (Read Post #13) (don't post bugs here)

Really? After playing, I made the opposite experience. Chansey walls damn near everything and gives great support, latias is similar though it fears stabbed pursuits, AV Slowbro and AV Tangrowth always get 3HKOed at most, meaning that they're usually back at ~70-80 % after switching out.... and...
  14. XY UU Beta Discussion (Read post #32)

Yeah true, me too. Though galvantula is incredibly easy to deal with, so I don't mind. About knock-off: If we are only speaking about surviving a knock-off, granbull and tangrowth can easily switch into one, too. But it sucks to lose the item.
  15. XY UU Beta Discussion (Read post #32)

I've had great success with that core. I use a team consisting of chansey, mega-blastoise and granbull (obviously) as well as Latias, Entei and Tangrowth. Chansey has sr and is actually quite a reliable setter in my opinion, so imho you don't need another hazard. The general goal of the team is...
